Tips for healthier skin?

Labels:

Q. Any tips would be much appreciated. Also if I stop using concealer do you think my skin will slowly become noticeably healthier?

Answer
1) how you wash your face is important. Fill the sink or a large bowl with warm water, and add a splash of apple cider vinegar. Cup the water/vinegar mixture and splash it on your face several times. It must be apple cider vinegar, not white vinegar. Apple cider vinegar is all natural. What it does is degrease the skin naturally, and restore the natural acid surface of the skin. Don't use a wash cloth and smear the dirt/oil around, splash it and then pat dry. Don't worry about the smell of the vinegar - as soon as your skin is dry, the smell is gone. If you can get RAW apple cider vinegar from the health food store, this is even better - it is loaded with nutrients that feed and protect the skin.
This is a great article talking about the benefits of apple cider vinegar
http://face-natural.com/blog/natural-skin-care-articles/apple-cider-vinegar-as-a-remedy-and-cosmetic-for-the-skin
I also rinse my hair with diluted apple cider vinegar - it leaves my hair shiny.. but don't use it if you color your hair! It will strip the color right out.
2) Another good way to clean your skin is to work up a good sweat - it pushes all the dirt out of the pores, and then you just rinse (with warm water and apple cider vinegar, of course!). If you can't work out, heat up some water, pour it in a bowl, and put your face over the steam - that will make you sweat and clean out your pores.
3) If you notice, I mention rinsing the face, but not using soap or cleansers of any kind - they are not really needed. They are loaded with chemicals that may actually be drying out, or effecting your skin negatively (allergic to ingredients etc).. I never use anything to wash my face, except the apple cider vinegar and water.
4) Moisturize ONLY when you really need it.. if your skin isn't flaking, and looking dry, then let it be. If it looks or feels like it could use a bit of moisture, use raw coconut oil - again, this is all natural, loaded with vitamins, and has been used for hundreds of years by the Polynesians - wet your face, apply a bit of oil to wet hands, and then put it on your face. Let it soak in, then after 5 minutes, blot off any extra. Coconut oil feels awesome! Get the raw coconut oil at the health food store - it is expensive, but you use only a pea size amount and that jar will last you forever! Coconut oil does not go rancid like other oils.. Here's an article on the benefits
http://www.coconut-connections.com/skin_care.htm
Again, don't moisturize if you don't have to - overly moist skin sags over time.. you want nice tight skin.
5) Feed your skin - skin is the largest organ in the body, and often mirrors our health - you must eat well, if you hope to have great skin. Here's an article telling you which foods are best for skin health
http://www.dailyglow.com/skin-care-tips/tips-for-healthy-and-good-skin.html
6) minimize makeup - the cocealer isn't doing you any favors - put on as little as possible, take it off as soon as you can each day, and try not to use it when no one is going to see you :-) If you aren't too self-conscious, try and not wear it.
7) Drink lots of water! Not just any water though - our body's PH is alkaline - by drinking alkaline water, you are flushing out acids.. making your whole body healthier! This will reflect in your skin.. Here's an article on what alkaline water can do for you..But first, you don't need the 'ionized alkaline water' they want you to buy - the article is good, but you don't need this product. You can make your own at home! Fill a jug with water (about 8 cups) and add 1 tsp of baking soda and a few lemon slices. Drink this all day long. The lemon juice masks the taste of the baking soda, and lemon juice diluted won't hurt your tooth enamel. This water tastes better cold, but does take some getting used to.. but it is absolutely great for the whole body.. If you really can't stand this, there are alkalizing drops at the health food store - no taste, can be added to everything.
http://www.acidalkalinediet.com/alkaline-water/top-3-alkaline-water-benefits#.UvRK_c6a84M

Hope this helps.
Drink lots of water to keep your skin hydrated.

Where to get good skin products for men?

Q. I heard that skin products from grocery stores are commercialized and not as effective so I want to know where to get good skin products? Women can answer too, duh, thx!

Answer
5 tips for healthy skin

1. Protect yourself from the sun

One of the most important ways to take care of your skin is to protect it from the sun. A lifetime of sun exposure can cause wrinkles, age spots and other skin problems - as well as increase the risk of skin cancer.
For the most complete sun protection:
â¢Use sunscreen. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15. When you're outdoors, reapply sunscreen every two hours - or more often if you're swimming or perspiring.
â¢Seek shade. Avoid the sun between 10 a. m. and 4 p. m., when the sun's rays are strongest.
â¢Wear protective clothing. Cover your skin with tightly woven long-sleeved shirts, long pants and wide-brimmed hats. Also consider laundry additives, which give clothing an additional layer of ultraviolet protection for a certain number of washings, or special sun-protective clothing - which is specifically designed to block ultraviolet radiation.

2. Don't smoke

Smoking makes your skin look older and contributes to facial lines. Smoking narrows the tiny blood vessels in the outermost layers of skin, which decreases blood circulation. This depletes the skin of oxygen and nutrients that are important to skin health. Smoking also damages collagen and elastin - the fibers that offer your skin its strength and elasticity. In addition, the repetitive facial expressions you make when smoking - such as pursing your lips when inhaling and squinting your eyes to keep out smoke - can contribute to wrinkles.
If you smoke, the best way to protect your skin is to give up. Ask your doctor for tips or treatments to help you stop smoking.

3. Treat your skin gently

Daily cleansing and shaving can take a toll on your skin. To keep it gentle:
â¢Limit bath time. Difficulties and long showers or baths remove oils from your skin. Limit your bath or shower time, and use warm - rather than hot - water.
â¢Avoid strong soaps. Strong soaps and detergents can strip oil from your skin. Instead, choose mild cleansers.
â¢Shave carefully. To protect and lubricate your skin, apply shaving cream, lotion or gel before shaving. For the closest shave, use a clean, sharp razor. Shave in the direction the hair grows, not against it.
â¢Pat dry. After washing or bathing, gently pat or blot your skin dry with a towel so that some moisture remains on your skin.
â¢Moisturize dry skin. If your skin is dry, use a moisturizer that fits your skin type. For daily use, consider a moisturizer that contains SPF.

4. Eat a healthy diet

A healthy diet can help you look and feel your best. Eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean meats. The association between diet and acne isn't clear - but some research suggests that a diet rich in vitamin C and low in unhealthy fats and processed or refined carbohydrates might promote younger looking skin.

5. Manage stress

Uncontrolled stress can make your skin more sensitive and trigger acne breakouts and other skin problems. To encourage healthy skin - and a healthy state of mind - take steps to manage your stress. Set reasonable limits, scale back your to-do list and make time to do the things you enjoy. The results might be more dramatic than you expect.

im starting a new skin care routine all natural..?

Labels:

Q. yeah im trying to get rid of my spots using natural ingrediants,im using a little olive oil to remove eye makeup, i AM using makeup wipes but their tea tree which is natural i think lol. umm to exfoliate i used a cotton wool pad with lemon juice and sugar on it (i saw it on a youtube video) and to moisturise i used a tiny tiny bit of olive oil, but im only gonna do that in night because it leaves my face oily for a few hours umm i dont know what to use as a cleanser? ive just been using simple cleanser and for a toner simple toner too.. should I use a rice water toner or what???? please answer! thanks!! ^-^

Answer
If you want to use a natural skin care routine that is all natural. I would honestly recommend The Arbonne skin care line. These products are BOTANICALLY based, no animal products or byproducts so they are VEGAN certified. There is also no fillers.... when you get your product, you get 100% of the product. Not 30% product and 70% something else to fill it up. I use the arbonne FC5 purifying cleanser and toner which is made out of CARROT cells as well as deep cleansing mask. I like it. It works great. You can check http://www.reneerobinson3000.myarbonne.ca/ for more information on the products.

Is there anything I can do, because it really bothers me seeing it there..pleez help me if there is anthing I can do!
If so, do you recommend any products?

Answer
sounds like sun spots to me. they can appear even if you use sunscreen.

i know of a product from Lancome called- Absolue anti age spot serum. i've been using it on my cheeks to get rid of sun damage and it honestly has made a difference. the only thing is it's kinda expensive. for an ounce it's about $70. but they said if i didn't notice a difference i could return it.

otherwise you could check at a drugstore for something that has skin lightening ingredients in it.

Estee lauder also has a line called whitelight that is for skin lightening

Hairfinity vs Andrew Lessman Hair, Skin and Nails?

Hairfinity has amazing reviews however Andrew Lessman has amazing reviews as well. How should I phrase this sentence?

Labels:

Q. I'm writing on women's roles and I'm having trouble trying to phrase this sentence.. Here are the pieces of what I want to say. How would you word it?

From olden times (I will get the specific date) when women were expected to stay at home and take care of the children while men were out doing the work, from WWI when women were now expected to take over the men's jobs while they were overseas, from the risky skin-showing flapper girls in the 1920s to the (I'll insert something here) there is today, the image of what a women should be determined by society is constantly changing.

This is a HUGE run on sentence, I know. But I have no idea how to word it to make it make sense but still include everything in there. Please help!

Answer
How about something like this...

For centuries, the role of the woman in the household was to tend to the affairs of the home and care of the children while the man was expected to be working as the financial provider for the family. But at pivotal historical points, world events dictated that the role of women would need to change. And change it did: In the New World, women's suffrage began as early as 1756 when Lydia Chapin Taft was allowed to vote in three New England town meetings. World War I required women to take over jobs traditionally held by men so that the men could fight overseas. This new-found freedom (and responsibility) emboldened the formerly 'weaker sex' to what were perceived as shocking and risque activities and dress--as seen, for example, iin the skin-showing flapper girls in the 1920s. The image of what a woman 'should be' or 'could do' was further amplified by the efforts of Nineteenth Amendment, and later, by the Women's Liberation Movement of the 60's. And the image continues to evolve.

Marijuana reactions... Mine is different - Good or bad?

Q. So me and friends smoke from time to time.

When I smoke, Im usually the most chill person in the group. I can laugh, and make jokes, but usually Im the first one to fall asleep from being so burnt out.

Whilst my friends are all laughing and have a jolly good time.

The high effect isnt bad, I love it. I feel tiny bubbles underneath my skin. Im just wondering if its weird that I react differently compared to numerous friends.

Answer
Tolerance, just smoke more often and youl stay awake longer
Marijuana isnt bad for you. Its only illegal because Harry Anslinger
(head of treasury in 1930s) was having his multibillion industry threatened, so he appointed his nefew as head of dangerous drugs and narcotics, secret meetings were held to try to find a way to make one of the worlds best resources out of the way. Eventually the made a movie called "reefer madness"(look it up on google video[not on youtube]). All it did was tell lies to trick the naive americans into teahing thier children not to, and so on. America has been suffering eversince. in the 1920s it was predicted that all car fuil would be run an hemp, but those greedy bastards had to go and screw up everything for america. if you realy care go to norml.org (gives many facts of benifits of marijuana + pro-legalization of marijuana) if you have any questions or would like to know some helpful info when chosing where you stand you can email me (yahoo, if you scan these please dont delete my comment for this) nirvana270793@yahoo.com
if we ever want to make a natrual resource that was falsly accused of wrong doing we must make our voices heard (norml.org, ect.. email me if you want to know ways to stand for justice, [also sory if you dont care for politics but he can realy help, as he is the only presidential candiday that will talk about the taboo subject, due to fear of not getting elected Ron Paul, you can go to ronpaul2008.com]
Its a plant not an evil drug (also can be used to replace 10-20% of potentialy addictive and costly medications)

UK alternatives to coastal scents?

I really want to get a palette similar to the coastal scents 88 palette or the Celia 120 palette. But between converting to sterling and then paying to post out to over here, it can get quite costly(also would take ages to arrive!).

Does anyone any have a uk alternative to these, that are the same quality? Also, it would be nice if they weren't to expensive either!
Thanks :]

Answer
Buy them from Ebay! Here's the thing, Coastal Scents does NOT make their own eyeshadow. They buy wholesale palettes from China, slap their logo on the box, and mark the price up. The ones on Ebay are way cheaper and they are literally the same thing. My friend just bought one actaully, do these look familiar?

teen jobs in austin tx?

Labels:

atxsouthsi

where is their a good place to work for a 15 years old this summer

Answer
Here is a short list of summer jobs which you can create to generate income:

1. Learn calligraphy so that you can provide handwritten invitations and thank you notes to prospective wedding parties, birthday celebrations, etc. Seek out clients through wedding planners at nearby churches and temples. A starter calligraphy kit usually runs around $20 and anyone can easily pick up this skill. The going rate is usually $1 per hand addressed item.

2. Become a "poser" who assists wedding photographers in setting and arranging various individuals in group and single photographic positions. "Posers" carry around a sketch book of various sitting and standing poses which consists of onion skin overlays of various wedding pictures bound in albums. Again, contact local wedding photographers and wedding planners, accordingly. The hourly pay is around $10-$12 per hour and you are often invited to attend all dining activities.

3. Seek from your neighbors a gardner position which involves planting, weed removal, plant/tree trimming, light brush clearance. You will be using the neighbor's equipment and tools. Again, do not represent yourself as a lawn mower since there are any number of safety issues involved. A door-to-door solicitation of surrounding neighbors is required and you can charge between $6 to $9 per hour.

4. Offer policing/removal or clearance of trash services to surrounding neighbors which involve trash pickup within nearby residential area. Limit the extent of pickup to small areas and be aware that there are no hazardous terrain or elements involved in this process. Again, a door-to-door solicitation of neighbors is in order. You can charge between $6.75 to $7.50 per hour.

5. Acquire a set of window cleaning tools [a bucket, liquid window cleaner, sponge, squeegee, handle with an extension and a small step ladder] and solicit local businesses for your window cleaning services. However, be careful to limit the height of the window cleaning to no higher than one story. Charge $1 per window panel.

6. Become a proxy/stand-in for neighbors to allow delivery of goods and packages to your home/apartment. Acquire the authority to sign any receipt of incoming packages as an accepting neighbor. Charge $1 per each package handled by you.

7. Consider becoming a restaurant-cafe customer liaison by using your cell phone at restaurants-cafes to coordinate with the hostess to keep track of waiting customers. Whenever there's a very long period of time to activate a waiting list, you want to offer the restaurant your services so that customers do not have to stand around for any lengthy period of time. And when their name/assigned number comes up; you can call the upcoming customer's cell phone to tell them that they can return to the restaurant and be served. The call back fee is usually around $0.50 cents on a per head basis. For example, a couple would be charged $1.00 while children under 6 would not be charged. Placement of a plaque which outlines your fee schedule near the hostess station is sufficient to garner attention of prospective customers who will value your services since they can do other activities outside of the restaurant -- often beyond the range of any inhouse paging system. You realize that everyone has a cellphone and why not take advantage of the connectivity to make the diner's experience worthwhile. The restaurant will also appreciate the added service you are providing as a customer liaison.

8. Why not become a paid feeder servicing the disabled at nearby nursing, convalescent, assisted living/care centers and hospitals. It involves feeding food to patients who are unable to feed themselves. The starting rate is $8.00 per hour. The only downside is that one has to take precautions to wash one's hands after each feeding. A posting of your services [by a business card or flyer] on a reviewable bulletin board would be enough to generate customers. The paid feeder position is one of the fastest growing occupation at this time.

Good luck!

Who would you pick??( austin or james)?

miley

Okay so im a stick situation. Im stuck between two guys.

James: i met james about 9 months ago and weve been close ever since. He doesnt want a relationship though. When we hangout we hold hands, cuddle, kiss, and all the good stuff. Were not friends with benefits though. He isnt that cute, and hes shy but for some reason i just feel so comfortable with him, and i can honestly say i love him. He can be jerky though. He doesnt really text me unless he is bored or wants to hangout though. Another thing is i met his dad and his sister. And the thing is hes leaving for college in august. He also went to prom with his friend too. Anyways my friends dont really like him, cause they think he is a jerk and uses me. But for some reason i still love him.

Austin: okay first off he is gorgeous. Muscles, green eyes, tan skin, and brown hair. He is a surfer. He is so beyond sweet, and the nicest boy EVER. He is also really shy. Every girl is like obsessed with him but i have him... hehe. Anyways he wants to go out, and he tells me how beautiful i am all the time. He also has alot of money, and isnt going away far for college. All my friends like him, and tell me we would be perfect together. The thing is he is a little shorter then me which i dont really like...

** the only reason im asking this question is because i really cant choose. Everyone tells me how i should go out with austin... but im still SO hooked on james, and i feel like i wouldnt be a good girlfriend to austin, when i still love james. So in your opinion who would you pick? and who should i pick?

Answer
I would pick Austin ;)
But for you i would say James. You seem to really love me and dating Austin wouldn't change that. You LOVE him and no matter who you date those feelings wont go away. James sounds like a really sweet guy, and who cares what your friends think about him. Your not DATING your friends. If you feel hes using you then tell him. You said you feel comfortable so ask him why are you kissing me if you dont want to date me

Foundations like mac studio finish powder foundation that don't clog pores as much?!?

Labels:

Guru

Mac studio finish powder foundation has GREAT coverage, but it clogs your pores like crazy! Is there any foundation that has the same type of coverage as the mac foundation but still doesn't look as cakey or clog pores? Also, I have very sensitive, combination skin that is acne prone if that helps.
Thank you SO much!

Answer
First off if you have oily/acne prone skin you need to take care of it. Buy a cleanser suited to this skin type from Alba at your local drugstore. I recommend the Pineapple Enzyme one along with their scub (which you must mix with kaolin clay from whole foods). After tone to remove any extra bacteria and to tighten your pores. You can use plain witch hazel from the pharmacy for this purpose. For moisturizer, use pure jojoba oil from your local health food store. It moisturizes your skin and balances it out, but tricks it into stopping heavy production of oil. This is ideal for oily/combo skin, sensitive skin. It will not clog your pores at all.

After you are done with cleansing, exfoliating, toning and moisturizing, you will need a primer. You can just use plain milk of magnesia from the drugstore or a BB primer.

Prestige's Multifinish Wet/Dry Powder Foundation is pretty much a dupe of the MAC studio fix foundation and has a light to full coverage depending on application. Under ten dollars it gives a natural and flawless look and doesn't clog your pores.

Another good drugstore option that won't break you out/clog your pores and is ideal for oily/combo, sensitive or acne prone skin is Revlons Mineral Mousse. It provides a light to medium coverage and looks very natural.

For a drugstore finishing powder, you can use Prestige's Perfectly Matte.

If you want to mix up your routine a bit, are willing to spend a bit more to stay matte as long as possible, want to feel natural yet have everything you want to hide under control:

Try BB Cream which can be ordered from Amazon or Yes style. I really love BB Cream because it evens out your skin tone in a natural light coverage, heals acne scarring, doesn't cause acne, prevents darkening of the skin + treats under eye circles, while it already comes with an spf in it. There are bb creams for any skin type.

My favorite currently is Baviphat's Magic Girls Magic BB cream in fresh for oily skin. I like using the Alima Satin Matte Mineral foundation on days that I need it and their mineral concealer for extra coverage and any problem blemishes/circles I may have. I always use Jurlique's Citrus Silk finishing powder even on days that I skip the mineral foundation, because it keeps my overly oily skin matte for over 8 hours even in the hottest/humid conditions.

Remember to always clean your face before applying any makeup and to remove it at night before going to sleep. Never share makeup/tools and clean your brushes after each use or at least 3 times a week. Don't reuse sponges more than once. Buy a 2 dollars pack of over a 100 to use and don't use the puffs, sponge applicators that comes with cosmetics. Also toss those out and replace each use. Don't touch your face if you haven't just washed your hands. You don't want to collect bacteria and add it back to your face, causing more acne and oil production.

Drink at least 10 glasses of pure water a day, cut out greasy/sugary foods/empty carbs, introduce greens/fruits/veggies/legumes/whole grains/lean protein and exercise regularly. This should really help with oily skin.

Is eco health and beauty any good?

I stumbled upon their website, and they seem to have a variety of designer mens' colognes that have been 'modified' to be eco friendly. My questions are: are they any good and how long do they last?
Here is the website: http://www.ecoperfumeandcologne.com/shop/

Answer
In the beauty industry, there is no industry-agreed meaning for terms like 'organic' or 'natural'. Unlike the food industry, these terms are not regulated for cosmetics which means companies can use these terms pretty freely.
Also, products like shampoo, conditioner and body wash are mostly made of water so therefore are mostly natural (because water is natural, right?). So if a shampoo is 90% water, then a company can simply claim "90% organic or natural" and be telling the truth. Certainly, this isn't in the spirit of what people believe organic to mean, but it is within the law.

Don't believe the hype: "For skin care products, 'organic is not enough,. Some organic products are fabulous, and some are not." ~ Dr. Lisa Chipps , M.D. specializes in removing skin cancer & repairing the resultant wound (laser therapy whiz) in Rodeo Drive.
"Organic skin care products are trendy, but that does not mean nonorganic ones are dangerous," Wendy E. Roberts, M.D. past president of the Women's Dermatologic Society.

Answer
i have been using Clinique Dramatically Different moisturizer since i was about 15 (i'm 31 now) and it has really kept my skin looking nice. i have dry skin, but they do make a gel version for oily complexions, so you could try that. it's about $30-40 for a 4-oz bottle (about the size of a bar of soap?), but one bottle lasts me for about half a year.

all my other makeup comes from drug stores, but this stuff is worth it. my mother has been using this stuff on her face since college and she's nearing 70, but you'd never know it because her skin has aged so gracefully... people have been guessing she's 10-15 years younger than she actually is for as long as i can remember. i get similar guesses about my age, so i credit the moisturizer for it. :)

the price is really not much different from what the drugstore anti-aging brands go for. some of their other stuff is way up there (i just bought some eye cream from them and it was almost $70... UGH... but again, it's a huge container and will probably last for a year, i'd guess), but i've tried samples of their other creams and many of them make my skin feel great (i've started waking up with puffy eyes and i've always had dark circles, so i try to put the extra cream on my eyes before bed).

most department stores like Macy's or Parisian or Lord & Taylor usually have a Clinique counter. once every few months, they'll give you a gift-with-purchase with lots of fun free samples to play with, like mascaras and lipsticks and the anti-aging samples. the ladies that work there are supposed to be very well-informed about their products, so they could probably recommend a good combination for your oily skin.

one note: i would skip any toner anyone tries to sell you. i have been using plain rubbing alcohol on my zits after washing for about a half a year now, and it clears things up faster than anything else i've ever tried. i wish i'd known this back in high school... aargh!

what kind of face makeup would be good for my skin im 40 years old?

Answer
I've been using bare minerals ,but i dont recommend it. its got bismuth in it & makes all those claims. Plus you only get a little bit of some of some stuff.

If u are gona join a 'club' go with sheer cover, but you don thave to join a club to get minerals.

I like smokeymountain minerals, they're smoother & not as dry ( really really moisturize with bare minerals - even extra!).
& mary kay, even avon & hsn. serious skin care. get a consult with somebody.

Suggest a skin care diet?

Labels:

Alright so i'm on minocycline and my skin is just awful. I've started drinking lots of water but want a diet written out for me to flush out all the toxins and stuff.
breakfast, lunch, and dinner. please list some ideas for each meal. My skin is SO dry from this pill and looking in the mirror today just really opened up my eyes. I need to not only change my skincare regime but my diet. I'm 15, 115 pounds,5 ft. Please help :(

Answer
Better skin diet

# Fish contains oils that will help nourish your skin. This diet includes fish options at lunch and dinner to add lustre and softness to your complexion.

# Ground flaxseeds (linseeds) are an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids, which promote good skin health. This meal plan adds flaxseed to your breakfast cereal for a healthy start to your day.

# Vitamin A is essential for healthy skin. This diet includes plenty of dark orange (carrots, sweet potatoes) and dark green (broccoli, spinach, kale) vegetables - all of which are high in vitamin A.

# Vitamin E helps promote good-looking skin, which is why this diet includes nuts such as hazelnuts and almonds - which are high in vitamin E - as snacks.

* Consume a sufficient amount of fruits and vegetables while staying within energy needs. Two cups of fruit and two-and-a-half cups of vegetables per day are recommended for a reference 2,000-calorie intake, with higher or lower amounts depending on the calorie level.

* Choose a variety of fruits and vegetables each day. In particular, select from all five vegetable subgroups (dark green, orange, legumes, starchy vegetables, and other vegetables) several times a week.

* Consume 3 or more ounce-equivalents of whole-grain products per day, with the rest of the recommended grains coming from enriched or whole-grain products. In general, at least half the grains should come from whole grains.

* Consume 3 cups per day of fat-free or low-fat milk or equivalent milk products.

A well-moisturized skin is somewhat less prone to developing of wrinkles. Drinking plenty of fluids throughout the day ensures proper hydration of the body and helps reduce skin dryness. Experts usually recommend drinking 6-8 glasses of water a day. Coffee and sodas are not a good substitute for water because they contain caffeine, which is a diuretic, i. e., a substance promoting the excretion of water via urine. Also, do not drink too much fluid 2-3 hours before going to bed. This may cause morning puffiness and excessively stretch your skin.

Answer
Ok. First of all how would you describe your skin type (other than having no acne). Do you have oily, dry, normal,or combination skin? More in likely you have either normal or dry skin if you don't have acne. Also is your skin sensitive?

If you answer those questions, I'll be happy to find you a good skin care regime!

Hope I helped;)

Transiting Saturn in 7th house?

Labels:

Q. Transiting Saturn in Libra has just entered my 7th house. I was thinking this signifies a shift of responsibilites, life lessons and karma from work, health concerns and habits (6th house) to partnerships, justice, possibly the media, legal issues, learning to share, striving for balance, beauty and harmony (7th house). There might be setbacks in all those until I learn Saturn's lessons of responsibility and hard work.

Any thoughts? Thanks.
Thanks for sharing, Sarah.

Answer
I've had transiting Saturn in the 7th house for two and a half years. It entered in the 7th house at the beginning of January 2009.

However for much of my last two years of high school and beginning of college Saturn was transiting my 6th house of health and work. I tried getting a part time job and I had a hard time doing so. I wonder if there were transits to the ruler of my 3rd house, because family members wouldn't let me get a car or liscence either. Anyway, I had issues with health those last two years, but mostly psychological. I was bulimic off and on that year, as well as going on restrictive diets. It was bad.

So far, Saturn in the 7th house has been MUCH more positive than Saturn in the 6th. ( Although I had a six month relapse of anorexia in late 2009,, but I got sick of all the bullshit and forced myself to get better ). I was single for much of the transit but right in the middle of it I found someone who wanted to be in one with me this past Spring. ( My 7th house is randomly really big and I don't think Saturn will be transiting my 8th house until sometime in mid-late 2012 ).

During this transit so far, close friendships have been extremely important to me. I have not been close to many people at all, except a few. I have also lost a few best friends during this transit that I was once extremely close to.

But also relationships and friendships are in for the long haul, too, I think. Commitment.

Jupiter in 12th house???

OC

I have a Jupiter in 12th house. What are the negative aspects of it???

Answer
Jupiter (to expand) In The Twelfth House

Your good luck may not bring you personal benefits, but it tends to protect you from harm, even miraculously. You may tend to be involved with places of seclusion, such as prisons and hospitals where you may work for reasons of universal love and to help mankind rather than for personal benefit. You tend to hide your natural joviality and good humour. Often because it is inappropriate in these areas. Your philosophy may be one that relates to transcending normal human living and seeking dissolution in the universe, or in universal love. You seek the truth about hidden matters; that is, occult, inner wisdom and secret knowledge which may be of benefit to humanity. You seek the beauty of the transcendent and may be a little unworldly. You may hide your desire to travel, or for secret wisdom. But you might also be involved in secret journeys, or behind the scenes work in some research. This could involve work related to health and disease.

Skin Care/Acne Question!?

Okayy, so I have pretty good skin; The only problem i really have is the occasional annoying pimple. Bt here's my question. So right now I'm using Purity by Philosophy & Its an amazing product; I absolutely loove how soft it makes my skin feel. Bt my concearn is that i dnt think there's any ance stuff in there. Like its a great face wash, bt its does nothing to help my breakouts, & being a teenager, thats pretty important to me. So..is there a face wash out there that will make my skin soft&pretty like purity AND help w/ my breakouts? Or shud i jus keep using purity & get an acne spit treatment? if so, which treatment. If this sounds like youu. plz also share yourr skincare regimen w/ me! Thnx a bunch in advance!

Answer
Below is my skincare regime but it's also good for all skin types. I added an example of what I use personally to help guide you but it is by no means necessary for you to purchase those items. I just like them personally because I purchased everything at Target except for one item and they are all relatively affordable. Just make sure you do this twice a day (morning and before bed).

1. Eye makeup remover. A good one is half oil and half water and you will need to shake it up prior to using it then squirt some onto a cotton pad or ball and gently remove your eye makeup. It may leave your eyes feeling a little oily but the oil is good at removing all eye makeup, even waterproof mascara. You can run water on your eyes afterwards to get rid of the oily feeling if you'd like. Ex: Boots Botanics Soothing Eye Makeup Remover $5.99 at Target.
2. Cream cleanser. Use this with absolutely no water. Simply apply all over your dry face in circular motions, avoiding the eyes. You can then rinse it off with water or a damp washcloth but be sure not to use any water when you are first working this on your face. Ex: Boots Botanics Organic Facial Cleanser $7.99 at Target.
3. Alcohol-free toner. Squirt onto a couple of cotton pads and wipe all over your face, avoiding the eyes. Ex: Boots Expert Sensitive Gentle Refreshing Toner $3.99 at Target.
4. Daytime moisturizer and night cream. During the day you need a moisturizer to act as a barrier for your skin to hold in moisture. At night you need a cream that will replenish the moisture you lost throughout the day. Ex: Boots Expert Sensitive Light Moisturizing Lotion for day from Target (don't remember the price but I know it's around $8) and Boscia Recharging Night Moisture from Sephora which is $44. Night creams are more expensive and the right ones are difficult to find. Read the ingredients to make sure mineral oil isn't one of the ingredients for the night cream you choose as that will not penetrate the skin.
5. Eye cream. Use an amount about half the size of a grain of uncooked rice (yes, very little). Rub this between both ring fingers and then gently tap it on the bone surrounding the eye moving all the way up to above your brows. Never rub this all over your eyelids. Ex: Boots Botanics Organic Face Moisturizing Eye Cream $14.99 from Target.
6. Yogurt. Go to the grocery store and pick up a lemon, orange, or pineapple flavored yogurt (make sure the yogurt isn't the kind with fruit at the bottom but is actually that fruit flavor) and then apply it all over your clean face and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. You can then rinse it off with lukewarm water. The active cultures in yogurt will help neutralize the bacteria in your pores so it will help heal any blemishes you have currently and also help prevent new ones. The citric acid from the lemon, orange, or pineapple will also help dissolve the top layer of your skin (just like using a scrub to exfoliate but much more gentle). You can do this every day if your skin is really bad or just 1-2 times a week as a preventative measure.

I hope this has helped but if you have a question, need me to clear something up, or want to know why I recommend each product, please feel free to e-mail me. You can do so through my profile.

saggy skin tips 16 years old HELP!!?

Labels:

Q. ive been losing weight (about 50 lbs fron working out and eating healthy) and i still want to lose about another 100 lbs.

ive noticed that my skin, especially tummy and arms, has been a little saggy and im really really worried that once ive lost all the weight ill have extremely saggy unsightly skin.

im a boy, 16 years old and currently just under 250 lbs.

I NEED TIPS (EXERCISES, ETC) TO HELP MY SKIN TO TIGHTEN UP AND KEEP IT FIRM, ESPECIALLY AROUND THE WAIST!

Answer
When someone is overweight, the skin stretches to accommodate the
increased volume of weight. After weight loss, the skin sometimes
fails to tighten back, and becomes loose, hangs or sags. It often acts
as a reminder of the weight you once had. There are some ways to fight
it.
1. Skin care.
- Start by exfoliating your skin daily in the
shower. The outer layer of your skin is made up of old, dried, dead
cells. Exfoliating will help the skins circulation and the balance of
skin growth.
- Treat yourself to a hot hour-long bath once or twice a
week. While the bath is being drawn, add 1/2lb of pure sea salt to the
water and allow it to dissolve. Besides relaxing your body and
muscles, it will draw toxins out of your skin and will improve your
overall skin tone.
- Aloe vera extract, soy protein and yeast extract
can improve your skin's elasticity by increasing your body's
production of elastin and collagen. It not only tightens your skin but
your skin's natural defenses as well.
2. Change Body Composition
This means working on the ratio of your body fat to lean body mass.
You should gain muscle to replace some of those lost pounds while
preventing loss of lean body mass when dieting - This will
dramatically improve loose skin from appearing. Also, loose skin is
one thing, but still having body fat is another.
- Lunges are great for sagging skin on the upper thigh. In order to
tighten loose skin by exercise, you need to pinpoint the right
exercises that will target the area you wish to tighten the skin on.
The upper thigh requires lunges, in which you tone the gluteus, upper
thigh and hamstring, pulling the skin tighter to the thigh and
creating a more attractive thigh area.
- Squats also assist with your lower body sagging skin. Squats are a
dream to tighten loose skin by exercise. They provide an ultimate
lower body workout for the gluteus and thighs. With your feet shoulder
length apart, you simply keep your back straight as you lower yourself
into a sitting position as if you were sitting in a chair.
- Bicep curls target that nasty underarm hang. The arm skin that
hangs down has been called many things by its biggest haters. This
problem seems to be one of the ladiesâ biggest woes and can be
targeted with bicep curls. It is important that when you tighten loose
skin by exercise you perform exercises that are toning the muscle, and
therefore the surrounding skin.
- Planks work that stomach flab. With your hands under your
shoulders, hold your arms out with your legs straight and toes holding
your legs up. You get the most abdominal toning with this exercise the
longer you hold the stance. The recommended time is 20 to 30 minutes.
- Crunches are painful but highly effective. When you are seeking the
ultimate way to tighten loose skin by exercise and targeting the
stomach skin flap, crunches can be the most effective. Crunches
provide complete toning for the abs if performed appropriately. The
back should be straight with the chin level, and you will raise your
torso to your knees, fighting the resistance. This will be one
exercise you will feel later.
3. Surgical Reduction
If neither fixing your lifestyle, changing your diet, or using the
above products didn't give you results. There is surgery, it is
expensive, but well worth the money if you get it done right and by a
good surgeon (research your doctors).

Skin Care Advice for a 30 year old please?

ADarlingC

I am 30 years old and want to do all that I can to keep a youthful look without any surgery or botox procedures. May I please get advice on skin care products (ie. should I start using La Mer type skin products or do you know of better options?), how often should I get facials? I am looking for tips, product lines, and treatments that don't involve needles or surgery yet. However, I will probably turn to that route when I am in my 50's or 60's. Any professional advice is very much appreciated! Thank you!

Answer
There's a great skin ingredient that really hasn't hit the commerical market yet. It's called Copper Peptides. Dermatologists and plastic surgeons use it for post-treatment of chemical and laser skin resurfacing -- because it helps to build collagen, reduce inflammation and helps to skin heal fast.

Later Dr. Loren Pickart found that it can be used to help reverse skin aging by increasing collagen production -- which starts slowing down in your 30's.

You can read more about cooper peptides at this web site -- www.wrinkle-free-skin-tips.com

This web site outlines all kinds tips and ticks to help make your skin look and be younger. At age 30, now is a good time to start getting control of aging before it goes to far.....then it's really hard to reverse the aging effects.

Your Favorite Makeup/Skin care Products?

Labels:

Q. Tell me your favorite Primer, Base, Eye Liner, Eye Shadow, Cleanser, Toner, Moisturizers, Exfoliant, eye cream, Mascara, ect.. stuff like that ;)

Answer
(I'm copying and pasting this from a previous question as well as adding to it because the other questioner only asked about makeup baha)

Face Primer: MAC's with spf 50

Foundation: Diorskin Forever Flawless liquid foundation...
I've started using my old MAC's Studio Fix cream foundation to though.

Concealer: The Body Shop's jumbo concealer pencils

Powder (to set everything): from The Body Shop

Bronzer: right now I'm using Wet n Wild's bronzer.. I'm looking for a nice blush still haha

Eye primer: Mac's Bare Canvas Paint

Eyeshadows: I use MAC and Too Faced's eyeshadows (too many colors to name)

Eyeliners: I use Chanel twist eyeliner (in expresso), Rimmels soft kohl pencil eyeliner (in white for tear duct), and rimmel's colorstay (in charcoal).
for liquid eyeliner, I use Revlon colorstay or I use my Too Faced Liquif-eye (which turns eyeshadow into eyeliner).
**TIP: always invest in a good eyeliner so you don't look like racoon lady (with it smudging and melting off your face, etc), but I always use my eye primer (MAC's Bare Canvas) along my lower waterline to before I put eyeliner on, AND I set it with eyeshadow... so when I put my white eyeliner near my tear duct (over my Mac's Bare Canvas eye primer), I also go over it with my highlighter color usually or even a random white eyeshadow... and I go over my rimmel's charcoal eyeliner (if I use that) with a gray eyeshadow.. if I use my Chanel expresso eyeliner, I go over it with a brown eyeshadow to SET it.. (same purpose when you use powder over your foundation and/or concealer).

Mascara: Covergirl's Last Blast.
***TIP: heat your mechanical lash curler with your blowdryer... your lashes will keep it's curl longer

Lipsticks/care: I use Burt's Bees honey lipbalm.. rub it in.. then I use MAC's lip conditioner stick with spf.. rub it in.. then I use Revlon's color riche lipsticks and/or MAC's lustre glosses... (minimal color, emphasis on the lustre.. when I want color I rely on lipsticks).

____________
Morning routine:
I have dry sensitive skin, but I still want to feel clean, versus just washing my face with water.. so I got this sample from The Body Shop of their Vitamin C face cleanser.. it's really gentle (as I think all their cleansers are.. too gentle to remove makeup in my opinion at the end of the day).. then I use The Body Shop's Aloe day cream.. let it soak in.. put on my eye makeup, etc.. then I use my MAC's face primer with spf 50 all over my face, applying it with a brush so that it's even.. let it soak in while I change and do my hair... then I do my face bahaha...

Honestly, it takes me forever to look AVERAGE.. I HATE my skin and my monolids haha.

My Night routine:
I use Dove's non-foaming cleanser under their sensitive skin care line to remove my makeup.. with it I use this cloth I bought from The Body Shop.. then to remove any remaining makeup/residue, I wash my face again with Nivea Visage's gentle cream cleanser (honestly, it's TOO gentle hahaha.. that's why I'm not scared to wash my face again with it.. and I have DRY SENSITIVE skin haha).. then I 'exfoliate' with The Body Shop's Vitamin E exfoliator (it's not really an exfoliator.. it's just creamy.. like it adds moisture into my dry skin), sometimes I use the Body Shop's Vitamin E Toner, but I've been breaking out lately, so I've stopped. Then I sometimes use The Body Shop's Tea Tree Oil night treatment (for blemishes) and then I use The Body Shop's Aloe night cream for my face... and I use my left over Body Shop's Vitamin E Night Cream as an undereye cream.. (Yes, I love The Body Shop haha)

oily skin after make-up???? HELP!!?

iloveit

i use macs studio fix i love it but after an hour my skin is oily!!!! any suggestions?? just for skin care i use nuetrogena

Answer
ok, neutragena is awful! They test their products on animals. So does maybelline, loreal paris, and covergirl. Mac however, dosn't. I love their makeup! For a great foundation, try Bare minerals. It isn't tested on animals, it works with your skin and not aginst it, and it dosn't make you oily. you can get it at www.sephora.com or www.bareescentuals.com

For a new skincare line. Try Lush fresh products. They make the best skincare products. There all natural, not tested on animals and are becoming the biggest line right now! You can visit a lush store near you, there in malls, or you can go onto their website. www.lush.com. They make a great soap for oily skin. It cleanses without drying. Best company ever! =)

If you like what your using and don't wanna buy something new then try buying some oil blotting sheets. There like tiny tissues that absorb oil on your face. They really work and can just go right in your purse. It gets rid of excess oil and shine in one blot! So easy. Mary Kay makes them. www.marykay.com or you can get them at Victorias secret.

Also, when your done washing your face, rinse it with cold water. Not only will it wake you and your skin up, it will also close the proes so they produce less oil. It really works. Try it!

Good luck and hope I helped! =)

what is your full skin care and makeup routine?

Labels:

forgetmeno

what is your routine, any tips you swear by? no brand names! just what you believe makes or brakes an appearance, texture, or appearance

Answer
Skin care: AM - cleanse and tone, moisturizer, SPF. PM - cleanse (exfoliate 2x weekly) extractions if necessary. tone, eye treatments, moisturize. (A mask treatment is recommended weekly as well.I like an invigorating mask with instant results)

Makeup: I like to keep it pretty and natural - not over done. I use a clean makeup sponge (wedge) everyday so that bacteria doesn't spread. I use this for my foundation and blush. (one side for foundation the other for blush, a makeup brush works too as long as you clean it with brush solvent and condition it after every use.) after foundation I dab a concealer stick over any blemishes. It seems to blend better on top of the foundation. then some blush on my cheekbones and/or bronzer under my cheek bones to contour.
Once the face is done I move onto the brows, keeping them well groomed and arched i use a conditioner stick (you can get it in a eyebrow kit) to hold the hairs in place and also to grab the color I use to darken my brows. Mine are very light since I have blonde hair. I use a tapered angle brush with short fast strokes dipped in shadow. Then I take a mascara brush and blend and brush the hairs.
For the eyes I use a highlighter with a shimmer from the inner corner of my eye up to my eyebrow and across the brow bone. then i take my darkest color and make a triangle from the middle of my eyelid to the outer edge of my eye (line this up with the end of the eyebrow) and I smudge it so it's not pronounced. Then I take my middle color and blend it over the to of the dark color and into the inner part of the crease of my eye. The last step is to take a brush and blend all the colors nicely so they are soft and there is no harsh edges.
Finish the eye up with a lash curler and some lengthening mascara.
A great trick is to get your eyelashes died or get extentions so you don't have to wear mascara. I like to do my own extentions. It is time consuming but looks very nice if you do the doe eye or cat eye style. (dying the brows is nice too)
I finish off the look with some lip color - either a light pink or darker pink to red (not pure red though) and top it with some gloss.
Wha la your done....

Dry skin caused by skin care?

Ikenai_tai

HI,

I've been for the past months expierencing dry and flaky skin.. I'm currently 21 - only a year ago - I had oily skin type.. Is it possible for one's skin type to shift so dramatically?

I might think the cause of my skin dryness, are probably skincare products.. I've really stepped up, in terms of using cleansers, moisturizers, face mask you name it.. could this be the problem?

Answer
your skin probs may just be seasonal but, if you used really aggressive products before for oily skin, while your skin was combination/oily then most likely it is the cause of the prob.
the safest thing to do is to use products for all skin types until your skin gains back its natural oil and its PH level.
do keep in mind that flaky skin is also a sign of dehydration.

Answer

- Definitely use tea tree oil or witch hazel that's what i use.

2. How can I get rid of these bumps around the place where my hair and face meet.
- I get those too just keep your hair clean and don't let it get too oily.

3.How can I get rid of these little bumps around my nose. They look sorta like this but only on the sides of my nose.
- I use to have those until like i said i used tea tree oil and witch hazel
just dab it on in the morning

4.And how can I get my skin one even skin tone. I heard I can use a lemon well can I substitute that with a lime?
- I've used lemon but i mix it with sea salt and make a scrub.
Just rub it on your face gently then wash it off.

* I know you said you wanted to use home remedies but I was the same way because I didn't want harsh chemicals or anything. But I found this product that is 100% natural and since I've used it I don't get pimples at all! It evens your skin tone, takes those bumps off your nose and even takes away those pimples near your hair line. It's not expensive at all. You can get it a trader joe's for $4 or even at Stop & Shop! YOU HAVE TO TRY IT! here's a link but you can use the home remedies but they won't work as good. They are facial cleansing pads with tea tree oil, lemongrass, witch hazel, ginger and other natural ingredients. They are made by desert essence!

Is this a good skincare routine for oily, acne-prone skin?

Q. 19 year old guy trying to control his oily, acne-prone skin...here is my routine.

Morning:
-Wash face with Burts Bees Deep Cleansing Cream (BBDCC)
-Rinse off with warm water, then wash face with Clean & Clear Continuous Acne Control Cleanser (10% Benzoyl Peroxide)
-Rinse off with warm water, then splash face with cold water

Night:
-Take shower and wash face in shower with BBDCC
-I shave every night so if I don't shave that night then,
-After shower and washing face with BBDCC in shower, I wait 20-30 minutes before applying 0.025% Tretinoin Gel (Retin-A)...I leave that on. Then I wait 5-10 more minutes before applying Organic Tea Tree Oil on my acne-prone areas.
-If I shave the only thing different is that I wash my face again with BBDCC after I shave too.

The only thing bad I've noticed with this routine is that my skin seems to have some redness in certain areas and it seems to be from the Tea Tree Oil, but I am not positive.

What do you guys think? Is it good? What should I do to eliminate this redness? Anything I can cut down on or eliminate from this routine? Please do not mention any other products that have worked well for you, just work off of the products I have just mentioned. Thanks.

Answer
Congratulations Jojoba Oil is a great moisturiser to use, as it almost identical organically-speaking to sebum, which is the natural oil produced by your skin. As well as being a great natural moisturizer it can also help with acne, Jojoba Oil penetrates into the skin without clogging pores and is suitable for all skin types it contains vitamin E and antioxidants which are great for fighting aging signs and moisturizing the skin.

Studies on jojoba oil show that it has the ability to prevent skin from becoming too oily. This is due to the fact that putting jojoba oil on our skin can trick our cells into thinking they have produced enough oil.

Remove any surface dirt from your skin, then put just a few drops of jojoba oil into your hand and rub it into your skin when you start to work jojoba oil into the skin, the oil penetrates into the pores. As jojoba closely resembles your skin's own oil, moisturizing with jojoba oil sends the message to your pores to stop overproducing the sebum that causing the oily skin.

Tee Tree Essential Oil can irritate the skin for some people this sounds like what is happening to you.

The best results are usually achieved using pure Tee Tree Essential Oil directly on spots, Simply put a couple of drops on a cotton bud and dot onto each spot. Don't use it over your entire face as it can irritate the skin for some people.

I would recommend between 10-20 drops of essential oil to 50ml of jojoba oil, if you are going to apply to larger areas.

Hope this helps!

Makeup and beauty essentials/basics?

Labels:

Q. Ok, so i'm almost 14 and going into year 9, and i'm starting to get into makeup ect. (the pressure has beaten me aha) And I was wondering what I should buy. I have pale / pink skin and kind of a blotchy / oily complexion, and dark circles / tiny eyes.

I wash my face (most of the time) twice a day with a Simple gel and blemish removing moisturizer, and apply spot cream if i have any and lip balm every couple of hours when i have some on me. I also use baby oil after i shower and moisturize my arms / legs before i go to bed occasional. Does that cover the 'health' aspect?

Make-up wise, I don't have much. Only the stuff I get from magazines, some of which is decent butI have sensitive skin and tbh I think most of it is junk. I do have foundation but it's kind of orange, I always water it down heavily with moisturizer. These are some things I have bought / ordered and are on their way

~ A white eyeliner (I heard they make your eyes look brighter if you put it on your waterline)
~ A dark brown and a black eyeliner
~ Some dark brown mascara
~ A neutral 'amber' peachy lip stain
~ Some kind of dark rose lipstick
~ Some foam triangles
~ A set with five shades of concealers / eye shadow type stuff that comes with a brush
~ Loads of rose tinted Vaseline and Body shop flavored lip balm

Is that all I need?
Obviously because I am 13 I don't really 'go out' much so I don't need any dramatic stuff, just simple things i can wear to school and apply in under what, 15 minutes? Am I set?
Ant tips? :)
Stop spamming :)
Thank you! :) I'll look into getting some of that powder, because my nose and forehead to get very shiny.

Answer
If you get spots and dark circles, I would suggest a concealer and for your oily complexion I would get some pressed or loose powder and just apply a little bit to your t-zone or where you get shiny. White eyeliner is really good for making your eyes look bright and open so I would use that for school instead of black eyeliner for a more natural look (dark brown is more natural too though.) You could use the black eyeliner or darker colours when you're not at school though. Finish off with some mascara and lipgloss (or the Vaseline rosy lips.) Maybe when you get more into make-up you could use some eyeshadow and blush/bronzer but that's not really needed at the moment. (You can use a natural coloured eyeshadow for school.)

i have oily t-zone but don't have acne. please help?

any home remedies???

Answer
Bathing daily cleanses the skin, but it also can dry it out, causing it to look dull, but most importantly, it may cause irritation and remove the natural emolients your body produces to keep it healthy. When you bathe, always use a moisture-rich cleanser, and always pamper your skin with a daily moisturizer. Also, using products the wrong way helps your oily gland cells act up, for example if you have a tzone (oily only forehead and nose) and you use a serum for the entire face, this will help the sebacious glands (oil glands) to produce more oil. Also if you have acne you should not use a scrub because this is what could worsen your acne because it active the production of the sebacious glands. I would recommend you having your daily skin care regimen with products formulatted without mineral oil, animal products, fragrances, dyes, and chemicals. I herd in fox news about the ingredients in the "beauty" products. Did you know that the mineral oil is the 2nd worse thing you could do to the health of your skin? #1 is the sun. It is like rubbing car oil and exposing yourself to the sun. Did you know where animal products come from? they come from dead animals..... there are tghese plants (rendering plants) that what they do is get all the dead animals put them in a huge pot, squash everything in there, boil it and the oil that comes to the top is what companies use to formulate their products, gross i know.....this is the reason I only use botanically based products for my skin.... these products help you to see results. the news i am telling you about the toxins we can see in the beauty products, this is the link.... http://easylink.playstream.com/ydc/arbon...
it is alarming, and the products the spokeswoman for the National Cancer Society actually uses are ARBONNE the same products i use ..... https://secure.myarbonne.com/arbonne/arb...

Q. Are there any sites that sell (inexpensive) health care/beauty products and also ship to Canada?

Answer
Here are a few stores that sell health and beauty products:
http://www.sasa.com/SasaWeb/eng/sasa/home.jsp
http://www.sallybeauty.com/
http://www.ulta.com/

The international shipping varies and I would suggest using a forwarding service to consolidate and ship the items to Canada.

Health Care Reform: Unconstitutional?

Q. If the health care reform is demanding that all employers give employees health care, isn't that unconstitutional and socialist? You have to work to EARN things, not have it given to you. I'm only 14, so I may not have gotten this right, but my father is an employer and talks about how ridiculous it is. Frankly, I'm worried about my future. I want to know if Obama is screwing the country. People FOR Obama, no stupid, insulting remarks about my distaste for our president. Also, I don't know the rules, so if I said something I wasn't supposed to, PLEASE let me know.

Answer
Unconstitutionality, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder, but the Supreme Court has the final word.
Compelling persons to purchase a commercial product is, in my opinion, unconstitutional, but I am not a lawyer. If the issue goes to SCOTUS, the decision will probably be a 5/4 split.

President Obama is, in my opinion, doing great harm and damage to the nation. He is 'screwing' you and your future children & grandchildren with his Socialist agenda.

You can't vote yet, but you can try to influence the progress of the issue. Visit my blog post "Flame Your Congressman", copy the link, and visit http://www.congress.org/ to send an email to the President, your Congressman & Senators. You don't need to know their names or district numbers, just your Zip Code. Insert that link into your email. Be sure to tell them, in your own words, what you told us.

When you take American Government and Economics classes, pay attention, do your homework and the extra credit reading. You should start by reading Mark Levin's book: "Liberty and Tyranny".

Follow up to heartofstone's: "why do white people think BET is racist?"? - - More input?

Q. Okay, my answer to this brain bust is this.. To have channel called BET and the main purpose of this channel is so that African Americans can have a channel devoted to them, is racist. Now before you stop reading because I said what you don't like, think of this.. If there was a WET channel, how would you feel?? I mean, if you weren't on this subject, and passed by the channel, how would you feel? A lot of people would feel that the makers of such a channel were racist. CMT. that was brought up a couple of times, I don't know if you know it, but NOT ALL WHITE PEOPLE LIKE COUNTRY. In fact, a lot don't, such as myself. And "white people have all the other stations" HA, I will leave that one at that. Ignorance, no, the feeling is justified==> When Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans (most of you remember that), the CEO, Debra L. Lee, made the statement: "Once I heard that there were so many African American homes destroyed, I wanted to help"
Ask yourself this, if there only a few African American families there, OR just white families there, would BET still have helped?? My answer is NO, because of her anser.. I am in no way/shape/or form racist, and it is not racist for me to believe the idea of this channel is racist. I believe the reason there is no political debate about this channel is that most white people are afraid to do or say something about this channel because African Americans would become angry, not all, but most, and accuse that person of being racist...... Yes there are white people on commercials on BET, what does that prove??? And they occasionally appear in movies on BET, okay... what is that saying?? Point being, You can be racist and not have Racial slurs.. All it takes is something claimed as to be just for a particular race... {Old days = "white's only bathroom" "white's only school" very racist} {New days ="All Black Colleges" "Black Entertanment Television" not racist???}

Answer
I like your intelligent response to this issue. I wish that we could all just see ourselves as Americans and desire to help each other without consideration to race.

Personally, I wouldn't care if there were a WET station because if I didn't like what was on it, I could do something new and revolutionary...turn the channel. I do however like "white" music.

I see BET just like I see MTV or CMT, I don't like any of them. I hope you don't think that BET represents black America. That would be most horrific. The crap that is on BET is not what I want to stand for. That station rarely shows any positive black images. It exploits blacks for a profit.

It is time that we all stopped just seeing race and start seeing the individual. Sometimes, however, there are legitimate reasons to single out a race. For instance, my hair would be as brittle as dry hay if I used products marketed to whites. In the area of beauty and science/medicine we need to make a distinction because we have real biological differences. If the CEO of BET wants to fund a black beauty expo or a black health expo, that's fine since it is not a focus addressed in the mainstream. Blacks only make up about 12% of the US population. I hope that you can see that sometimes, people aren't always trying to be malicious when they separate but just trying to fulfill a neglected need.

Soothe and heal the sores on your skin for more comfort and fewer infections. According to research or other evidence, the following self-care steps may help you prevent or treat skin ulcers:

Use ointments containing zinc, aloe, or gotu kola extract to help heal skin ulcers
Get a checkup
Visit your healthcare provider to find out if your skin ulcers are caused by a treatable medical condition

Skin ulcers are open sores that are often accompanied by the sloughing-off of inflamed tissue.

Skin ulcers can be caused by a variety of events, such as trauma, exposure to heat or cold, problems with blood circulation, or irritation from exposure to corrosive material. Pressure ulcers, also known as decubitus ulcers or bedsores, are skin ulcers that develop on areas of the body where the blood supply has been reduced because of prolonged pressure; these may occur in people confined to bed or a chair, or in those who must wear a hard brace or plaster cast. Skin ulcers may become infected, with serious health consequences. Other health conditions that can cause skin ulcers include mouth ulcers (canker sores), chronic venous insufficiency, diabetes, infection, and peripheral vascular disease.

so am still in high school. senior.'09 yay!!..lol sorry...and i been offered this job...but is that good. its working with jewelry at a dept. store. to sell it. is that good..or bad ?

Answer
That's pretty low, but lots of people in high school and college get paid minimum wage. Working at a common place like that will pay you low (other examples would be common clothing stores and the job is horrible). What you should do is get a job where you earn lots of tips-waitress, bartender, beverage cart person on a golf course-you might not get paid super well (they usually get paid about $2.50 an hour), but you earn lots of tips and probably bring home around at least $80 in tips every night, depending on where you're working. You'll make more than your friends that way. Also, you could try more upscale places, like really nice department stores (Nordstrom) or a skin care/make-up place. I just got a job at an environmentally friendly skin care place and make more than most people my age probably, they're willing to hire people if you have good people skills and are ready to learn. You could even do a place like Clinique or Revlon, the little places in department stores...you'd also learn a lot about skin care and probably get a wonderful discount. Good luck! :)
