Help! white patches! i dont want a stupid awser because its what you guessed.?

Labels:

hi

Okay I recently got it, and its not vitiligo, and its not sun damage. Its a bunch of litttle white dots. And I started using different lotion, and different laugnry soap could that be it?! Help.

Answer
From your limited description, it could be either Milia or Tinea Versicolor, or something else. Noth Milia and Tinea Versicolor are fairly easily treated by a dermatologist. See below and check out the links for more info.

If they are tiny, white, raised, pin-head sized dots, it could be milia. Milia in adults requires medical attention to clear up and prevent scarring.

If these are patchy, sort of like a spreading sunburn that has peeled, it may be Tinea Versicolor. This is contagious and you should not share towels, clothing, sit on furniture bareskinned, have close physical skin-to-skin contact with others, etc. (and yes, that is probably how you got it).

i am going to hawaii and want to fish fresh and saltwater?

mr.confuse

i know there are peacock bass in freshwater but what types of lures catch them best? i will be shore fishing. and in calm coves in the ocean what will i catch if i use shrimp? thanks!

Answer
Welcome to Hawaii.
Connect with guides at Lake Wilson, Honolulu, Hawaii, and they will take care of what the peacock bass are hitting.
Shore fishing from calm shorelines and coves with thawed fresh shrimp will work; however, better to use
thawed out squid (strip the outer layer of skin) works better.
Whipping may get you a barracuda; casting may catch a parrot fish, goat fish, jack crevally.
Have fun.

What kind of lizard is right for me, plus care?

Labels:

horselover

Hi,
So I'm thinking about getting a lizard or two, but I'm not too sure which kind would be right for me. If anyone's got any advice on types based on what I can provide for them, any information is greatly appreciated.
-I have a bit of experience taking care of my cousin's bearded dragon a few times, and I'm willing to learn and will be sure to do ALL my research prior to bringing anything home, however I'd still prefer a lizard that's fairly simple to care for
-I've got room for a tank up to approximately 30 gallons, maybe 40
-I'd like a relatively small lizard that enjoys being handled on a regular basis
-Preferably a kind that is happy to live either on it's own or in pairs... not a large group
-Not one with a short lifespan (under say... 6 years is what I'd consider short) preferably one that will live a good long life.

I'm kind of leaning towards a green anole, but some people say they're shy and don't like being handled. If anyone has suggestions, information, etc that would be great. Please provide what kind of setting they need (tank size, general setup, diet, cage mate/solitary, etc) and if you can tell me kinds you've got experience with and why you have your preferences, that would be really great too!
Thanks guys.

Answer
Green anoles can be fast and difficult to handle.

I HIGHLY recommend either a crested gecko or leopard gecko...usually leopard gecko is best in my opinion.

Leopard gecko..
Needs 20 gallon long tank or larger. Heat mat (not heat lamp, as belly heat is more important) with thermostat (to keep it from getting too hot). Have the hot side at 90-95F (laser thermometer is best, as it will measure floor temp). No UVB is needed. If you wish to have a viewing light, get a 2.0 UVB or regular fluorescent light and have it on 8-10 hours during the day. Solid substrate such as tile, paper towel, linoleum, slate. Loose substrates can cause impaction. Reptile carpet is often recommended, but I have known of leopard geckos to have developed sores on their feet/belly. It can also be difficult to disinfect/clean properly. 3 hides (hot, humid, cool)...I recommend making a humid hide out of a gladware container (or similar). Cut a hole at the lid..not the side..to prevent substrate from falling out. Sphagnum moss, bed-a-beast, ecoearth, cocofiber, or simply paper towel can be used in the moist hide...keep the substrate moist. 3 bowls (water, mealworms with carrot/potato to keep them gutloaded, calcium without vitamin d3). 2-3 supplements (depending on what kind you use)...calcium with and without vitamin d3 and multivitamin. I personally use Miner-All Indoor for the calcium with vitamin d3 and multivitamin combined. Dust food with calcium with vitamin d3 every other feeding. I always provide mealworms in a dish for free access and gutloaded (where you provide food to the insects before feeding to the reptile) crickets/dubia roaches every night (for babies/juvies) and every other night for adults. Do not house 2 males together or 2 unsexed juvies/babies together or 1 male and 1 female together. Most of the time, it's best to have just one per cage, as they can transfer disease/parasites or bully one another. Lifespan? 15 years on average, though I have known of a few to get into their 30s, supposedly. These guys can actually enjoy being handled. I have 3 out of 6 that willingly climb out of their cage onto my hand. As babies/juveniles they can be a bit fiesty and might bite, but many times it doesn't even draw blood. They can tame out quite easily through regular handling. When buying (not from a pet store...breeder or reptile show is best), look for one that has a thick tail (though with juveniles/babies, they usually won't be too thick, but it shouldn't be skin and bones). Look for clear eyes/nose/no stuck shed.

Crested geckos....
Adult needs 15 gallon tall tank or larger. With some juvies/babies under 10 grams, it's best to keep them in a large kritter keeper to help them find food easier. They don't need heat unless it gets below 65F (and in that case, add a heat lamp with a low wattage bulb..make sure it's not within reach). Do not allow their cage to get over 83F, as they will get stressed. They don't need UVB. They need plenty of vines/plants (live or fake) along with plenty of climbing branches. I've never seen any use hides at the bottom of the tank, but you can provide it if you wish. They need a food dish and shallow water bowl. Some people claim that they will lap up water from misting, but I have seen mine actually drink from the bowl...even right after I had misted the cage. Mist 1-2 times daily with a dry off period in between. Feed Repashy brand crested gecko diet (available online usually...I hardly ever see it in stores. SOMETIMES Petco will carry an older version of it, also labeled as T-Rex brand at times) Do NOT feed baby food. Do NOT feed mealworms (some have reported impaction due to the hard exoskeleton). You don't need to feed insects in general, but if you wish to, you can feed gutloaded/calcium with vit. d3 dusted crickets or dubia roaches once a week at the most. Feed Repashy 3-5 times per week. Add 2 parts water per 1 part Repashy (I usually do 1/4tsp Repashy with 1/2tsp water). As for substrate...I find paper towel to be best since it holds moisture and can't be ingested. If you're not going to feed insects, then EcoEarth/Bed-a-Beast is fine to use for a more natural look. Average lifespan is 15 years, though it's unsure of how long they could last, as they were only rediscovered in 1994...they were thought to be extinct before then. These guys do best alone, as well. As for handling, they can be very jumpy but can tame down as adults.

Estee Lauder Day Wear Plus help!?

dream gurl

I just turned 18 and I was wondering if using Estee Lauder Day Wear Plus (Multi Protection Anti-Oxidant Creme SPF15) too early to start at my age or not?

PRODUCT DETAILS
This protective moisturizer actively shields skin to help prevent lines before they appearâso your skin looks smoother and healthier, longer.

Helps protect skin from the multiple assaults of the environment:

HAS ANYONE OUT THERE TRIED IT? PLEASE LET ME KNOW. THANK YOU!

Answer
I used to be a big fan of Estee Lauder once upon a time but now I wouldn't recommend it to anyone - I'm currently having resurfacing treatment for scarring on my face due to huge problems their foundations caused.

You're never too young to look after your skin, you have to live in it for the rest of your life so take care of it. Look out for a light SPF lotion, I believe Clarins do one in an SPF 40. They also do sun creams for the face in lower SPF's and their products are full of plant extracts and minerals which can only be good (I know many people who love Clarins). For daily wear it's best to find a lotion with a light texture that will absorb easily rather than a heavy cream.

I'm 24, and at 17/18 I was given all the wrong advice about my skin and how to look after it and what products to use etc and I'm now taking drastic action to fix it. The best advice I can give you is to find a gentle cleanser that will balance your skin rather than strip it of oils, and wear a daily SPF to protect your skin from environmental damage. If you have to wear makeup, minerals are the way to go as there are far fewer chemicals (just smell a regular foundation and then smell a mineral foundation!). Your skin will thank you for it.

That was probably far more information than you wanted lol, but I hope it helps :-)

Cosmetics and skincare products to avoid during breastfeeding?

Labels:

jm

I read a lot of information on the internet about what to avoid when you are pregnant. But do the same rules apply after birth and when you breastfeed? Were you advised not to use something by a doctor? I get many skincare products as gifts, and since I am only 17 weeks I am going to avoid "brightening" masks and salcylic acid washes and products just to be safe. I also got dead sea masks and produst. I am not going to use those (unopened) products until I give birth at least.

I like to try new skincare stuff but I don't know what to do...
I alos have papaya and pineapple enzyme masks. Just wanted to mention a few things here...

Answer
You don't have to limit skincare products during breastfeeding. During pregnancy the fetus receives the same "dosage" of things as the mother has in her blood. However during breastfeeding *most* things are present at a much lower level than in mom's blood. Usually less than 10%, alcohol is present at 2% of mom's blood levels for example. Now there are a few drugs that are present in very high levels in mom's milk -but these are not skin care products.

And the amount of anything from skincare products that is absorbed is usually pretty low to start with.

You do have to be somewhat concerned about what you put on your nipples. There is some concern that a baby could receive on overdose of vitamin E from certain creams if they are applied to the nipples and not wiped off before nursing.

Can I continue to breastfeed if...?

Do they have skin care products in Chanel Stores?

Their is a Chanel store in The Mall at Millenia, Orlando Florida.
I will be going their in October. Do they have a skin care counter?

Do they have Chanel at Macy's - because their is a Macy's in The Mall at Millennia - but I don't know if they sell Chanel.
Do Macy's have Estee Lauder & Clinique?
Any ideas?

Thanks for answering!

Answer

Best lotion for dry skin FOR MEN?

Ball Playe

any suggestions I have very dry skin

Answer
are you older?

because dry skin is usually found in men.
other things to take into consideration are your face wash, over exfoliation, and couple other things.

but for the most part when it comes to skin care, it doesnt really matter too much whether its for men or women (unless it has a really girly fragrance or a lame looking container - then id probably skip it haha)

also are you looking for something really cheap?
or can you spend a few bucks?
what my friend who works in the skin care industry told me, is that if theres one product you should invest money in, its a moisturizer. mainly because cheap ones lack a lot of ingredients that will help your skin, and can also clog your pores

is this for your face or body?
if its for your body, simply lubriderm will work. thats what i use when i get dry skin on my elbows or hands, and it gets rid of it.
i know vaseline just made a lotion specifically for men that can be used on your face too (although id advise against it because lotions are way different than a moisturizer.)

if its for your body, the cheapest ones i know would be things like aveeno.

the one i use, and it costs a little bit more, is peter thomas roth oil free moisturizer.
personally i feel its justified because it has antioxidants. antioxidants protect your skin from free radicals, antiaxidants are like vitamin E and vitamin A.
and its oil free, which is a must if you have break out prone skin like i do. oil free is water based, while most are oil based - increasing chances of clogged pores.
but my skin is not oily at all. i have pretty normal skin, and i definitely dont have combination skin. but i still get breakouts and use a neutrogena acne wash. since that dries my skin out, this moisturizer does an excellent job of restoring moisture.
most oil free ones, people complain of not enough moisture. thats not the case with mine, and it also lasts a pretty long time

so just be sure to do a little research and youll find something. just dont be afraid to go into the "girly zone". this is the reason i want to work at nordstroms or some other place where they sell skin care items. because mens grooming is a booming business right now.
but so many men are intimidated to go into a shop like sephora because of the girly stigma

with more men in there to relate to and talk to about specificly mens grooming, then i think there business would boom. so we;ll see how that goes
and i hope you got something out of my post.
i didnt really know what to suggest because you didnt give us much to work with.

dry skin can be on face and body, and most people on here are talking about their face. but you said lotion. and lotion should only be used on the body.
so if you need more specific help feel free to send me a message

Question about skin care..?

Labels:

Paige

I have oily skin and was wondering if there really is a way to prevent it or possibly cure/change it. My skin isn't crazy oily but after a few hours of wearing makeup my cover up doesn't look very good anymore. I have used all sorts of products for oily skin but nothing seems to help. Does anyone have experience, what worked for you? Thanks!

Answer
I know this sounds strange, but moisturize your skin more. When you skin is oily its your body telling your face to produce moisture so the skin wont get dry and it will preserve the elasticity for longer. But if you moisturize your body will have no reason to turn on the signal to moisturize the face. And that will result in a less oily face!! Try moisturizing over night to start off thats the easiest way to do it.

How to get "flawless skin" with limited products?

Joanna

I have been watching so YouTube tutorials but the you tubers are using around 6-10 different products. I am not made of money so I was wondering if I could just get a foundation like Maybelline SuperStay 24Hr Foundation and just apply that. What other products should I get? Any concealers you guys could suggest?
I don't really wear make-up so I have no idea what I am talking about.

Answer
Flawless skin starts from your good genes, good skin care (wearing makeup is not part of that formula - less is more, less skin poisoning), and eat all the good foods from Mother Nature not sold @ GNC stores, and not made by a woman like Joan Rivers or Cindy Crawford. It's a lifetime thing not just one day or month or year.

The sun & too much soaking in the tub or pool = skin's worst enemies. I've been protecting myself from the sun since age 9, but no matter, I got Discoid Lupus. Google that one. It was like someone punched my chin and it gave a purplish mark. It took 12 years for that to fade, so now I'm using a wide brim hat or umbrella for protection. Gene Simmons & Shannon both have been seen hold an umbrella during an event. They were invented before beauty products, for a reason. Google also Bullous Pemphegoid, photos I posted of my mother was too gross & deleted, another skin disorder.

Tanning comes & go, unless you do them everyday 24/7 for the rest of your life. But in the end the only thing you'll benefit is either moles, freckles, skin tags or discolorations from sunscreens, lotions, etc. and the more you do, the more they get larger, darker & bumpier. Tanning, is a result for 'damaged skin' and no products can reverse you from skin cancer or damaged skin, may prevent you from pre-mature aging, but that's part of the billion dollar beauty industry.

Any kind of facial wash, you're leaving something toxic behind, it's not a matter of convenience, it's a billion dollar business that can do more harm than good to your acne. And sometimes we feel entirely virtuous about our skin-care regimen because it's full of SPF-- all year round!-- and cleansers and such. But the truth is, we may not realize that we're overdoing (or underdoing) something that can lead to the very thing we're trying to avoid: dryness, breakouts, accelerated aging, New York dermatologist Dr. Jeannette Graf. The BEST Skin Care System and Products???

to_tell_th

For women over 40? Regardless of cost, what do you consider to be the absolute best skin care products out there, and why? Please tell me of your own experience(s) with the products you like and use.

Answer
Hi:

I am a Registered Nurse and I specialize in skin care. Skin care is my passion and I have worked with hundredes of patients over the last 12 years.

All of my patients use the SKIN RENEWAL METHOD found at:

www.aboutyourskincare.com

First of all, they provide you with a FREE SERVICE where you can email them any questions you have regarding skin care and a skin care expert/physician will answer you for FREE! I refer alot of people to their site.

Lastly, they have the most incredible products on the market. Reason being is because they consist of pure and concentrated extracts from fruits, vegetables ( ex: potatoes which produce hyaluronic acid good for wrinkle control) and vitamins. They dont mass produce therefore they can keep the products as pure as possible while not compromising the integrity of the products. They custom make the products specifically for your skin type.

I dont recommend store bought products because they are mass produced for millions of people and so it is not cost effective to use pure extracts ( they are very expensive).

They have a med spa in Bay Harbour ( it's the Beverly Hills of Miami) for over 26 year, they are reputable and the products are very fairly priced.

Good Luck!

Kirkland's milk products really "organic"?

Labels:

Q. I've been purchasing Krikland milk products for a long time now. Dose anybody know if the company really provide 'organic' and 'animal welfare'? (that's what it says on the product but...)
I tried some online research about the company but couldn't find any good information.
I would like to know what kind of food and 'energy' goes into my body and what kind of company I'm supporting.

Aloha :-)
thanks for the help guys! This really inspire me to become a vegan! Starting now!
I can't believe I spent extra cash on organic products!! (Only God knows i had only good intentions.)

Answer
What exactly does those terms mean...I know they don't mean a thing and they are just scams to make people think eating animal products is ok. The animals are still treated very much the same, cows are still raped for their product and that won't ever change.

Animal welfare is really just a code for making humyns feel good if we cared about the animals welfare we wouldn't be using them as slaves.

Animal exploitation in any case is wrong it doesn't matter what a label says if an animal was involved then that animal has been exploited and those are just the simple facts.

Here is a site debunking the food related myths of "humane", "free-range", "organic"...
http://www.humanemyth.org/

Your best bet is to live vegan and not support any of that sort of stuff any more:
"The word 'veganism' denotes a philosophy and way of living which seeks to end the idea of animals as property and exclude all forms of intentional exploitation of, use of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing, research or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of animals, including people and the environment.
In dietary terms it denotes the practice of dispensing with all products derived wholly or partly from animals."

This should give you the info to help start off veganism a lot easier:

Here is a list of animal ingredients to avoid:
http://www.happycow.net/health-animal-inâ¦

More things to avoid:

Animals as clothes:
Leather, skins, furs, wool, silk, down, feathers...

Animals as entertainment:
Circuses, rodeos, zoos, aquariums, animal fights, animal races, hunting...

Companies that DO NOT test on animals(however CHECK INGREDIENTS they only verify testing not ingredients):

Vegan products:

What are easy ways that will help keep my skin rejuvenated?

Lauren

I am 20, have two fine lines under my eyes and have been battling moderate-severe acne for the past 6 years. My acne has toned down slightly, derm prescribed Retin-A (will begin use soon). My skin is slightly scarred, has open poors, and appears to be rough. Also, discoloration and red marks from acne. I am looking into more expensive and helpful treatments, but for simple at home care (i.e. products from stores, etc.) what should I do?

Answer
Hi Lauren

Here are a few testimonials on how to heal the issue.

EUCALYPTUS OIL
11/24/2007: Vinny (highbury21@gmail.com) from Atlanta, GA writes: "A quick, cheap, & healthy way to prevent and heal acne (even blackheads) is to use Eucalyptus Aromatherapy Oil. A big bottle is about $8-9 and can be found at GNC. Make sure you dilute it with water as it is very potent like other oils. You should have very good success with this and should notice HUGE differences within a day."

APPLE CIDER Vinegar AND ALOE VERA FOR ACNE
10/04/2007: Martha from Lawrenceville, GA writes: "I've always had trouble with acne -- I could never get my skin completely under control. ACV helped -- taking it internally -- but I still broke out in a monthly cycle. I started using aloe vera gel on my face a few weeks ago, and my skin has cleared up dramatically. I've not had one breakout, and my skin is getting to be so pretty! I just use a generic aloe vera gel that I picked up in WalMart."

COCONUT OIL AND ALOE VERA FOR ACNE
10/03/2007: Jennifer from Kirkland, Washington writes: "I have been using a mixture of coconut oil and aloe vera gel (4:1 ratio) on my face for my acne for only 2 weeks and it has almost completely cleared it up. I have had moderate to severe acne since I was 13 (I am now 37), and have tried everything under the sun to diminish it. Some things have helped more than others, but this is the first time my skin has felt so good and looked so good in almost 25 years

Best of health to you

Anyone a skin care junky? What do u use? What should I be doing?

Labels:

I'm 27 n light skinned but I do tan (I'm Sicilian). Ever since I was about 8 I would use my moms face lotion which had SPF 15 in it and my parents were adamant about sunblock when we went to the beach. I wear uv block clothing when I run sometimes and I wear sunblock even in winter. The thing that worries me is I work nights as a nurse. Until I'm granted a day position there's nothin I can do about that. Been doing it three years. Afraid night shift will age me. I go for facials every couple of months if I can afford it. I use pro activ, clean and clear and clarins (dry skin Shea butter with moisturizing toner). The girl who does facials told me I should switch up face washes here and there. I don't have a night cream. I'm consider kiehls midnight recovery or one thing I read about from clarins.. What do you use? What do u do for your skin? Girls who work at makeup counters or facial spas always have the greatest skin. I'm a nurse why don't I have any good tricks?! Help!

Answer
Hello!!! I have a lot to say, so I'll introduce myself, lol. I'm Kandi. I'm a skincare freak with quite a few great skincare tips and tricks!! To start, night shift sure won't hurt you. The Sun's rays are actually what age skin the most. So, UV protection, as it sounds you already have down pact, is a must. This includes body and of course face is most important. (See, you're already doing good!) Next, understand that all you can seek all the advice in the world, but everyone's skin is different, as it all reacts differently to different elements. You'll experience trial and error before you find a good group of products that work with your skin specifically AND work well together. And remember, your skin can potentially outgrow every product. So, after years (even decades) of successful use with a product, your skin/body becomes immune to it and can/will reject it. It's like this unexplainable stuff, lol. Ok, back to good news, a good toner is KEY. Toners are linked to so many different elements of good, GLOWY skin. Also, exfoliating is necessary. Some prefer mild exfoliating, others like to go hard core. I personally think all skin is suited better with mild exfoliating. Exfoliating extra layers of skin or too often can really, really throw pH balance off, causing the skin tones/complexions to become uneven. It also removes too much oil from the skin causing it it to OVERPRODUCE oil and cause oiliness. To mildy exfoliate, a simple WHITE washcloth will do the trick. 1, yes, color matters because white washcloths/rags have NO DYES, (in most instances), thus causing less irritants to the skin. (Less breakouts, YESSS!!) 2, yes cheap matters because they are ROUGH (they don't hurt, they just aren't AS soft as JC Penny ones, lol) and not as plush. This texture combined with whatever facial wash you use, will remove that top dead layer of skin and even give you a healthy (not artificial) glow. You'll feel this difference too. (I use this trick on my body as well!). Deep exfoliators remove multiple layers of skin at a time. This opens your pores almost as wide as they can spread. This is when risk is highest for breakouts. Any and nearly EVERYTHING can get into them!! I can go on and on with this, so I'll save you the reading. Here are a few of my videos that will help you:

How can a start-up get its skin care line in retail stores?

That

I am in the research phase on how to get a start-up skin care line in traditional brick and mortal retail stores and have a few questions from people that have done this:
1) Do companies usually work directly with distributors or have independent road reps?
2) Are there any companies or agencies that people would recommend for either?
3) What is the percentage range that either generally earns?
4) What is normally used to "pitch" retailers (samples, lookbook of products, etc.)?

Answer
My best friend actually got her lotion and soap business into Rite-Aids. She set up her own personal website and did it from home for about 5 /6 years. When she got big enough she was featured on the local news and gave "samples" to the news people who then in turn raved about it. Rite-Aide saw, and contacted her. She got a lawyer and they hashed out financial crap. The only difference was that instead of making it at home, she had to use their facilities for FDA compliance/safety crap which took out of her net for each product BUT she was exposed to a lot more consumers so it all made up for itself.

Basically, you have to show that your products are worth stocking on their shelves before they are willing to do so, especially if you would be considered an "independent contractor" They aren't going to do it and take up room on their shelves without a few years of sales proof and growth charts.

I am working with a dietician at a community health centre for work experience. what should I wear?

Labels:

Q. I am working there for a week and its also a community health centre. I don't know what to wear, i tried calling the HR manager, but couldnt reach him. Any suggestions?

Answer
i just did work experience at a beauty salon. food and beauty are both something you have to be veryyyyyyy careful with so you dont stuff anything up! so make sure your hair is pulled back and dont wear shoes with any heel or that make noise when walking. dont show much skin so long dark pants are a perfect thing and then a simple plain t-shirt or long sleeve shirt. dont wear any jewelry and keep all makeup basic and fresh looking. i wouldnt wear eyeliner

Hope this helps! :)

Beauty tips anyone?????????? Help!?

Q. So I'm a teenage girl, don't wear makeup, and was just wondering what tips or daily routines you have that help make you look great. it could be something to do with your skin, eyes, whatever. Just curious to know what works!

Answer
Hi there!
Here are some of my favorite beauty tips!

HAIR:
-When I'm in the shower, I mix some apple cider vinegar with my shampoo. And then I mix olive oil with mu conditioner! The apple cider vinegar helps to really clean my hair, and it also makes my hair super shiny! And the olive oil helps to hydrate my hair, and it also gives it a healthy glow!
-At night, don't let your hair loose, because when you roll around in bed, your hair can break. Also, you don't want to tie your up too tightly, other wise your hair can't breath. SO, a nice loose braid or bun it perfect for at night while you sleep!

SKIN:
-Every night, I give myself a honey facial! I simply put plain honey on my face, and then I gently massage the honey into my skin, using my fingertips. I then leave the honey on for 20 minutes, then I rinse it off with warm water. Honey is amazing for the skin! It's moisturizing, soothing, healing, and antibacterial. It's great for ALL skin types, and works wonders for getting rid of acne and wrinkles!
-Having a healthy skin care regime will ensure that you have beautiful skin! Simply make sure you cleanse, tone, and moisturize your skin twice a day, and wear sunscreen in the day time!
-Rosehip oil is great for the skin! It makes it glow with health and beauty, and supplies the skin with needed antioxidants! Apply rosehip oil on under your moisturizer, twice daily. It will give your skin a healthy glow.
-I take weekly buttermilk baths! I fill a tub with warm water, and add about 2-3 cups of powdered buttermilk! I also add a few drops of lavender oil. Then I soak in the bath for about 20-30 minutes. Buttermilk will make your skin SO soft! It also has lactic acid, which will help sloth off dead skin cells and exfoliate your skin. When I get out of the bath, I rub my body in olive oil.

EYES:
-To help get rid of puffy eyes, apply black or green tea bags to your eyes. Black and green tea are full of antioxidants that are great for tired eyes! Leave the bags on for about ten minutes. Then use a moisturizing eye cream.

NAILS:
I like to soak my nails in olive oil! It makes my nails super soft and shiny! It's also great for strengthening them. Simply fill a small bowl with olive oil, and soak your nails for about 10 minutes. You can do this twice weekly!

Those are just some of my beauty tips and tricks! I hope I've helped. :)

What skin care products can you use for breakouts during pregnancy?

Labels:

Em

I just recently found out I'm pregnant. Only about 1 month. Im aware that you can't use salicylic acid when pregnant. Also retin A which I wouldn't use anyway because my breakouts arnt that serious. But, my hormones are going crazy & as an esthetician I know that hormonal acne is one of the hardest to control. Im scared of scarring so I was thinking of using a vitamin c serum to help with that but I need a cleanser that I can use daily to control this Breakout. Help from any mothers or skin care buffs would be appreciated! ! Also, I am aware of thehardest skin care line Belli..anyone tried it & had luck? I would like to not spend a lot of $, but I do understand if I would have too. Thankss!

Answer
I've never heard you can't use salicylic acid during pregnancy. I've had issues with breakouts since I was 13. Tried a million things. The day I got proactiv was the best day of my life. I'm 21 with 2 small children and I've used skincare stuff with that in it. You should be fine. Still worried about it then you could always consult your doctor.
Good luck (:

Is it okay to use Proactiv (skin care)during my pregnancy?

Anna Nicol

Answer
It is probably better to use Proactiv than other acne/skin care products, because it has more natural ingredients. I'm sure it won't harm your baby as much as prescription acne/skin care would.

any tips on growing my nails out?

Saleena

im growing out my nails but they grow so slow! and they always seem to chip :/

Answer
Growing nails comes from: your good genes, good nail care, and all the healthy foods you eat everyday from Mother Nature.
Beauty products don't make nails grow. Eating does. Babies can do that just by drinking their milk. People giving advice on YA! should list their sources.

You really are what you eat. If you're eating all the healthy foods from Mother Nature - not made by man or woman or supplements from GNC, your hair, nails, teeth, and the rest of your body will benefit too. You get all your vitamins & minerals from your diet. Your hair's fine. You're health's fine, so are your nails. Man-by man vitamins can do more harm than good. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) doesnât have to approve supplements â no agency in the United States does. Because of inadequate quality control and inspection, supplements contaminated with heavy metals, pesticides, or prescription drugs have been sold to unsuspecting consumers. And FDA rules covering manufacturing quality donât apply to the companies that supply herbs, vitamins, and other raw ingredients.
Beginning in February 2008, they experienced one symptom after another: diarrhea, joint pain, HAIR LOSS, lung problems, and fingernails and toenails that fell off. FDA has received numerous reports of harm associated with the use of these products, including stroke, liver injury, kidney failure, heart palpitations, and death. 3-15-11

Google: MSN "Vitamins Can Do More Harm Than Good."

CNN, Slate, Consumer Reports, MSN, YAHOO have posted them online for years how people spend $20 billion per year on vitamins and supplements. According to Everyday Health, here's an article that will tell you why . . . those PRODUCTS by any other name do NOT WORK. It is false advertisements.

Google: Are Supplements Good For You? About 3,350,000,000 results results (0.13 seconds)

THEN Google: Are vitamins & supplements good for you? About 230,000,000 results (0.17 seconds). Some can actually shorten your life!

If you're as healthy as a horse and ALREADY doing all that, then there is nothing more you can do.
Google: FIVE FOODS TO EAT FOR BEAUTIFUL SKIN.
Google: "Foods for Healthy Hair" -

My Hubby, my SIL and their mom ALL have the same nails and break easily and hubby and I have eaten the same foods for over 39 years. Then it's from your genes.

Get a manicure to a good salon, or do them yourself. You can protect them by using one of those plastic gloves. I use gloves often: for chores, gardening, handling papers, going outside during winter, spring & fall, and kitchen, painting, crafting, etc. That way I don't have to wash my hands often.
Gel can harm your nerves. Google gel manicure warnings. About 456,000 results (0.17 seconds). Specially bad if your nails have problem growing or chip easily.

could men use mary kays skin care products?

Mike

i mean like is it only for women , cause i went to the website and its all pink and stuff and it says "enriching womens ives" so my question is could i use their products(facial products) cause i hear they have great skin care products for acne

Answer
My husband uses the MK. On the moisturizer I popped a pump on there ($1 extra) so its silver and white instead of pink. The cleanser he keeps in the shower...and anyone looking would think it was mine. But...nobody goes in our master bath anyway. Recently they had a men's gift set that had the packaging done in platinum. If you contact your consultant she/he can get it for you. However if you use the basic line (which is probably what you heard about) you probably need that moisturizer not the fancy packaged one. I know all of this was probably confusing but you can go to www.MaryKay.com and type in your zip code on the consultant locater if you don't already have one and they can explain all the details for you. ;) Good Luck!

My stud (lip ring) is it an infection?

Labels:

SeirraJade

Ok so I got it done friday at 7:30, I clean it with mouth wash, salt water, and the outside with alcohol (mornings and nights). I wash my hands when changing ring to retainer. So anyways I took the ring out and It was just a little bit red it felt wet so i stuck out the ring and seen this chunk of cream colored something. So I took it out (the ring) and pressed and it was a clear liquid and some of the cream like junk so I cleaned it and it came our like a string and I was wondering if it was dead skin or a start of infection?
Also, I was told to play with my ring I push it in and out with my tounge could this push out skin?

Answer
You're taking care of it pretty well, so I'm leaning toward dead skin.

How to take care of piercings?

Vanessa

How do you prevent the ear lobe from getting black like some person's owns ive seen.

I need them the heal properly, and is there any way to speed up the healing? & How long does it take to heal the following : Earlobe piercing, Helix piercing & belly button piercing.

Can I have a routine to ensure they heal properly and quickly.

Answer
When I got my ears pierced, the place I had it done sold little bottles of special solution to clean the piercings. Morning and evening, I would place some drops on studs and move them back and forth. By moving them, it allowed the solution to get into the holes, and it would move the dirt and dead cells to the edges where I could swab them off. Don't let blood build up and scab, or it will either try to close, or it will fuse to the metal and hurt like mad when you mess with it. If you don't have cleaning solution from anywhere, I've seen people use warm water or even saline. Do NOT use soap. It will build up in the hole and make a mess.

Once it stopped hurting and bleeding, I switched to alcohol for the cleaning process. Once the pierced areas heal, alcohol is perfectly fine. Leave the piercing in until it's fully healed, or the skin will close back up. After that, if you don't have the piercing in, cleaning it isn't really an issue until you start wearing something again. When you start again, you need to soak the ear in alcohol, warm water or saline to loosen the skin back up a little or it will be uncomfortable or even painful to get the piercing back in.

It took me quite a few weeks for the ear lobes to heal. Not sure the time span for the others, but the cleaning process is the same.

Skin care.?

Labels:

ayejennay

Okay, so i'm looking for something natural that doesn't have many chemicals in it so I can clear my face better using natural products. Is there anything natural that I could use everyday to wash my face? Something that actually works. I have combination/oily skin if that helps any.

Answer
hi, not everyone will benefit from the same brand. you need to assess your skin type and then find a product to suit you. i find that if you use a good cleanser to suit your skin type then you are almost there on having perfect skin. make sure you use a good method to apply your cleanser otherwise your not making the most of a good cleanser. this is what i do:

STEP ONE: make sure your hands are clean otherwise your just spreading dirt. thensplash your face with warm water.

STEP TWO: squeeze a small amoount of your cleanser into your palms or a small cotton washcloth.

STEP THREE: apply the cleanser to your face using a circular motion. make sure you cover all areas (forehead, nose, chin, cheeks, neck etc). massage your face for about a minute. allow the cleanser to penetrate the skin for a few minutes.

STEP FOUR: rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. make sure you have removed all traces of the cleanser. you can use a face sponge, a muslin cloth or cotton pads to remove your cleanser. at the end, rinse your face with cold water to shrink the enlarged pores and to improve blood circulation.

STEP FIVE: dry your face with a facial towel.

STEP SIX: once you have cleansed your skin, you should begin the next step- toner.

...so, whats the best cleanser?
some of the best cleansers like i said before arent fancy and expensive. here i list the best face cleansers on the market form cheep to steep.

the best cleansers for... OILY SKIN:

PURPOSE GENTLE CLEANSING WASH: like cetaphil for dry skin, purpose has few bells and whistles- a good thing for a cleanser. this soap free, oil free liquid lathers away dirt, makeup and oil but doesnt leave skin so dry it reacts by overproducing oil. pretty good job for under £5.

CLINIQUE WASH-AWAY GEL CLEANSER: this classic cleanser can be a bit drying, so test this product before you buy. a clebrity must-have cleanser.

SHISEIDO PURENESS CLEANSING GEL: gentle and soft. youll love the way this cleanser smells (and cleans you skin).

LANCOME CLARIFIANCE OIL-FREE GEL CLEANSER: this cleanser will leave your oily skin feeling luxurious but not oily. the only downside is its price.

the best cleansers for... NORMAL/COMBINATION SKIN:

DOVE ESSENTIAL NUTRIENTS SELF FOAMING CLEANSER: this cleanser is a great standby from cold winters to humid summers. this basic cleanser washes away oil and dead skin cells without stripping skin of its nutrients. and its cheap too.

CETAPHIL GENTLE SKIN CLEANSER: this is the best budget cleanser. full-stop.

BLOOM FACIAL CLEANERS: this aromatheropy cleanser has lavender and grapefruit essential oils- great for your skin and smell gorgeous.

FACE STOCKHOLM FOAMING FACE CLEANSER: a great product thats not drying. however its quite pricey.

then just use a good toner and moisturiser. also if you have time, treat yourself to a homemade facial mask once a week (you can find loads of recipies on the internet) and a good facial scrub.

hope this helps

Skin care?

bballguy

Ok should i get a 3 step skin care "system". Or just a good cleanser and something to use as spot treatment. And Which stuff? What should i use???

Answer
I highly suggest three step systems.

cleansers are often very drying to the skin and remove natural oils your skin needs.
toners remove excess cleanser residue, left over dirt in the pores and restores the pH balance in the skin instantly (it takes about 30 minutes without a toner.)
moisturizers are essential. don't ever skip this step. .. EVER.

Pimples can form if your skin is dehydrated (which also can be why your skin is oily). If your skin is dehydrated it will overproduce oil and clog the pores. The best regimen for healthy and hopefully clear skin:
1. Wash with a gentle cleanser (don't overwash though)
2. Tone with a moisturizing and alcohol free toner.
3. Moisturize with a product that is either oil free or non-cosmodegenic with a SPF.
4. Exfoliate 2 or so times a week.

My regimen:
1. Proactiv solution in the evening when my breakouts are more intense. (but doesn't work very well on small whiteheads or blackheads)

OR

1. Origins Get Down Deep Pore Clay Cleanser (really good for white heads! got rid of the small bumps on my face in about a week. clay cleansers or masks are really good for the skin, but can be slightly drying if it's a cleanser)
2. Origins A Perfect World Toner. this is an alcohol free toner that has white tea in it which is great for hydrating the skin and preventing environmental damage.
3. Clinique dramatically different moisturizing GEL. I use the gel even though I have dry skin because it is oil free.
4. 10% Benzoyl Peroxide as a spot treatment. This you can get from target but it might be more expensive. I get mine from Kaiser Permanente for about 5 dollars, and it's not a prescription. It's very drying so use it in small amounts or just continuously moisturize when it's flakey. I apply this three times a day on the problem area, my acne goes away in a couple days.

Recommended Drug Store Products:
1. St. Ives Apricot Scrub (I use gentle)
2. Nivea Moisturizing Toner
3. Oil free or Non-cosmodegenic moisturizer with SPF. (Neutrogena / Dove / Cetaphil / Garnier )

Exfoliate with an electric toothbrush (like a crest one -- even if that sounds weird) VERY GENTLY across your face with an exfoliating scrub. I do this with L'Oreal Men's expert anti-roughness scrub.

Everyone's skin is different. Whatever you do, don't freak out and rotate your products like crazy. I've done that and it damaged my skin.

Does garlic really helps treating hair loss, by rubbing it to your skin in the head, before shower?

Rijad Fera

I heard it from my cousin and she said it works? but I wanna know more about this matter? Can you please suggest, anything else?

Answer
Garlic are good for a lot of things, hair loss is NOT one of them.

What makes your cousin an expert?

Find the cause before you find solution. Eliminate the cause and your hair will improve.

Reasons why that might have happened, below is a short form of why.

1. During the last 3 years, OK 2, how have you been styling or have you been straightening & dyeing or highlighting your hair?
Google FDA website Hair dye & relaxers. Those are 75% the reason why.

2. Have you been taking supplements or using hair oil? Supplements ($42 billions are wasted and could hurt your lungs, liver, organs even HAIR LOSS). FDA has found that from face creams to soaps and other items of personal care, cosmetics companies are taking the general public for a ride. Oil could be coming from eels or shark. Another 5% why. About 3,350,000,000 results results (0.13 seconds).  Google: Are vitamins & supplements good for you? About 230,000,000 results (0.14 seconds) Some can actually shorten your life! The Food & Drug do not approve of them!

3. Have you been stressed out or changed your diet? Genetics of balding runs in your family? Another 10% why.

4. Have you been taking medications with testosterone, certain antidepressants, menopause, anti-acne? Even birth control pills can cause hair loss. The medication most often prescribed for thyroid disorders can actually cause hair loss. Another 10% why you have hair falls. All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects.
5. Google "Boise teen goes on Today Show to talk about losing her hair." She's got Alopecia, 100% why you have hair loss.

Dove hairfall facts:
1. Humidity makes hair dry and brittle, leading to hairfall
2. Colouring the hair damages the hair strands leading to breakage
3. Pollution is also an unseen killer of healthy hair
4. Tangled hair is the most common reason for hair fall
5. While shampooing cleanses your hair, regular conditioning is required for adequate moisturization. Regular use of conditioner post shampoo also solves the problem of entangling which is the major cause of hairfall.
For women: A simple blood test can reveal the root of the problem. Unfortunately, those who do see a physician right away make the mistake of going to a dermatologist rather than their primary care physician. Most dermatologists will review the physical signs of hair loss and diagnose it as female pattern baldness.  Your primary care physician will run tests to diagnose the problem so you can take steps to correct it.

If you think they're from your beauty or hair products:
Take it back to where you bought it.
Stop using it ASAP.
You are encouraged to report negative side effects of prescription drugs & cosmetics to the FDA. Visit the FDA MedWatch website or call 1-800-FDA-1088.

Google: Glossary of Hair Loss Terms. There are 179 entries in this glossary. Stress is just one of the 179 listed.
Again, a simple rule of thumb: Look for the American Hair Loss Association seal when considering purchasing any product or service to treat your hair loss.

> > > ONE treatment called DNCB -- applying an ointment that burns the scalp in hopes of stimulating hair growth. It was a treatment so painful that her head was at times left feeling raw.

Negative experienced: Advance Hair Studio - Fraud Company posted 1-8-12 & others.

Survey says two-third of women in UAE suffer from hair loss
This is significantly more than the other most-reported beauty problems experienced by UAE women, including weight gain (45 per cent of those surveyed), dark circles (31 per cent), eye wrinkles (28 per cent) and ageing (26 per cent), said the research which was commissioned by INVERSION and conducted by research experts Nielsen.
The research is based on a survey of one hundred Dubai and Abu Dhabi-based women aged 25â60. It includes UAE nationals, Asians, Western and Arab women.
The survey results showed that hair-fall concern was highest amongst expat Arab women, with 92 per cent experiencing some degree of hair loss in the UAE.  Expat Asian women were similarly affected with 80 per cent experiencing hair loss.
Many different environmental culprits are held responsible for the concerns of the UAEâs ladies, who are thought to be amongst the most beauty conscious women in the world.  Whilst some blame the UAEâs desalinated tap water, others hold the extreme climate of the Emirates responsible.  The truth is probably more complicated, according to esteemed tricologist (hair specialist), Mike Ryan. 3-7-12.

Does anyone over 40 have any recommendations for a good but reasonably priced wrinkle cream ?

Labels:

momoftwoan

I have a few deep wrinkles I'd like to get rid of or at least make less noticable. I'm blessed with good genes and no skin problem so I just started taking care of my skin and I'm 42. I wear sunscreen regularly. I've found just using eye cream helps around the eyes but the deep wrinkles?

Answer
You just must simply get Yves Rocher! They have a site on Internet. I started using their products at about age 50, am now 65, have no wrinkles, and always get asked what I use on my face. It is the absolute best product I have ever used, bar none. I have always been an Estee Lauder girl, also.

I use the ADN line. It is DNA switched up a bit. There is no animal testing and all products are absolutely plant based. The company even has its own Amazon jungle farm for the exotic plant extracts.

Another thing, you can always get 2 for 1, and they always send you a free gift, like a purse, overnight bag, quilt, etc with each order. The company is in France, oh, and there is free shipping over a certain dollar amount. Please try this. It is really great.

For those of you men who are circumcised how do you feel?

Scuby

I am circumcised and I don't care.It doesn't bother me and I still feel pleasure.I am a virgin.I don't hate my parents for it.But why are there activists who protest male infant circumcision? It doesn't effect me or bother me.

Answer
Well, the reason activists protest infant circumcision is that a permanent change is being forced on the individual. Everyone has their own reasons to think circumcision is wrong or right that is weighed on factors they think are important or not... but the child deserves the right to use THEIR judgment on what is best for their body. Guys OR girls circed at birth are unable to be intact if that is what they want.. That is why all infant circumcision is wrong.

And medically, due to possible complications from the surgery (taking too much skin, skin reattaching to the head, meatal stenosis, excess bleeding, skin bridges, infections) any benefit you hear about, even if you only believe the "pro side", the possible benefits (infections) dont outweigh the possible complications. So you can't even say there is an immediate health need.

Besides, 80% of the world is intact... canada, australia, mexico, england, france, new zealand, most of europe, etc all have really low rates... the US is one of the few non-islamic nations that have high rates of circumcision. Why? Circumcision started in the US for various medical reasons and to prevent masturbation... yet, all of those previous reasons to do it have been disproved. However, this was not until the 60s when 80% of infants were circumcised, since then rates have slowly dropped to nearly 50% rates today. The main reasons it continues in the US are misconceptions and stigma.

Of course both intact and circed guys enjoy sex and orgasm, but the foreskin provides many other benefits during sexual activity.

1. during masturbation, the mobile skin makes it easier and more pleasurable, just move the skin instead of using lotion and your hand (which doesn't receive pleasure)
2. during sex, the extra mobility reduces rawing friction and need for lube making it more pleasurable. The foreskin also provides extra padding making the penis thicker and feels more organic.
3. during oral/handjobs, the guys partner just has to move the skin, not worry about how they are grasping it or if there is enough lube, etc

So not only is it beneficial to the guy, but also his partner... especially if the guy was circed tight.

To help put this in perspective, imagine those in your area were removing labia from their daughters. The guys are used to it being that way and think it looks better, probably easier to clean as well... and it wouldn't really have a drastic affect on pleasure or function. Would you get it done on your daughter? What would bother you most about it? The lack of medical reasoning? The daughter losing the ability to decide what she wants? Or is what bothers you most is that it isn't an ugly mole or even a birth defect, it is the natural female body, something you are comfortable with and cant imagine how someone could cut off parts of her genitals?
