Whats your skin care routine?

Labels:

What products do you use, brand and product names. Also what is your skin type?

Answer
Hello, I would recommend for clear skin various things. First before you focus on facial products make sure you have a healthy skin friendly diet. It is proven that your skin depends %80 on your diet. Things like dairy, grains, and processed sugars are not only bad for your overall health but also skin. Hormones in dairy increase sebum production and cause acne in most people. Also grains (if you do not want to avoid completely try eating gluten free) have inflammatory acids that cause inflammation aka acne and the same for all types of sugar: cane, natural, organic, all!!! I have clear skin 99% of the time mainly just by controlling the amount of grains I eat: I only eat tortillas once in a way lol, rice (try eating whole grain or lotus forbidden rice) beans, and occasionally other stuff. I avoid dairy altogether because I don't like it. If you must eat dairy try eating grass fed goat cheese (less hormones and many don't breakout from it) and maybe organic milk. It is best to try and see what foods aggravate your skin since is different. If you do not want to change your diet then try drinking 30oz of green juice (juice of all types of healthy green vegetables a day) and maybe some multivitamins. Avoid soy products too. If you fix your diet and avoid all those foods for at least a month your skin will clear up about %90 . As a teenager I understand it is hard but if you do it for one month you will be amazed at the results. After the month you can eat those with moderation. If you do this then your skin will be so clear you will not need many face products. Some great face products would be to go with natural products, otherwise the chemicals in other things are making your skin more sensitive. However some drug store products that work great are NOXZEMA ( I used the plus moisturizers because the other overly dried my skin), Clean and clear 3:1 exfoliating cream, Clean and clear moisturizing astringent ( works really well after washing face) and zapzyt. Some natural products I recommend are : Neem leaf extarct from the neem man as a toner (helps clear skin) witch haze as toner, african black soap (amazing for acen), shea terra black soap wash (amazing), pure organic lavendar facial cleanser, and apotheke ubtan face scrub ( using it 2-3 times a week clears up acne and leaves skin so SMOOTH)! Aslo make sure to always cleanse your face at least at NIGHT!! And keep ot simple in the morning. An amaing blemih fighting DIY is mix of milk and honey. Tyr to add a pinch of powdered goats milk (meyenberg brand) with some manuka honey and water to make a paste, gently massaging your gace, and rinsing. I am not sure if I leave anything out but I would really recommend noxzema for acne and apotheke ubtan face scrub ( it is necessary to exfoliate to eliminate and prevent blackheads and acne). Also make sure to NEVER pop because they live scars and infect other pores. Got to epicbeautygude.com for more information! :) I have normal moisturized clear skin..

Well good luck finding a wash that suits you! Remember no matter what your beautiful! I hope i helped.

Skin.......?

I need a kind of cleaner that doesn't dry out my skin because my skin is dry and all of the ones that I try just make it worse. Does anyone know what kind of skin cleaner to use? Or any kind of product that will make so that my skin isn't as dry?

I pick best answer. lol
Could you also tell me where I could get some of this stuff. lol

Answer
Okay, well, first of all, you need to realize that most cleansers on the market today are extremely drying. Many people donât understand that a cleanser that dries out your skin will NOT help with their acne, so you're ahead of the game by understanding that your previous cleansers have not been right for you!

There are several that are recommended by skin care specialists. Some non-drying, non-irritating cleansers are: Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, Dove Sensitive Essentials Fragrance Free Foaming Cleanser, Eucerin Gentle Hydrating Cleanser ($7.99 for 8 ounces), or Paulaâs Choice Skin Recovery Cleanser (which you can get a $0.50 sample of at www.paulaschoice.com).

To be fair, though, itâs possible your cleanser isnât the problem. Besides a gentle cleanser like the ones listed above, you also want to make SURE you are wearing sunscreen, because sun damage dries out skin. You need a good moisturizer as well. You want one with antioxidants, but it should not come in a clear jar or bottle, as light compromises these ingredients.

If your skin is still dry, you can also add a small amount of olive oil to your skin, as it contains anti-oxidants.

Incidentally, none of the advice here is âstuff my grandma told meâ â this information comes from skin care research journals and books.

(Do NOT use bar soaps, Noxema, or anything else like that... these are going to be drying and irritating.)

Skin Care/Acne Question!?

Chelsea

Okayy, so I have pretty good skin; The only problem i really have is the occasional annoying pimple. Bt here's my question. So right now I'm using Purity by Philosophy & Its an amazing product; I absolutely loove how soft it makes my skin feel. Bt my concearn is that i dnt think there's any ance stuff in there. Like its a great face wash, bt its does nothing to help my breakouts, & being a teenager, thats pretty important to me. So..is there a face wash out there that will make my skin soft&pretty like purity AND help w/ my breakouts? Or shud i jus keep using purity & get an acne spit treatment? if so, which treatment. If this sounds like youu. plz also share yourr skincare regimen w/ me! Thnx a bunch in advance!

Answer
Below is my skincare regime but it's also good for all skin types. I added an example of what I use personally to help guide you but it is by no means necessary for you to purchase those items. I just like them personally because I purchased everything at Target except for one item and they are all relatively affordable. Just make sure you do this twice a day (morning and before bed).

1. Eye makeup remover. A good one is half oil and half water and you will need to shake it up prior to using it then squirt some onto a cotton pad or ball and gently remove your eye makeup. It may leave your eyes feeling a little oily but the oil is good at removing all eye makeup, even waterproof mascara. You can run water on your eyes afterwards to get rid of the oily feeling if you'd like. Ex: Boots Botanics Soothing Eye Makeup Remover $5.99 at Target.
2. Cream cleanser. Use this with absolutely no water. Simply apply all over your dry face in circular motions, avoiding the eyes. You can then rinse it off with water or a damp washcloth but be sure not to use any water when you are first working this on your face. Ex: Boots Botanics Organic Facial Cleanser $7.99 at Target.
3. Alcohol-free toner. Squirt onto a couple of cotton pads and wipe all over your face, avoiding the eyes. Ex: Boots Expert Sensitive Gentle Refreshing Toner $3.99 at Target.
4. Daytime moisturizer and night cream. During the day you need a moisturizer to act as a barrier for your skin to hold in moisture. At night you need a cream that will replenish the moisture you lost throughout the day. Ex: Boots Expert Sensitive Light Moisturizing Lotion for day from Target (don't remember the price but I know it's around $8) and Boscia Recharging Night Moisture from Sephora which is $44. Night creams are more expensive and the right ones are difficult to find. Read the ingredients to make sure mineral oil isn't one of the ingredients for the night cream you choose as that will not penetrate the skin.
5. Eye cream. Use an amount about half the size of a grain of uncooked rice (yes, very little). Rub this between both ring fingers and then gently tap it on the bone surrounding the eye moving all the way up to above your brows. Never rub this all over your eyelids. Ex: Boots Botanics Organic Face Moisturizing Eye Cream $14.99 from Target.
6. Yogurt. Go to the grocery store and pick up a lemon, orange, or pineapple flavored yogurt (make sure the yogurt isn't the kind with fruit at the bottom but is actually that fruit flavor) and then apply it all over your clean face and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. You can then rinse it off with lukewarm water. The active cultures in yogurt will help neutralize the bacteria in your pores so it will help heal any blemishes you have currently and also help prevent new ones. The citric acid from the lemon, orange, or pineapple will also help dissolve the top layer of your skin (just like using a scrub to exfoliate but much more gentle). You can do this every day if your skin is really bad or just 1-2 times a week as a preventative measure.

I hope this has helped but if you have a question, need me to clear something up, or want to know why I recommend each product, please feel free to e-mail me. You can do so through my profile.

What makeup works best for my skin?

Lucy

Hey everyone! I have sensitive combination acne prone skin and I have recently started using a new skin care regimen (Lush Herbalism, Tea Tree Toner and Vanishing Cream) and so far so good! I don't use makeup on a daily basis because most makeups tend to make me break out due to the fragrances and chemicals inside of them. What is a good cosmetic brand for my kind of skin? Should I go with a mineral makeup like bare minerals?

Answer
I have sensitive combination skin too!
I use the Max Factor CC Cream because it is lightweight and won't affect your skin in the long term. It works like a foundation (good coverage) but obviously it isn't - it's good for your skin and it's easy to apply. It comes in Light, Medium and Dark and is only £9.99 in places like Boots and Superdrug. I'd definitely recommend it and use a concealer and loose powder (oily/combo skin) over the top. If you use a foundation it will ruin your skin and you don't want that. CC Creams and BB Creams are the best if you want coverage but it won't destroy your skin like a foundation does. Sometimes, the higher the price of a product is, the better it works - for example Benefit and Clinique.
Anyway, I hope this helped!

I have tried many skin care lines and products. I am looking for ladies opinions for over 40 skin care to treat wrinkles, age spots and puffy under eyes.

Answer
try Ziaja PhytoAktiv creams. I currently use PhytoAktiv Eye Cream for Delicate Skin because I have puffy eyes. It works on me. The site says $17.99 but I got mine for only $3.

try Lancôme Absolue Absolute Replenishing Cream SPF 15. its a bit pricey but it works almost instantly and immediately you'll look younger with a better complexion, also it has SPF. Check out other anti aging products from the site below.

How do you properly care for your skin?

|anonymous

I hear all the time about how important good skin care is but I don't know how to do so. I'm young now and I'd like to properly care for my skin so that I don't end up with horrendous wrinkles and such. Thanks.

Answer
The best way to keep your skin healthy is to be careful in the sun.

Limit time in the sun. Try to stay out of the sun between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. This is when the sunâs rays are strongest. Donât be fooled by cloudy skies. The sunâs rays can pass through clouds. You can also get sunburned if you are in water, so be careful when you are in a pool, lake, or the ocean.

Use sunscreen. Look for a sunscreen with an SPF (sun protection factor) number of 15 or higher. Itâs best to choose sunscreens with âbroad spectrumâ on the label. âWater resistantâ sunscreen stays on your skin even if you get wet or sweat a lot, but it isnât waterproof and needs to be put on about every 2 hours.

Wear protective clothing. A hat with a wide brim can shade your neck, ears, eyes, and head. Look for sunglasses that block 99 to 100 percent of the sunâs rays. If you have to be in the sun, wear loose, lightweight, long-sleeved shirts and long pants or long skirts.

Avoid tanning. Donât use sunlamps or tanning beds. Tanning pills are not approved by the FDA and might not be safe.

Your skin may change with age. But remember, there are things you can do to help. Check your skin often. If you find any changes that worry you, see your doctor.

I don't really wear makeup. Almost never. But I know I don't take proper care of my skin. I'm youngish still, 22. What should a basic daily skin care routine look like? Wash, moisturizer, toner??? Any advice on routine and products is more then welcome :)

Answer
Morning:

1.) gentle foaming cleanser
Purpose gentle foaming gel cleanser and is for sensitive skin and removes makeup

2.) alcohol free toner
Swanson Tea Tree Oil Toner. It is 99% natural (toner is optional, but I use it to restore ph balance of my skin and control my oily skin. Never use a toner with alcohol because it is irritating and drying!

Try Pristine Brallywood Butta Intensive Creme. This is an all natural lotion and it is awesome. CHECK THIS ONE OUT ONLINE! YOU WONT REGRET IT! > <

4.) natural mineral sunblock
Try Jason Natural Mineral Sunblock $6.89 at swansonvitamins.com and retail price is $13. Works for sensitive skin) Avoid sunscreen with oxybenzone(hormone imbalance) and retinol(wrinkles). Use avobenzone, titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, and antioxidants.

Night: gentle foaming cleanser

1.)alcohol free toner

2.)Serum (Jeune D' Age Organics Hydrating, Firming Anti-Aging Serum. OMG BEST NATURAL SERUM EVER! $30 for one month supply. contains 30 packs.)

3.) Use same moisturizer as you use in the day time. Make sure it doesn't contain Spf!

4.) Beauty sleep= healthy, radiant skin

I need some advise on maling products from home?

HERMES

I'm planning on starting my own small business, selling beauty products online from home. Does anyone have any tips or advise on how to mail the products safely? What things do I need to consider when it comes to shipping charges? I don't want to over-charge my customers w/ shipping fees. Which one is more effective, charging S&H fee base on weight or subtotal amount?
This is not for selling on EBAY, I'll have my own website that sell cosmetics and skin care.

Answer
I have found the best way to charge for shipping is actual weight. However, if people are ordering multiple items they will want to know how much shipping is upfront prior to completing their order. In this case, you may want to charge a sliding scale fee for shipping, for example, subtotal is from 0.01 - 9.99 has a shipping charge of $6.00. You can also just say shipping is x% of the subtotal. You don't want to over charge for shipping, but you don't want to incur a loss as a result of shipping either. You can always refund excess shipping charges to the customer in the former of cash or merchandise credit.

As for shipping the actual items....I personally prefer to wrap the item in newsprint and pack the box full of peanuts. For individual items that do not require as much care, the bubble wrapped brown mailers are good too.
