Where can I get a monkey as a pet in Minnesota?

shotgun997

I live in Minnesota and I have always wanted to get a monkey as a pet, where can I get one?
Also does anybody know how much a good pet type one would cost?

Answer
You can't. ALL monkeys are illegal as pets in MN. If you were to illegally purchase one then you would only be sentencing it to death. It would be euthanized as soon as someone found out. And trust me, when you have a monkey people gossip, so someone WOULD find out! If you really love them so much, then you won't take the chance of having one killed. Now, if you decide to move out of state where you can legally own one, please still do your homework on this. Monkeys are not what you think. I have 2 Capuchins and I have the scars all over me to prove it. They bite, scratch, slap, 'scream', pull hair, and more. EVERYDAY. In fact, last night was one of the worst incidents I've ever had with my monkeys. I was giving one of them a bath (which they hate!). Normally he does semi OK. He always scratches me, but he is pretty tolerant with me handling him. Anyways, someone came in the house when I was bathing him and he was already upset about being bathed, but then he got even more upset about someone coming in. Anyways, you would freak if you saw my arms right now. He tore the skin all over both of my arms, hands, and my chest. And 2 seconds later he's just back to hugging and kissing me. That's just normal for a monkey. You cannot get upset when they hurt you. They don't know any better. Are you tolerant enough to deal with that?

Also, you can't have them around your friends. So, if this is for some popularity, forget it now! They hate strangers. They will bite, scratch, or pull hair of any stranger who tries to touch them. Unless you are looking for a lawsuit, you can't have monkeys around strangers. Also, even something little like pulling hair is considered an attack and could cause it to be euthanized.

Monkeys are also very expensive. You won't find a Capuchin for less than $7,500. And that's cheap. However, you must have at least 2 monkeys. 1 monkey alone will be depressed. Human companionship is NOT enough. They will pace back and forth for hours at a time, scratch until their hair falls out, and inflict pain by chewing on their own limbs. You MUST have at least 2 monkeys! Also, you will need a large enclosure, which could easily cost you thousands of dollars. The minimum cage size for most states is 6x6x6, but the larger the better. It's cruel to keep them in a small area. Do you plan on diapering them? Diapers are around $11-12 dollars for a small pack. They can easily use 8 diapers (or more) a day. Diapers for the next 40+ years is not cheap. Monkeys biscuits are a must! NO HUMAN FOOD IS ALLOWED. It kills them. Monkeys get diabetes 100 times quicker than humans. Ice cream, cookies, chips, etc. will kill monkeys. Biscuits are about $25 per bag. Monkeys should be kept on Prima-treats (vitamins) which are $80-140 per package. Yeah, not cheap. Vet bills run about 8 times what a dog vet visit would cost. Most states require at least 1 annual check up. Average price is around $500 give or take some. If you monkey ever needs a surgery, you might as well take out a 2nd morgage to pay for it!

Now, I'm not against anyone owning a monkey. I just can't stand it when people get them and they are not educated enough about how to care for them. 98% of exotics die within the 1st 2 years because the owners aren't educated enough about them. Don't be one of those owners! If you REALLY want one enough that you'd be willing to move out of state, then be sure to research everything about their care, diet, housing, enrichment, behavior, and husbandry. Feel free to email me anytime with any questions you might have. I'd be more than glad to help.

Can I start a business with a name that already in use in a different industry?

Like, for instance, starting a lollipop company called "Lick," when there's a restaurant of the same name.... Maybe that's a bad example since they're both food products. Basically I want to start a skin care line but there's already a restaurant out there (in the same state) with that name. I think it's also the model of showerhead or something like that.

Answer
Yes you can. Provided it is a different industry you most certainly can. One persons answer cited the dispute between Apple computers and the Beatle's Apple records, but they didn't realte the whole story. There were actually two disputes regarding both Apples, the latest being that iTunes violated copyrights as well as an earlier agreement between the two companies that Apple Computer could use the logo for COMPUTER related USE ONLY. Not to download music (which is what the record company think it's for).
If you're sensing my point - great. If you're not. let me spell it out for you. The company you want to start isn't in the same industry as this restaurant. Therefore how could any reasonable person confuse a skin-care company for a restaurant chain? There really aren't ways for you two to violate each others good names by operating businesses in the same state but being in different industries.

But don't just take my word for it. Call the office of your state's Attorney General and they will tell you the same thing.

Having operated a small business in my state and have gone through this personally two years ago I can tell you that you have nothing to worry about- IN THIS SCENARIO.

What juices should i drink for healthy skin?

the_new_gu

I have terrible dry skin on my hands and legs ,pink acne scars on my cheeks and an oily forhead.I'm going home for christmas and am goin to wear a beautiful dress that looks great on my skin tone.I just want my skin to glow.I have access to freshly made carrot and orange juices only (no vegetable juice) everyday. Will this help? Also how many glasses a day should I consume. Also whatelse can I do ?

Answer
I am not sure there are any quick fixes for your skin, but there are items that can help in time with both your dry and oily skin areas and with the scars as well. Foremost of all is to incorporate a healthy diet and lifestyle and make sure that you are getting plenty of all the essential vitamins, minerals and other nutrients needed for optimum health - and drink plenty of good, clean water. A great all around nutritional product is IntraMAX, which contains 415 essential nutrients. We take it around here and swear by it. Another good one is Dr. Mercola's Whole Food Multivitamin Plus.

The biotin suggestion is an excellent one. Good supplements for the skin include hyaluronic acid and silica.

Carrot and orange juice are both good choices. Here is some informaton about important juices and other suggestions for you regarding skin health:

Pomegranate - The hundreds of ruby-colored seeds inside pomegranates were once thought to symbolize fertility, and given the fruit's proven powers as a strong antioxidant, it has given birth to a huge number of products, including designer juice and high-end skin-care creams. The pomegranate's power comes from ellagic acid, a type of polyphenol, which is an antioxidant found in red wine and green tea. Antioxidants seek out and neutralize cell-damaging free radicals that come from the environment (pollution, UV rays) and from the body's natural aging process. Ellagic acid has been shown in some studies to neutralize free radicals more effectively than the other polyphenols found in green tea and red wine. It's also more stable in skin-care products than some other antioxidants, like vitamin C, which can lose potency when exposed to light and air.

Grapefruit - Until the 19th century, grapefruit was grown purely as an ornamental fruit. Rarely eaten, it was known only for its looks - an interesting harbinger of its modern-day promise to improve ours. A 2005 study by the Smell & Taste Treatment and Research Foundation, in Chicago, showed that the scent of grapefruit on women made them seem an average of six years younger to men. Grapefruit's main use in skin care, however, is as a citric acid. Like any alpha hydroxy acid, citric acid loosens the bonds between skin cells, allowing dead ones to fall away, revealing smoother, more radiant skin.

Other benefical juices:

* Blackberry juice. The top vitamins for the skin are vitamins A, B2, B3, B6, B12, C and E. Blackberries have all six, including abundant A, C, and E.

* Dark skinned grapes (juice the seeds and all) contain resveratrol, an important compound for anti-aging as well as plenty of vitamin C and ther good vitamins and nutrients.

* Acai - Though terribly over-hyped with some online products and MLM weight-loss schemes, acai is indeed a super healthy juice loaded with anti-oxidants and nutrients that have many benefits, including benefits for the skin.

* Oranges - Besides being loaded with Vitamin C and Vitamin A, a compound found in oranges and other citrus fruits may prevent sun-related damage when applied directly to the skin before sun exposure, say researchers at the Arizona Cancer Center and may have some similar benefits when consumed directly.

* Blueberries are considered to be among the top three healthiest juices, along with pomegranate and acai.

* Raspberries, Dark Cherries, Apple and Strawberry are all very healthy juices loaded with good vitamins and nutrients for the skin and overall health.

* Though not a fruit, carrots and carrot juice are absolutely loaded with vitamin A, which is an essential nutrient in maintaining not only healthy skin, but strong teeth and bones.

Some other skin care suggestions:

* Mushroom - The extract of several Japanese mushrooms has been shown to reduce inflammation, which can affect collagen in the skin and contribute to changes associated with aging, such as the appearance of fine lines. Reducing that inflammation keeps skin cells vital and functioning and also suppresses irritation so that other active ingredients, like antioxidants, can do their jobs. Shiitake mushrooms have multifaceted benefits for the skin. They contain antioxidants that block proteins known to cause cell breakdown; they provide chemical exfoliation; and they also contain kojic acid, which has a lightening effect on age spots and discoloration, making skin appear brighter over time.

* Pumpkin - Despite its prevalence in favorite sweets, such as pies and muffins, pumpkin is quite acidic. And the enzymes in pumpkin act like salicylic acids, chemical exfoliants that encourage skin cells to turn over more rapidly. Pumpkin is also a carotenoid, a derivative of vitamin A, which is indicated by its orange color, and that makes it an antioxidant in addition to having exfoliating properties. Pumpkin seeds are a good source of zinc and have been used as a natural remedy for acne. Studies show that zinc has an effect similar to that of the common antibiotic tetra

What's the best product for under-eye circles?

Q. I'm fair-skinned and my under eye circles look especially bad. I'm not really looking for a concealer. I'm looking for some sort of eye cream that I can use that helps reduce the look of under-eye circles and brightens the eye area. I know nothing will get rid of them completely, but I'm looking for anything that will help. Something $25 and under is preferable, but I'm up for anything at this point. Thanks!

How Do I Encourage My Daughter to get into Shape?

surfsidecp

My daughter is 19 and very overweight. I have always set an example of eating healty and regular exercising. She won't talk about her weight. I don't bring it up but I do encourage her to make healty changes/choices. Today I offered to get her a personal trainer/nutritionist. She just said no. I am very worried about the long-term affects on her health, career, relationships, etc. I know she is not happy with her body the way it is. What can I do to help?

Answer
The fact that she doesnât want to talk about it means that you havenât found the right avenue to get her to open up. Try asking her how she feels when you try to talk to her about her weight. As HER what to do or say to encourage her. Then do it. Ask her what makes her feel bad, and then stop doing THAT.

Remember, you may not be able to be the one who "saves" her. There is also something about the mother-daughter relationship and the need for children to separate themselves from their parents that can throw a wrench into your perfectly great intentions to help her.

A thought - find out why she is averse to a personal trainer. Does she hate the idea of talking to a thin, fit person about her eating habits? Is she afraid they will work her to death in the exercise department?

Ask yourself if the choices you are modelling will actually cause her to lose weight. I assume you know what you are talking about, but there is still a lot of misinformation about what works for the "very overweight." It may not be what works best for HER body.

Her problem probably feels daunting, and if anything is to change, she needs to âownâ the solution. Try giving her the book "Body Clutter," by Marla Cilley. See reference below.

These may not apply to your situation, but here are some of the things I did with my dd when she was very unhappy about her physical appearanceâ¦.it may not be sufficient for someone who is âveryâ overweight, but it worked great for her. She took off 40 lbs over a number of months, and it has really changed her social life â yes, it isnât fair, but people do treat âfat peopleâ differently. We celebrated milestones along the way, and I made sure that the celebrations were not so much about pounds lost, but about her choosing a goal and making it happen in a healthy way. We planned some of these celebrations in advance, so she could look forward to them. (I also warned her that losing weight too fast was NOT ok, and would NOT be celebrated!) The celebrations were mostly about shopping for new clothes, and sometimes about money with which to enjoy shopping/shows with her friends.

Anyway, here is what I did:
Told her what I thought was beautiful about her.
Told her that in the long run, having a beautiful character would have a bigger effect on her life-long beauty than her outward appearance. (she probably didnât care, but hey, I got it in there anyway).
Told her that most people go through awkward periods when they have more fat than their friends, are taller or shorter, have the wrong sort of hair to be considered stylish (is it an perm or a flat-hair look that is in?), their noses and legs arenât in proper proportion to everything else. As for people who are âmagazine beautifulâ all through their teens, well, itâs not fair, and they probably hate how they look anyway. So anyway, she could look forward to being her own special brand of beautiful when she grew up.
Hollywood stars of the past were all considered beautiful because they were unique, and they were styled in a way that made the most of their uniqueness, whether it was Betty Davisâ eyes, Joan Crawford's shoulders, Marylyn Monroeâs curvy, large hourglass figure, or Audrey Hepburnâs long neck.
Models in magazines are airbrushed and look like normal people without their make-up and designer clothing.
Most people only look their best when they wear clothing that is appropriate to their body type and in colors that are becoming to their skin. Encouraged her to learn her body and what colors make her skin glow with health, and you can feel better every time you get dressed. (in her case, dropped waists to elongate a short waist, open neckline to minimize extra wide shoulders, and blue green, for example).
If she doesnât like something about her appearance, she has the ability to change it to be whatever she wants it to be, but it would be wise to work within what nature provided.
I warned her about anorexia and bulimia as ruining not just her health (like kids even care about that!), but ruins the metabolism so that she could spend her adult life fat and struggling, if she made it that far, or emaciated and concentration-camp-ish.
Told her that it is WAY easier to lose weight now vs later. Older women really struggle to take off weight, especially since people who are fat are have fat cells that are literally secreting hormones that cause further fat storage. (SO not fair!)
I told her that food, while enjoyable, is meant to nourish us, not sedate us. So she can and should enjoy different foods, but not ârestaurant portionsâ that are geared to make people fat.
Encouraged her to pay close attention to feelings of being hungry, vs. feeling satisfied (i.e., not hungry anymore, but not stuffed), vs. feeling full (stuffed). Encouraged her to aim for "satisfied."
Told her that sometimes hunger is really thirst, and to try water first if she thought she had eaten too recently to be really hungry. Besides, the body needs water to burn off fat! If that didn't work, then eat.
Suggested she enjoy mini-meals whenever she felt hungry throughout the day, along with plenty of fresh, clean water. While I encouraged her to eat healthy foods, letting her know that junk foods build fat much better than they build a pretty complexion, I didnât fuss any more than usual about veggies (i.e. gotta eat your salad and veggies at the dinner table before seconds or dessertâ¦.after eating that, she could ask herself if she felt like eating more at that moment, or not).
Told her to start with just 15 minutes of exercise per day, like Flylady advises.
Encouraged her to exercise in ways that she enjoyed, like dancing to music in her room, joining the Y, walking the dog with me, etc. She does NOT love to exercise, but I havenât leaned on her too much about this since she doesnât seem open to hearing about it from me.

Good luck! I know this is a really hard problem.

Iama 15 year old boy teenager and I really dont care too much about my look but latley ive been breaking out like crazy in my face. This kinda pisses me off because all the girls that used to like me kinda vanished away... so i was just wondering if there was anything i could other then buying something, because I would feel really gay buying proactive or something... and i already no the washing your face thing lol.

Answer
HI BigShining

Here are a few testimonials on how to heal the issue.

EUCALYPTUS OIL
11/24/2007: Vinny (highbury21@gmail.com) from Atlanta, GA writes: "A quick, cheap, & healthy way to prevent and heal acne (even blackheads) is to use Eucalyptus Aromatherapy Oil. A big bottle is about $8-9 and can be found at GNC. Make sure you dilute it with water as it is very potent like other oils. You should have very good success with this and should notice HUGE differences within a day."

APPLE CIDER Vinegar AND ALOE VERA FOR ACNE
10/04/2007: Martha from Lawrenceville, GA writes: "I've always had trouble with acne -- I could never get my skin completely under control. ACV helped -- taking it internally -- but I still broke out in a monthly cycle. I started using aloe vera gel on my face a few weeks ago, and my skin has cleared up dramatically. I've not had one breakout, and my skin is getting to be so pretty! I just use a generic aloe vera gel that I picked up in WalMart."

COCONUT OIL AND ALOE VERA FOR ACNE
10/03/2007: Jennifer from Kirkland, Washington writes: "I have been using a mixture of coconut oil and aloe vera gel (4:1 ratio) on my face for my acne for only 2 weeks and it has almost completely cleared it up. I have had moderate to severe acne since I was 13 (I am now 37), and have tried everything under the sun to diminish it. Some things have helped more than others, but this is the first time my skin has felt so good and looked so good in almost 25 years

Best of health to you

is this safe to masturbate with?

Brandonn

I currently masturbate with the kirkland branded body lotion, and i used to use vaseline intensive care. i'm just wondering it those are safe for masturbation in the sense that will the ingredients effect my penis or anything else down there

Answer
Some lotions are very strong and usually irritates the urethra of your penis.
The safest that you can use is; baby oil or baby creams.
If they are safe for the delicate baby skin, then they surely are safe for your penis too.
Have a good time!

Answer
Before I say anything.. let me just point out that no matter how hard you work at the gym and no matter how long you stay at the gym, it will get you NO WHERE unless you stick to a healthy diet plan. You can do 1,000 crunches a day for all I care, trust me it won't do anything; you first need to remove the layer of fat that's hiding your muscles.
If you want to lose ANY amount of weight, you shouldn't eat any man-made/ processed foods (like dessert, fast foods, fried foods, etc.) This is not the end of the world.. in fact, you will actually start to feel a lot more energetic and feel lighter. Trust me, once you start, you will not WANT to go back to your old ways, since eating healthy and organically will improve your skin, mood, energy, confidence, and will tone your body. If you crave sugars and carbohydates, let them be derived from fruits and vegetables. You also want to eat protein foods for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (like egg whites, nuts, chicken, fish, etc.) Try to make breakfast your largest meal since it will not make you crave foods later on during the day. Also make sure to drink plenty of water.
Once you reach your goal weight, THEN you can slowly and moderately start introducing a slice of cake here and there. But remember, not two or three slices of cake, but ONE serving size or smaller. At first, you will count down the days until you can eat "normally" again... but as I said before.. turns out you won't want to put the unneccessary crap in your body.

Now that we have the diet out of the way, and pointed out its significant importance, we can move on to the workout plan. Do strength training 2-3 times a week, not everyday since your muscles need time to heal. You can do upper body on Monday, abs on Wednesday, and legs on Friday. And don't forget... cardio cardio cardio! You can do any type of cardio for 30-45 min a day 5-6 times a week.

From my personal experience, do NOT stare at yourself in the mirror looking for results the day after you begin! Results will come from inside first.. then they will start to become visible. Set a LONG-term goal, like say next summer.... because if you set it until let's say next month for a wedding, the pressure will be on and you won't do as great as you want to. Try not to screw up, but if you have your slips here and there, just remember that tomorrow's a brand, new day and you can start where you left off. Good luck!

How to get 6 pack abs possibly without equipment?

ok i am 5'4 150 lbs. i'm willing to workout and motivated to keep doing it. what are good exercises and what should i eat. when do you think i will start seeing results (just to know if i am going towards the right direction). so i really need to lose weight to be fit for h.s. basketball..........btw i play basketball and do taekwondo.

How can I convince my mum to let me be vegan?

Nahtaliee

I would generally be buying the majority of my own food (I'm 16 and have a part time job). I guess I would learn how to cook it to, but she thinks it's bad for your health and stuff. Is it really bad?

Also, what are some tips for when you first turn vegan? Thanks :)

Answer
the best way to convince your mother is to be well educated about the subject, learn as much as you can and bombard her information such as complete proteins from vegetables (if you don't know what are the types of essential amino acids that humans need you have a lot of work to do), read up on nutrition and what are the essential vitamins and minerals that you can get from plants, you should also need to inform your mother that your lifestyle is going to be much better than your previous lifestyle. its like going to a board room meeting with all the top executives and you need to convince the executives (this case your mum) that the product you're about to market (being a vegan) is better than the previous one (being an omnivore). you also need to keep in mind that she's your mother and all she cares about is your well being and bringing you up to her healthy daughter, ergo you need to give her a talk that will convice her that your vegan lifestyle is healthy and it has a lot of benefits. you have to tell her that youre going to be a vegan for 3 months (after that you'll have enough proof that this is not just a fad and youre accustomed to the lifestyle and will never come back to eating meat). Being a vegan also carries a deep moral and ethical attachment, you need to prove yourself by being well informed, well read and well fed. and if youre not a vegetarian yet, i highly advised to tackle a gradual progression, which means you need to be better at it every day like knowing what to eat, what not to eat, whats good, complex carbs, simple carbs, complete proteins, incomplete proteins, dha, epa. theres a lot of work to do in your part to be a vegan, its not just a diet, its a lifestyle, its a way of life.

TIPS: I started as a vegetarian (no meat no eggs no milk but i wasnt well informed enough to know everything i was 14, i didnt know what gelatin was after a month of gradual progression i knew almost everything there was to know about being a vegan) most important tip gradually take out foods out of your diet (diet means youre eating habits, what you put in your mouth) so that you wont relapse because youre going to crave your old favourite foods since your body havent adjusted to the vegan regime, once youre finally comfortable of being a vegetarian (3 months of no meat should be your gauge, unless you are pesto-veg) you will start to crave for vegetarian foods which is great. then its time to up the ante, go vegan after that but during your vegetarian phase you should read up on what NOT to eat (gelatin, glycerine, milk, eggs, made from a factory that manufactures milk/eggs,meat products) learn how to read nutrition labels, learn what products are vegan approved and was not tested on animals, remember wearing leather is just as foul as eating meat (ripping an animals skin is not better than cutting it nor eating it)

RECAP: 1. Take a gradual progression approach (3 months vegetarian/taking meat out of your diet)
2. Be well informed (start with goveg.org)
3. Be morally and ethically aware on whats going on (peta.org)
4. Being a vegan is not just the way you eat, its a lifestyle, its a way of life
5. Keep learning new things about veganism everyday, the beauty about life is you cannot out evolve your lifespan, there are enough levels to move up. Dont stop and say "i have arrived now", take that mentally off and be humble because you will learn new things about the lifestyle everyday or atleast execute it well enough
6. Personal resolve, youre incharge and youre having an impact wether its one of your priorities or not, youre saving the planet, you reduce greenhouse gasses, youre ethical and moral standards should be at par with your ideoligies as a vegan
7 HAVE FUN, if youre not having fun and youre not happy about it, that means youre not doing it right and its not for you

When did becoming thin become a must for society?

FaiLa

Back in the day, if you were heavy set, you were considered rich, lived a good life, and had food on the table.

Now fat people generally are frowned upon, looked at with no self control, and un healthy. Now being thin is considered a good thing because it showed that you took care of yourself and was a sign of "beauty"

What changed the social status of one's weight?

Answer
pre 20th c- "Fat was seen as a "silken layer" that graced the frames of elegant
ladies. It was regarded as "stored-up force," equated with reserves of
energy and strength. Plumpness was deemed a sign of emotional well
being; it was identified with a good temperament, with a clean con
science, with temperate and disciplined habits, and above all with good
health."

20th c- Idealisation of thinness came about due to "modernist aesthetic with its idealization of
speed and motion, and its penchant for stripping things down to their essential forms" (this size would still be considered large today.

Today's slim came about post ww2- due to fashion, health and insurance companies campaigning for Americans to loose weight. ". Weight loss techniques began to be seen as life-prolonging." Principles of the ideal weight emerged.

Where can I get a full Brazilian wax?

I'm wanting to get one for prom.
The one that takes care of all hair.
I like in Kentucky if that makes a difference.

Answer
Where?
Call Customer Service @ a salon nearest you or go to YELP or Craigslist and read reviews or post on their message boards there from your city.

I had one but they grow back 3 weeks later. They also sell $25 lotion to apply everyday. I didn't buy them, because I also have all the things I needed, I've waxed myself before. Once you stop, the hair will grow back like before. The only ones to benefit is the salon. There is NOTHING PERMANENT, not even laser. Once you stopped? They will grow back like before, it's permanent FOR YOU, because you have to keep at it. . . . for EVER & EVER.

The Brazilian Bikini Wax - Leaves a vertical stripe in front, two to three fingers in width. Hair is not removed from the labia. Hair is removed from the tush. Hair may be removed from the butt crack if woman wishes.

The Brazilian Bikini Wax method is currently very popular and is offered in many salons and skincare clinics. If you are considering waxing as a do-it-yourself project, a consultation with a professional is advised beforehand. We strongly recommend doing as much research as possible to determine if this method should be attempted at home. We are not suggesting that a "Playboy Bikini Wax" job can be done on one's own body nor are we recommending that one even attempt this procedure.

ALL AT HOME WAXING IS AT YOUR OWN RISK. WE MAKE NO GUARANTEES OR PROMISES WHATSOEVER REGARDING THE USE OF HAIR REMOVAL WAX IN AN AT-HOME SITUATION.

The FDA has issued recent warnings about resistant strains of Staph and some hair removal professionals feel waxing exposes clients/users to unacceptable health risks. Sanitary preparation of the area is vital - as in all procedures which can introduce invasive bacteria into the body and blood stream.

THE FDA CAUTIONS THAT THESE PRODUCTS SHOULD NOT BE USED BY PEOPLE WITH DIABETES AND CIRCULATORY PROBLEMS WHO ARE PARTICULARLY SUSCEPTIBLE TO INFECTION. WAXING CAN LEAVE THE SKIN SORE AND OPEN TO INFECTION. WAXES SHOULD NOT BE USED OVER VARICOSE VEINS, MOLES, OR WARTS. THEY SHOULD NOT BE USED ON THE EYELASHES, INSIDE THE NOSE OR EARS, ON THE NIPPLES, OR ON IRRITATED, CHAPPED, SUNBURNED, OR CUT SKIN.

Visit youtube, for Brazilian wax. It's hilarious!

How do I get my 8 week old golden retriever to stop biting at my kids? I know it is playful, but it hurts and?

Tammy

he broke the skin yesterday and made her bleed.

Answer
Puppy teeth are razor sharp! Your pup is doing what comes naturally and had he been with his littermates and mom a little longer, they would all help with what we call bite inhibition. The pup would learn how, when and how much "force" to use when mouthing in play . Now, its up to you to provide that feedback to the pup. As the pup cannot distinguish the when and how much, any mouthing must be off limits. Be sure to get a lot of chew type treats and toys...(try a chilly-bone, deer antlers, kong toy...do NOT use rawhide chews). Always have an adult supervise play with the children and always teach dog and kids that play ends when the dog gets too excited to inhibit biting. At this age , you need to correct immediately or the dog will NOT understand what is going on. Also, he needs to be corrected the way his littermates would have done...the first thing you try is "YELP" when he mouthes, and set him away from you..indicating that the bite ends interaction. Give it maybe 3 minutes and resume play. If it gets out of hand, repeat the correction and distract the pup with a chew toy. This should take care of things...but if he doesn't "get it"...repost for further tips.
Either way, don't expect perfection..just stay with it. Most of us can probably remember that puppy stage...my arms were covered with little teeth scratches...but just keep working on it. Try and get the kids (and yourself) to not get frustrated or angry, don't yell or correct harshly...just stay calm and expect good things..it will happen and your pup will be out of this phase in a couple of months.

How come many people aren't grateful and don't appreciate unarmed security guards that much?

Seekerguy1

Hi all. A friend of mine is a security guard in a retail store. He's an unarmed security guard. I've gone in the store several times and I've randomly seen how some folks there, particularly some of the store managers and some other store personnel, bully him around and act like he's an armed police officer that can makes arrests and just harass anybody on any level of suspicion of shoplifting on the spot. The store is in a somewhat dangerous area where shootings, stabbings and overall crime are unfortunately almost common there. If somebody tries to steal from the store, his company policy says he can't tackle or have a physical confrontation with anybody unless it's out of self-defense. He can deter suspects but that doesn't work on people who want to really steal things. Of course, this means the suspect/thief/shoplifter usually gets away. I feel sorry for him. He stands on his feet for over 8 hours a day and it looks like nobody in there cares about the public, security services he provides to them. Due to his job, money situation and job location, he's stuck between a rock and a hard place. I've noticed many other jobs that are usually low paying with little to no benefits don't get much respect from others as well. He told me that some of the store personnel there have threatened to fire him because they claim he "lets shoplifters get away." He's just doing his job as much as he can in my opinion. This brings up the question. How come many people aren't grateful and don't appreciate unarmed security guards that much? What do you think? Any answers or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Answer
It's because many places want their security to look like cops with uniform shirts and badges. The main job of a security officer is to observe and report. Here you have the right to ask someone who comes on the property for ID and if in a retail store you can ask to see a receipt. Many times security is called to do things that aren't their job. Once when I was working security I was called because there were several expired license plates in the parking lot - someone thought I should be able to put tickets on the vehicles or something.

If you see someone in a retail store fill their pockets, you then need to have several people follow them and you can't at any time loose sight of them until they exit the store. Once they are outside the store and past the last checkout, you may now ask them to return to the store, but you have to be able to tell them "You have a watch from the jewelry department in your left front pants pocket." You can ask them to come to a back office, but you can only keep them there for a reasonable amount of time and the cops must be called. If they take off running, you just get the best description you can and call the cops.

The big problem is, most security is there because the business's insurance company requires someone to be their 24 hours. Security can also be required for contracts or to get grants. The average person who works with you often doesn't understand why security is required there or what the job of security really is. I worked with an armored truck company for a couple months when they were short people. There we were required to carry guns. When we showed up to service an ATM someone wanted us to break up a fight in the parking lot. Our rule is, the guns are to protect our lives only. If there is trouble, we stay in the truck until the cops get there, we don't walk into trouble. I find myself making $9/hr with no benefits, so why should I chase a suspect who might be armed and risk getting shot or stabbed?

You have to be think skinned to be security, you have to know your job, what you can and can't do.

How to lose butt and thigh fat in a month?

Megan

Hi :) so I've noticed the last 2 years or so my butt and thighs have gotten slightly bigger. I know that big butts are supposed to be 'sexy' but really I don't care what anyone else thinks, I just want to be comfortable in my own skin. So I'm looking for a way to lose that excess weight, especially since school's out and it's beginning to feel like bikini weather. I swim once a week for 45 minutes (lessons), I play basketball with my school (so at the moment I'm not playing since school's out for summer) and I've started jogging/running for 30 mins to a hour this past week. Obviously I'm not expecting to see results after a week, but I'd be hoping to see results after a month. Please keep in mind I'm a 15 year old girl. I have started to eat less sweets and am trying to cut out more carbs, but I don't want to tell my parents coz they'd just tell me not to be silly and that I'm beautiful just the way I am (all parents have to say that!) so I don't want any major diet changes that they'd cop on to. So any advice you have on losing that butt and thigh fat as quick as possible would be great :) thanks in advance!

Answer
I've been trying to do the same thing and the things that have worked for me or atleast helped are

-Lunges (I do about 30 but you can move up if you want to see faster progress)
-Squats (I do about 30 but you can move up if you want to see faster progress)
- Leg Highs (Its a yoga pose - 90 secs)
-Bend Knees (Its a yoga pose - 90 secs)
-Knee Circles

They hurt and take a lot of time to get use to but they really help. My thighs already are beginning to become more firm and they're starting to tone. Good luck! xx :)

I need some advise on maling products from home?

HERMES

I'm planning on starting my own small business, selling beauty products online from home. Does anyone have any tips or advise on how to mail the products safely? What things do I need to consider when it comes to shipping charges? I don't want to over-charge my customers w/ shipping fees. Which one is more effective, charging S&H fee base on weight or subtotal amount?
This is not for selling on EBAY, I'll have my own website that sell cosmetics and skin care.

Answer
I have found the best way to charge for shipping is actual weight. However, if people are ordering multiple items they will want to know how much shipping is upfront prior to completing their order. In this case, you may want to charge a sliding scale fee for shipping, for example, subtotal is from 0.01 - 9.99 has a shipping charge of $6.00. You can also just say shipping is x% of the subtotal. You don't want to over charge for shipping, but you don't want to incur a loss as a result of shipping either. You can always refund excess shipping charges to the customer in the former of cash or merchandise credit.

As for shipping the actual items....I personally prefer to wrap the item in newsprint and pack the box full of peanuts. For individual items that do not require as much care, the bubble wrapped brown mailers are good too.

Some of the words that I would like to see how can be played up are:
Luminous
Radiant
Glow
Bloom
Anything having to do with beautyâ¦
any suggestions???

The name needs to be Sophisticated, easy to say and spell and original (French, Italian and Hebrew adaptations are OK) and less than 2-3 words.

Thanks for your help!

Answer
The reason they charge half price is because students do it. I know exactly what you mean, I have a local beauty school who offers me free haircuts...and that sounds fine and dandy except for the fact that it's some 18 year old girl who just learned a few weeks ago.
Skin is precious, I wouldn't do it there. Save up and go somewhere else.

Im thinking about getting that proative solution.

What is some information about Bulgarian culture?

Answer
For thirteen centuries, Bulgaria - the cradle of Slav culture, the land of Orpheus and Spartacus has given the world men of great achievements, mysterious Thracian treasures and burial tombs, magnificent frescos and many brilliant examples of ancient applied arts.

Bulgarian festivals and customs date back to ancient times when men tried to appease the natural elements and trembled before their power. Full of beauty, gaiety, mystical voices, fiery dances and brightly colored costumes - Bulgarian folklore has to be seen, felt and experienced!

Fire dancing is the most ancient mysterious ritual - barefooted dancers performing on burning embers. This religious and mystical ritual for expelling illness, for health and fruitfulness is one that must be seen to believe it.

The Festival of Roses is a lovely festival celebrated in the Rose Valley near the town of Kazanluk (at the foot of the Balkan Range) on the first weekend of June every year. The festival is a pageant of beauty in the unique Rose Valley. In the run-up of the event, a Queen Rose beauty contest is held in several rounds. Artists, actors, circus performers, writers and singers flock to Kazanluk at the start of June. The Bulgarian oleaginous rose yields 70 percent of the world's attar of roses used by every perfume company as an essential component of its products.

The history tells that in the Thracian provinces of the Roman Empire, the Thracians grew 12 varieties of roses, one of them known as the "Thracian Rose".

In the 1270, during the crusades, Count de Gruye brought the Damascus rose from Syria to the valley of Kazanlak where conditions proved excellent. Experts claim that Bulgarian roses and rose oil owe their unique properties to the local climate and the generous soil. The temperatures in February, when roses bud, are ideal. The blossoms are picked in May and June, when high humidity is very important. So is the cinnamon-forest soil in the area and, last but not least, the remarkable skills of the Bulgarian rose-oil producers.

Kukeri Carnival held in the region of Dupnitsa and Pernik is a splendid festival of brightly colored masks and costumes which marks the beginning of the spring. Every participant makes his own multi-coloured personal mask, covered with beads, ribbons and woollen tassels. The heavy swaying of the main mummer is meant to represent wheat heavy with grain, and the bells tied around the waist are intended to drive away the evil spirits and the sickness.

The Bulgarian voices are called to be mystery. Experts are still trying to explain the incredible range of the Bulgarian voice and the variety of songs. Its unique sound was universally acknowledged by the fact that the popular Rhodope song "Izlel e Delyu hiadutin" sung by the talented singer Valya Balkanska was recorded on a gold record and was sent as a message to outer space on the American spaceship Voyager in 1977. The world is discovering it again and again at major folklore and song contests in Italy, France, England and Ireland from which the Bulgarian music and dance ensembles invariably walk off with the first prizes.

The folk festivals "Pirin Sings" and Rozhen Sings are the best-known Bulgarian folklore festivals. Last year alone, some 150,000 visitors from Bulgaria and abroad came together to witness the show by the 4, 000 performers on each festival. They came not only to see these inspiring events, but also to learn about the curious world of Bulgarian folklore traditions.

Applied crafts have gradually emerged from the narrow frame work of strictly domestic life to become an art which breeds art: Bulgarian embroidery with its intricate geometrical figures, Bulgarian rugs and carpets with their vibrant colours, exquisitely painted Bulgarian ceramics, finely ornamented Bulgarian fretwork and superbly fashioned Bulgarian jewellery.

The Samovodene Market in Veliko Turnovo, the Permanent National Exhibition of Folk Art in Oreshak near Troyan and the Etura architectural and ethnographic complex near Gabrovo are all original museums of the revived beauty of Bulgarian handicrafts. You are bound to find your own particular memento from Bulgaria here - a small carved wooden wine vessel, a Troyan pottery set, a fleecy Rhodope rug, an original piece of silver jewellery, a finely embroidered silk blouse or a colourful carpet.

THANKS!

Answer
Here is my skin care routine and it works wonders. Itâs good for ANY skin type and is a great routine for anyone wanting to improve their skin, no matter what age, sex (yes boys can use it too), or skin problems you may have. The problem with most of the products out there in the market is that they contain detergent which will remove dirt, oil, and makeup but it also strips your skin of water. It's not labeled as detergent in the ingredients but it's called Sodium Laureth Sulfate or Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (check the ingredients on your current cleanser). When your skin is dehydrated, it breaks down more quickly and will cause you to age faster because you lose elasticity in your skin (starts to droop and wrinkle). That's why most skin care is a huge marketing ploy. They sell you stuff that appears to work so you use it but then you begin to age prematurely so they can sell you wrinkle creams and things of that nature much faster than you ordinarily would need them... Detergents also leave a residue on your skin that causes blackheads. If you follow this regime and do it twice a day (morning & night) I promise you will have much clearer skin and you'll be slowing down the aging process.

Step 1 Eye Makeup Remover: Find one that is half oil, half water that you need to shake up before using. These remove makeup fast with less rubbing needed so you wonât be irritating your eyes as much. Remove all eye and brow makeup with this. I use Clarins Instant Eye Makeup Remover which you can buy at Sephora or some department stores ($26.00).
Step 2 Cream Cleanser: Get a cream cleanser that is NOT water activated. Simply squeeze out an amount about the size of a quarter into your DRY hands and rub it together, then onto your DRY face in circular motions, avoiding the eye area. You can then rinse it off with water or a damp washcloth but make sure you don't use any water when you are working this into your face at first. I use Boots Botanics Organic Nourishing Cleanser which I got at Target ($7.99).
Step 3 Alcohol-Free Toner: Use it on two cotton pads and wipe off your face in downward and outward strokes. Toner will remove any excess cleanser on your face, leaving it completely clean and fresh. I use Neutrogena's Alcohol-Free Toner from Target ($6.49).
Step 4 Day Moisturizer & Night Cream: A daytime moisturizer will help act as a barrier for your skin to hold in moisture (not oil) so even if you are oily, use one! If you're worried about shine, go for an oil-free formula and if you are dry, use a richer moisturizer. At night, use a night cream (not the same daytime moisturizer) because night creams replenish the moisture you lost during the day. Just be sure mineral oil is not one of the ingredients in the NIGHT cream (can be in the day moisturizer) because mineral oil acts as a seal so nothing will penetrate your skin if that is in it. I use Boots Expert Light Moisturizing Lotion for day from Target (donât know price but it wasnât expensive) and Boscia Recharging Night Moisture from Sephora ($44.00).
Step 5 Eye Cream: Even if you have no wrinkles there yet, use a day eye cream. When you start to see wrinkles, you will need to get a night eye cream as well as your daytime one. Use a tiny amount (about half the size of a grain of uncooked rice) and rub it between both ring fingers. Then starting by the side of the nose, gently tap it into the skin while moving across the bone surrounding the eye and over your brows. Do not rub it all over your eyes and your lids because the skin there is extremely thin and cannot take so much moisture. I use Clarins' Eye Contour Gel which you can buy at Sephora or some department stores ( $48.00).
Step 6 Lip Balm & Chapstick: Lip balm replenishes moisture in your lips so it will heal chapped lips. Chapstick only acts as a seal to help protect your lips from getting chapped but it does not add moisture to them. Be sure your lip balm does not contain wax (unless it's beeswax as that is natural), petroleum, petrolatum, or mineral oil. I use Burts Bees from Target (I think itâs $2.99).
Step 7 Yoghurt Mask: Go to the grocery store and find either a lemon, orange, or pineapple-flavored yoghurt (any brand is fine) and apply it all over your face and let it sit for 10-15mins. Do this every day if you have bad acne or just 1-2 a week to exfoliate. Rinse it off with lukewarm water. The cultures in yoghurt help neutralize the bacteria in pores (a blemish is simply a bacteria-filled pore) and the citric acid in the lemon, orange, or pineapple will help you exfoliate the top layer of skin which will be much better than using a scrub.
I hope this has helped but if you have any questions or need clarification, pls feel free to e-mail me. You can get my e-mail on my profile.

Answer
For clothes you should have:
5 to 7 pairs of jeans. Try to buy them in all different washes, cuts, and styles. You can get them from the same store, just be sure there is something noticeably different between each pair.
1 or 2 pairs of sweatpants. Get one pair in a soft, light heather-grey shade, and one in another color that flatters your skin tone and eye/hair color. These are great for lazy or sick days, when you're running late, just want to be comfortable, or cold days when you're not in the mood for jeans. BUT make sure they fit nicely. Tight around the butt, but not too tight. Get pairs with drawstrings to adjust the waist size.
2 to 3 skirts, depending on how often you wear them. But, every girl should have at least one denim skirt in their closet!
3 to 5 pairs of shorts. This depends on how often you wear shorts, or if your school allows them.
10 to 15 fitted tees. try Hollister, American Eagle, Aeropostale, Abercrombie, Wetseal, etc.
3 to 5 plain, solid colored layering tees. These are just those plain-colored, but still fitted and cute. They can also be accessorized as much as you like. Try to find 1 or 2 bright ones, and the rest soft and/or neutral shades.
4 or 5 hoodies are a good idea. These are the most common way to stay warm and cute in the winter time.
1 pair of good-quality tennis shoes for gym class. If you don't have good quality shoes, you'll get blisters and be very uncomfortable. My tennis shoes are all dirty, but they are comfortable. It's gym and fashion is not imperative.
4 to 10 pairs of other shoes to wear outside of gym class. Try to mix it up with heels, flip flops, flats, wedges, tennis shoes (such as Converse, Nike or VANS) and boots.
1 pair of Ugg boots and 1 pair of Ugg slippers should be good in the winter. If you don't like Uggs, find another pair of cute, furry boots that are warm and cozy; every girl needs at least one pair.
Accessorizing depends on how often you like to accessorize. So, if you rarely add anything to outfits, start! But stick with 1 or 2 pieces in each category. If you love accessorizing, embrace it, but don't go crazy!
Necklaces are important. If no other jewelry, a girl should always have her signature necklace. That one you wear no matter if you're shopping or playing a sport.
Bracelets. Unless if you're wearing bangles, the rule is to only wear one bracelet total. Not one on each wrist! Try to find a charm bracelet or tennis bracelet to wear when you dress up or as a statement piece. The maximum you should go with your bracelets is 2, but on the same wrist and make sure they go together!
Earrings. If you have more than 4 pairings an ear, it looks totally tacky! Only have the 2 pairings on your lobes, and either get your second holes (also on your lobes), OR get one cartilage piercing.
For bags, this can vary a lot. You can get a big tote or a regular backpack, or both! Depending on your outfit, you may want something more casual or something more classy.

For supplies you should have:
12 #2 Pencils
2 Glue Sticks
1 White Eraser
1 Pkg. Washable Felt Markers
1 Pair of Scissors
1 Pencil Case
10 Pocket Folders
2 Pkg. Lined Paper
1 Pkg. Plain Paper
10 Blue Pens
3 Red Pens
1 Ruler
1 Pkg. Pencil Crayons
2 1" Binders
8 Subject Dividers
1 Scientific Calculator
1 Geometry Set
1 Pocket Dictionary
1 Thesaurus
1 Pencil Sharpener
3 Highlighter Pens
1 Agenda Book/Student Planner
1 Stapler

For hair stuff you should have:
1 Large Shampoo Bottle (Garnier Fructis)
1 Conditioner (Pantene)
2 Cans of Hair Spray
1 Hair Straightener
1 Curling Iron
1 Blow Dryer
20 Bobby Pins
10 Clips
10 Hair Bands
(Depending on if you hair is naturally curly or straight you may need more or less stuff)

For skin care you should have:
Face Wash
Moisturizer
Lotion
Body Wash

Good luck! I hope this helped! :)
