How much does professional child day care cost in the Los Angeles area for a 2 month old newborn?

I am 29 weeks pregnant and I won't be getting maternity leave because I have my own business doing massage & skin care, so once my son is born, I can only afford to MAYBE take 1-2 months off of work altogether. I need to find him some decent child care, some one trust worthy and professional. My mother-in-law can take care of him maybe 1-2 days a week, but I do not want to depend on that...

Answer
Maybe you can incorporate your new bundle into the business after a month or so you will feel a lil better and i dunno if your business is at home or elsewhere but you could do a few here and there and have a bassinet by and later they make these fences in a circle and the baby can play inside without being hurt. I dunno about child care. These days its really yourself you can trust and sometimes you cant even rely on that! LOL!! I have 2 kids and i stay at home. My mother in law would keep them forever if she had her way. I would take things slow and consider getting an assistant. Someone who you trust to care for you and the baby. She can watch out the baby while you do a rub down and she can fill in if baby gets too fussy. I hope you figure it all out and remember if it weren'tnt for that baby you wouldn't have any drive, Well you will see waht i mean after you have it!

What skin lightening product is best?

Labels:

skin care questionnaire on Mary Kay Skin Care Survey Mary Kay Skin Care Survey Mary Kay Skin
skin care questionnaire image

Nikkou

I want to become a few shades lighter-like the skin colour that's underneath my arms...or hidden beneath clothes. I've been considering skin lightening/whitening creams but don't believe they actually worked-or that my skin would be toned.
Has anyone tried something that worked? How long did it take for your results? How many shades lighter?

Answer
I am assuming that your facial skin is darker than your body skin (or "hidden beneath clothes"). If you have naturally (light) tan to dark/olive skin tones, then your skin is more prone to darkening due to unprotected sun exposure.

So first tip: it is IMPERATIVE that you wear board-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF 15 or greater that absorbs both UV-A and UV-B rays. Sure, a naturally dark-skinned person has a build-in sunscreen provided by their melanin content, but it is NOT adequate photoprotection.

It is difficult to answer your questions as I do not know exactly what shade of skin color you have now. Just understand that you cannot BLEACH your skin with the available products.

All over-the-counter (OTC) "skin-lightening" products are low in strength and mostly work on superficial hyperpigmentation by inhibiting the melanin formation process, not removing (bleaching) the pigments. A lot of the products contain hydroquinone (HQ), the GOLD-STANDARD for treating hyperpigmentation, at 1-2%. Results may take at least 2-3 months with COMPLIANCE, DILIGENCE, AND PATIENCE combined with a well-design skin care regimen for optimal results. If your skin discoloration is non-responsive to OTC HQ, then your next choice is a prescription-strength HQ at the strength of 4% or greater that you get from a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon. One downside of HQ is that you have to take a break 1-month break after 3/4-month treatment because the skin can develop tachyphylaxis (non-responsive to the drug).

If you are sensitive to HQ for whatever reason, then there are a list of other alternatives (see source #). But, you have to understand that you the trade-off is less efficacy.

Furthermore, there is NO SUCH THING as the BEST skin-lightening product. You select a skin care product based solely on SKIN TYPE, not age, sex, weather, etc. Thus, a "best product" for one person may be the "worst" product for another. If you are unsure of your complete skin type, take the questionnaire developed by clinical research, board-certified dermatologist, and author of The Skin Type Solutions, Dr. Leslie Baumann. Register first then take the quiz; afterwards, visit the specified forum that is tailored to your unique skin type for product recommendations and discussions about skin-lightening (products).

Second tip: use a well-formulated acid exfoliant.

Try: Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Stress Control 3-in-1 Hydrating Acne Treatment with 2% salicylic acid (Oily Skin) | Alpha Hydrox AHA Enhanced Lotion with 10% glycolic acid (Dry Skin)

Third tip: use a product with hydroquinone

Try: Paula's Choice RESIST Remarkable Skin Lightening Lotion with 2% HQ & 7% glycolic acid (Dry Skin); Paula's Choice RESIST Remarkable Skin Lightening Gel with 2% HQ & 2% salicylic acid (Oily Skin) | Skin Effects by Dr. Jeffrey Dover Advanced Brightening Complex with 2% HQ, kojic acid, and retinol (Oily/Dry) | Ambi Skin Discoloration Fade Cream, Normal or Oily Skin with 2% HQ. If you choose one from Paula's Choice, then you do not need an extra exfoliant.

How cold does the water have to be to close your pores?

Natasha

cause I think the cold water is drying my skin out, or maybe i was opening my pores with the water too hot?

Answer
Who ever told you cold water closes pores is a liar.

1) (Very) cold water temperature can shock and burn the skin, impairing the skin barrier, making it less efficient at preventing water loss from your skin. A healthy skin barrier contains different types of lipids (ceramides, cholesterol, & fatty acids). These lipids create a hydrophobic barrier to prevent water from evaporating up into the air.

2) (Very) hot water temperature can shock and burn the skin. Hot water cannot open pores - that is another lie. Warm water is enough to "soften" the pore so extraction is made easy. Please do not steam the face. The same consequence found in cold temperature applies here.

3) the size of pores is predetermined by genetics. Plus, if genetics says you have very oily skin, that is obvious that you have enlarged pores. As you constantly produce oil, your pore size expand and is exhausted. You can only go so far with skin care products. Even the most absorbent product will do so much or nothing if your oil glands is hyperactive. The only want to stop oil production is with the prescription drug, isotretinoin, because it shrinks the oil glands --> no more oil --> no more acne or blackheads.

4) you can "refine" the shape of the pore if you have a clog. Use exfoliant like salicylic acid that can exfoliate within the pore to dislodge the clog.

Bottom line: always wash yourself with lukewarm/tepid warm and use a gentle cleanser that is suitable for your skin type. You cannot close or open your pores. Sorry if I sound dismal, but that is the honest truth.

If you are unsure of your complete skin type, take the questionnaire developed by world-renown and broad-certified dermatologist, Dr. Leslie Baumann. Register then take the questionnaire; afterward, visit the specified forum that is tailored to your unique skin type for production recommendation and discussions.

Best wishes

How can I convince my mum to let me be vegan?

Labels:

beauty health and lifestyle image

Nahtaliee

I would generally be buying the majority of my own food (I'm 16 and have a part time job). I guess I would learn how to cook it to, but she thinks it's bad for your health and stuff. Is it really bad?

Also, what are some tips for when you first turn vegan? Thanks :)

Answer
the best way to convince your mother is to be well educated about the subject, learn as much as you can and bombard her information such as complete proteins from vegetables (if you don't know what are the types of essential amino acids that humans need you have a lot of work to do), read up on nutrition and what are the essential vitamins and minerals that you can get from plants, you should also need to inform your mother that your lifestyle is going to be much better than your previous lifestyle. its like going to a board room meeting with all the top executives and you need to convince the executives (this case your mum) that the product you're about to market (being a vegan) is better than the previous one (being an omnivore). you also need to keep in mind that she's your mother and all she cares about is your well being and bringing you up to her healthy daughter, ergo you need to give her a talk that will convice her that your vegan lifestyle is healthy and it has a lot of benefits. you have to tell her that youre going to be a vegan for 3 months (after that you'll have enough proof that this is not just a fad and youre accustomed to the lifestyle and will never come back to eating meat). Being a vegan also carries a deep moral and ethical attachment, you need to prove yourself by being well informed, well read and well fed. and if youre not a vegetarian yet, i highly advised to tackle a gradual progression, which means you need to be better at it every day like knowing what to eat, what not to eat, whats good, complex carbs, simple carbs, complete proteins, incomplete proteins, dha, epa. theres a lot of work to do in your part to be a vegan, its not just a diet, its a lifestyle, its a way of life.

TIPS: I started as a vegetarian (no meat no eggs no milk but i wasnt well informed enough to know everything i was 14, i didnt know what gelatin was after a month of gradual progression i knew almost everything there was to know about being a vegan) most important tip gradually take out foods out of your diet (diet means youre eating habits, what you put in your mouth) so that you wont relapse because youre going to crave your old favourite foods since your body havent adjusted to the vegan regime, once youre finally comfortable of being a vegetarian (3 months of no meat should be your gauge, unless you are pesto-veg) you will start to crave for vegetarian foods which is great. then its time to up the ante, go vegan after that but during your vegetarian phase you should read up on what NOT to eat (gelatin, glycerine, milk, eggs, made from a factory that manufactures milk/eggs,meat products) learn how to read nutrition labels, learn what products are vegan approved and was not tested on animals, remember wearing leather is just as foul as eating meat (ripping an animals skin is not better than cutting it nor eating it)

RECAP: 1. Take a gradual progression approach (3 months vegetarian/taking meat out of your diet)
2. Be well informed (start with goveg.org)
3. Be morally and ethically aware on whats going on (peta.org)
4. Being a vegan is not just the way you eat, its a lifestyle, its a way of life
5. Keep learning new things about veganism everyday, the beauty about life is you cannot out evolve your lifespan, there are enough levels to move up. Dont stop and say "i have arrived now", take that mentally off and be humble because you will learn new things about the lifestyle everyday or atleast execute it well enough
6. Personal resolve, youre incharge and youre having an impact wether its one of your priorities or not, youre saving the planet, you reduce greenhouse gasses, youre ethical and moral standards should be at par with your ideoligies as a vegan
7 HAVE FUN, if youre not having fun and youre not happy about it, that means youre not doing it right and its not for you

Is there a scientific explanation for mixed blood people?

Iky

I noticed that most of the mixed blood people are beautiful and possessed physical beauty, why? What is the advantage for crossbreed genetic, i meant the mixed blood people? do they have a strong immune system and possessed good quality of both parent?

Answer
Mixed parentage/blood/ethnicity, whatever you call it, does not guarantee superiority in looks, health, etc. Genetics is not as simple as that, however, different ethnicity and people from different geographical areas do contribute to minor genetic variations. This sometimes also have to do with history of pedigree, especially important and associated with big words such as genetic drift, founder effect, bottleneck etc. Certain people from a particular region is susceptible to genetic disorder including thalassemia (Mediterranean), Ellis-van Creveld syndrome (old order Amish), Tay-Sachs disease (Ashkenazi Jews) and Huntington's disease (western Europeans). So, not necessary by marrying somebody of different races/ethnic group guarantees better body blueprint. It boils down to genetic interplay.

Good and beneficial traits from 2 ethnicities may be inherited in the progeny but not necessary so. It depends on various genetic interaction such as epistatis, genomic imprinting and other complicated stuffs. For the looks, not all mixed parentage results in a more-than-normal pretty faces. Perhaps the parents are already remarkably good-looking. Sometimes it is just that the special features of the looks of mixed parentage (since it is a merge of 2 different sets of features from 2 ethnicity resulting in a unique blend) that captivates you. For example, a hybrid of 2 different orchids will give you a new variant which has both phenotypes/physical appearance derived from the parents. The blend in appearance is exotic and special. To some, they call this beautiful. Others may even say it is ugly. But actually, it is just unique in its own way. Unique can mean pretty or otherwise. All these could be genetics, or it could be plain psychological.

As for immunity, it is not necessary have something to do with ethnicity. Even people from the same ethnicity can produce a much more immune-fit offspring. What I mean is, yes, there might be a probability that a mixed ethnic person could inherit the better immunity from the parents but the thing is, do you know which race/ethnic group has better immunity than the others so that you can have a better offspring with the people from that ethnic group? I think not. Not one ethnic group is better off than the other, in general. Unless, the particular person came from a small province which is known to have a longer average lifespan (in China) or the people there are immune to certain disease because they were infected earlier and developed herd immunity (such as cases of pandemic flu). But as a whole, there is no such thing as mixed blood = superiority/better quality. It depends on the interaction between genetics and environment/diet/lifestyle. For the beauty, the face structure is determined by the genes from both father and mother. So the look is the hybrid of both gene sets, just like non-mixed blood. Nothing special. Genetics doesn't care about ethnicity. It just work out the way the genetic code tells it to.

Answer
Go to YELP or Craigslist and read reviews or post on their message boards there from your city.

We live in OREGON.

FYI:
Style meets chemistry meets biology: We're talking hair coloring.

Playing with chemicals is not like playing with clothes, or doing a manicure, there are penalties for playing chemicals in the lab. Even hair color experts at the salon are not rocket scientists, they do a bang up dye jobs to their clients or their own hair.

Chemicals can enter the body through the skin.

> > > Hair dye chemicals linked to cancer
London, Feb 20, 2013 I've been saying that since 2009.
Hair dyes, which include home hair colouring kits and those used at pricey salons, are linked to deadly cancer-causing chemicals, warn scientists. In 2009 the Mail revealed that women who used hair dyes more than nine times a year had a 60% greater risk of contracting blood cancer.
A year later the European Commission banned 22 hair dyes which put long-term users at risk of bladder cancer. < < < <â¨

The allergic reaction was caused by a well-known brand of semi-permanent hair dye Chloe used to turn her hair black for a Halloweâen party. . . . . called for beauty bosses to ban hair dye chemical PPD (para-phenylenediamine) from the shelves. 11-04-11

The chemical is not new and is present in a number of brands of dark hair colours, acting to help adhere the dye to the hair so that it doesn't wash out. Itâs made from coal tar and is used in both permanent and semi-permanent hair colours. Itâs well-known to be a cause of serious allergic reactions -- including something called contact dermatitis which can lead to rashes, blisters, and open sores.
PPD is sometimes added to black henna tattoos and that using them is not safe. Allergic reactions usually begin within two to 10 days following application. One bad reaction can lead to sensitivities to other products such as hair dye, sunblock and some types of clothing dyes. Oftentimes, it's using the product a second or third time.

Google: A 38-year old mother left in a coma after using hair dye. SHE DYED HER HAIR MANY TIMES BEFORE, USING THE SAME BRAND. The British woman who went into coma after a reaction to hair dye has died after a year. Updated 11-25-12. The woman suffered a heart failure, struggled for breath and became unconsciousness. Her family blamed paraphenylenediamine, a chemical found in hair colour. Her family has now called for paraphenylenediamine to be banned from home dye kits. In 2000, a 38-year-old Indian-origin woman from Birmingham, Narinder Devi, died after an allergic reaction to hair dye.

Permanent black hair dye is linked to causing leukemia and lymphomas.

Any comments on Loreal Color Zap? Used for removing dye from hair.?

Mattie

I need reviews for Loreal Color Zap, I'm looking to use it myself but want information on it first. Did it work? Was it damaging? Waste of time? Dyed my hair black & I want it back to my natural blonde. Please help!

Answer
Here's an example what hair stripping will do to your hair.

It is worst than hair dyes, one from YA! "I accidentally dyed my hair this awful black, stripped it, and now it is this crunchy crispy mess!"

Hair strippers are chemical treatments which are intended to strip out artificial color pigment with less risk or damage to the hair. The chemicals used are called reducing agents.
Certain 'metal' strippers containing sodium sulphoites are sold for reducing hair dyed with metallic dyes, as these dyes react violently with tint stripper containing hydrogen peroxide-the subsequent reaction may cause so much heat that the hair gets dissolved.
Example: So i just put Colour B4 on my hair to try and remove my black dye so my hair it's natural colour which is dark blonde. so i've just dried my hair and there's still dark patches on it. and in some places it's gone ginger. i have garnier pre lightener. should i use it? there's no way my hair could look worse than it is now lol.
Another example:
Can you imagine this being done on YOU? Ex. of one:
"Sooo i do hair, i should know these things! I made a major OOPS in my hair color today. I picked a color close to my natural (as i had it lighter than natural before), I had dye it that color and it turned a magenta color; terrible!! So i washed and washed and washed with head and shoulders, worked but took about two weeks. Being that was still such a terrible color i picked up another shade similar to my natural (odd color, a mix between red, blonde and light brown). I dyed it this morning and well it was BRIGHT red, so i ran to the store and grabbed a light brown (i have done this before, a few years back and worked like a charm to neutralize the red and brown together). So i dyed my hair TWICE today and its a DARK DARK DARK reddish dark brown. It looks very unnatural and i hate it. I need to get rid of this asap, any fast suggestions?"

Another example from YA! "I've tried color oops and it hurt my hair and I just got it healthy. I used loreal color remover which is practically bleach and it's pinkish. I refuse to dye my hair any longer.... suggestions? ThNks."

Before bottled shampoo & hair products were invented, mid 60's, in Asia, all we've ever used was a bar of soap for body, hair & laundry, for 13 years and we have healthy silky, shiny, soft, smooth hair. Just make sure you rinse well. Try that if that works better!

Google Salon Hair Dye Lawsuits. AboutAbout 91,800 results (0.23 seconds) 2-3-13.
When it comes to hair care treatments, product use or visits to a salon or spa, the consumer must take responsibility to do their homework and be aware of all the risks involved.
Vanessa Minnillo Lachey: "I dated a guy once who wanted me to have blonde hair. Clearly, he was the wrong guy for me! I went to a lady who bleached my hair and it literally fell out. So, not only did I go back to my natural hair, I broke up with the guy!"

Bad Hair Habit: Stripping Out Hair Dye
Smart hair care includes what not to do. If you have a change of heart after you dye your hair a dark shade, stripping out the color will open the cuticle

Peace

I would like to make a youtube channel making videos about beauty things. Such as hair and makeup tutorials, skin care ideas, whats in fashion, reviews, and vlogs.
I just don't know what to start with, how to get people to view my videos and subscribe, how to edit videos, and really what the whole thing will be like.
PLEASE, If you guys can help me i would greatly appreciate it.!

Thanks in advance(:

Answer
Just make sure you are really passionate about what you talk about. If you need editing software, you can always try or even purchase software such as Sony Vegas (which a lot of popular YouTubers use), or Adobe Premiere (which quite a few movies were edited in). Keep in mind that those programs take some time to adjust to. Chances are you'll need to look at a few tutorials on how to edit. Protip: if you don't have a good camera people tend to stop watching videos. If we can't see what you're doing then it isn't worth watching.

I personally prefer when people stick to a script. Not word for word, just so it doesn't get too off topic. Ya know?

Lastly, to get views and stuff is pretty much luck. You can always respond to popular videos with your videos to get a few hundred views. Fake tags will at least bring people to your videos, I don't like the method because it's a bit cheap but you can. Just keep in mind that if you become good at what you do, people will notice. Best of luck!

Would moving to Canada be very different from the USA?

Im worried about transition. Like money, lifestyle all that. Is it very different from the USA or just small adjustments?

Answer
"Is it very different from the USA or just small adjustments?"

hmmm...
Small adjustments on one hand and like night and day adjustements on the other.

On the surface seems pretty similar.
Dollars and cents with a pretty much on par exchange rate, both speak English with sort of kind of the same moral views.
But look deeper past the superficial and it's a whole different culture.

Lifestyle:

Same sex marriage is now legal in the USA.
In Canada it's been that way for awhile... nobody cares who you do and it's quite the inane thing to measure a human being by.
Skin tone and religion also, nobody notices or cares what colour you are or which God or Prophet you worship. You're allowed to be who you want to be - no moral judgements.

The same assault rifle used in the Colorado theatre shootings is available in Canada. True we do have gun control but the thing Americans don't get is it's as much to do with a culture's self-control as it is about weaponry.
I couldn't even imagine leaving armed schools as a legacy for my children and if teachers needed weapons to protect my own kids from my own neighbors.. well suffice to say that wouldn't fly here. There would be no larger red flag that could be waved.

Queen Elizabeth II is the Queen of Canada, a Canadian citizen... our Head of State. Many think that means there is some attachment to Britain. No disrespect to the USA but they don't have a clue about their neighbor, never really have. Example, The War of 1812 when the USA thought if they invaded we'd all rebel against British rule so we could become a US State.
That's kind of humourous up here. Unlike The 13 Colonies:

"several other self-governing colonies of the British Empire were considered dominions equal in status to Canada. Only one other country actually used the title 'Dominion ofâ¦' in its full name however; the Dominion of New Zealand. The British used 'dominion' in a generic context to refer to any colony that was more or less self-governing. After the passage of the Statute of Westminster in 1931 the definition of dominion became lot more precise, with the British drawing a clear line of separation between what was a "dominion" and what was a "colony." From henceforth, a "dominion" was declared to be an independent country..."

Some world opinion:

"First place on the Personal Freedom Sub-Index went to Canada. Then came Norway, New Zealand, Australia, Sweden, Denmark, Ireland, and Iceland. The United States followed in ninth place. Belgium, Uruguay and Finland took tenth, eleventh and twelfth, respectively"
http://www.livescience.com/14018-america-ranks-9-world-freedom.html

Canada ranks No. 1 in our annual look at the Best Countries for Business. While the U.S. is paralyzed by fears of a double-dip recession and Europe struggles with sovereign debt issues, Canadaâs economy has held up better than most. The $1.6 trillion economy is the ninth biggest in the world and grew 3.1% last year. It is expected to expand 2.4% in 2011, according to the Royal Bank of Canada.

Statistics compiled by the Canadian Centre for Justice Statistics (CCJS) and released Tuesday by Statistics Canada showed that the crime rate in 2011 was at its lowest level in 39 years. EDIT TO ADD...

"There is also much disdain for Americans here in Canada, to the point where I do not tell many where I come from. "

Indeed.
That why I'm answering an American respectfully, as a friend and neighbor hoping they'll visit.
It's out of distain.

How long does it take to become a hair stylist?

Holly

Anyone know how long it takes to become a hair stylist? What are the classes like? Do you need to be someone who is naturally good at doing hair or can they teach you everything you need to know? thanks

Answer
each state has it's own requirement for hours of training to become a graduate cosmetologist. a cosmetologist is proficient in hair, nails, make up, skin care, etc. after cosmetology school, (took me about a year). if you want to specialize in any of the above areas, or become an instructor in any area of cosmetology, that will require another specific number of hours of training to complete.

a good instructor can teach you all you need to know to become an excellent hair stylist, colorist, and manicurist. a natural ability can help too. that, plus really enjoying/liking to do that sort of thing.

each state requires a license to practice cosmetology. to recieve a license, you must pass a state board test in all areas of cosmetology.

i went to cosmetology school in colorado and that state has one of the highest number of hours required (or did have when i went), ((i have since moved to a state requiring less hours, so the license was recripocal from colorado to the state i moved to)) for a general cosmetology license.

hope this helps.

check with a cosmetology school in your area to learn the hour requirements and a general idea of how long it takes to complete.

For example I used to work for a Pharmacy that offered prescriptions, gifts, cards, post office, and bill payment center.
So what services could I add to this boutique to get more clientele?

Answer
Beauty and wellness products.

Many of your would-be customers are mindful of their looks. Give it to them. Health products that work inside-out plus proven beauty products are an excellent compliments to your boutique. You can get such wellness products from MLMs that admits members at certain registration fee in exchange to start-up product packages.

Answer
Since any names that are suggested here may already be owned by another party, I wanted to go a different route...

I suggest either hiring a name creation firm or get together with your friends and/or family and throw a "name party" & have everyone bounce some ideas around. Compile a listing of names that you like the best. Once you have that list, do as much free research as you can before you delve into comprehensive research.

I listed some links where you can do some preliminary name checking. However, please be aware that this is merely scratching the surface of what's out there.

Only comprehensive research will tell you if the name is truly available. But, these links are free & a great place to start, so I'd try them out first.

Comprehensive research consists of looking at marks that are similar in Sound, Appearance or Meaning in the pending & registered Federal AND State trademark files as well as the US National Common-Law files.

There are other sites that offer free searching capabilities in conjunction with their commercial services, so I'm not able to post those links due to the Yahoo! TOS. You'll also want to check domain names & yellow pages, so simply do a search for "free domain name search" and "national yellowpages" and the appropriate links will pop up.

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

Why was my health insurance terminated when I am 20 and fulltime college student?

This Is No

I am a dependant on my mother's health insurance from her employer. Recently I was sent a mail requesting a proof of enrollment to show that I am indeed a full-time student. I put in a proof of enrollment that I am taking the 12 units in college, plus I also sent a copy of my schedule for this semester.

Today I get a letter saying that my insurance has been terminated and I am no longer eligible because of my age.

I thought full time students who are 21 and under can still be placed as a dependant? Is there a chance they just didnt receive my mail? If thats so, then why didnt they state that they didnt receive the required proof of enrollment instead of terminating me for my age?

I want to call them but they are closed for the weekend, so any advice from you guys so I know what I am saying when im on the phone with them would be helpful.
Btw it is not grades, I have a 3.5 gpa.
All those telling me to call them up is useless since I already plan to, what I need is any advice on what to say when I do call them on monday, since they are closed for the weekend.

Answer
It doesn't matter what your grades are - just that you are enrolled for full time status.

I can see 2 scenarios happening here -

1) They just didn't get the info. When you sent it in, did you include something referencing you as a dependent on your mom's policy? If the document only had your name on it, they may not have been able to identify what policy it went with and thus weren't able to process it correctly. (Note to everyone - include the policy ID number and the name of the insured individual on ANY documents you send to your insurance company. It will be extremely helpful in making sure your document is processed correctly.)

2) Is the school you're attending accredited? Sometimes there's a clause that you have to be attending an accredited university, so if a person were attending a technical school, beauty school, etc. full time it wouldn't count.

I suspect in your case that #1 occurred, and you should be able to get this resolved on Monday.

Also, you can make the call yourself - anyone on a medical policy can make calls and discuss their own information, it doesn't only have to be the cardholder. (Sure, if you had never been on the policy at all, your mom would have to make the call. But you can call to discuss your own personal information, which includes full time student documentation.)

Could you mix active principles in a cream?

Hayde

Daily morning skin care (or night, but let make it simple usually requires more than one principle to be effective, like emollients SPF, antioxidants, peptides... but there is no way that you can find a single cream mixing all those (not the cleaners, of course), let aside being clear about the amount or the clinically proven results. I wonder if they usually interact in a way that make them virtually impossible to mix or it is just a marketing strategy.

Yes

What is the best primer for an oily skin type with wrinkles?

vagabond.

Hello! I am looking for a new primer. My nose is very oily, but I have under-eye wrinkles and laugh lines. I was wondering what primer would be best for my skin type. I really don't want my makeup to settle into my wrinkles anymore, but I need to keep my oiliness under control, and I need my makeup to last. Any suggestions? I don't care if it's drugstore, department store, or Sephora-type makeup, I just need suggestions! Thank you!

Why is Barack Obama's lead shrinking?

Eric S

I thought America agreed that we would have the first African American president since the founding of the United States. That this would be a symbol of the progress of the USA in fighting racism and prejudice against black people.

And now McCain made a statement that the people hurting in the economy is more important than racism. And that the people on November 4th will just "forget about racism." That's basically what he said. That's despicable in my opinion!

Why doesn't everybody understands the emotional hurt that comes from subconscious racism discrimination that people face every day because they're non-white?
I'll give you a good example of subconscious racism.

You are in an office working on a spreadsheet and you have to stay after 5pm to get it done. A minority worker paid minimum wage takes out the office garbage and you subconsciously assume your status as an individual towers over this janitor, and you never stop to think......maybe this guy COULD be doing the work I'm doing, but he/she is sweeping floors temporarily while completing a college degree on top of it! We tend to not realize we discriminate.

Answer
Yes you are right in the respect that it hurts when you are treated as less just because your race is considered inferior... my family because of being sicilian were discriminated against even driven out of their home...in the good old south ... jackson mississippii, new orleans, louisiana... HOWEVER ...whoever thinks that having a black skinned president (remember he is half white and half black) bought and paid for by likeminded un-American thinkers... influenced from his fatherless childhood by a communist, Frank Marshall Davis and then later on in his life through our ??FINE??? (anti american) usa colleges with anti western culture teachers and literature such as Rules For Radicals by Lipinski... a book Hillary Clinton did a paper on while she attended a ???FINE??? (anti American) usa college!!!, shows the US has made progress they are really blind to the real very dangerous issues this country faces with the acceptance of the policies of the current democratic party... obama and biden are communist, socialist, marxist in their philosophy and that spells hell to a large degree for the once respected and feared USA. I went to nursing school in nyc (new york city) where i was one of 5 white girls, the rest were black and we had a few puerto ricans ... all our instructors were black... trained at bellview (some of them),,, i like many black folks, they are down home, mannerly clean and have other good characteristics...some i know are highly educated and wealthy, doctors, lawyers and such... of course i have met some white folks who are not the kind of people i want to associate with so i am not against black skinned people or other ethnic groups... people are individuals and need to be evaluated on that basis not on their sex race age or other insignificant things... To show we have made progress in this country we would have to elect a whole bunch of different officials... our entire political system would have to be revamped... congress would not be allowed to have access to insider trading in the stock market... how do you think many of these corrupt people got much of their wealth? our country is in a big mess and no politician will be able to turn this country back ... the horrible facts are that this country this world is not going to return to the images of the old movies of Lassie and Father knows Best... we all need to hit our knees because the hand writing is on the wall... mccain may extend the mercy of God in our country but i personally think that since 911 only briefly touched people we need something that is as bad as it is going to get... should obama become the president...with the methods he will inflict upon ALL RACES that live in the usa. If anyone is racist i would say he is in line also... pathetically he is against the black skinned folks... how is he going to provide jobs for anyone if he is going to further tax industries that could provide them... they will outsource and lay off their current workers... causing people to not have jobs and have to join the ranks of welfare receipients ...he is no friend, with his policies, to the black skinned race... welfare is no life... they do not receive much and can not purchase just anything they may want... did you ever have food stamps??? you cant buy soda and some other things... ever apply for welfare... it makes you feel like a dirt bag a number regardless if you have kids to care for or not... have you ever had to live in a shelter??? I personally helped a young black skinned mother of 3 little ones who was dumped in a small city in winter... the county shelter provided a place to sleep from 4pm but by 8am the next day everyone had to be out of the building... where the H E W Q was she suppose to go... besides out into the cold ??? she walked to a church soup kitchen where they gave her and her children breakfast and lunch... SO if you think for one rotten second that a socialist government or a marxist government will do better you are living in a paperbag and can not see the cold hard nasty facts of that kind of society...well that is an exaggertion... they might do you a big favor and exterminate you what do you think soviet russia lived through what do you think many other foreign countries live like??? Why is it that teenage girls today wear shirts that should be women 10 years older?

Bonkers!

My mom and grandmother was telling me the other day that when they were teenagers, they were wearing t-shirts that weren't skin tight, or cleavage showing. Why is it that it's like, mandatory that girls in my school wear sexy shirts? I know it has a lot to do with the media, but isn't it ridiculous that back then teenagers wore what 8 year old kids wear today? Opinions?

Answer
pop culture changes constantly, what the media portrays as beautiful constantly changes. humans have always wanted to be accepted and loved. Women and men will both go to extremes to be noticed and loved. Unfortunately the attention they get is usually negative when they promote their sexuality instead of their other qualities. Its unfortunate that people feel sex is the only thing they can promote, but really its because we as a people don't care about the other qualities.

The day we as a society are able to look passed these things then and only then will they no longer be important

What is the life expectancy of a cat in human years?

npsems

I have a long hair tabby, 8 years old.
mostly indoor cat.

Answer
Indoor domesticated cats can live up to 15-20 years depending on a number of factors:

The following are just some considerations when caring for your cat so your puurfect friend can get the most out of life!

The cats diet is a consideration. Feeding the cat human food can cause or help lead the cat to health problems later in life so a proper dietary supplement such as Iams adult hard food is a consideration. Also milk is hard on a cat's stomach so you want to ensure proper hydration such as water is available only

As your cat is eight years old you may want to take your tabby to the veterinarian twice a year or as problems appear going down the road.

Never feed the cat chocolate as this is considered posion to cats

Provide your cat with treats every so often as most of the goodies contain essential amino acids and vitamins your cat needs on a day to day basis

A glossy coat is always a good sign your cat is healthy. Dry and red looking skin can mean many things but often more than not it is an indication your cat is not getting the essential nutirents from food due to health related issues

I hope your cat has a prosperous new year and is healthy, safe, and lives many years to come. All the best to you and your fuzzy friend in the new year!

How to grow african american hair long?

Glam Natio

What oils do I use?
I take multivitamins ( One A Day Teen Advantage For Her )
I drink lots of water
Moisturize my hair everyday
Don't use heat
Shampoo , Deep condition , flat iron every 2 weeks
What else grows it long

p.s I use design essential products , peppermint oil

Answer
Shampoo & condition the hair as usual, every 4-7 days, but continue to trim off the damaged hair, allowing new growth to take over. Use GENTLE shampoo. Applying a small drop amount of oil to wet hair can also act as a leave-in conditioner and provides excellent conditioning in preparation for the next shampooing.

Your hair is the most fragile of all hair types. They snap & break easily. So you need more TLCs than thin hair. No chemicals. No relaxers specially! No heating styling tools. Finger comb is best or use a wide tooth comb. Do what Oprah & Michelle Obama have been, going natural, using plastic curlers to set their hair. Use oil or conditioner to keep them moisturized. Heat & chemicals are your hair's worst enemies.

The hair of many black women is very fragile and studies have demonstrated that normal brushing and combing the hair can result in breakage. Brushing your hair 100-times a day is a no-no for your hair. Only comb and brush your hair to style it. Also avoid rubber bands or other implements that can physically cut into and break the hair shaft.

Google: Hair Styling and Hair Care NOT THE SAME. 4-8-13.

She talks exactly like I preach! She's got good natural hair savvy! Oprah have been natural for 20 years. I've been for 30 years!
Example from YA member! "I saw your answer you gave to someone and it made a lot of sense. I just went natural Sept 2012 and I need advice and/or help. Having too much info can never be too much. My mother told me the same thing, African American products have harsh chemicals in themâ¦etc"

If you want your hair styled right, go to a professional. My advice is URSULA STEPHEN, who've been styling hair for the celebrities for 15 years.
Google: Rhonda Lee. Copied & pasted from her getting fired @ the KTBS station.
"I am very proud of my African-American ancestry which includes my hair. For your edification: traditionally our hair doesn't grow downward. It grows upward."
"Many Black women use strong straightening agents in order to achieve a more European grade of hair and that is their choice. However in my case I don't find it necessary."
"I'm very proud of who I am and the standard of beauty I display. As women we come in all shapes, sizes, nationalities, and levels of beauty."
"Showing little girls that being comfortable in the skin and HAIR God gave me is my contribution to society," the TV personality concluded.
Watch: Good Hair - Documentary by Chris Rock 2009. or Tyra Banks What is Good Hair. Black women spend 80% of all hair products. She's got good advice!
Michael âRahniâ Flowers, who served as Obamaâs hairstylist in Chicago for more than 20 years, knows full well the importance great hair plays in a womanâs lifeâand so does Michelle, he says. âSheâs always taken very good care of her hair,â Flowers explains. âHaving beautiful hair is such a sign of health and attractiveness, particularly for black women, because their hair tends to be very fragile, and it needs extra care. Having it look good at all times is an amazing feat in itself. âSheâs never been the kind of woman that obsessed over hair and makeup too much.â
"For many black women, the idea of wearing their hair naturally is unbearableâ, said: Award winning and author of âHalf of a Yellow Sunâ, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, newest novel âAmericanahâ that includes the detail descriptions of black women having their hair done and also to give a brief description of her own hair.

How serious is MRSA and can you get it from human skin to skin contact?
My daughter just found out she has MRSA . She just recently had a baby 3 months ago. Can her baby or her sister's get this from just being around her?

Answer
MRSA is highly contagious because it is a staff infection. . Here is the info about preventing the spread.
Yes. It is possible to have a staph or MRSA skin infection come back (recur) after it is cured. To prevent this from happening, follow your healthcare providerâs directions while you have the infection, and follow the prevention steps after the infection is gone.

If I have a staph, or MRSA skin infection, what can I do to prevent others from getting infected?
You can prevent spreading staph or MRSA skin infections to others by following these steps:

Cover your wound. Keep wounds that are draining or have pus covered with clean, dry bandages. Follow your healthcare providerâs instructions on proper care of the wound. Pus from infected wounds can contain staph and MRSA, so keeping the infection covered will help prevent the spread to others. Bandages or tape can be discarded with the regular trash.
Clean your hands. You, your family, and others in close contact should wash their hands frequently with soap and warm water or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer, especially after changing the bandage or touching the infected wound.
Do not share personal items. Avoid sharing personal items such as towels, washcloths, razors, clothing, or uniforms that may have had contact with the infected wound or bandage. Wash sheets, towels, and clothes that become soiled with water and laundry detergent. Drying clothes in a hot dryer, rather than air-drying, also helps kill bacteria in clothes.
Talk to your doctor. Tell any healthcare providers who treat you that you have or had a staph or MRSA skin infection.
What should I do if someone I know has a staph or MRSA infection?
If you know someone that has a staph or MRSA infection you should follow the prevention steps.

What is the best tick removal medication for dogs?

Labels:

Julie

Hello. I've just discovered two ticks on my dog. One of them is dead, but the other is alive. The second one looked fresh, and wasn't even attached to my dog's skin. I also found some brown dirt like stuff that I think are tick eggs. My dog is around 90 pounds, and about 2ft tall at least. I'd like to know what the best tick removal medication is. Something that...

- Kills ticks
- Prevents ticks
- Kills tick eggs

I have some Advantage but I've read that it doesn't kill ticks. Thanks from both my dog and I, in advance.

Answer
FrontlinePlus helps manage ticks.

The best way to clear away ticks:
Use a flea prevention every month
Spray your yard if you suspect a problem, no tick prevention kills eggs because ticks lay their eggs in the grass
Pull any ticks you find on your dog off and place in a container of alcohol. No tick prevention is 100% effective, sorry, that's just the way it is.

The brown dirt like stuff is probably 'flea dirt' which is flea poop. Again, prevention every month! And FrontlinePlus takes care of fleas as well as ticks. Spraying the yard will help, but flea eggs (also laid on the ground, not on the dog) are hard to kill, so you'll probably have to spray 3 weeks in a row.

If you say you never see fleas? Well, if you see flea dirt, there are fleas. Some dogs are just very good at grooming them off themselves so you don't see them, and fleas either stay on the dog or get swallowed by the dog, so you're not likely to see them jumping around your house. They only jump off the dog to lay eggs in the grass/carpet.

If you think there are fleas in your house, then vacuum every 7 days for a month. That way you're removing eggs before they can hatch. Same thing with any soft furniture (couch, recliners) vacuum those as well, and wash any pillows, dog beds, or blankets every week in hot water.

And lastly, where there are fleas, there are tapeworms. Remember I said some dogs groom them off? That usually means they get swallowed. Fleas carry tapeworms, and the tapeworms get transferred to dogs when the dog swallows the flea. If you see evidence of what looks like white rice or cucumber seeds in your dog's daily poop, then yeah, there are tapeworms. These you'll have to see a vet to clear up. If you do find them in the poop, plop them in a container of water or alcohol and take to the vet with you so they know what kind of worm they are dealing with, and can therefore give you the right drugs to kill them.

How often can you bathe a two month old kitten safely?

Hanna

I recently got a new kitten that had previously lived outside. It had fleas and from what I can tell only tape worms. I have the worm problem under control now but the fleas keep seeming be the problem. I first gave her a bath with dawn dish soap, and it took care of most of the fleas. I comb her every day with a flea comb to catch the rest. I wanted to know how long is the shortest wait time till I can safely bathe her again since the dawn soap worked the best?

Answer
Whoa! You're doing the right thing asking for help.
Dawn dishwashing soap will dry the baby's skin and fur horribly, and won't get rid of the fleas. A few of them may jump off of her when she gets wet but most fleas stay on animals with wet fur. Even over the counter shampoo that says it gets rid of fleas doesn't really do much.

Combing her with a flea comb is good but they'll be back in massive amounts by the next day.
The best way for your baby to be completely rid of fleas is to be treated with a medication that gets applied to her skin between her shoulder blades. Examples are Advantage and Revolution. Advantage can be bought over the counter but if you go that route it's kind of pricey. Revolution has to come from a veterinarian's office. Revolution will kill critters other than fleas such as ear mites, that Advantage doesn't. If somebody tries to charge you an outrageous fee for Advantage or Revolution shop around. Some veterinarians know how to make Revolution available to customers at very reduced rates. So the Advantage, Revolution, ect. between the shoulder blades is step #1 :)

Next she needs to take medication to get rid of the tapeworm (poor baby.) It will either be a pill or a liquid. She will take it in two doses a few weeks apart. The medication for tapeworms also has to come from a veterinarian but CAN be gotten for a very reasonable price. If some doctor tries to charge you an arm and a leg for the tapeworm medicine, again, just keep calling around until you find a veterinarian who will give you a reasonable price.

The last step is to get rid of the fleas in the areas of your house where your kitty has been. Vacuum, wash anything that's washable, and if you want to make sure they're gone for good spray the area with a spray called "Knockout." You can buy Knockout from Amazon or from a veterinarian.

Good luck. Hope your baby feels better soon.

And are parabens really that bad?
I just want to feel safe in the knowledge that what I'm putting on my face will not do me any harm.

Answer
You want ingredients? Go to cosmeticsinfo dot org.

Avoid chemicals as much as you can. There's toxic everywhere we go, everything we eat including fresh fruits & vegetables which are supposed to be good for us? UNHEALTHY FOODS: 10 Dirty Fruits & Vegetables

You want more info, visit the FDA, they have all topics everything under the tree.

Number one is right outside your door. Mr. Sunshine, use your floppy hat or umbrella each time you step outside. Sunscreen sold @ the stores does not protect you from sunburned, cancer, or other skin diseases, or skin tags, moles, freckles. Take the Skin Picture Quiz - Identify These Common Skin Conditions on MedicineNet.

The hair & beauty industry sells a lot of toxic that are killing us, it is a billion dollar business. The hair industry for example they sell products that cleans & condition the hair. They also sell products that damage and causes hair loss. They also DO NOT give money back guarantee for damaged hair or hair loss due to 'abuse'. Mechanical, chemical, or thermal styling. Hair straighteners and relaxers top the hair products pose the greatest risks. Hair relaxers, related products marketed heavily to African-American women, are dangerous because they may contain powerful chemicals such as lye, a toxic substance also used in drain cleaners. The beauty industry sells products that prevents us from getting acne, but the fact is they're just being spread around increasing more acne to develop elsewhere.

Relaxers contain formaldehyde causing cancer. I've talked about it since 2009, and it was recently banned by the FDA in 9-12-11, now they're asking to have warning labels on them.

Don't worry about all that icky stuff. I buy the cheapest shampoo - Garnier for Normal Hair.

It's what you eat, and how you style your hair that will damage your hair or not grow normally.

The FDA believes that in low concentrations (up to 25%) parabens are safe for topical use. Most cosmetics have a concentration of 0.3% paraben or lower. In addition, studies on mice, guinea pigs and humans have shown that parabens do not remain in the body but exit rapidly in your urine (example: âSafety Assessment of Propyl Parabenâ Food and Chemical Toxicology 2001). This means that they are not building up in your system but are moving through and out of your body.

Parabens are known endocrine disrupters that are not only detrimental to human health, but also destructive to animal hormones and development. Studies have found higher levels of parabens in tumors from human breast tissue, but, because the potential damage to the endocrine system has yet to be proven, the controversy surrounding the toxicity of parabens is still being debated.

Even the air we breath is full of toxic. There's no stopping is there? Right after it rains, you just want to get in the shower & start all over again. The gel body wash & toothpaste is made of gel. Gel can harm your nerves.

Today, the FDA have recalled another product. BEEF STEW MIX.

If we believe everything about it, we won't have a life, would we? Anything man-made that's WHAT we need to look out for. But less is best, less product poisoning, as long as we do the right thing, we'll be OK.

What are good teen websites where i can find quizzes and beauty things?

Q.

Answer
gURL.com is a fun site with a bunh of activities, facts, and quizzes. The topics range from beauty, health, sex, relationships, etc. Anything a teenage girl would ask for.

I am ready to invest upto 20000. any can give me idea about it in detail

Answer
To begin, you'll need to obtain a cosmetology license and a business license. Licensing requirements vary by city, county and state, so you'll want to check with your local government office to see which applies to you. Some my include:

- Building permit (if you plan to do construction) or zoning permit (if you are developing land for business use)
- Health permit
- Occupational permit (often for home-based businesses)
- Signage permit

There are several costs that go into starting a salon, including equipment and supplies, styling chairs, signs, insurance, business license, a lease and advertising. Although it may be more expensive, a storefront that receives more foot traffic can often decrease your monthly advertising costs.

Putting together a business plan before you start can give you a really good idea of start-up and operation costs so you can allocate your funds accordingly. Here's a free sample business plan of a beauty salon that may be helpful to review:

Attracting clientele: You'll attract more customers by standing out from your competition. Offer something different - a variety of services, a unique atmosphere, more convenient hours, special events, etc.

Use the media to get free publicity for your business with
very little work. This can be done by writing a simple press release to your local paper announcing your salon opening - Tie it in with a special even if you can. Here are some publicity tips for beauty salons:

My hair is extremely damaged, how can I get it healthy fast?

Q. I have extremely curly hair which I constantly flat iron. Of course, the heat is absolutely killer on it. I've lost several inches off my hair do to split ends that simply break off. I'm hoping to get my hair chemically straightened so I will have to use the flat iron less, but my hair is so damaged right now no stylist would agree to it, and with good reason.

I'm going over seas in about a month and won't have nearly enough time to straighten my hair everyday, hence I'm really hoping to get this chemical treatment done.

Does anyone have any suggestions or products that would help me get my hair healthy again?

Answer
Healthy hair tips:

Use a moisturizing shampoo condtioner and leave in creme. I reccomened Sunsilk Hydra TLC it leaves my hair soft and managable.

Brush your hair before shampooing and conditioner so your hair won't be tangeled.

Don't wash your hair everyday try 3 times a week

Avoid combing hair while wet, use a wide tooth comb.

Deep condition twice a week

Trim your hair tips every 4-6 weeks.

While shampooing massage your scalp with your fingertips slowly, it's not necessary to shampoo the ends, then rinse with warm water.

When using a conditioner leave on for about 1-3 minutes so you can get great results then comb hair with wide tooth comb then rinse with very cold water to have shiny hair

If you use gel/hairspray/moose stop using them. They damage and dry up your hair.

If you use heat appliaces (blowdryers, curling irons, hair straightener) use a heat protecter spray so it'll protect your hair from heat.

If your in the sun alot buy a cap or a hoodie to protect your hair from the sun, heat damages and drys out your hair.

Buy a leave-in-conditioner/leave-in conditioner/creme to moisturize your hair all day long and don't rinse.

After your out of the shower set your blowdryer on cool setting and blowdryer your hair for 2 minutes, this will help seal the hair cuticles for a smooth shiny surface.

If you dye your hair do it atleast once a year, hair dye has terrible chemicals that kill your hair.
All of these products work great on dry hair:

For shampooing and conditioning I reccomend:
