How can I take VERY good care of my face/skin without fillers or botox?

Think or S

I am 27 and a little crease between my eyebrows has started to develop. Also the lines on my mouth.
I want to avoid botox at all costs. Is there anything I can do to help alleviate this crease, and prevent any future problems?

Answer
No one should even NEED botox, if they start caring for their skin, face, hair, etc. . . from the start.

Avoid the sun specially, plus too much soaking in the tub, pool, ocean, salt water, chlorine ALL make the skin look like 'dishpan hands'.

You're 27, so you have plenty of time to avoid ALL that before you turned 30. By the time you're in your 60's, you'll preserve your look and won't need anti-aging products OR botox.

Use a washcloth when taking a shower. I use Bath & Body (Suave, Dove, Irish Spring, etc.) wash for body & face. No baths! The less you're in the water, the less you'll get wrinkles.

For oily skin, the less you fuss with your skin, the better. Keep your face oil-free & dry from dirt & perspiration. Blot it with a tissue or blotter, and keep them dry. Using powder foundation, blush & eyeshadow is best. Less is best, less product poisoning. Google Elizabeth Taylor when she's 16, then Google her when she was 79.

Servings of 3-5 fresh fruits & vegetables daily. Google: FIVE FOODS TO EAT FOR BEAUTIFUL SKIN
All the vitamins & minerals you need for good skin care comes from all the healthy foods you eat from Mother Nature.

For your hands, wear gloves winter, spring, fall, and wear gloves for every chores you do, so you don't have to wash them often. In the garden, office, kitchen. Thank God for those! Too bad they don't have ones for feet.

Victoria Beckham doesn't like to smile, she says causes her to get wrinkles!

Is Las Vegas really as bad as it is made out to be?

I want to see Garth Brooks for my Sweet 16 gift. But he only plays in Vegas. I don't want to go on a plane or leave my dogs for a however long we would be there as it is so this makes all the difference to me: Is Las Vegas really as dangerous, filled with drunks + stuff, and sin-y as it is made out to be? :( Thanks
Are the tickets hard to get? They seem to be available on ticketmaster but I didn't actually try to buy them yet. :/
And thanks everyone!

Answer
Vegas is like many other cities: Use common sense and don't go to dangerous or questionable places and be mindful of your surroundings and hours of the night. Many people feel that this is Sin/Skin City and they can do whatever they want and get plastered like they wouldn't back home -- so they do. But, for the most part it's in fun. If they are mean when they are drunk at home, then they are mean if they are drunk in Vegas. If you want to take your doggies, you can board them at Doggie Day Care or at a local vet for very reasonable -- Vegas is filled with dog lovers. If you can get the tickets before hand for a Fri or Sat show, get them. The rest of the nights you have a chance to get them when you get here. But, Garth is Garth! Not the best live entertainer, but the best in country music.

What are some good skin care tips from the inside out?

FRANKIE G

Long story short: I looked in the mirror the other day and thought "Dad?". Yeah. I'm getting older.
I would love to hear some tips for skin care that's ingested. Food, drink and supplements, etc.
One thing I don't require is topical skin care tips. I have my lotion and sunblock that I apply daily. I'm good with that.

Answer
Take Cod Liver OIl Tablets & Vitamin E Tablets daily.
Eat lots of veggies and fruits for essential vitamins.
Drink a glass of warm water with lemon juice squeezed in it once a day to detox
No fizzy drinks/processed foods. Eat lots of fish & pulses like lentils.
Work out daily, even if its a walk or lifting some weights for a few mins.
Try making your own 'super juices' with veggies and fruit juices mixed up. Try aloe vera juice shots.
Use natural products on your face such as sweet almond oil, or coconut oil. If youve got spots of blemishes use tea tree oil.
Drink green tea daily - as many cups as poss. (6cups per day is recommended).

What is the best skin care product that you have found?

Rachael Co

A friend and I are looking into a bunch of different products to review them on a website. It's got make up tips and skin care tips. The problem is we don't know many of today's products. We tried to Google them but that didn't really tell us what ones were used by the everyday person most.

So if you could let us know what you use, how long you've been using it, how you've liked it, and where we can find more information on the product that would be super helpful.

Thanks a ton!

Answer
As odd as this might sound coming from a man, I've learned to love Sculptisse.

What I use: Sculptisse by Leeds Scientific

How long I've been using it: I got it for my wife last year as more of a gag gift. She ended up swearing by it and told me I should try it. I was skeptical at first but after a couple months of her nagging I gave in. It's almost been a year for me and it's been nearly life changing.

How you've liked it: I guess I answered that in the last one. I love it. :)

Where you can find more information: You can visit their site or their company site (both of which I'll post in the sources section) and get all the information you need about Sculptisse.

How to get a tan before Memorial Day?

Megan

I'm really pale and never tried to tan before. I usually wear sunscreen so I don't really know how easily I burn. I want to get a tan before Memorial Day. What SPF should I use and how long should I lay out for everyday to get a tan?

Answer
Pale people don't tan, they burn.

Tanning comes & go, unless you do them everyday 24/7. But in the end the only thing you'll benefit is either moles, freckles, skin tags or discolorations from sunscreens, lotions, etc. and the more you do, the more they get larger, darker & bumpier, even skin diseases like Bullous Pemphegoid or Discoid Lupus. Like exercising, your muscles will sag, when suddenly you stopped, same with getting a tan, they will fade.

Tanning, is a result for 'damaged skin' and no products can reverse you from skin cancer or damaged skin, may prevent you from pre-mature aging, but that's part of the billion dollar beauty industry. To get super than you will have to be tanning for @ least 60 years, George Hamilton & Tom Jones are two examples, who ARE super tan! Google them.

Melanoma is the leading cause of death from skin disease. An estimated 76,259 new cases of skin cancer will be reported particularly among women in their 20's & 30's, and that's 6,020 more than 2011, people died from the disease, according to the National Cancer Institute. Two million people are diagnosed with skin cancer in the US each year, according to the EPA's Sun-Wise Program. That's more than breast, colon, lung and prostate cancer cases combine! Now however, a recently published study suggests that those people with ginger hair and fair complexions face a much higher risk of developing dead skin cancer even if they are completely protected. Nov 2nd, 2012.

Oregon has the fourth highest rate of death from skin cancer in the United States, according to Dr. Brian Druker at the Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. KATU.com 2-12-13

To get the level of SPF you see on the label, you have to spread the lotion on like a layer of vanilla frosting; that's the thickness used in Food & Drug Administration tests. "So your SPF 30 is really a 10." says Steven Q Wang, M.D. director of dermatologic surgery and dermatology @ Memorial Sloan-Ketterng Cancer Center in Basking Ridge, NJ and author of Beating Melanoma. Or Google Catherine Zeta Jones - she's 42 with beautiful skin.

I've been protecting myself from the sun since age 9, but no matter, I got Discoid Lupus. Google that one. It was like someone punched my chin and it gave a purplish mark. It took 12 years for that to fade, so now I'm using a wide brim hat or umbrella for protection. Gene Simmons & Shannon both have been seen hold an umbrella during an event. They were invented before beauty products, for a reason.

What makes a porn ( star )? What makes her different from all the other women?

Sam

I'm thinking about heading into porn, but I don't want to tarnish my name if I am not going to have a certain level of success. I wondering what I could do to set myself apart from other women, or is it just having "star quality"? Something you're born with?
* in response to that question, being in playboy or a magazine would be some kind of dream come true for me, I would be very proud

Answer
Please don't listen to Eoghan g, auditions my rear. Firstly, before I start, I want to tell you I respect your wishes. Its very lovely that you haves hopes like this, no matter how degrading it is in some peoples' eyes. And also, please be careful. There are many scammers and perverts out there who may claim to get you into stardom and big bucks, but it could end up big trouble!

I'll start by being honest. You have to have at least some kind of sexual appeal to people. A seductive voice, large breasts, full lips, whatever feature that can make you can stand out in your benifet. Though, I'm sure, there are some porn stars out there that lack the slightest amount of appeal or beauty without makeup or extreme dieting and surgery.

You're going to need a massive amount of patience and willingness. I don't doubt that you're going to be asked to do something you don't want to do or something extremely queer in your position.

Some skill in acting would help. You're not going to go many places just by going "Oh baby. Yes. More. UHH!" Try to tune your voice and expression.

I would recommend you get insurance. Health, life, whatever. How many STD's and infectious diseases there are in the porn buisness is beyond me.

Experience may help just a bit.

Sexual tolerance. Again, I'm not QUITE sure, but in certain roles and parts of a porn flick I'm sure the director and fellow actor(tresses) won't appreciate a sudden orgasm before you even have your top off.

Like I said, I respect your wishes. But take in mind that like modeling, the career as a porn star can only last so long. It CAN tarnish your reputation and interfere with future careers and jobs. You can't stay in the porn buisness forever. You will age and you WILL lose something of significance. I think some of the answers here have stressed enough some of the consequences! So I won't go on.

You can either pursue your dream as a porn star in a professional manner or you can remain ametaur. I think the ametaur path will be a more suitable and less-tarnishing way, seeing it is not an actual job to post your own little videos on XTUBE or YOUPORN. But you may just get your own little fan club!

Good luck!

your opinions please: What houses would you say are the best and worst for each planet?

Labels:

health and beauty house on Cure For Diarrhea | Are you Tired of Running to the Toilet
health and beauty house image

I know there theoretically wouldn't BE best or worst houses depending on the aspects but just looking for random thoughts and reasonings.

Answer
mars - best 10th - worst... 7th. 10th is best because it is accidentally exalted, you know as 10th is vaguely associated with capricorn, so it's kind of got the strength and control of capricorn when in the 10th house. i pick 7th as worst, as this person can depend upon someone else in order to become assertive. and they are likely to fight with their partner.

venus - best 2nd, 7th, or 1st. worst ... 6th. 2nd and 7th are very natural houses for venus and hence serve the interests of venus as they probably should. first is also good, as venus in the first can give beauty and charm. i pick 6th as venus's accidental fall, and work and health - the 6th's hosues's concerns are not exactly the best area to apply the planet of love.

mercury - best 3rd, 9th - worst - 12th. 3rd and 9th are the mental houses, so mercury is well placed in either. 12th - this could add some confusion to the thought and communication progress.

moon - best - 4th - native placement, worst - could be either the 1st or 12th. the first because it's too personal to be "out there" like that. the 12th because that could indicate some psychological stress.

sun - best - 1st, 5th or 10th. in any of these houses, the sun can shine as it should. worst - 7th or 12th. in 7th, again, there could be some issues with expressing the self without the aid of someone else. and could become selfish in relationships. 12th, well that's a hard place for the sun to shine. leads to a very indistinct if not somewhat negative sense of self.

pluto - i'm sure about best here. due to pluto's dark nature, i'm not sure i can assign it a best house. in any house where it exerts its power, this could be potentially negative just as well as positive. i don't think there is a worst house for it either.

jupiter -best - 1st, 9th, 10th. natively placed in 9th, prominently placed in 1st or 10th, can be an indicator of fame. worst maybe 4th as it might make one desire a house that's too large and disorganized, but could keep them satisfied in the home with little desire to leave it? lol i dunno i'm kinda grasping at straws. jupiter, as the greater benefic is not really gonna be that bad anywhere.

saturn - best -10th - the only place saturn's grave seriousness can really thrive without cramping your style. worst - 1st, 4th, 7th. in angular houses, saturn is emphasized, but we don't really want saturn to be part of our exterior personality, or to give troubles in our home life or relationships, do we.

uranus - best - 3rd or 11th. it's comfortable in 11th and express itself hapiily there, making one an activist/reformer type. in the 3rd it's good for intelligence. worst - potentially the 1st or 10th, as it will give off an air of weirdness. lol. well that's not that bad but ya know... some people will complain about it.

neptune - neptune is very hard to understand and can give phony impressions and over sensitivity. i'd keep it away from the angular houses, to de-emphasize it, as it is extremely hard to get a handle on. probably the very worst would be the 4th. for the best i'm not sure really. anywhere that it could do some potential good, bestow its empathetic or psychic nature, it could also cause confusion and weakness. it's kind of a toss up, which could probably be decided by aspects, but not house alone.

Answer
You can get an S-curl relaxer is a product made by Luster, but for some reason people use the phrase S-curl referring to the style. It is a relaxer and relaxers contain chemicals that can damage your hair, especially when not used by a professional.

Hair straighteners are known as hair relaxers, keratin treatments and hair-smoothing products. They work by breaking and reforming the chemical bonds in keratin, which is the main protein that gives shape to each hair.

> > > > BRAZILIAN BLOWOUT HAD BEEN BANNED by the Food & Drug Adm. Sept. 12, 2011.

Google: keratin treatment warnings. About 2,620,000 results (0.36 seconds) 6-24-12.
1-23-12. and Google: Lawsuits Brazilian Blowouts. About 1,010,000 results (0.24 seconds)
In Sept. the federal government put out a hazard alert about the hair-smoothing treatment, Brazilian Blowout etc. warning that it contains liquid formaldehyde that can turn into formaldehyde gas when heated during a treatment. Now, the company's bottles of solution carry a warning label to alert stylists to the potential formaldehyde risk and the need to perform the treatment in a well-ventilated area. The manufacturer said Monday (3-6-12) that it had agreed to settle a class-action lawsuit for about $4.5 million.

Hair-straightening products are allowed to contain small concentrations of formaldehyde (0.2 percent). But several hair-straightening solutions have been found to contain well above the allowable limit. For example, one popular hair-straightening product that advertised itself as âformaldehyde-freeâ actually contained 6.8 percent to 11.8 percent formaldehyde.

BTW: A variety of hair-straightening products used in professional salons can expose both hairdressers and their customers to formaldehyde. The results show that three professional hair-smoothing treatments labeled "formaldehyde free" can produce the cancer-causing chemical at concentrations above the occupational exposure limits set by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. They tested four products: Coppola Keratin Complex Blonde Formula, Global Keratin Juvexin Optimized Functional Keratin, La Brasiliana Escluso Keratin Treatment with Collagen, and Brazilian Blowout Acai Professional Smoothing Solution. While ChemRisk tested four popular brands of hair straighteners, THERE ARE HUNDREDS on the market. Nov. 11-11

By contrast, beauty salon owners and stylists generally lack a scientific background and don't have a keen awareness of the danger of working with products that contain formaldehyde, experts say.

Watch: Good Hair a documentary by Chris Rock 2009 on BET or HBO. According to Tyra Banks, 80% of the black population are part of the billion dollar hair industry. Clips on youtube videos, also.

Chemicals can enter the body through the skin.

I just got a shih tzu and I never knew how to take care of a dog?

Jeremiah

My mom's co-worker gave us a 6 week old shih tzu puppy and we need to do a lot of stuff for it. Can you give me the basic information like exercise, eating, etc. What shots it will need. Why is it breathing kinda fast. Any information on a shih tzu and how to take care of a dog is useful!

Answer
Had to post in two posts. Spent too much time looking to just not post or to cut out info.
I agree with the post before mine, but I'll help.
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
Things You'll Need:
â¢Puppy food
â¢Water
â¢Dog brush
â¢Nail clippers
â¢Veterinarian
â¢Collar (these are cute=] http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3046153&utm_source=bingcashback&utm_campaign=5129249&utm_medium=cse&mr:referralID=5746a0e7-a97f-11df-b8fb-001b2166c62d
â¢Leash (a simple one is good http://www.hassonhomecenter.com/product_info.php?ref=1&products_id=847315)
1.Step 1
Feed your shih tzu puppy the same food the seller was feeding it. Since puppies digestive systems are still developing, it's important that you don't vary their diets at such a young age. Whether you purchased your puppy from a breeder, rescue foundation or pet store, inquire about the brand of puppy food they've been giving it. Follow the direction on the package if you choose to feed another brand.
2.Step 2
Have fresh water available to your puppy at all times. Hydration is key for all dogs, but particularly for puppies.
This is cool:
Dog water fountain
http://www.entirelypets.com/fountain.html?mr:referralID=c3e14845-a97d-11df-bb45-001b2166bec9
3.Step 3
Brush your shih tzu puppy daily. With their long, double coats, shih tzu's are particularly prone to tangles. If neglected, these tangles can cause hot spots, irritation and even bruising on your shih tzu's skin. Begin at your puppy's head and work your way down its body with the brush. Its entire body needs to be brushed, including legs, feet, belly and tail. Take extra care when brushing the hair around its face.
One of each:
A slicker brush
http://www.opentip.com/Pet-Supplies/Four-Paws-Ultimate-Touch-Pro-In-Brush-Medium-p-1205829.html
and a metal comb
http://www.dinodirect.com/comb-dog-grooming-metal-finishing/AFFID-56.html
4.Step 4
Use a damp cloth to clean your puppy's face every day. Remove any food particles from the area around your puppy's mouth, as well as any sleep residue from the eye area.
5.Step 5
Trim your puppy's toenails every month. You can either trim them at home, using a nail clipper designed for dogs, or take your puppy to a professional groomer.
This is a good one:
Small dog nail clippers
http://www.opentip.com/Pet-Supplies/Bamboo-Nail-Clipper-Small-p-759244.html
6.Step 6
Bathe your shih tzu puppy every four to six weeks. Use a shampoo that is designed for dogs with long hair. Make sure you completely rinse the shampoo out to avoid skin irritation issues. Apply a conditioner designed for dogs. This will help to untangle the puppy's hair and keep it soft.
This brand is good:
http://www.opentip.com/Pet-Supplies/Puppy-Shampoo-Oz-p-581452.html
7.Step 7
Remove any tangles from the puppy's coat. Use the comb to slowly ease the hairs out of the tangle. Though this can be a very time-consuming process, you should never rush it. If you pull on the tangle, you will cause your shih tzu puppy significant pain and it may result in tearing the skin.
8.Step 8
Take your puppy to a professional groomer once every two to six months, depending on the length of its hair. If you prefer a short cut on your shih tzu, you should have it clipped every two to three months. Even if you opt for long hair, take your shih tzu to the groomer every few months for maintenance care. The groomer will trim the area around its eyes, ears, mouth, anus and belly, as well as clip the nails.
Different cuts:
Short cut (this site has a lot of different pictures you could choose from http://topdogpetgroomingsalon.com/Shihtzualbum.aspx )
http://topdogpetgroomingsalon.com/images/dogsagost26-09%20006.JPG
Long cut (lots more work)
http://puppygallery.net/imagenes/otras/shih%20tzu.jpg
9.Step 9
Maintain annual checkup appointments with your puppy's veterinarian. The vet will ensure that your pup is in good health and administer necessary vaccinations.
10.Step 10
Exercise your shih tzu puppy daily. Shih tzu's don't need extensive exercise but a daily walk will promote good health in your pup. If you have a yard, play with your puppy in it daily.

ok... so I know I am sorda being unrealistic but I am going to Washington DC and I want to look nice with minimal to no makeup.. I am RAW VEGAN. My general meal plan goes like this: Breakfast: Strawberry, banana, pineapple smoothie with rice milk. I blend it then stir in 1 organic free range raw egg yolk. Snack: more fruit! (apple, orange, berries, melons, or basically whatever fruit my mom buys haha). Lunch: Large variety salad w/balsamic vinegar and olive oil and avocado... and lots of other healthy veggies. Snack: nuts and fruit. Dinner: Huge salad again. Dessert: (I allow myself to have 1 cheat item on this diet for motivation to continue) Peanut butter (I know, it is not raw...) banana and honey... Note: organic raw honey.. and organic banana.. and organic peanut butter.. so.. obviously the thing I cheat with is not that bad.. and it is good to balance all the sugar I eat from fruit!

Anways... I drink an ok amount of water.. but I should up it probably...

I workout just about everyday....

It is like my 25th day on this journey... I got rid of ALL my acne!!! (:

What my skin looks like: pale, dark spots all around my face and then right above my tee zone, my skin easily can become uneven.... Note: I wear sunscreen when I go out in the sun.. Each day, the dark spots shrink and lighten.. They are not like completely crazy looking or anything but it is noticable....

I wash my face every night with black african soap... I moisturize with rose hip oil and castor oil... my spot treatments are range from: baking soda, aspirin, tea tree oil... but those can be harsh for my sensitive skin... I am going to start using honey?? maybe... In the morning I spray my face with 5.5 cleansing kangen water.. and moisturize with small amounts of castor oil... I rub well (:

I think I am doing great.. although... I would like tips and advice to do even better! Like what foods help with my problem areas.. or what natural skin care remedies help with my problems.. or how much water I should be drinking... you know what I mean??? lol ahaha thanks in advance. (:

Answer
A raw vegan would not eat egg yolk or honey.

You could possibly be detoxing and these are just symptoms of that.
You could try organic fresh squeezed lemon and organic ACV.
Eating sugar (fructose) from fresh fruit is not bad and will not have horrible side effects, even if you are diabetic. Just be sure to balance your fruit with vegetables, especially dark greens.

Try eating 80% carbs (yes carbs) from fruit and veggies, 10% fat (coconut oil, nuts, seeds, and things like peanut butter - it can be raw if you make it yourself), 10% protein.
Aim to add some fresh fruit or even fresh squeezed lemon juice in your water (a good measure is about a gallon a day).

Take note of your type of sunscreen. A lot of sunscreens on the market of dangerous due to the chemicals contained.

The point is to alkalize your body. Aim for organic whenever possible.
I hope this helps. :)

Vegas 24/7

I saw a commericial on NBC for some type of beauty product. It claimed that dark circles under the eyes are caused by blood cells released from capillaries under the eyes. Is this true?

Answer
Some factors cause dark circles around eyes, such as heredity, lack of sleep, bone structure, sun exposure, medication, nutrition and finally hormonal changes in women.

Combat dark eye circles:

1. Drink nearly 10 glasses of water everyday
2. Ensure that you get good rest and adequate sleep
3. Eat vegetables and fruits rich in vitamin A.
4. Consume a nutritionally balanced diet
5. Apply slices of raw potato or cucumber over the eyelids for about 15 minutes.
6. Use topical creams that have Vitamin K derivatives.
7. Do facial exercises

You can find some facial exercises at:

http://www.danidaily.com/health-and-fitness/facial-exercises-part-one.php

Here are some remedy:

NIGHT TREATMENT: Almond Oil & Honey half & half mixture before bed.

MORNING TREATMENT: 1 TSP tomato juice, 1/2 TSP lemon juice, 1/2 TSP gram flour. Make paste and apply gently, cleanse after 10 minutes

TAKE DAILY: Carrot juice 8oz, Tomato juice 8oz, Papaya, Iron Supplements.

How can i lighten/remove my beauty mark?

Maria

I have this beauty mark on my leg that i'm embarrassed to wear shorts. It's the size of a pea. It's really dark compared to my skin. Are there any home remedies that will really work? If you know any please post! It would be very helpful.
Thanks.

Answer
There were totally 15 moles / black spots on my face and body before, I tried this mole remover and most of my moles were gone right now. But please pay attention, donât over use in order to avoid getting scar. Hope it works for you too.

For more information, please see the following using methods, it is very useful for unwanted moles, beauty marks, black spots.

BRAND NEW DIY MOLE VANISH WART REMOVER
10 ML Skin Care non-Laser Removal

Usage:
(1) Clean the nevus and the area around it, use a toothpick (do not use a cotton stick to tip or wipe) to mix the liquid and sediment, and then tip a little amount of the mole remover and apply it onto the middle of the nevus. The area would turn to white colour after 1 minute. Use alcohol or water to clean the mole area after 10 minutes (If you tip the amount of mole remover properly, you don't have to clean). The mole would peel off (May help with finger) in 8 to 20 days. Repeat the process again until the mole peeling off if the colour of the nevus is dark. (it is suggested applying the liquid to nevus on hands or legs first to see the results and learn to control the usage before applying the liquid to other areas of the body, DON'T TRY on FACE for the first time!)

I am burnt from tanning in a tanning bed, how long until I can tan again?

Labels:

health and beauty show 2012 image

S

I just started tanning for my first time two days ago. I am only tanning for prom so I plan on only doing it for the next two weeks. The main reason I am tanning in a bed rather than spray tanning (what I was originally going to do) is because I am in a sport right now and I'm an active teenage girl and so my back is breaking out I guess due to sweating. Firstly, I have a dress that shows my waist so I cannot wear a bathing suit/ bra. I have been going into the bed with just a thong on. I have pretty fair skin (blonde hair, blue eyed, light skinned type). In the summer I can tan but I do normally get a few sunburns. I bought a level 3 unlimited monthly package. Most people go in for 15 minutes for that package, however, considering it was my first time tanning on Friday, the lady working at the tanning salon suggested I only go in for 8 minutes, so I just did that. She said I should gradually move up in time, but make it to 15 minutes before prom. Then yesterday I also went in for 8 minutes. I was doing fine and saw a slight difference. But then, this morning I went in and there was another lady in, I told her about how I have been going in for 8 minutes and she suggested I go in for 10 today. So I got into the booth and I saw that I was in for 15 minutes. Therefore I just planned on stopping the machine when there were 5 minutes left (I ended up waiting until 4, so I was in the bed for 11 minutes). I felt fine when I got out and saw a difference. Now that it is 9pm (I went at about 11 am, I am feeling a little bit of stinging in my skin). My butt cheeks are briiiiight pink and same with my boobs. My stomach is a tan/pink and stings as well. Any suggestions on what to do/ where I went wrong? Also, how long until I can tan again, I only have until May 10th. THANK YOU!

Answer
I'll let Lisa & Glenna tell you about tanning beds.
Google Lisa and see what she looks like 2010.
"Plastic Week: Lisa Gastineau On The Dangers Of Tanning Beds"

She had 2-3 melanoma moles removed, one by her nose. She had nose surgery just to get her nose straighter, so she can breath again. She got those moles from a tanning bed.

Tanning beds aged you by 10-15 years!
Google A Death by Suntan by age 26, Yahoo Shine 3-23-10. In April 2005, while working out at her college gym in Rhode Island, 22-year-old Glenna Kohl detected a hard, golf ball-size lump near her groin. . . . .In high school, Glenna did have an irregular mole removed from her leg. A pathology report identified it as benign, but the surgeon tested it again. The lab had made an error: The mole was an early stage melanoma.

To get super tan you will have to be tanning for @ least 60 years, George Hamilton & Tom Jones are two examples, who ARE super tan! Google them.
Tanning comes & go, unless you do them everyday 24/7 for the rest of your life. But in the end the only thing you'll benefit is either moles, freckles, skin tags or discolorations from sunscreens, lotions, etc. and the more you do, the more they get larger, darker & bumpier. My nephew had a membership in a tanning bed salon for a year. After it expired, he stopped, now he's as white as before he began.

Tanning, is a result for 'damaged skin' and no products can reverse you from skin cancer or damaged skin, may prevent you from pre-mature aging, but that's part of the billion dollar beauty industry.
A new study conducted by the Indiana University School of Medicine Department of Dermatology has found that tanning bed exposure can be dangerous when tanners self-diagnose skin problems and use the radiation to treat skin eruptions. The study specifically found that a tanning bed user that used the radiation to treat a mild skin rash caused by an ibuprofen allergy developed a much more severe reaction called toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN). When left untreated, TEN can be fatal.

Does straightening hair make your hair damaged?

help

This may be a stupid question so no mean answers! Buttttt I have naturally really wavy frizzy hair. It doesn't suit me so I straighten it. I started straightening it a couple years ago and have done it ever since. I have a few split ends and my hairs a bit brittle at the ends. But I do put hair serums and Moroccan oil at the ends of my hair before I blow dry and straighten. Is there any ways to straighten hair without a straightener. I'm thinking of doing a Brazilian blowdry but I heard it ruins hair. How to i get my hair healthy again?

Hair-straightening products are allowed to contain small concentrations of formaldehyde (0.2 percent).

NO MATTER which link you picked, they all suggest the same foods. Your hair may be the fastest-growing tissue in the body but, unlike the skin, it cannot repair itself. That is why getting the right balance of vitamins and proteins is imperative. Don't expect to look like you've stepped out of a hair commercial the day after you've changed your diet. It is likely to take at least three months before you actually see tangible results. Hair is dead, but hair also has electrical energy; the negative charge of damaged hair can lead to flyways and unruly hair.

Growing healthy hair doesn't come from a bottle or pills and hair products do not speed hair growth. Any hair oil, is another form to keep hair moisturized, nothing more. If you're in HS, your hair & nails should be growing normally, and as healthily as possible, since you're eating healthy foods. But when hair isn't growing as fast, it's because they've been tampered with: chemicals, hair straightening, etc. . .

Can anyone recommend a really good skin care line?

I'm 35 years old and looking for a great skin care line to try. I'd like something specific to my skin type (normal-dry), and something to slow the aging process.

I would love to see what you have used and the kind of results you have had. All recommendations are truely appreciated.

Thanks!

Answer
OK, forget all the famous brands, and stick to my secret(not a secret anymore, lol) for a month and you will see the grate result, ready? here is my secret:
during the day what ever fruits or vegetables you eat, such as apple, cucumber etc., when you peel it put them in you face for as long as you can about 10 minutes is enough, then wash it with only water. Also once a day mask it with plane (don't use none fat) yogurt for 15 minutes, and before you go to bed wash it with a very simple, no perfume soap (like baby soap), and this is the best thing, massage your face with vitamin E Oil (24,000 unit).
and when you wake up in the morning do the washing and put more E Oil on your face.
You can help your skin by eating the right food , specially eat an apple a day, two cucumbers , and find more natural food for skin in websites.
After a month you can email me, let me know how was it.

How do I get rid of my acne?

Unknownn

Hi everyone ! So like I have been dealing with horrible acne for past almost 7 years straight. I used many products and home remedies and yet none seems to work and it is really frustrating. I started growing acne when I was about 10 years old and now I'm turning 17 I'm going to be done with high school pretty soon and what sucks the most is that all my kid/teenage life I suffered from not being pretty. I have been having acne for so long that I don't even know how it feels like to have a perfect acne free skin. It makes me feel so insecure that I'm always staying home and not wanting to go outside or see anyone. I honestly hate makeup cause it hides your natural beauty and yet I use makeup just to cover up my ugliness and I still see no difference and I don't want to wear it but i still do.. Don't judge I know you're not supposed to wear makeup while having acne but I'm pretty sure if anyone had bad acne they would want to cover it up too. My acne is so noticeable that nothing covers it up. I do have my skin doctor and i told him about my skin problems thinking he'd care but nope he is just like the rest. He gives me These crappy products/medicines to use and says how it'll get all better, I've been having him for past 4 years and yet nothing changed, Like when will my time come? It feels like as if things got even worse. Back then I had a way lighter skin but now my acne is so bad that it totally changed my face skin color. My face is like a dark dirty ugly color comparing to my neck/other part of my body, I'm tired of people judging me and treating me bad. Where I live all everyone cares about Is money and especially look. If you have look then you have everything, Even people would believe you for your look. Everyone looks at me and feels so bad about me including my own parents/friends, it's so upsetting knowing that there's no one to talk to about it. My mom is probably one of the most gorgeous woman I have ever seen and but she's always treating me bad cause I'm not pretty. She feels embarrassed to be around me in public or parties cause people would look at me. Some people would even come up to my mom and ask her if I'm her daughter and then they'd add along saying how I look nothing like my mom or something like oh. You should give her this or that/Treat her acne. Like I don't know. Why can't everyone just leave me alone. How would you feel if someone comes up to you every time saying you should use this product or that kind. My friends from school would say I look pretty without even looking at me and say how I should get over it but when they grow one small pimples they go all crazy saying how they look like an ugly beast and comes to me saying how their life is ruined just cause they grew one pimple. If I try calming them down they'd look at me saying "no offense to you, why am I even asking you, you can't get rid of yourself" or like "well you've been living with acne all your life so you got used to it" Yup surely are real friends. I have a bunch of acne and they say I look pretty and if they grow one pimple they turn ugly? Like yeah that makes sense.. Most of the times, I hate being around with my friends cause they all are really pretty and i'm the only not normal looking one here. Its like I'm the only girl from our school that has acne. I have never seen anyone from my school with acne and everyone would look at me as if i'm a monster. Whenever I'm with my friends, I see guys hitting on them, I'm always the invisible one no matter who I'm with. Guys would always call out saying "The girl in blue/red top you're cute" or like "The girl with the light skin you're pretty" Sometimes my own best friend makes me feel bad by asking my other friends with truth or dare "Whose the ugliest one from this class?" and half of them would look at me and they'd say "I'd rather not answer that". I'm just tired of everything and seeing none there supporting me. Not even my own mom gets what i go through instead she'd talk about how it's better adopting a homeless child than giving birth to me. Like It's not my fault for growing acne. I wash my face 3 times a day with this face wash that my doctor gave just to keep my face clean but still one by one I grow more. I thought finally summers here I'll be able to get rid of my acne but schools gonna start in about a month and things got even worse than it already is. I got even way darker even by staying home? I haven't even went out anywhere ever since school ended. Honestly my life makes no sense. I am EXTREMELY SORRY for making this so long. I just have no one to talk to or to share my life experience!

Answer
I think you should go and get a prescription from the doctor if your acne is that bad. I have active acne right now myself and I was prescribed with tablets and cream I only have to take one tablet at night and apply the cream once at night.

There is going to be a 'sudden cure' for acne. Most people get acne and it's nothing to be ashamed about. It happens to some people and it's like you choose to have acne. It's great that you don't wear makeup as the makeup will only clog the pores causing the skin to produce from oil and making your face worse. I think you should embrace your skin. Because it's know that people with acne and oily skin tend to get less wrinkles than most people.

There is no point in staying in your house just because you are worried about your acne, your stopping yourself going out and having friends. You could be sat on the sofa stuffing your face with fatty foods. Only making your face worse ..

The only thing that I can advice for you to do is eating healthy this is not mean you have to cut all fatty foods out just meaning eating more healthy. Drink plenty of water as this will help you flush your skin out, wash your face twice daily using products that suit your skin tone. Give your skin time to heal!

And finally HAVE FUN AND DON'T WORRY WHAT PEOPLE THINK

How do you go about launching your own skin care line?

Labels:

skin care industry on ... do not do,
skin care industry image

Paradise

Do you have to go to school for it? It's something I've always wanted to do however, I'm absolutely HORRIBLE at the sciences/math. It's stressful. But I've always had skin issues growing up and would like to help others in advising what to use and stuff. I'd like my own skin care line.

If you don't need school, how do you start?

Answer
You would have to have some eduation, and experience to back up your progress. You can't just open up your own line and be like "hey, this stuff works for me! It might work for you too." , because certain people are allergic to different things. For instance, I have mild urticaria (exema) and its a skin condition in which the skin reacts to an allergic reaction to something. My skin swells up and it gets like hives on it. In order to specialize in any part of the skin industry, you would have to go to school and major in dermatology which is the she study of the physiology and pathway of the skin. I would say about 2 years would be the required amount of school to open up your own skin line. I use benadril or zyrtec to help my skin condition, and I've only had it for 6 months. I'm only seventeen, and I'm sitting here saying why does this have to happen to me? I don't deserve this, but let me tell you: it can happen to "anyone". I've lived for seventeen years without any skin problems and then boom it hits me. It's not really a big deal, my skin will just turn red and swollen and then it dissapears within minutes. But for your skin care line, I guarantee that you will need some education to open it up. Put yourself in the customers shoes, "would you want to apply something to your skin that you have no idea what it may do to your skin, and knowing that the seller has no education or not enough education about the product?"- No, I don't think you would want to apply that to your skin. I sure wouldn't apply something to my skin, or much less even purchase a skin care product from anyone that didn't go to school to obtain the information and knowledge about the skin care product. So go to school for it, and then you can open up a skin care line. You could possibly try to open one without any knowlegde but I think thats illegal and youre business wouldnt last. Now if you went to school and obtained a degree in dermatology or something of the skin nature, then I would bet a dollar to weak old donut you would make a killing :)

Hope all this helps. Try googling it next time. Do some research on skin and see what you can learn about it. You would be amazed because I sure was when I had to learn about it.

Good Luck:)

What facts support this notion involving women in the beauty industry?

Reasonwith

I argue that women who work in the beauty industry (make-up sales, perfume sales, sephora, beauty product floor of a department store, esthetitcians, cosmetology, skin care, spa owners) locate their agency according to corporate empowerment, self-designed beauty standards, and opportunities for fiscal growth and self-support. Women in the US have historically faced obstacles upon entry into many industries. Generally, because many industries are dominated by male-centric values and corporate life isnât always suiting to a woman. However women have done well in the beauty industry, what are the statistics and facts that support this notion?

Answer
The 'beauty industry' provides a number of low-wage retail positions (make up sales, perfume sales, sephora, beauty product floor of a department store) and low wage service positions (estheticians, cosmetology, skin care) which hardly lead to 'empowerment', nor financial self-sufficiency.

Women may do well by figuring out the percentage of women employed in such positions, but doubtfully if you are comparing the wages earned by a similar age and educated male labor set.

http://www.fedstats.gov is a good resource to find all sorts of statistics maintained by various federal agencies, or you can go straight to the Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Run It Out

Ive tried everything....should I try the phytomer skin care line?
It's about $150.00 for a 2-4 month supply.

I have really bad acne recently and definitely a lot of scarring now.

Thoughts?

Answer
I would not recommend that you use another product. The most common mistake people make is using too many products, which can make the problem worse. To clear up pimples or acne keep your face scrupulously clean - a mild soap and water is all you need unless you have significant outbreaks and then you should use an antibacterial soap. Wash only twice a day. Rinse well. Drink plenty of water. Avoid touching your face if you have not first washed your hands - our hands have TONS of bacteria on them. If you do get a pimple, do not pick at it. Treat it by using a hot wet compress (clean washcloth) two or three times a day. If you want to use a moisturizer, use olive oil. It really does work and is not at all greasy, despite what you might think. Never put anything on your skin that you would not also consider eating, as if it is rubbed into the skin it is also absorbed into the blood stream. If you do these things and you still have uncontrolled outbreaks of pimples, see your doctor, as you may have acne, which usually requires prescription medication.

Jimmy

I want to know what kind of license needed to do laser skin care( eye brow tatoo removal, age spot etc.) With an estheician license, will it be enough? Thanks

Answer
It depends where you live and what the local or state requirements are. In some states, you only need to work under a doctor's supervision and don't need an esthetic license, which I find a bit scary. I would never want to go to anyone who does not have appropriate education. Esthetic license should get you in anywhere. There are advances esthetic courses you can take as well since many physicians want people who are experienced on the machines. Each machine is different though, and some states require direct education from the machine's manufacturer before allowing estheticians to use it.

Good luck.

I'm almost 17 and I know having acne at this age is considered normal but I absolutely dread having acne! I personally think I have pretty severe acne. I have a lot of big red pimples all over my face and a dull complexion due to acne scars. Luckily I only have this acne on my face and no where else on my body. I'm really sick of my acne because it hurts and it also lowers my self esteem. I'm willing to try anything to get this acne off my face! Please tell me any great home remedies or products that really help to get rid of my acne and scars. Or if you have personal experiences with acne, please tell me what you did to get rid of it including skin care routines and products you used. Even though it can't get rid of all my acne, I would like to see my acne reduce over time using the remedies you give me. Thank you, I appreciate all answers given on this topic.

Any kind of facial wash, you're leaving something toxic behind, it's not a matter of convenience, it's a billion dollar business that can do more harm than good to your acne. And sometimes we feel entirely virtuous about our skin-care regimen because it's full of SPF-- all year round!-- and cleansers and such. But the truth is, we may not realize that we're overdoing (or underdoing) something that can lead to the very thing we're trying to avoid: dryness, breakouts, accelerated aging, New York dermatologist Dr. Jeannette Graf. (I've been giving this same advice for decades, but she's proof enough!).
Take a shower everyday, use washcloth to exfoliate and bath & body wash. Hydrogen peroxide does wonders for acne. Visit their website for more tips & other uses. ONLY $1.

Acne medication could worsen what ever allergies you have, so instead of trying out one product after another, you're actually spreading it around.
The less products you use, the better for your skin. Use a bath & body wash like Suave, Irish Spring, Dove Body & Face wash in the shower, use a washcloth. Treat your face like the rest of your body, take a shower everyday or wash your face everyday.

The secret is keeping your face clean and oil-free. I also don't use liquid on my face for anything, and very little moisturizer, not even a dime size. Since my face is not dry. Good skin also comes from your good genes. Increase your fresh fruits & vegetables 3-5 servings per day. And programmed your mind to do this day after day, for the rest of your life.

Sometimes just the oil on your face from make up and lotions, even from your hair can travel to your face causing acne to come out. Others, from stress, hormones & diet or foods.

Adam Lambert has the worst acne scars. JLo, even Demi Moore have been seen with scars on their faces during interviews. Seal, the musician, Heidi Klum's ex have you seen the scar on his face? Demi in October 2012 issue of 'People magazine, showed her freckles (acne?) on the cover and inside article photo showed she had them removed but there was a 'hole' and no makeup could fill that in. How about Jennifer Hudson 'flea beaten scars' on her legs, as if she had itched them and got infected. I had some of those when I was a kid. Anyway . . . with all their money they're making now, even beauty products can't do anything about their faces or should I say scars.
Avoid too much sun exposure, so it won't make your scars even DARKER permanently. Skin heals. So let your skin heals.

Sunscreens or lotions does not protect you from nasty, painful burns. Lotions does not protect you from skin cancer. Lotions does not protect you from skin diseases. Lotions does not protect you from discolorations - permanently. And lotions does not protect you from skin tags, freckles, moles, they will only get larger, darker, and bumpier as they are exposed from UV.

If acne's a problem, your pillowcases may be part of the cause. "They collect skin oil, dead skin cells, bacteria, and excess night creams," says David Bank, a professional Dermatology @ Columbia University/New York-Presbyterian Hospital. "If you have breakouts, dairy is the devil' it is inflammatory and will add hormones to your already hormone-rife system. Get calcium elsewhere, or try nonfat organic dairy products. For PMS breakouts, avoid dairy and bakery items the week before your period - sugar and flour are both causes for pimples and collagen." Another good example is Lily Collins, actor, writer, artist: "When I travel to Europe, I go days without putting anything on. It feels healthier. I just never understood the idea of caking it on. The more you have on your face, the more there is to smudge and go wrong." Glamour - Sept. 2012.

How to take care of my acne and dark spots?

Erica Tayl

I'm fifteen years old and I have many dark spots from previous break outs. I don't really have a lot of pimples just spots, but I don't have any bad indents in the skin. My skin is also very dry even though I dont put any acne product on it and i moisturize it daily. Also I wear makeup almost every day unless i'm not going out. I'm currently taking a prescribed pill and daily skin vitamins to get rid of my acne and I wash it in the morning and at night, but is there anything else I can do? Usually about once a week I also use pore strips and do a few masks as well, so I should have good or at least better skin. But despite all this my skin still breaks out occasionally and I still have spots. Any tips?

How about Jennifer Hudson 'flea beaten scars' on her legs, as if she had itched them and got infected. I had some of those when I was a kid. Just as recently as October, I had a tiny spider (?) bite where my watch was, and after 2 weeks, it was dried and I thought it was healing, so I peeled it. Even though it was covered by my watch, there is a tiny freckle there now, but it had heeled, except it was darker. I should just let it fall off, when it was time instead of 'rushing it, exposing tender skin. This is now Dec and the freckle is not going away. Update it's January now, and I could hardly see it.
