How can I make my skin lighter without using chemicals?

Labels:

health and beauty uses for baking soda on Baking soda - used for baking cake
health and beauty uses for baking soda image

Q. I am african american with dry skin and I wanted to know some ways to help make my skin lighter without using skin lightening creams or chemicals.

Answer
There are a few things you can do to make you skin more even toned and lighter. I often use these tricks on my clients who have blotchy or scarred skin and I have seen great results. Typically, their skin will become more even toned within weeks, and they do not get constant facials.

1: I use a great product all-natural product that balances the oil in their skin, makes the face brilliant and more even toned, and eliminates all their fine lines, age spots, dark scars, and blemishes. It is all natural, so it shouldn't give you any problems. It is called No More Shame Skin Brightening and Clarifying Kit. It works extremely fast because it uses organic sugar cane and essential oils as its base. This product exfoliates and smoothes the skin wonderfully while lightening scars and smoothing the skin. It contains aloe, lavender, patchouli, cocoa butter, vitamin e, coconut oil, lemon, tea tree, and orange, all which help to create a more even toned face. Beauty 4 Ashes Christian Health & Beauty makes it. It is available at wwwdiscoverb4acom. I believe they also have a scar cream.

2: If you don't get the kit, try taking a tablespoon of lemon juice, 3 tablespoons of baking soda, and 1 teaspoon honey and mix it together in a bowl to make a homemade face scrub. Lemon juice lightens and brightens the skin. Honey is a great moisturizer and it kills bacteria. This may help dark circles and skin tone issues.

Does anyone know of a website where I can find uses for products like vinegar, baking soda, and other products?

Cutie Pie

I'm looking for a book or a website that has any and all products that you can use for cleaning stuff at home or even for your own health and beauty. I know there is things for vinegar and baking soda. Please help

Answer
I don't know a specific website like you asked, but if you type into google or another search engine something like 'Make your own cleaning products' or 'how to make cleaning products' or even 'household uses for vinegar/ baking soda' something should come up. I think About.Com might have something too.

Although, I suppose you knew that already.

Q. i have jsut qualified as a beauty therapist and i feel i want more out of my life - i want to move to spain and be a therapist out there but i dont have the foggiest idea of where to go or how i go about finding a job out there???? anyone have any contacts or know any website where i can find a job out there????

Answer
I live in Spain and I am British expat here, I have lived here for 10 years now and although it can be hard to get yourself settled and find work, you will find that Spain is moving on in leaps and bounds and the opportunities are now greater, there is a great recruitment website that will be able to help you and have a good selection of jobs in all areas, they also have a good advice centre that will help you get to know the areas

http://www.ambientjobs.com/advice.php
http://www.ambientjobs.com/health_beauty_jobs.php

The following area guide may also be of some use to you
http://www.directestates.com/area-guide.php

Good luck in your search and if you need further help give me a shout :)

By the way you can just come here without paperwork and get yourself an NIE when you arrive here, Spain and the UK are in the EU now so any company you work for will sort out your social and your papers you require to work, don't worry about that too much .- trust me been here a long time ;)

What do you think about this idea?

Sophia

I am playing devils advocate today (as I AM a conservative ...well more like a liberitarian). Anyway, I was thinking about when we get Obamacare in full roll, could it cause some people to go out on their own (like quit their jobs) and start their own companies. Does it encourage more small businesses since a lot people are scared to start their own companies (even if they have a "dream") because they would not have good benefits or even worse, be denied because of pre-exisitng health problems. Now that we will have a government run system and everyone HAS to get it , if they employed or not.....maybe more people will be encouraged to be self-employed?
I know my husband is European and ALL of our friends overseas are self-employed (one owns a realestate company, one owns a internet marketing firm, one owns a recruiting firm, one owns a beauty salon, one has like a life coaching business, and one owns a cooking school). Granted, they are all SMALL businesses but they are all successful. They DO pay a crap load of taxes over there though (52%!!!!) but at least they are free from corporate America to follow their dreams and not forced to have a job they do not like because of health benefits. Just a thought. ......trying ot think positive today. What are your thoughts?
I do have my own business so I guess that is why I relate with people like this.

From where i can get natural skin care and organic skin care?

Jennifer

what is the difference between both of them and tell me about some good Skin Care Products.
Thanks in advance.
:)

Answer
I would also suggest Lush for natural and organic skin care products. Some of their products are pricey, but overall they are very affordable.

And as far as the difference between natural and organic, I've provided a link below that goes into more detail, but essentially they both mean the same. Minimal processing and additives. However, "organic" is regulated and "natural" is not. So "natural" may not be as natural as some would prefer.

Since Lush's products are natural and organic they will have an expiration date. Most are around 3 months. Hope this helps.

Has anyone ever used Cracked heel skin softener with Emu Oil from Walgreens ?

Sun

Walgreens Cracked Heel Skin Softener with Emu Oil. I would like to use this on my feet to help with really dry skin and painful feet. I was given a small jar of this but do not see an expiration date anywhere on it, and the person does not know when they bought it . Does anyone know if a product having Emu Oil in it does expire at some point ?

Answer
Emu oil is great, however, I would strongly recommend, Miracle foot repair from walmart. will cost about ten bucks and you get immediate relief. the skin softens quicker and you can just slough it away with a ped egg a couple of days later. I took care of my mom until she died 2 years ago, I used bleach on everything even my kitchen floor and would walk in bare feet. this caused dryness and extreme pain from extreme dryness on my feet. Walgreens may also have miracle foot/heal repair, get it, you will be so happy and relieved.

Why do I see so many men that shave their arms, backs and chest?

I had a date with a 40 year old man last weekend and he took better care of his skin than a woman. He told me that he does not like body hair. His physique is nice though.

I just feel like men today are becoming more feminine in ways and that ain't all bad. Just don't go over the line :-)

Answer
I dont think shaving your body hair makes you less of a man. He might just be super hairy. Most guys that are really hairy shave a lot. I'm not a hairy guy so I rarely shave. Plus women nowadays don't like body hair all that much

Should I use developer 40 to help dye my hair res?

omg1kas

I have long, black, thick wavy/curly hair. I dyed my hair red with loreal hilights for
Dark her + 30 developer. Midway down my hair did not take as good as the first half. Should i redo t with 30 or 40?

I have never dyed my hair before and i never flat iron it. Should i just use the 40 to get the brightest I want?

Answer
You should have bought the home dye KIT.
Style meets chemistry meets biology: We're talking hair coloring.

Playing with chemicals is not like playing with clothes, or doing a manicure, there are penalties for playing chemicals in the lab. Even hair color experts at the salon are not rocket scientists, they do a bang up dye jobs to their clients or their own hair. Overlapping dye onto previously colored hair is what creates dullness and dryness. If you color your hair @ home or salon, let your roots grow out as long as you can stand, so the line of demarcation is easier to spot. Only run color through the lengths for five minutes to refresh the ends. To extend the time between touch-ups, use a gloss and deep -conditioning treatments. They will help smooth cuticles roughed up by daily wear & tear, and the hair will look shinier. ~ Harry Josh, hairstylist of the celebrities.

Celebrity wears two-tone hair dye all the time, trying to grow out their dye. They call that the ombre style.

Chemicals can enter the body through the skin.
> > > Hair dye chemicals linked to cancer
London, Feb 20, 2013 I've been saying that since 2009.
Hair dyes, which include home hair colouring kits and those used at pricey salons, are linked to deadly cancer-causing chemicals, warn scientists. In 2009 the Mail revealed that women who used hair dyes more than nine times a year had a 60% greater risk of contracting blood cancer.
A year later the European Commission banned 36 hair dyes which put long-term users at risk of bladder cancer. < < < <â¨
Google: Teen 'feared she would die' after reaction to hair dye
The allergic reaction was caused by a well-known brand of semi-permanent hair dye Chloe used to turn her hair black for a Halloweâen party. . . . . called for beauty bosses to ban hair dye chemical PPD (para-phenylenediamine) from the shelves. 11-04-11

The chemical is not new and is present in a number of brands of dark hair colours, acting to help adhere the dye to the hair so that it doesn't wash out. Itâs made from coal tar and is used in both permanent and semi-permanent hair colours. Itâs well-known to be a cause of serious allergic reactions -- including something called contact dermatitis which can lead to rashes, blisters, and open sores.
PPD is sometimes added to black henna tattoos and that using them is not safe. Allergic reactions usually begin within two to 10 days following application. One bad reaction can lead to sensitivities to other products such as hair dye, sunblock and some types of clothing dyes. Oftentimes, it's using the product a second or third time. Skin specialist Najjia Ashraf reveals that there are barely any dyes that donât contain this toxin; even the ones who claim they donât, are not being honest. âBig brands often escape the blame by suggesting they are ammonia-free. However, ammonia and PPD are two very different things and PPD is present in nearly every dye because it is what gives off the colour,â she explains.

Google: A 38-year old mother left in a coma after using hair dye. SHE DYED HER HAIR MANY TIMES BEFORE, USING THE SAME BRAND. The British woman who went into coma after a reaction to hair dye has died after a year. Updated 11-25-12. The woman suffered a heart failure, struggled for breath and became unconsciousness. Her family blamed paraphenylenediamine, a chemical found in hair colour. Her family has now called for paraphenylenediamine to be banned from home dye kits. In 2000, a 38-year-old Indian-origin woman from Birmingham, Narinder Devi, died after an allergic reaction to hair dye.

Permanent black hair dye is linked to causing leukemia and lymphomas.

foreskin attached to bottom of the glans?

skin care glossary image

Larry S

what can i do about my foreskin being physically attached to the bottom of my glans/ im 15y.o. and i have had this since about 10 y.o.

Answer
It is perfectly normal NOT to be able to retract your foreskin when you are a child. When you are an infant the foreskin is actually attached to the glans (head) of your penis and naturally detaches itself normally somewhere between the age of 5 and 10. Smegma is formed as the foreskin adhesions break down.

As well as being attached to the glans of the penis the foreskin of a child can also be naturally âtightâ. In other words not all boys have a foreskin that is loose and easily retractable even when it has detached from the glans. It is somewhat normal therefore for the foreskin to require some stretching before it is easily retractable and an inability to retract the foreskin in children does not necessarily indicate a âproblemâ.

The foreskin is stretched ânaturallyâ when the penis becomes erect or the boy himself manually retracts the foreskin to urinate, wash or masturbate.

Check out the pics in the link below which shows how a foreskin retracts once detached from the glans and the foreskin is sufficiently loose.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:A_Foreskin_Retraction_Series.JPG
About 5% of males cannot retract their foreskin by the age of 17.

Even when the foreskin is fully retractable there should still be a strip of skin called the 'frenulum' attached underneath... this never detaches. See the following link. http://www.foreskin.org/frenulum.htm

If it is the frenulum that is stopping your foreskin from pulling back or it seems to be too short you could have a condition known as a âfrenulum breveâ. See these links
http://www.circumstitions.com/Images/Glossary/frenulum-breve.jpg
http://www.london-urology.co.uk/frenuloplasty.htm

If the foreskin is detached from the glans of your penis but is not fully retractable because the âholeâ in your foreskin is too small to allow the glans to come out AND the foreskin does not appear to be stretching over time you may have a condition known as âPhimosisâ.

Phimosis is not uncommon and often resolves itself through puberty as the normal practice of masturbation stretches the foreskin to the point where it retracts fully. To stretch your foreskin simply try to retract it a little more each time you shower, urinate or masturbate. Otherwise you can do stretching exercises as describe in the links below.

You should NEVER force a tight foreskin back when you are erect or hold it back prior to becoming erect. Forcing or holding the foreskin back can hurt and cause injury including âParaphimosisâ where the tight foreskin restricts blood flow to the glans.

If your foreskin is very tight, is not stretching or loosening over time, or still feels firmly attached to the head of your penis you should see a doctor. A doctor can prescribe steroid creams which assist with the stretching process.

In extreme cases of phimosis circumcision might be recommended but this is usually a last resort.

Segals solution or Folligen lotion for Hair loss?

aegan

Segals solution or Folligen lotion for Hair loss?I have hair loss and dandruff for past ten years(huh...pretty fed up). Please suggest of the two which really works?

Answer
You've found solutions for hair loss, but you NEED to find cause, and when you eliminate them, YOUR HAIR will improve.

1. DANDRUFF: 1. The sun causes skin to get flaky. Same with hair. Massage your scalp when you shampoo.
2. Using hot water & frequently washing, makes ME have dishpan hands add sun to the formula both damaging, so does the hair. Use warm water and less washing. Rinse well.
Google: How to Cure Dandruff Using Only Cool Water
Rinsing Off with Cool Water, Can Cure Dandruff!

2. HAIR LOSS: Reasons why that might have happened, below is a short form of why.

1. During the last 3 years, OK 2, how have you been styling or have you been straightening & dyeing or highlighting your hair?
Google FDA website Hair dye & relaxers. Those are 75% the reason why.

2. Have you been taking supplements or using hair oil? Supplements ($42 billions are wasted and could hurt your lungs, liver, organs even HAIR LOSS). FDA has found that from face creams to soaps and other items of personal care, cosmetics companies are taking the general public for a ride. Oil could be coming from eels or shark. Another 5% why. CNN, Slate, Consumer Reports, MSN, YAHOO have posted them online for years how people spend $20 billion per year on vitamins and supplements.  According to Everyday Health, here's an article that will tell you why . . . those PRODUCTS by any other name do NOT WORK.  It is false advertisements. Google: Are Supplements Good For You? About 3,350,000,000 results results (0.13 seconds).  Google: Are vitamins & supplements good for you? About 230,000,000 results (0.14 seconds) Some can actually shorten your life! The Food & Drug do not approve of them!

3. Have you been stressed out or changed your diet? Genetics of balding runs in your family? Another 10% why.

4. Have you been taking medications with testosterone, certain antidepressants, menopause, anti-acne? Even birth control pills can cause hair loss. The medication most often prescribed for thyroid disorders can actually cause hair loss. Another 10% why you have hair falls.
Eliminate the cause and your hair will improve.

5. Google "Boise teen goes on Today Show to talk about losing her hair." She's got Alopecia, 100% why you have hair loss.

Dove hairfall facts:
1. Humidity makes hair dry and brittle, leading to hairfall
2. Colouring the hair damages the hair strands leading to breakage
3. Pollution is also an unseen killer of healthy hair
4. Tangled hair is the most common reason for hair fall
5. While shampooing cleanses your hair, regular conditioning is required for adequate moisturization. Regular use of conditioner post shampoo also solves the problem of entangling which is the major cause of hairfall.
For women: A simple blood test can reveal the root of the problem. Unfortunately, those who do see a physician right away make the mistake of going to a dermatologist rather than their primary care physician. Most dermatologists will review the physical signs of hair loss and diagnose it as female pattern baldness.  Your primary care physician will run tests to diagnose the problem so you can take steps to correct it.

Eliminate cause and your hair will improve. Not overnight, it could take weeks, months, even years, since it took that long to start the hair loss.

If you think they're from your beauty or hair products:
Take it back to where you bought it.
Stop using it ASAP.
You are encouraged to report negative side effects of prescription drugs & cosmetics to the FDA. Visit the FDA MedWatch website or call 1-800-FDA-1088.

Google: Glossary of Hair Loss Terms. There are 179 entries in this glossary. Stress is just one of the 179 listed.
Again, a simple rule of thumb: Look for the American Hair Loss Association seal when considering purchasing any product or service to treat your hair loss.

> > > ONE treatment called DNCB -- applying an ointment that burns the scalp in hopes of stimulating hair growth. It was a treatment so painful that her head was at times left feeling raw.

How can I live better this summer?

Last summer I didn't do much besides Volleyball and Softball and surfing occasionally. I'm not doing softball this summer, but I do have volleyball workouts every morning from 7-9, and I'm not much of a morning person. How can I take good care of myself this summer, make some money, and hang out with friends and boyfriend? Beauty tips? Health tips? This is really an open question. The more you say, the better chance you have of Best answer(:

Answer
Maybe get a job at Sports Chalet. They always look for sporty people. And you can look up nail tutorials and pain your nails in a cool pattern, (i just painted my nails in a watermelon pattern for summer, yay!) Go surfing with friends or just chill and have a fun movie night. Try eating healthy but delicious snacks like apples and peanut butter. Picnics in a park or on a beach is a perfect romantic date and not so expensive. Also, spend personally time with the family and enjoy the beautiful nature around you. Reading in the grass while getting a tan is always fun and consumes a decent amount of time. Try painting pictures of the landscapes around you. Start trying things you've never done before (YOLO) and help others around you.

What Hairstyle would look good with a round face?

Autumn

I have a round face shape. My hair is blonde, thin, stright, and long. Im wanting something like Shakiras in La Tortura but i dont know if thatd look good or not. Pictures would be appreciated thank you.

Answer
If your face is round, the best hairstyles generally include:

1. Layered bangs rather than straight or heavy bangs.

What can you buy with a CVS select card?

Does anyone know what you can purchase with a CVS select card? I know it is health and beauty products but every time I go and purchase something like medicine or etc. It isn't covered and I have a gift card for $50.00. If anyone has a list of items you can buy or at least knows if you can by baby formula and diapers and what brands and etc are covered that would be great since thats probably what I will use it for.

Answer
According to CVS the "Select Card" is...

Selectively filtered card based on current FSA allowable spending.

Allows recipient to buy a full range of health-related products from allergy remedies to baby care and more.

Filters out purchases like cigarettes, alcohol and items not supporting a healthy lifestyle.

It looks like you CAN use it for your Baby needs.

How can I convince my mum to let me be vegan?

Nahtaliee

I would generally be buying the majority of my own food (I'm 16 and have a part time job). I guess I would learn how to cook it to, but she thinks it's bad for your health and stuff. Is it really bad?

Also, what are some tips for when you first turn vegan? Thanks :)

Answer
the best way to convince your mother is to be well educated about the subject, learn as much as you can and bombard her information such as complete proteins from vegetables (if you don't know what are the types of essential amino acids that humans need you have a lot of work to do), read up on nutrition and what are the essential vitamins and minerals that you can get from plants, you should also need to inform your mother that your lifestyle is going to be much better than your previous lifestyle. its like going to a board room meeting with all the top executives and you need to convince the executives (this case your mum) that the product you're about to market (being a vegan) is better than the previous one (being an omnivore). you also need to keep in mind that she's your mother and all she cares about is your well being and bringing you up to her healthy daughter, ergo you need to give her a talk that will convice her that your vegan lifestyle is healthy and it has a lot of benefits. you have to tell her that youre going to be a vegan for 3 months (after that you'll have enough proof that this is not just a fad and youre accustomed to the lifestyle and will never come back to eating meat). Being a vegan also carries a deep moral and ethical attachment, you need to prove yourself by being well informed, well read and well fed. and if youre not a vegetarian yet, i highly advised to tackle a gradual progression, which means you need to be better at it every day like knowing what to eat, what not to eat, whats good, complex carbs, simple carbs, complete proteins, incomplete proteins, dha, epa. theres a lot of work to do in your part to be a vegan, its not just a diet, its a lifestyle, its a way of life.

TIPS: I started as a vegetarian (no meat no eggs no milk but i wasnt well informed enough to know everything i was 14, i didnt know what gelatin was after a month of gradual progression i knew almost everything there was to know about being a vegan) most important tip gradually take out foods out of your diet (diet means youre eating habits, what you put in your mouth) so that you wont relapse because youre going to crave your old favourite foods since your body havent adjusted to the vegan regime, once youre finally comfortable of being a vegetarian (3 months of no meat should be your gauge, unless you are pesto-veg) you will start to crave for vegetarian foods which is great. then its time to up the ante, go vegan after that but during your vegetarian phase you should read up on what NOT to eat (gelatin, glycerine, milk, eggs, made from a factory that manufactures milk/eggs,meat products) learn how to read nutrition labels, learn what products are vegan approved and was not tested on animals, remember wearing leather is just as foul as eating meat (ripping an animals skin is not better than cutting it nor eating it)

RECAP: 1. Take a gradual progression approach (3 months vegetarian/taking meat out of your diet)
2. Be well informed (start with goveg.org)
3. Be morally and ethically aware on whats going on (peta.org)
4. Being a vegan is not just the way you eat, its a lifestyle, its a way of life
5. Keep learning new things about veganism everyday, the beauty about life is you cannot out evolve your lifespan, there are enough levels to move up. Dont stop and say "i have arrived now", take that mentally off and be humble because you will learn new things about the lifestyle everyday or atleast execute it well enough
6. Personal resolve, youre incharge and youre having an impact wether its one of your priorities or not, youre saving the planet, you reduce greenhouse gasses, youre ethical and moral standards should be at par with your ideoligies as a vegan
7 HAVE FUN, if youre not having fun and youre not happy about it, that means youre not doing it right and its not for you

How long is too long to go before eating breakfast?

Kamarei

I like to work out before I do much anything else in the morning.
It's usually cooler in temperature, I don't have to wait until the food has settled in my stomach, and it energizes me for the rest of the day.

My worry is that I'm waiting too long to eat breakfast after waking up.
Usually after taking care of chores, working out, showering+after shower hygienic/skin care and preparing the food it can be around 3 hours. This is after 8 hours+ of sleep, normally going to bed 4 hours after dinner (Though I may have a snack between dinner and bed)

Answer
not a big deal
just take say 40-60 mins lets say
but i dont think u need to worry an have some proteins with some complex carbs

What is a good face cleaning routine to keep skin healthy and as pimple-free as possible?

Q. I'm 13, so I have a little acne . it comes and goes, and it really only goes away completely if I keep REALLY close watch on it..ugh.
But what's a good skin care routine? For sensitive skin (preferred)..
10 points will be given for best answer!!!

Answer
First of all, drink a lot of water. Divide your weight by 2 and that's how many ounces of water you should be drinking a day. (Most water bottles are 16.9 fl oz so for example, if you weigh 120 pounds then you should drink 60 fl oz of water which is about 4 bottles of water.) Water is very important because it hydrates your skin and loosens the dirt in your pores.

Also, I use Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser along with my clarisonic mia. Clarisonic mia cleans your skin better than cleaning with hands, about 6x better. Avoid using oily products, make sure they are non-comedogenic. (don't clog pores.)

Clarisonic is so great even Oprah Winfrey approves of it. In the beginning of using the clarisonic you may break out because the vibrations will loosen the pores and bring out the dirt and sebum that is so down deep. I can't really explain it off the top of my head but here is the website:

Im black and I get relaxers but since my pregnancy my hair would never stay straight?

Nkarrah

Ikno it could be the pregnancy hormones .but what can I do to make my hair stay flat and not puffy every time I Flat iron it .it gets right back puffy

Answer
When your pregnant, your hormone's changing. My SIL had pouffy & frizzy hair during her 1st, 2nd pregnancy, but by third pregnancy, her hair was silky, shiny, soft & smooth like mine. By her 4th pregnancy, her hair went back to pouffy & frizzy hair. She was so upset that happened!

FYI: Hair-straightening products are allowed to contain small concentrations of formaldehyde (0.2 percent). But several hair-straightening solutions have been found to contain well above the allowable limit. For example, one popular hair-straightening product that advertised itself as âformaldehyde-freeâ actually contained 6.8 percent to 11.8 percent formaldehyde.
Another example: Fourteen women, including two from North Texas and one from Houston, are suing Unilever, the maker of a product they claim caused permanent damage to their hair.
"It transforms frizzy, unmanageable hair into hair that's sleeker and easier to style," said the commercial for the Suave Professionals Keratin Infusion 30-Day Smoothing Kit, which is no longer being sold
When she began looking online for more information about the product, she said she found some people who said it worked, but more who said it damaged their hair.
She discovered a Facebook page devoted to angry consumers, and there are multiple postings on YouTube. I've been warning people about relaxers since 2009 and people are giving me thumbs down!
BTW: A variety of hair-straightening products used in professional salons can expose both hairdressers and their customers to formaldehyde. The results show that three professional hair-smoothing treatments labeled "formaldehyde free" can produce the cancer-causing chemical at concentrations above the occupational exposure limits set by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. They tested four products: Coppola Keratin Complex Blonde Formula, Global Keratin Juvexin Optimized Functional Keratin, La Brasiliana Escluso Keratin Treatment with Collagen, and Brazilian Blowout Acai Professional Smoothing Solution. While ChemRisk tested four popular brands of hair straighteners, THERE ARE HUNDREDS on the market. Nov. 11-11

By contrast, beauty salon owners and stylists generally lack a scientific background and don't have a keen awareness of the danger of working with products that contain formaldehyde, experts say.

Watch: Good Hair a documentary by Chris Rock 2009 on BET or HBO. According to Tyra Banks, 80% of the black population are part of the billion dollar hair industry. Clips on youtube videos, also.

Chemicals can enter the body through the skin.

What should I wear to an interview for a restaurant job (hostessing) in San Diego?

I want to wear pants but I am not sure what kind of shoes and top. I have a professional looking black top but it's short-sleeved - is that OK? As for shoes, can they be open-toed or sandals or should they only be close-toed pumps? I was at an interview last week and all the girls were wearing very high somewhat open type shoes, so I don't know. They all looked professional but casual at the same time, like bare legs (no pantyhose) and I think at least one was wearing short sleeves. I mean it's Southern California and I lived my whole life in NJ, near NYC so I am not used to this.

Answer
For any interview, you want to play it safe and look your best.

For shoes, always closed-toe for an interview. It looks more professional and put together. For anything else open-toes or sandals are fine, just not for an interview.

Short sleeves are fine, just as long as you're wearing a jacket over it. Remember, keeping it as professional as possible.

For legs, definitely wear sheer hosiery. Something skin toned will work best with the outfit. By going bare-legged, it's showing to your possible future employer that you don't take care of your appearance. Since you are out in Southern California, and it is warmer, you can go with hosiery that is of a light denier (5-10 can work here), but make sure it fits well and you don't keep pulling the pantyhose up every minute.

Hope I helped.

Why is all this happening to me?

Swagg G

Okay I'm just going to explain my life. When i was little I lived in jersey city,NJ.I found it fun there and life was greeeeeat for me.I lived with my dad, mom, and older sister and we were one big happy family.I loved my school, friends, life and family.Only thing bad in my family was that my mom HATED her boss. She was a mean lady lol.But other than that my mom loved everything else.My parents made loads of money to thr point where me and my sis could buy anything our heart desired. Then when i was 9 years old i moved to Manning,South Carolina. And everything completely changed. My mom has to get 2 jobs which she hates both of them, she is ALWAYS stressed, she gained a lot of weight, and never really has money like she used to have.My sister is 17 now and she became Sneaky, untrustworthy, lazy, ungrateful, she doesn't care about anybody but her self,Ghetto, trashy, stressfull, and there's lots of stuff I could name. She stresses my mom out soooo badly to the point where I want to cry lol.And me im only 13 and I've been stressed out since the minute we moved to this dumb place.I'm getting major acne and I always feel cranky. It seems like everyone in Manning are so 2 faced and cruel. These people go to church and talk so badly about people th minute they get out of church! They praise Jesus and then every minute they try to make someone else's life misserable. The teachers down here are so mean and so are the kids. They always make fun of people from NY and NJ and say they have terrible accents and they need to learn proper enligsh, and the people down here are the idiots saying "I AIN'T going to the Store no mo" like seroiously!? Thats not english.People always have crap to talk about my family in this county, especially my sister. My mom,my sister, and I are like the prettiest females walking in this town.Light skin and beautiful long hair is probably why they hate us! My mom says everyday my sister is going to be the death of her one day.I agree with my mom on that because my sister is the type of kid you'd wish you'd NEVER EVER have.My dad moved back to New York because he said they have better jobs there.I just think he doesn't want to live in this crazy a** town lol.A lot of girls in my school hate me especially in my class and I have no clue why! No one in this freakin town can mind their own business and news travels fast because everyone talks. For example my sister got a car for Xmas and she told 1 of her friends then the next day EVERYONE called my sister's phone and said "I heard you got a car".And it seems like my mom's dying slowly and I hate to say that but it's true :( and we can't move because she doesn't hav e enough money to afford moving anywhere. This is my sister's last year before she goes to college. And then i go to the MANNING HIGH SCHOOL.and that's the worst place to be out of all places in Manning,SC.4 years I don't think I will be able to survive.I feel like something extremely bad is going to happen in my life but i don't know what.Ughhhhhh I truely do hate my life but I thank the lord for letting me be put on this Earth. Please somebody..anybody,tell me what can I do to fix my life.School and personal life,What can I do to make it all stop?

Answer
Well, your sister got a car for "xmas", so how bad can the money be?
Everyone knows the pay sux in SC. If you want to know pay rates, all you have to do is look at the cost of the homes. The cheaper the homes are, the cheaper the pay is in that area, pretty much always.
The "law of the commuter" is that you live in a cheap town and work in an expensive one. Some people make enough to actually live in an expensive town. Some people make that much, but still choose to live in the cheaper town, cuz you get a bigger house.
The teasing will go away. People get tired of making fun of people for the same thing. I mean, if you get glasses, everyone calls you "four eyes" for about a week, but then it goes away.
This might take longer. The important thing is to not stir up any problems. Keep your mouth shut. Information you leak out can always be turned against you in a small town.
You will eventually wind up with all the boys in the town chasing you, just cuz you are new, if nothing else.
Have you talked to your dad about moving back north?

what kids of stuff can i do like vitamins to take and food to eat/ avoid.

Answer
Some things that you have to consider is where you live and what types of weather you are in. For example, I live in Colorado where it is super dry even when it is snowing, so when I wash my face more than once my face becomes just covered in dry skin. I wash my face once in the morning and once at night, and that does the trick.
But some things you can do are:

#1. Decide upon the wash you will use and keep it going. (No switching back and forth between products and/or skipping some days)

#2. When you wash your face, don't scrub it off! I like to basically give my face a nice soothing massage.

#3. Apply some type of toner and lotion after the wash. Occasionally (about once a week), try a mask.

#4. Try not to touch your face! Make it a rule and every time you find yourself touching your face, remove your hands and eventually that will just come second nature.

#5. One of the most cliche ones, but big ones, is to try to at least eliminate greasy foods and/or add good foods such as berries and fruit. This will help A LOT!

#6. When it comes to make up, use the good brands that are non comedogenic and such so they do not clog your pours.

#7. Last, maintain stress levels if possible. Go for that nightly walk, read a book, take a moment out for yourself. Sometimes acne can be triggered by stress.

I hope I helped:D

Where can I get a monkey as a pet in Minnesota?

shotgun997

I live in Minnesota and I have always wanted to get a monkey as a pet, where can I get one?
Also does anybody know how much a good pet type one would cost?

Answer
You can't. ALL monkeys are illegal as pets in MN. If you were to illegally purchase one then you would only be sentencing it to death. It would be euthanized as soon as someone found out. And trust me, when you have a monkey people gossip, so someone WOULD find out! If you really love them so much, then you won't take the chance of having one killed. Now, if you decide to move out of state where you can legally own one, please still do your homework on this. Monkeys are not what you think. I have 2 Capuchins and I have the scars all over me to prove it. They bite, scratch, slap, 'scream', pull hair, and more. EVERYDAY. In fact, last night was one of the worst incidents I've ever had with my monkeys. I was giving one of them a bath (which they hate!). Normally he does semi OK. He always scratches me, but he is pretty tolerant with me handling him. Anyways, someone came in the house when I was bathing him and he was already upset about being bathed, but then he got even more upset about someone coming in. Anyways, you would freak if you saw my arms right now. He tore the skin all over both of my arms, hands, and my chest. And 2 seconds later he's just back to hugging and kissing me. That's just normal for a monkey. You cannot get upset when they hurt you. They don't know any better. Are you tolerant enough to deal with that?

Also, you can't have them around your friends. So, if this is for some popularity, forget it now! They hate strangers. They will bite, scratch, or pull hair of any stranger who tries to touch them. Unless you are looking for a lawsuit, you can't have monkeys around strangers. Also, even something little like pulling hair is considered an attack and could cause it to be euthanized.

Monkeys are also very expensive. You won't find a Capuchin for less than $7,500. And that's cheap. However, you must have at least 2 monkeys. 1 monkey alone will be depressed. Human companionship is NOT enough. They will pace back and forth for hours at a time, scratch until their hair falls out, and inflict pain by chewing on their own limbs. You MUST have at least 2 monkeys! Also, you will need a large enclosure, which could easily cost you thousands of dollars. The minimum cage size for most states is 6x6x6, but the larger the better. It's cruel to keep them in a small area. Do you plan on diapering them? Diapers are around $11-12 dollars for a small pack. They can easily use 8 diapers (or more) a day. Diapers for the next 40+ years is not cheap. Monkeys biscuits are a must! NO HUMAN FOOD IS ALLOWED. It kills them. Monkeys get diabetes 100 times quicker than humans. Ice cream, cookies, chips, etc. will kill monkeys. Biscuits are about $25 per bag. Monkeys should be kept on Prima-treats (vitamins) which are $80-140 per package. Yeah, not cheap. Vet bills run about 8 times what a dog vet visit would cost. Most states require at least 1 annual check up. Average price is around $500 give or take some. If you monkey ever needs a surgery, you might as well take out a 2nd morgage to pay for it!

Now, I'm not against anyone owning a monkey. I just can't stand it when people get them and they are not educated enough about how to care for them. 98% of exotics die within the 1st 2 years because the owners aren't educated enough about them. Don't be one of those owners! If you REALLY want one enough that you'd be willing to move out of state, then be sure to research everything about their care, diet, housing, enrichment, behavior, and husbandry. Feel free to email me anytime with any questions you might have. I'd be more than glad to help.

Skin care routine so I can become a cute girly girl who actually cares about her appearance?

This Is Su

I'm not comfortable in my own skin at the moment, but in the summer I want to start being cute and girly by wearing dresses etc. I just want to feel confident and like I look after my body and appearance but right now I just don't have a clue!

Answer
e careful not to cleanse too often, you risk over-cleansing skin, see signs you are over cleansing your skin. You really only need to wash your face at night to remove makeup and sunscreen, which can clog pores. If you have dry skin, consider cold cream like Pond's, which the French use or make your own organic cold cream using this simple cold cream recipe. Simply apply cream, then wipe off, no water needed (if you have hard water, it can be especially harsh on skin). Most women prefer the water method: Use warm water to loosen dirt and clogged pores. Use a dime-sized bit of cleanser, then rinse with cool or lukewarm water. I personally swear by my Clarisonic Mia, as does pretty much everyone I know who has one.

Make sure to remove eye makeup with a proper makeup remover. The area around the eye is delicate so don't pull or rub too hard. You can also use olive oil as a natural eye makeup remover. Find out more in Use Olive Oil as an Eye Makeup Remover.

In the morning, a splash of lukewarm water is all you need (I find it's great for removing excess oils from your nightly moisturizing). Never wash your face with hot or cold water (both can cause broken capillaries).

A facial scrub. You can buy a great scrub or make your own. I prefer sugar scrubs to salt ones, but it's just a matter of preference. See my list of the best facial scrubs or try out a recipe using brown sugar and coconut oil in Make a Face & Body Scrub With Sugar and Oil.
A washcloth. Put a dab of cleanser and a sprinkle of white refined sugar on a damp washcloth and massage skin in a circular motion. After a quick rinse, any sign of dead skin is erased. If you have dry skin, try extra virgin coconut oil.
Microdermabrasion. You can buy microdermabrasion kits. I have and found quite a few I like. See my list of the best facial scrubs and microdermabrasion kits.
Chemical peels. In the hour it takes to get a chemical peel, you can take a year from your face. Can't afford the price tag for a monthly peel? Try some over-the-counter peels that work over the course of a month. I prefer MD Skincare's.
Retinoids. Retinoids (such as Retin-A or the more moisturizing Renova) also work by removing the top layer of dead skin cells while also generating collagen in the skin. "Collagen is the skin's structural fiber," dermatologist Dennis Gross said in O Magazine. "As we get older, it breaks down, creating lines and large pores." Skincare experts disagree on all sorts of things, but most of them consider retinoids to be a miracle skin saver. I'm addicted to Retin-A, which I pick up in Mexico on my yearly jaunts.
Should you use a toner? Some people swear by toners, but many beauty experts do not (I once read a skincare expert claim, "toners are only for copy machines"). Toners are meant to remove all remaining traces of oil, makeup and dirt, but a good cleanser should do this. I firmly believe it's up to you. If you like the way your skin feels with a toner. Buy it. Use it. Enjoy it.
Step 3: Moisturize

While I know of at least one famous beauty editor who swore skin doesn't need moisturizer, basically everyone else I've read disagrees and is an adamant believer in it. A basic rule of beauty is that if you have dry skin, you should invest in a basic moisturizer. So how much should you moisturize? Your skin will tell you. When your skin is tight, it's crying out for moisture. Be careful not to over-moisturize -- this can clog pores.
See my list of the best moisturizers on the market. For you natural girls, nothing beats a good oil for your skin. You can use extra virgin coconut oil, olive oil, sweet almond oil or jojoba oil. Learn more in Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil as Overall Body Moisturizer.

Are eye creams necessary? Well maybe. Some beauty experts strongly recommend eye creams. Why? The skin around the eye contains no fatty tissue and is therefore very thin and susceptible to wrinkles. Special eye creams are formulated to "thicken" this area. Yet other experts (including the beauty editors of Allure in their new book) claim your daily lotion works around the eyes just as well.

See my list of the best eye creams.

Step 4: Apply Sunscreen

The #1 cause of wrinkles is sun damage, so it's important to use a sunscreen of at least 30 SPF from your early years on even in winter and on cloudy days. A great trick is to purchase two moisturizers: One for night and one for day that includes UV protection. Don't use moisturizers with sunscreen at night, the ingredients are not meant to be used 27/7 and can aggravate skin. When choosing a sunscreen, make sure it contains Mexoryl (found in my favorite sunscreen La-Roche Posay) or Helioplex, found in Neutrogena products.

good luck and apply make up to;)

What is the best skin care routine?

I have a fairly clear complexion, with the odd pimple every now and then. But around my nose, its slightly red and kind of oily. I wash my face two times a day with a basic cleanser, but I was wondering which product would be better for me. I have rather sensitive skin too, and I wear make-up everyday. (I wash it off at night, of course.) Whats the best product?

Answer
The Basic 3-Step Skincare Regimen

Step 1: Cleansing Simple is key here. You need to find a good cleanser that your skin responds well to, and stick with it.

Avoid bar soaps as they tend to dry out the skin. According to Rona Berg, in her book, 'Beauty,' a French cosmetics executive once told her 'soap should only ever touch your skin from the neck down.' We agree. According to Berg, most cleansers contain oil, water and 'surfactants'. The oil dissolves oil on your face, surfactants dissolve dirt and makeup and the water washes it all away. Who knew? The secret is finding the right mix of oil. (Makes sense to us). Too much on your skin will clog pores, while too little will dry it out. This is why you need to know your skin type.

Be careful not to cleanse too often. Washing at night should do you. While some skincare experts swear you should cleanse skin with creamy cleansers that you wipe off with a tissue, never letting water touch your skin (some hard waters are especially hard on skin), we prefer the water method. In the morning, a splash of lukewarm water is all you need (we find it's great for removing excess oils from your nightly moisturizing). Never wash your face with hot or cold water (both can cause broken capillaries). Also be careful about overcleansing skin.

Here's the best way to wash your face: Use warm water to loosen dirt and clogged pores. Use a dime-sized bit of cleanser, then rinse with cool or lukewarm water. You'll also want to take off your makeup with a proper makeup remover.

Step 2: Exfoliate Exfoliation is the step most people skip in their weekly skincare routine. But trust me, if you start properly exfoliating your skin, you will notice an almost immediate difference. According to Berg, one of the reasons men's skin looks more youthful than women's is because men tend to exfoliate daily when they shave. There are several ways to exfoliate skin: Microdermabrasion, chemical peels and retinoids.

Scrubs work by removing the top layer of dead skin cells that tend to dull your complexion. We find exfoliating skin once a week with a microdermabrasion kit keeps skin glowing year-round. Make sure you use a gentle scrub with tiny grains. Big grains in cheap scrubs can tear skin and cause more harm than good. My favorite microdermabrasion kit is made by Lancome.

In the hour it takes to get a chemical peel, you can take off five years from your face. Can't afford the pricetag for a monthly peel? Try some over-the-counter peels that work over the course of a month. I prefer MD Skincare's.

Retinoids (such as Retin-A) also work by removing the top layer of dead skin cells while also generating collagen in the skin. "Collagen is the skin's structural fiber," dermatologist Dennis Gross said in the October 2005 issue of O Magazine. "As we get older, it breaks down, creating lines and large pores." Skincare experts disagree on all sorts of things, but most of them consider retinoids to be a miracle skin saver.

Should you use a toner? Some people swear by toners, but many beauty experts do not (I once read a skincare expert claim, 'toners are only for copy machines'). Toners are meant to remove all remaining traces of oil, makeup and dirt, but a good cleanser should do this. I firmly believe it's up to you. If you like the way your skin feels with a toner. Buy it. Use it. Enjoy it.

Step 3: Moisturize While I know of at least one famous beauty editor who swore skin doesn't need moisturizer, basically everyone else I've read disagrees and is an adamant believer in it. A basic law of beauty is that everyone, no matter her skin type, should moisturize. Even if your skin is oily, it will benefit from moisturizers. (The only exception is those with acne). Why? Moisturizers seal moisture into skin (Berg calls this the 'Saran Wrap effect'). So how much should you moisturize? Your skin will tell you. When your skin is tight, it's crying out for moisture. Be careful not to overmoisturize -- this can cause clogged pores. For the skinny on great moisturizers for your skin type, check out this

Is it okay to mention in the resume the beauty website I own?

shyone

My website is all about beauty and woman's health. It contains reviews of cosmetics, astro stuff and many other things that deal with women's personal development including psychology. Usually, I do not say anything about my own personal life over there. But yeah, I do mention my opinions on cosmetics stuff. Is it okay to include address of such site in the resume?

Answer
Only if you make profit on it, or it has a decent amount of followers (over 100 for sure).
If so, then you have a strong attribute to add to your resume! (:

I have little tiny blemishes and bumps on my skin, and some dry (others rough) patches here and there. How do I get the bumps flat, rid of the blemishes, and the dry patches? And make my skin visibly softer and smoother?

Answer
Regardless of sex, melanin content, age, gender, weather, mood, time, or location of acne breakouts, the treatment protocol for acne is the same.

In short, acne is caused by a combination of factors including bacteria, sebum, and dead skin cells. Bacteria feed off sebum, which produce inflammatory by-products. Sebum and dead skin cells stick together and form clogs.

When it comes to selecting your cosmetic or skin care products, you should base your selection primarily on your SKIN TYPE. There are 16 different skin types! If you are unsure of your complete skin type, then take the questionnaire developed by world-renown clinical researcher, board-certified dermatologist, and author of the book, âThe Skin Type Solutionâ, Dr. Leslie Baumann. Register first then take the quiz. Afterward, visit the specified forum that is tailored to your unique Baumann skin type for product recommendations and discussions about your skin concerns, in particular, acne.

In order to TREAT and CONTROL acne, you will need well-designed routine:

1)A well-formulated water-soluble cleanser to remove oil, dirt, dead skin cells, and makeup.
2)A well-formulated, pH-adjusted, beta-hydroxy acid exfoliant with salicylic acid in 1-2% concentration to reduce inflammation, kill bacteria, and exfoliate on top of skin and within the pore lining to unclog any plug. If you are allergic to salicylic acid (or aspirin), then your alternative can be an alpha-hydroxy acid such as glycolic acid or mandelic acid.
3)A well-formulated benzoyl peroxide medication in 2.5-10% concentration to kill acne bacteria. The lower the concentration the lower the risk of side effects including dryness, peeling, redness, stinging, etc.
4)A well-formulated, matte-finish, and lightweight sunscreen with SPF 15 or greater to protect your skin from UV-inflammation, which can exacerbate acne, as well as prevent skin cancer. It is imperative to reapply after swimming, excessive perspiration, or every 2 hours for optimal photoprotection, especially in the sun.

NOTE: a well-formulated product usually contains low fragrance or is free of fragrance and dyes.

Results can take up to a few weeks to 1-2 months with diligence, compliance, and patience. If this conservative routine is ineffective, then you should consult with a board-certified dermatologist for a topical prescription and/or in-office light/laser therapies. The last resort for acne is isotretinoin (formerly known as Accutane).

How can I get clear skin?

Jane

I'm almost 17 and I know having acne at this age is considered normal but I absolutely dread having acne! I personally think I have pretty severe acne. I have a lot of big red pimples all over my face and a dull complexion due to acne scars. Luckily I only have this acne on my face and no where else on my body. I'm really sick of my acne because it hurts and it also lowers my self esteem. I'm willing to try anything to get this acne off my face! Please tell me any great home remedies or products that really help to get rid of my acne and scars. Or if you have personal experiences with acne, please tell me what you did to get rid of it including skin care routines and products you used. Even though it can't get rid of all my acne, I would like to see my acne reduce over time using the remedies you give me. Thank you, I appreciate all answers given on this topic.

Answer
Any kind of facial wash, you're leaving something toxic behind, it's not a matter of convenience, it's a billion dollar business that can do more harm than good to your acne. And sometimes we feel entirely virtuous about our skin-care regimen because it's full of SPF-- all year round!-- and cleansers and such. But the truth is, we may not realize that we're overdoing (or underdoing) something that can lead to the very thing we're trying to avoid: dryness, breakouts, accelerated aging, New York dermatologist Dr. Jeannette Graf. (I've been giving this same advice for decades, but she's proof enough!).
Take a shower everyday, use washcloth to exfoliate and bath & body wash. Hydrogen peroxide does wonders for acne. Visit their website for more tips & other uses. ONLY $1.

Acne medication could worsen what ever allergies you have, so instead of trying out one product after another, you're actually spreading it around.
The less products you use, the better for your skin. Use a bath & body wash like Suave, Irish Spring, Dove Body & Face wash in the shower, use a washcloth. Treat your face like the rest of your body, take a shower everyday or wash your face everyday.

The secret is keeping your face clean and oil-free. I also don't use liquid on my face for anything, and very little moisturizer, not even a dime size. Since my face is not dry. Good skin also comes from your good genes. Increase your fresh fruits & vegetables 3-5 servings per day. And programmed your mind to do this day after day, for the rest of your life.

Sometimes just the oil on your face from make up and lotions, even from your hair can travel to your face causing acne to come out. Others, from stress, hormones & diet or foods.

Adam Lambert has the worst acne scars. JLo, even Demi Moore have been seen with scars on their faces during interviews. Seal, the musician, Heidi Klum's ex have you seen the scar on his face? Demi in October 2012 issue of 'People magazine, showed her freckles (acne?) on the cover and inside article photo showed she had them removed but there was a 'hole' and no makeup could fill that in. How about Jennifer Hudson 'flea beaten scars' on her legs, as if she had itched them and got infected. I had some of those when I was a kid. Anyway . . . with all their money they're making now, even beauty products can't do anything about their faces or should I say scars.
Avoid too much sun exposure, so it won't make your scars even DARKER permanently. Skin heals. So let your skin heals.

Sunscreens or lotions does not protect you from nasty, painful burns. Lotions does not protect you from skin cancer. Lotions does not protect you from skin diseases. Lotions does not protect you from discolorations - permanently. And lotions does not protect you from skin tags, freckles, moles, they will only get larger, darker, and bumpier as they are exposed from UV.

Karolina Kurkova: "I am more of a you-are-what-you eat kind of person. It's about healing from the inside out."

If acne's a problem, your pillowcases may be part of the cause. "They collect skin oil, dead skin cells, bacteria, and excess night creams," says David Bank, a professional Dermatology @ Columbia University/New York-Presbyterian Hospital. "But if nothing changed by 6 week the product will never work for you. Time to move on."

"If you have breakouts, dairy is the devil' it is inflammatory and will add hormones to your already hormone-rife system. Get calcium elsewhere, or try nonfat organic dairy products. For PMS breakouts, avoid dairy and bakery items the week before your period - sugar and flour are both causes for pimples and collagen." Dr. Jessica Wu, M.D. University of Southern California School of Medicine and author of the new book Feed Your Face.

SOMEONE WROTE TO ME the other day, ASKING IF THIS BRAND IS BETTER THAN THAT BRAND - FOUND @ DRUGSTORES THEN WROTE ME BACK & THANK ME, SHE LOOKED @ HER MOM'S SKIN AND THEY WERE GOOD, BUT SHE USES ONLY WATER TO WASH HER FACE. There you go, an update.

Lea Michele recently revealed her secret to clear skinâShe gives it room to "breathe." "Maybe I'll put on a little mascara. But other than that I try very hard to just let my skin breathe," she told people.com. "I care more about letting my skin breathe than how I look."
Another good example is Lily Collins, actor, writer, artist: "When I travel to Europe, I go days without putting anything on. It feels healthier. I just never understood the idea of caking it on. The more you have on your face, the more there is to smudge and go wrong." Glamour - Sept. 2012.

If I use black henna will it permanently alter my hair color?

Marie

I have medium brown hair with natural light brown/blondish highlights (sun really makes my hair lighter very easily). I really want to try black hair, but I dont want permanent dye. I thought henna was supposed to go away after a couple of months, but I keep reading that, especially when it's black, it's just like permanent hair dye... So, anyone care to enlighten me? :)

Answer
Yes.
Permanent black hair dye is linked to causing leukemia and lymphomas.

For years, there has been speculation among consumers and health groups that consistent use of hair color can result in an increased risk of certain types of cancer. According to Begoun, this is a real concern, but exhaustive research by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the National Cancer Institute and the National Institutes of Health has yielded no conclusive answers. Begoun says the research has been both confusing and conflicting: "In essence ⦠there is no definitive proof one way or the other." The FDA recommends that consumers weigh the risk for themselves.

Henna, for example, is a natural hair color that is incredibly drying to the hair shaft, Begoun says. And cosmetics scientists at TheBeautyBrains.com say that henna will only temporarily tint your hair. Although most so-called natural hair-color products use fewer chemicals than most drugstore hair colors, experts say that any change to natural hair color causes hair damage. Experts suggest using the gentlest formula that will yield your desired color and using it as infrequently as possible.
Herbatint & Naturetint are two permanent hair colors that use a smaller amount of hair dye chemicals in conjunction with natural ingredients. Both have fairly decent ratings at MakeupAlley.com (though each gets only a handful of reviews).

A year later the European Commission banned 22 hair dyes which put long-term users at risk of bladder cancer. < < < <â¨

The chemical is not new and is present in a number of brands of dark hair colours, acting to help adhere the dye to the hair so that it doesn't wash out. Google: Warning-- Clairol Natural Instincts dye recall

If youâre using Henna which says itâs going to turn your hair from black to blonde, then it seems like your using compound Henna, which is not 100% natural. Without getting too scientific, compound henna is when you mix the Lawson ia with a chemical like, metallic salts. The most commonly used ones are Copper, Lead acetate and Nickel. This can arguably damage your hair, leaving it dry, brittle and coarse.

Another example: ok i did my hair yesterday i DIDN'T bleach it ,but im not sure what its called but she took the color out of my hair and then dies it a blond color and my head was on fire it killed me so after that i hated my hair color so i colored it my self a darker color, it looked so ugly and it burned me again it rully hrt so after i washed it my mom checked it for me and found small spots of blood all over my top scalp like over 20 of em now im scared and don't know why its there is it from the color am i sick and something is wrong ??
