What exactly is the problem with healthcare in america?

Labels:

Dave M

I am to help contribute to a group project, my responsibility is to discuss the "status-quo" solution to the economic healthcare problem. Any suggestions as far as resources i could use, or any personal knowledge?

Answer
NOTHING that can't be fixed cheaper than 10 trillion dollars! That is what it will cost by the end of 10 years...it is set in stone. To cover 9 million more people...

And those that think health care is important ..why isn't it important for EVERYONE THEN..not just 9 million more ? WHy not EVERYONE? People cannot afford health care now cannot afford it then...and to spend 10 trillion dollars on 9 milion people is RIDICULOUS!

There is much you can do to change health care expenses...but the dems won't have any part of it. They have shut off phone and emails so you can't complain...they wont' listen...THEY HAVE AGENDAS and to HELL with everyone else!

THIS IS NOT GOVERNMENTAL RESPONSIBLITY..it is a personal one...and we are not like other nations...and it is not good enough for other nations.

This is why europe's health care is not so great..

For all types of cancers, European men have only a 47.3 percent five-year survival rate, compared to 66.3 percent survival rate for American men. The greatest disparity was in prostate cancer, which American men are 28 percent more likely to survive than European men.

European women are only 55.8 percent likely to live five years after contracting any kind of cancer, compared to 62.9 percent for American women.

In five cancers -- breast, prostate, thyroid, testicular and skin melanoma -- American survival rates are higher than 90 percent. Europeans hit a 90 percent survival rate for only one of those -- testicular cancer.

Most disturbingly, many cancers in Europe are discovered only upon the victim's death -- twice as many as in the U.S. Consequently, the European study simply excluded cancers that were first noted on the death certificate, so as not to give the U.S. too great an advantage.

There are still a lot of people on here that think this is FREE HEALTH CARE and don't realize they have to pay for this. WHAT A WAKE UP CALL when they have to pay...plus pay the high taxes. Canada alone pays over half their pay check to health care...you think health care is expensive now..wait and see what it is.

Then you get AMNESTY...in MAY of next year...yep...MILLIONS MORE TO COVER..and YOU PAY FOR IT because it is on a sliding scale fee. You can pay 10,000 dollars for the same thing someone is paying 50 bucks a month for.!

FAIR? NOPE...but the dems think so because they are too busy spending their money on things they cannot do without such as psp's cell phones etc..instead of taking care of their lives and living within a budget!

CANADA is changing their health care to allow privatized health care because their system is broke and they told BOZO NOT TO DO THIS!

Why no outrage over Harry Reid Comments?

bobby s

Why is it that, other than some republicans, no one seems to care about Harry Reid's comments about Obama's skin color and dialect in his book? Most African American people in congress and even Al Sharpton are defending Reid.

But back in 2002 when Majority Leader Trent Lott made some in insensitive comments at a birthday party, he was run out of congress.

Harry Reid comments: no big deal. Trent Lott comments: Huge deal and he loses his job.
Why the difference?

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2010/01/09/national/w110215S26.DTL

Answer
He holds the key to the health care bill and all Democrats think that if this fails so does Obama's presidency and hence the fall of Democrats like was done by Carter.

It was 16 years after Carter was elected that we got another Democratic president. They don't want to see this again. The problem seems to be the same reasons for Carter as it is for Obama... no jobs and he didn't address it, but other things instead.

They are really propping up Obama and not Reid. They have to keep this bill going and an interruption by the house leader being canned would probably mean the downfall of the health care bill as everyone will be wondering if they know what they are doing. It just brings to the front all this "back room" secret dealings on the health care bill that no one knows about... and here we have Reid that said that without anyone knowing until someone spilt the secret beans.

any tips on growing my nails out?

Labels:

Saleena

im growing out my nails but they grow so slow! and they always seem to chip :/

Answer
Growing nails comes from: your good genes, good nail care, and all the healthy foods you eat everyday from Mother Nature.
Beauty products don't make nails grow. Eating does. Babies can do that just by drinking their milk. People giving advice on YA! should list their sources.

You really are what you eat. If you're eating all the healthy foods from Mother Nature - not made by man or woman or supplements from GNC, your hair, nails, teeth, and the rest of your body will benefit too. You get all your vitamins & minerals from your diet. Your hair's fine. You're health's fine, so are your nails. Man-by man vitamins can do more harm than good. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) doesnât have to approve supplements â no agency in the United States does. Because of inadequate quality control and inspection, supplements contaminated with heavy metals, pesticides, or prescription drugs have been sold to unsuspecting consumers. And FDA rules covering manufacturing quality donât apply to the companies that supply herbs, vitamins, and other raw ingredients.
Beginning in February 2008, they experienced one symptom after another: diarrhea, joint pain, HAIR LOSS, lung problems, and fingernails and toenails that fell off. FDA has received numerous reports of harm associated with the use of these products, including stroke, liver injury, kidney failure, heart palpitations, and death. 3-15-11

Google: MSN "Vitamins Can Do More Harm Than Good."

CNN, Slate, Consumer Reports, MSN, YAHOO have posted them online for years how people spend $20 billion per year on vitamins and supplements. According to Everyday Health, here's an article that will tell you why . . . those PRODUCTS by any other name do NOT WORK. It is false advertisements.

Google: Are Supplements Good For You? About 3,350,000,000 results results (0.13 seconds)

THEN Google: Are vitamins & supplements good for you? About 230,000,000 results (0.17 seconds). Some can actually shorten your life!

If you're as healthy as a horse and ALREADY doing all that, then there is nothing more you can do.
Google: FIVE FOODS TO EAT FOR BEAUTIFUL SKIN.
Google: "Foods for Healthy Hair" -

My Hubby, my SIL and their mom ALL have the same nails and break easily and hubby and I have eaten the same foods for over 39 years. Then it's from your genes.

Get a manicure to a good salon, or do them yourself. You can protect them by using one of those plastic gloves. I use gloves often: for chores, gardening, handling papers, going outside during winter, spring & fall, and kitchen, painting, crafting, etc. That way I don't have to wash my hands often.
Gel can harm your nerves. Google gel manicure warnings. About 456,000 results (0.17 seconds). Specially bad if your nails have problem growing or chip easily.

Answer
There were totally 15 moles / black spots on my face and body before, I tried this mole remover and most of my moles were gone right now. But please pay attention, donât over use in order to avoid getting scar. Hope it works for you too.

For more information, please see the following using methods, it is very useful for unwanted moles, beauty marks, black spots.

BRAND NEW DIY MOLE VANISH WART REMOVER
10 ML Skin Care non-Laser Removal

Usage:
(1) Clean the nevus and the area around it, use a toothpick (do not use a cotton stick to tip or wipe) to mix the liquid and sediment, and then tip a little amount of the mole remover and apply it onto the middle of the nevus. The area would turn to white colour after 1 minute. Use alcohol or water to clean the mole area after 10 minutes (If you tip the amount of mole remover properly, you don't have to clean). The mole would peel off (May help with finger) in 8 to 20 days. Repeat the process again until the mole peeling off if the colour of the nevus is dark. (it is suggested applying the liquid to nevus on hands or legs first to see the results and learn to control the usage before applying the liquid to other areas of the body, DON'T TRY on FACE for the first time!)

Does anyone know anything about augmentin?

Labels:

fashionist

I HAVE A SINUS INFECTION. AND I HAVE TO TAKE 2 PILLS 2 TIMES A DAY. DOES ANYONE KNOW SIDE EFFECTS? OR ANYTHING ABOUT IT? ANY INFO WILL HELP. THANKS.

Answer
Why is Augmentin prescribed?

Augmentin is used in the treatment of lower respiratory, middle ear, sinus, skin, and urinary tract infections that are caused by certain specific bacteria. These bacteria produce a chemical enzyme called beta lactamase that makes some infections particularly difficult to treat.

Augmentin ES-600, a stronger, oral-suspension form of the drug, is prescribed for certain stubborn ear infections that previous treatment has failed to clear up in children two and under, or those attending day care.

Augmentin XR is an extended-release form of the drug used to treat pneumonia and sinus infections.

What are the possible side effects of Augmentin?
⢠Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
⢠Stop using this medication and call your doctor at once if you have diarrhea that is severe or lasts longer than 3 days.
⢠Continue using the medication and talk with your doctor if you have any of these less serious side effects:
· mild diarrhea, gas, stomach pain;
· nausea or vomiting;
· headache;
· skin rash or itching;
· white patches in your mouth or throat; or
· vaginal yeast infection (itching or discharge).
⢠Side effects other than those listed here may also occur. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome.

Special warnings about Augmentin

Augmentin and other penicillin-like medicines are generally safe; however, anyone with liver, kidney, or blood disorders is at increased risk when using Augmentin. Alternative choices may be available to your doctor.

If you have diabetes and test your urine for the presence of sugar, you should ask your doctor or pharmacist if Augmentin will interfere with the type of test you use.

Allergic reactions to Augmentin can be serious and possibly fatal. Let your doctor know about previous allergic reactions to medicines, food, or other substances before using Augmentin. If you experience a reaction, report it to your doctor immediately and seek medical treatment.

If you develop diarrhea while taking Augmentin, inform your doctor. It could be a sign of a potentially dangerous form of bowel inflammation.

Some formulations of Augmentin contain phenylalanine. If you have the hereditary disease phenylketonuria, check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking Augmentin.

Has the standard treatment for gonorrhea and syphilis changed?

The standard treatment was Penicillin- G, very large doses. Dosage depended on the stage, or length of time the person was thought to have the illness,
the age and weight of the person, stage of the illness.

Both these conditions are curable.

If untreated syphilis will kill. It causes dementia eventually. It goes into hiding,
silently destroying one's nervous system. It is easily detected by a simple blood test.

Gonorrhea is treatable. It can become systemic. It can cause serious damages to females and males. It is easily detected, and curable.
It is not uncommon for a male, single, or otherwise to come home from overseas and give his wife or girlfriend gonorrhea when they thought they were treated. It is a shame to not get treated. I am not interested in the
holier than thou hooplah. It happens.

Herpes II is not curable. It can be treated to reduce outbreaks and reduce pain. Herpes II is transmittable at all times , even when a person is not having
an outbreak they are contagious. Protection must always be used for
sexual activity, and exchange of body fluids should be avoided.
If a person has their Herpes II under control, limited outbreaks, and they
are exposed to someone with a more virulent case, they will take on the more contagious case. That was the last thing I read.

How to win this war? Prevention: Education: Care not to transmit these to someone else:Safe sex: Knowledge: Caring. He who rules others is strong,he who rules himself, rules the world. (his world) (her world). My goal is to control myself, take care of myself and not get or communcate anything like this to anyone else. If I have helped someone else with this information great.

I read a book about WWI and II nurses. The book related stories of how
truck loads of prostitutes were taken to front lines and to the troops by
the people. The troops became severely infected with syphilis and gonorrhea.
Well...I hope they were all treated. They came home, had sex, with people who had sex with people of all ages, and so forth. IF they were not treated, and if they had enough treatment.

I think the entire world should go get treated for syphilis and gonorrhea
whether they have it or not. Checked for Herpes II and HIV, taught in classes. Think it should be mandatory, all of this, all over to protect the
weak and the children. It could be done, city by city. Reduce illness and health care costs in the long run. Ounce of prevention is worth a pound of
cure.

Answer
Treatment of Gonorrhea:
Cipro® XR 500 mg a single dose, or
Levaquin® 500 mg a single dose, or
Tequin® 400 mg a single dose;

Syphilis
Syphilis is easy to cure in its early stages. A single intramuscular injection of penicillin, an antibiotic, will cure a person who has had syphilis for less than a year. For people who are allergic to penicillin, other antibiotics are available to treat syphilis
Tetracycline, erythromycin, and ceftriaxone have shown antitreponemal activity in clinical trials; however, they currently are recommended only as alternative treatment regimens in patients allergic to penicillin.

The tragedy is for those not diagnosed when they contracted the disease or were born with it, never tested. Transmission can occur to a foetus even during the latent period
The infection-causing organisms have continued to grow for years. Pockets of damage, or lesions, affects various tissues such as the bones, skin, nervous tissue, heart, and arteries. These areas are called gummas, and are very destructive.
It can result in permanent damage to the brain, nervous system, heart or large blood vessels (e.g., the aorta inflammation or an aortic aneurysm). Tertiary syphilis can affect the skin, skeletal systems, eyes, respiratory tract, and gastrointestinal tract (as well as the cardiovascular and central nervous system).

So innocent people were condemned to die. It usually surfaces in the middle years for such unfortunate patients.
I agree that all people should be checked for both.

Have you ever used skin care products from China??

Labels:

Have you ever tried a Chinese skin-care products, or What's your idea about Chinese skin-care products? Do you think some skin-care products are better than some from U.S. or Europe?

Answer
Skin care does not only rely on skin products it depends on diet and how much water you drink. A good face scrub and vitamin E cream are as good as any expensive products. Eat plenty of fruit and vegetables that contain antioxidants and drink plenty of water daily. Along with this use the face scrub and vitamin E cream Morning and night. Your skin will be great.

skin care??????????????????????????????????????????

Q. whats a really good skin care cleanser for white heads and blackheads found at a drugstore or walmart

Answer
The best things I can advise you is to use natural remedies. I found they work much better, but you can try it out for yourself if you like (they`re also just as cheap, if not more).
First, use avocado oil (virgin, cold pressed) as your moisturizer. It actually absorbs really fast, to the point that in 2 minutes it doesn't show and you can go out with it. It gives you a nice glow as is super good for your skin....known to heal sun damage, moisturize intensely, prevent sun spots, wrinkles, regenerate cells and help with large pores and acne. Apart from this, I never need anything else in my skincare routine because it also prevents my skin from becoming too oily during the day (I guess my skin feels it has enough moisture that it doesn't have to produce too much of it's own).
In case you ever get problems with acne, mangoes work really well at managing it (either eating them or making a face mask out of the pulp, and leaving it on your skin for 10 minutes).

As for blackheads, I've never tried anything, but I found a remedy that people seem to say works:
Wash your face with a paste of baking soda and water, and leave on for 2-3 minutes. Then, massage a thin layer of honey on your face, leave for 10 minutes, then rinse off with warm water.

So, that's pretty much it....if you're really devoted to long term skin care, I would suggest using natural products on your skin (like the avocado oil, and natural soaps), because most stuff on the market contains harmful chemicals and alcohol that dries skin out. From my experience, natural stuff usually works better and has more long term results.
Well, whatever you choose, good luck!

I would love to try a new skin care line that you find it really works and truly makes a difference..I'm more about the good quality..my skin is normal..I don't have any major troubles but I'd love to even ,smoothen and brighten my skin tone.

Answer
It all depends on your skin type. Skin care routines work based on the type of skin that a person has, ie. sensitive, oily, dry.
Vichy has an amazing line of skin care products. http://www.vichy.ca/
Biotherm also has a wonderful line of skin car products http://www.biotherm.ca/welcome.aspx
La Roche Possay also has great lines. http://www.laroche-posay.ca/index.aspx
Personally I have tried skin care routines from all three of these companies and I have no complaints. They have such a wide range of products that you can make an entire skin care routine based on the type of skin that you have.

I need help with my skin care routine!!!?

peachystar

ok so i need help with my skin, i have sensitive, and very fair skin. I have tried proactive but its too strong on my skin same with benzyl-peroxide and it made my whole face dry and red. What can i do to clear my skin, i drink water a lot too. What products do you suggest? Including moisturizer please!!! Im a red head so if there are any other gingers out there, help me out sista!!! ha thanks :)

Answer
I totally know what your talking about! (sensitive, fair skin) I have gone through tones of products and i finally found the routine that works; 1) I use Vichy One step cleanser for sensitive skin (this is a everyday facial cleanser, a toner, and a eye makeup remover, and it's a milk like cream so it doesn't dry out you skin!) I love Lush products, so 3 times a week i use their facial scrubs; angles on bare skin; is the one i use. This isn't necessarily; i just love the product! Finally i use the simplest moisturizer; Dial NutriSkin for sensitive skin, although during winter i switch to the Dial NutriSkin for Dry skin. And that's my routine, i hope it works for you. :) (i'm not a ginger, but i don't think it makes a difference to your skin)

Help with skin care?!?

I have combination skin my problem is which products to use (UK) I have three main problems- frequent breakouts, wrinkles appearing around my eyes and black rings under my eyes. I have used anti blemish stuff but no good for wrinkles and visa versa- any ideas!!??

BTW my diet and exercise is good- the spots are unrelated to this.

Answer
raw unpasteurized apple cider vinegar

drink 1-2 tablespoons with or without raw honey in a glass of water twice daily

steam clean your pores by heating 1 qt water, adding 2 tablespoons vinegar. drape towel over head and steam face. then pate vinegar on face with a cotton ball to remove the loosened dirt. repeat twice. then pat or spray chilled vinegar diluted with an equal part of distilled water over skin to close pores and tone the skin. do steam cleaning twice weekly

use vinegar with water daily as a toner

will clear the pimples and tone the skin..

i have been using as a toner, and i drink it as well..works great..

Pimples (impending)
Francoise writes, "As soon as I feel I'm about to have a pimple, I dab the spot (priorly cleaned), with a Q-tip dipped into organic apple cider vinegar before bedtime. I smell like salad dressing for a few minutes, but the next day it's gone. I tried it on my very skeptical and slightly vain fiance; he could not believe it when in the morning he could not find any blemish on his face! Vanity is everything!"

Skin care! Helppppppppppppp?

HelloKitty

I feel very unpleasant with my skin. I don't know what type it is. It is a bit oily over the T-zone but dry, irritating on both cheeks. I also have a lot of blackheads and closed comedones. (It used to be okay with just a few acnes but things are getting worse over the last 1 year, hic) I've been trying a lot of products, both natural and chemical but nothing works. I'm so sad and pessimistic. (as I'm going to get married next year, I don't want to wear makeup on this face :(( )
Can anyone tell me what I should do with my skin? any cures for my acne types and skin care suggestions? Thanks a billion.

Answer
Hey there,

First of all, i think you have mistakenly found your way to the tattoo section of the site, never mind, back to the question.

Are you under stress at all, i tend to find that my skin flares up when i have a full diary at work, or i have a lot of drawing to do, before a client comes in, try taking some time to read, relax or do anything which you find enjoyable.

Don't be pessimistic, that will definitely make things worse, you are getting married, and you should enjoy that day, no matter what happens! Try and relax, some herbal remedies are quite good for that, depending on where you live, I'm from the UK, i use some little herbal pills called Kalms, they usually alleviate any stress or periods of worry i have, and calm me down!

Hope this helps!

skin care problems?

I have horribly oily skin, and i have to wash my face AT LEAST 3x per day. My skin (in terms of pimples) is not THAT bad but its been a while since it's been completely pimple free. It always seems like when one is going away I get another one. Are there any creams, ointments or even vitamins that I could use, that have worked well for someone you know? I've gone on accutane 5 years ago (taking the lowest dosage 1x day) and because the sideaffects are bad I'd rather not take it but if that looks like my only option then I will do it. Anyone have some suggestions?

Answer
Zinc, Vitamins c a and e help acne.. (skin)

I would suggest any three step regime [wash, toner acne cream twice a day] and carry the stridex pads that are like 'wet ones' now on the go for a mid day wipe down -
Before bed take a hot compress to your face to draw out the oil and dirt and also use a shampoo for oily hair (Proactive makes a shampoo) but rinse/repeat -

Does anyone know of a really fast and easy way to get rid of acne? because i have a dance coming up soon and i really would like my skin to be clear. (my acne isnt too bad but its bad enough that i have to wear a LOT of concealer everyday)

Answer
Your skin is a living organ that constantly regenerates itself. The outer layer, called the epidermis, is as thin as a pencil line. It consists of a protective layer of skin cells that continually shed and give way to new cells. Below the epidermis are the dermis and hypodermis, two layers that produce the oil and collagen, that give your skin support, elasticity, and shine. Taking care of your skin might be very important for you, so before you spend money on skin products, it is important to know what type of skin you have and what kind of care it needs.

If you don't already have them, you will need to buy a cleanser, toner, moisturizer, exfoliant, cotton wool pads & a face mask. Unless you have full blown acne, products such as clean & clear, Oxy or Clearasil aren't recommended - these products are way too harsh and strip the skin, leaving it very dry and uncomfortable. Instead use natural, gently cleansing products which will remove excess oil and promote healthy, clear skin. However, never use a very rich moisturiser on oily skin! And don't use face-cleansing wipes every day in place of a cleanse-tone-moisturize routine.

Cleanse, tone and moisturize twice a day - once in the morning before you put on makeup, and once at night before you go to bed.

Cleansing - first, wash your hands so you won't be transferring bacteria to your face. Splash your skin with warm water. Apply the cleanser, and leave it for a minute or so to allow it to dissolve dirt and makeup. Then remove, either with damp cotton pads or by splashing with warm water, gently wiping until ALL the cleanser is removed. Never leave any cleanser on your face, as this encourages spots and imperfections. Dry your face gently with a clean towel.

Tone. Apply a small amount of toner to a cotton wool pad and wipe over your face. This will make sure all the cleanser is removed.
Moisturize - when the toner is dried, apply a small blob of moisturizer, gently massaging into your face.

If you haven't applied enough moisturizer and your skin still feels a little tight, then apply a bit more. If you apply too much & it feels too oily, then gently blot with some tissue.

Exfoliate - this only needs to be done twice a week. I usually remove makeup first, then gently massage the exfoliator in for half a minute, rinse, tone & moisturize.

Face Mask - use a nice, natural face mask with Kaolin once or twice a week.Always make sure your skin is squeaky clean before applying the mask. Shower or have a hot bath whilst the mask is on to make it more effective.

Skin care tips really do depend on what type of skin you have. Do you have normal, oily, combination, dry or just acne prone?

First off, you need to find a cleanser that works for your type of skin:

-Normal skin can go for gentle cleansers.
-Dry skin needs a cleanser that does not foam up. The less foam your cleanser produces the less drying it is for your skin. If you have dry skin, try a cream cleanser.
-Combination skin needs a cleanser that wont dry out the normal skin on the face but needs to be powerful enough to get rid of the oil in the oily places. Try a gel cleanser or a cream cleanser.
-Oily skin needs a foaming cleanser. It helps get rid of oil more than other cleansers.
-Acne prone skin needs a cleanser with of course, acne fighting ingredients such as benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid.

*wash your face TWICE a day. Once in the morning and once at night. Not more, not less.

I have combination skin that is acne prone: I use Neutrogena Acne cream cleanser. I concentrate washing my T-zone.

Secondly, Moisturize after you cleanse.

All skin needs a good moisturizer. Find one that works for your skin type.

I use olay daily moisturizer with spf 15. Protecting your skin from harmful sun damage is a must for healthy, glowing skin! Find a moisturizer with spf 15 or higher. Because I have oily skin around my T-zone area (forehead, nose and chin) i use a sunscreen that contains silicone which helps absorb oil from the surface of my skin so I am less oily than I am without it =)
I use Neutrogena Dry Touch Sunblock in spf 55.

Third of all, Exfoliate!

Pimples are from clogged pores. Exfoliating helps get rid of dead skin cells and leave your skin glowing, soft and smooth! I dont like the idea of exfoliating too often because it sounds harsh. I usually exfoliate once a week with a gentle scrub. Some people exfoliate twice a day! Find what works best for your skin. After you exofliate, make sure you put on some rich moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated and glowing.

Bottom line: find what works best for you.

Good luck and have fun!

Skin cleaner?

I feel like i have dirt on my skins...any product you can suggest to help by deep moisturinging or cleansing......i tried with dove, and other body wash.....Please help

Answer
I used to work in a skin care clinic. The best things you can do are: clean (dove soap is wonderful) exfoliate (use baking soda) protect(use a sunscreen every single day and be sure it has zinc oxide in it. I use vanicream that I get at www.coolibar.com) use a chemical exfoliator such as glytone. Those 4 steps are the basic care that all beautiful skin needs. I don't even use foundation anymore.

Do you have any?
doesnt matter for what

Answer
you can go to Elle.com, for must haves, or beautytips.com, or allthetipsbeauty.info, i recommend Bare Minerals along with their beginners cd that shows how to apply, lasts forever because you use less than a dime size of make-up to apply,it is a miracle must have, want to look sexy at night well it is natural and i have even gone to bed with it on, it is actually healthy for your skin. Also Bare Minerals shows you how to do a smoky, shimmery eye, and i pair it with light glossed lips, or deep red lip kit which has lipliner, lipstick and gloss and pair with a light shimmery glow to the eye, the bare mineral veil actually hides flaws and skin imperfections. Hair- I love hot rollers and condition w/ a warm coconut oil wrap when needed found online at Tropical Sensations and also is excellent for eyelashes, skin, hair and nails.Health tips, exercise and drink that water, salad at lunch and dinner pre-meal and fruits like grapefruit and apples for breakfast or pre-breakfast.

Many beauty & hair products now have LABEL INGREDIENTS and DISCLAIMERS, specially makeup, they are required to put labels so consumers are aware to watch for chemicals: DBP, TITANIUM, MERCURY, HYDROQUINONE, formaldehyde or Toluene solvent, that causes cancer or harm us. In other words, less is MORE.

Pencils & powder are your best choice, and makeup don't come cheap.

Women in the study with highest concentrations of these chemicals, called phthalates, in their bodies were more likely to have diabetes than women with lowest concentrations, the researchers said.
Phthalates are found in a variety of products, including nail polish, hair sprays, soaps and shampoos. The findings suggest that phthalates could disrupt blood sugar metabolism, said study researcher Tamarra James-Todd, of Brigham and Women's Hospital's Division of Women's Health.

Phthalates are present in certain medications and medical devices, and its possible women with diabetes have higher phthalate concentrations in their bodies due to the use of these medications or devices, James-Todd said.
James-Todd and colleagues analyzed information from 2,350 women ages 20 to 80 who took part in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, between 2001 and 2008. As part of the survey, participants underwent physical exams and provided urine samples.

Reporting Bad Reactions From Cosmetics
COSMETICS - UNAPPROVED no ingredient labels:
One color additive of particular concern is kohl. Also known as al-kahl, kajal, or surma, kohl is used in some parts of the world to enhance the appearance of the eyes, but is unapproved for cosmetic use in the United States. Kohl consists of salts of heavy metals, such as antimony and lead. It may be tempting to think that because kohl has been used traditionally as an eye cosmetic in some parts of the world, it must be safe. However, there have been reports linking the use of kohl to lead poisoning in children.*
Lead on Lipstick: According to a 2009 study conducted by the FDA, every one of 22 lipstick samples tested contained lead, ranging from 0.9 ppm to 3.06 ppm. Though the amounts are small, they can have a big impact on the long-term health of women who apply lipstick every day (and sometimes multiple times per day). The agency's weak regulations for cosmetics allow up to 20 ppm lead in cosmetic colorants, but that doesn't account for other potential sources. The Campaign for Safe Cosmetic has found that lead can be a contaminant of petroleum-based ingredients or of minerals, such as zinc oxide or titanium dioxide.

Lead and eight other metals are found in lipsticks and lip glosses commonly sold in the United States, some at levels that could raise potential health concerns, according to a new report.
Researchers measured levels of cadmium, chromium, titanium and other metals in 32 lip products purchased from drugstores and department stores in California.
They detected lead in 75 percent of the products, according to the report. Half of the samples contained lead at concentrations higher than the maximum allowed by the Food and Drug Administration in candy likely to be consumed by small children, the researchers said. 5-2-13
400 shades of lipstick contain lead. I've known this for awhile, I thought it was a prank, but on SHINE it was posted again. Google lead in lipstick. About 10,300,000 results. 2-16-12

How should a 35 year old mommy of 2 kids take care of herself..beauty and health?

Labels:

MysticMelo

I have a lot of low self esteem because I don't feel pretty no more...I don't even know how to take care of myself no more...I really hope to hear from moms that take time to care for themselves....what is it you do...how many times do you take pedicures or pamper your skin...what products you use to help you glow.
What is it you do for your hair and where do shop for good clothes that look appropriate for a 35 yr old mommy of 2 kids.
I do have a decent spending power...I sometimes wonder can I hire someone to train me to take care
of the woman in me...i have no idea how

Its funny when I was younger...just by wearing god clothes I looked good and now I feel nothing looks good on me...i have more body hair with my changing pregnancy hormoned....blotchy skin
I feel Yuckkkkk

Answer
First of all, you must know that most kids would be happy and love to have a mum who looks good and confident. They will be proud.

Starting from hair, I shampoo my scalp everyday but leave my hair from mid way down to conditioner only. I will use a hair mask prior to hair washing twice a week. As I have very long hair so hair serum is a must for me from mid way down plus leave in conditioner at hair ends (roughly about 10 cm).
Occasionally I will use volumizing hair mousse for the really big curly hair effect and will go hair salon to get my hair set nicely for special events.
I visit hair salon once every 3 months to have my hair trimmed and once every 6 months for coloring plus treatment.

Daily face cleansing routine for day and night will be gentle cleanser, non-alcohol toner, repair serum, oil-free moisturizer & sunblock with SPF 30 (for day only)
I will use gentle face scrub 3x a week after cleanser and apply different type of masks (mud / sheet / cream).
I have my collagen or Q10 facial treatment done by professional practitioner at beauty salon at least once a month.
I seldom use makeup but if I do, clear makeup primer, black eyeliner pencil, black mascara and clear lip balm are all what I usually use. Makeup remover and eye & lips makeup remover are must use if I do apply makeup.

I do pedicure and manicure at home once a week and once or twice in nails parlor per month.

I use body scrub at least 3x a week and apply body butter every time after shower. I apply hand cream very often as I wash my hands very often too and will apply foot cream on bed at night before sleeping.
I do my brazilian and under arms waxing once a month in the beauty salon when I go for facial treatment. I also use hair remover cream at home for the grown out hair.

I don't shop a lot now as comparing to before having kid but will always try to get something new for every season or special occasions just to pamper myself.
No most preferred or favorite shops for me as I usually just pop into any shops when I feel like but Accessorize is a good place for nice accessories, Aldo and Nine West have nice shoes, Levis, Miss Sixty and Fornarina have nice jeans, Mango, Zara, H&M, Bebe, Bershka and etc have pretty nice clothing at comfortable prices and as for bags, I think I will suggest Chloe, Prada, Balenciaga, Anteprima which are not so common if you would like to splurge on one.

Please remember that you are not just a beautiful woman but also a beautiful mum so brace yourself up and move forward in achieving the dream you which you were and want to be.

Health and Beauty?

Q. Ok i want to be healthy what can I do for that i already eat healthy but i want to loose weight . And for the beauty thing i dont think im pretty and no one says anything to me except sometimes the things i wear.Like when you get older in teen years you get acne and ive tried everything even proactive so what can i do about that too.

Answer
hi again,

Weight- Thats great to hear that you are eating healthy. The only way I want you to loes weight is to exersize. PLEASE dont go on a starvation diet or beceme beliemic ( throw up after meals on purpose ) im only 13 and i really dont like it when people do that. Honestly, if your over weight, exersize and try to stay away from those eating disorders because i heard that if you go on a starvation diet, you gain MORE weight! and my dads a doctor! so ive had many talks about that stuff because im a little overweight too(only like 10 or 20 LBS). but if your honestly not fat, dont even try to lose weight. Exersize, but not too much. Thats only if you are honestly not fat.

Beauty- Now, what i want you to do is honestly look in the mirror and say I'm beautiful because I'm me. Say it again and REALLY mean it. If your not feeling it, maybe try some makeup. But, as Rebecca Donaldson on Full House once said ( a show lol i love it ), the secret to make up is to make it look like your not wearing any at all. So, put some on but make sure you dont look like a raccoon lol.

Acne- ProActive is sapossed to work I guess. Try asking your doctor. Once again, my dads a doctor and he told he perscribed me a little bottle of wet pads for your face. It has this alchahol that gets rid of acne in it and you just dab it on the area where you want the acne gone and it works. You just have to put it on yourself in the morning and at night. Finish the little bottle and your ance problem is gone!

Good Luck!

Beauty, health, studying, and confindence tips?

Em gurl

So my sister is always calling me ugly and a skank but i take a bath every day and wash my hair. But she's like you never brush it but i do i just hate straightning it, it looks so unatural for me cause i have wavy hair. Then for the new year im giving up pop so i can lose a bit of weight but i want some other good tips on losing weight. Then my studying skills in school aren't very good my mom's always like why can't you be more like your sister getting straight A's, when i get an A in just Band usually then i get B and C's and i just took my midterm in science and this grade is only on its own and i got an F and i don't know how to break the news to my mom i mean i couldn't tell wether it was an F or D but i know my mom's goina be pissed and i just wanna run away from home with my one friend who says she doesn't fit in with her family anymore, also im not a very confindent person im always tripping over stuff getting caught on the edges of tables, dropping stuff and i feel very embaressed then last night my sister was making fun of how bad i am at ping pong and it made me really mad.

It would be nice if you gave me a video on some of these tips or a website.
If a video i have already seen michelle phan and bubzbeauty.

Thank you.
I do have glasses

Answer
There aren't any videos I can think of, so I'll try to give an inspiration with words :)

Beauty: No idea what you look like, so I have no pointers. Hearing you're a high-school student, I guess you might have a little acne, ones you don't really care about since you haven't mentioned. Anyways, a clear face can change your whole outer appearance, and just for the better! Go to your regular doctor to ask for a prescription for something. I got one which worked like magic. I look back at my face before, even though my pimples were not very noticeable, and I see my face change dramatically. It just looks so much better when there are no scars or bumps. Then your skin can have its natural glow, and what's better than to have a natural shine?
Also, to keep your skin beautiful, you must get rid of hairs. One word: waxing. Don't shave. It grows back worse. If you're not a hairy person, then your skin can stay smooth for a month! And if it grows back, just wax again. Beauty hurts. But after a few years, you will never have to wax again; your skin will have no unwanted hairs anymore because the roots will become too weak! :D
As for your real hair, I suggest you keep it natural. Waves are awesome. Everyone flattens their hair to death these days, and straight hair gets boring. Waves are beautiful; I bet your hair is gorgeous! Make sure to go to a barber and ask what haircuts would suit both your hair and your head-shape to get the best look you can get :)
And finally, weight loss. Cutting down on soda is one thing. Now, think about cutting down on unhealthy snacks. I'm not saying you have to live in carrots. Just not eating chips and such on a regular basis (you probably don't, but I'm just giving an example). Whatever you do, don't cut down on necessary meals! When your body goes in starvation mode, it actually stores all your calories. So you hurt yourself with hunger, and your body goes against your goals! :P

Health: You sound like you have really good hygiene. For losing weight, I suggest eating healthy, not overeating or under-eating, and specific exercises that will tone whatever body part you want to tone.

Studying: Not to brag, but I'm one of those people like your sister; school comes naturally to me. So I don't have tips for someone who doesn't think the same way as me. I suggest you actually get professional help, from your teachers or a reliable source online, that will help you figure techniques that work best for you. When in school, don't stress too much about it. Your future is not determined by one and only test, even though it seems like it. Remember that school is a place to gain knowledge so you'll have a choice of careers to choose from, be exposed to new things, and learn more skills (like problem solving). It is not a place to torture students. And yes, it does feel that way. I'm not a teacher's pet, I've had trouble with them as well. They're not doing their jobs right, these days! But they can't bring you down! Remember that the information you learn now may save you sometime in the real world. So give some time for it, be determined. But not overwhelmed. Because if I can do it, so can you. And your sister is obviously not Albert Einstein; yet she succeeds. But how fulfilling would it be when you ace everything while she crumbles down? ;)

Confidence: After you're healthy, beautiful, and intelligence, then what is missing? A good personality. And I'm pretty sure you're a good person whose being brought down by society. Your sister is a complete b*tch! She's supposed to be there for you! Instead, she tried to tear down your self-esteem. But that's probably because you are somehow higher than her. She's jealous of you. And I'm not just saying that; when siblings are evil to each other, it's from jealousy. You have every right to be confident, and you have some reasons to be as well :)

Hope I helped :)

Help! Looking for traditional Irish skin care products or recipes for such products. Any ideas?

Labels:

Tinasparkl

I have very dry, very sensitive skin. Being of Irish descent, my skins is very fair and delicate. I have tried dozens of different soap and skin care brands from Ivory to Clinique and almost everything in between. All these products seem to either dry my skin out more, give me a rash or break out my skin. It occurred to me recently that maybe I need to go a more traditional route. So, I have been searching the web for traditional Irish skin care and soaps. Unfortunately, I keep getting websites for Irish Spring.
Do any of you have suggestions for traditional Irish skin care lines or recipes for products that I can make myself?

Answer
I've found that the best things for my skin are Aloette Products. They don't contain soap and have aloe which is soothing to the skin. I love love love the Nutri-C cream! My skin is very sensitive and it's been great!

Clinique Skin Care...?

steph

Hello everyone :)

I just recently purchased Clinique's "Anti-Blemish" 3-step skincare system plus their "even better clinical dark spot corrector" and I received a small pot of the Turnaround overnight cream for free.

I was just wondering, as with all the other moisturisers Clinique has to offer, (not only the Turnaround as mentioned above), in what order you would use them.

So basically, I'm aware of how to use the three step (which obviously contains a moisturizer), but would you then go on to use the even better clinical and then ANOTHER moisturizer (Turnaround overnight creme)...? I'm so confused. It seems like so much pointless layering of products, especially using two moisturisers. If you're not supposed to use two moisturizers together, then how can you use ones like the turnaround or the moisture surge without "replacing" the moisturizer in the the 3-step cycle?

Sorry if it's all confusing! Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks xxxx

Answer
The 3-step system is carefully matched to give you the ultimate in skin care. Adding additonal moisturizers is a recipe for disaster.

Do cold showers actually help your complexion and reduce wrinkles when you are older?

Labels:

Krista B

I read in a book that this 50-year old woman took cold showers and baths her whole life, and it actually helped with her complexion. One of my friends parents, a skin-care specialist, actually recommended it. Should I start taking these cold showers everyday, or is it just a waste of time??

Answer
Genetics are the key here....not cold water. Although too warm or hot can dry or traumatize the outer-most layer of the derma (skin) and the upper layers, in the long run it will not insure the prevention of wrinkles. Cold baths and showers will not cleanse the body properly anyway....warm water activates most cleansers and moisturizers in a skin/shower product. DRINK plenty of water...that is the key. Keep hydrated....that keeps the skin and your other internal organs healthy.

What are some skin care tips?

I guess I dont really have acne,
but my skin isn't like... perfect, do you know what i mean?
like I dont have anything to horrible.
if your up close to me a i have a tiny bit of acne.

do you have any tips for skin care?

face cleaners?
moisturizers?

also i swim, so whats some tips for keeping dryness away?

Answer
i have combination skin. so it's like, oily but it dries out really easily. i use clean & clear deep action cream cleanser, and clean & clear oil-free dual action moisturizer.

that basically does the trick, but if i have a lot of blackheads i'll use a blackhead mask (again, by clean & clear) or biore pore strips.

that's what i've always done, but everyone's skin is different.

when can i tan my skin?

Labels:

Nikki

i dont get home till 4 but i was wondering if i lay out for about an hour with tanning lotion on will i see some color?

Answer
Sure, an hour is plenty long enough. If you are fair-skinned, that might be too long.

And about your tanning lotion:

Many beauty products on the market have harmful chemicals in them; do your favorite beauty products contain any of these things?:

* Mineral Oil, Paraffin & Petrolatum â Petroleum products coat the skin like plastic, clogging pores and creating a build-up of toxins, which in turn accumulate and can lead to dermatological issues, like slowing cellular development, which can cause you to show earlier signs of aging. Suspected cause of cancer & Disruptive of hormonal activity.
* Parabens â Widely used as preservatives in the cosmetic industry (including moisturizers). An estimated 13,200 cosmetic and skin care products contain parabens. Studies implicate their connection with cancer. They have hormone-disrupting qualities â mimicking estrogen â and interfere with the bodyâs endocrine system.

* Phenol carbolic acidâ Found in many lotions and skin creams. Can cause circulatory collapse, paralysis, convulsions, coma and even death from respiratory failure.

* Propylene glycol â Used as a moisturizer in cosmetics and as a carrier in fragrance oils. Shown to cause dermatitis, kidney or liver abnormalities, may inhibit skin cell growth, and is a skin irritant and sensitizer.

* Acrylamideâ Found in many hand and face creams. Linked to mammary tumors in lab research.

* Sodium laurel or lauryl sulfate (SLS), also known as sodium laureth sulfate (SLES)â Found in car washes, engine degreasers, garage floor cleaners⦠and in over 90% of personal care products! SLS breaks down the skinâs moisture barrier, easily penetrates the skin, and allows other chemicals to easily penetrate. Combined with other chemicals, SLS becomes a ânitrosamineâ, a potent class of carcinogen. It can also cause hair loss. SLES is sometimes disguised with the labeling âcomes from coconutâ or âcoconut-derived" - and is found in many popular body washes and toothpastes!

* Toluene â Poison! Danger! Harmful or fatal if swallowed! Harmful if inhaled or absorbed through the skin. Made from petroleum or coal tar, and found in most synthetic fragrances. Chronic exposure linked to anemia, lowered blood cell count, liver or kidney damage, and may affect a developing fetus. Butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) contains toluene. Other names may include benzoic and benzyl.

* Dioxaneâ Found in compounds known as PEG, Polysorbates, Laureth, ethoxylated alcohols. Common in a wide range of personal care products. The compounds are usually contaminated with high concentrations of highly volatile 1,4-dioxane, easily absorbed through the skin. Dioxaneâs carcinogenicity was first reported in 1965 and later confirmed in studies including one from the National Cancer Institute in 1978. Nasal passages and liver are the most vulnerable. Dioxane is easily removed during the manufacturing process by âvacuum strippingâ.

Warning: It is a synthetic derivative of coconut. Watch for hidden language on labels, such as âcomes from coconutâ.

IF SO, you should throw them away IMMEDIATELY and Tell ALL your friends and family!!!

Mtf trans skin softning?

hi all. i should start this by saying, yes, i am under doctors care. Anywho, im 4 months into hrt, an ive seen a lot of changes. But when will my skin become that, omg soft, like most other girls experience?? :c

Answer
Sometimes it's hard to be objective about these things. You might want to ask one of your friends what their opinion is about your skin. I tried denying it first, but the skin does get softer and drier.

edit: Here's a couple things that may help you judge:

Is it hard for you to grip things, a jar for example. Drier, less oily skin has a harder time gripping things.

Check your fingernails. With testosterone in charge they tend to act like little vacuum cleaners and collect dirt. On estrogen your nails tend to stay clean without you having to do anything. This again is because your skin is less oily and drier.

what is the best type of hair extentions towithout having to worry about them showing?

Labels:

Cassidy

I have tried clip in but they are difficult and they don't last long also is there any that you can swim in?

Answer
You don't swim with hair extensions, they are WAY TOO HEAVY and it will be too stressful, more tangled than your own hair.

I also do not recommend them, specially if you've got thin or thinning hair, trying to grow hair or Afri-Amer. They will only make your hair thinner or hair falls.

May 22, 2011: Model and businesswoman Katie Price, who was formerly topless model Jordan, is demanding compensation from a top Los Angeles hair salon after she spent $17,000 on hair colourings and extensions that she claims were botched, leaving her hair so damaged it began falling out. Celebrities typically pay anywhere from $4,000 to $11,000 for extensions.

"Hair extensions can cause some damage to your real hair," says Placid Braganza, a design artiste. "Since they are attached using thermal heat, knotting, braiding or gluing, they can hamper hair roots or even break, split or burn hair strands if not done carefully," he adds.

Published 8-10-12: Even supermodels have bad hair days, but from the looks of this recent photo, Naomi Campbell appears to be dealing with something far worse.
A photo of the 42-year-old beauty vacationing in Ibiza earlier this week shows what appears to be a receding hairline.
Florida hair surgeon Dr. Alan Bauman, who has not treated Campbell, said the former supermodel appears to be suffering from traction alopecia â hair loss due to extensions.
âExtensions, weaves, anything artificial hanging on hair â no matter whether you attach it with glue, special magnets, tape â itâs going to cause damage over time,â Bauman told ABCNews.com. âAnd unless you give your hair a break from those extensions, it wonât rebound.â

Kim Kardashain's picture reveals one of Kim's beauty secrets, as she can be seen wearing a sewn-in weave. Yes, you read right, Kim Kardashian lost so much hair, she now has to have a weave to keep a full head of hair.

But if you're thinking that a sewn-in weave would be the best choice to give you a rich, flowing mane, you'd be wrong. Experts say that a weave is very damaging to the scalp and the hair follicles, ironically leading to more hair loss.

Clip-on hair extensions give you a change of look without damaging your natural hair. "They are easy and quick to apply; usually taking five to seven minutes," says beauty expert, Sylvia Chen. "Moreover, in case you're not very comfortable, you can immediately pull them out," she adds.
Red flags: These clip-on hair extensions need to be removed before you go to bed. You cannot sleep or swim with these. So you may not want to opt for them if you're planning to wear them on a daily basis; you'd have to follow the routine of attaching them every morning and removing them before sleeping. Moreover, they may also lead to hair breakage while removing the clips; some even tend to tangle and fall apart after a few days.

Traction alopecia is hair loss that occurs as a result of continuous pulling of the hair. Pulling may occur from hairstyles such as tight cornrows, plaits or braids with or without extensions, weaves, ponytails or even hair rollers or curlers. Natural hairstyles can also lead to traction alopecia as well. Long heavy locks and tightly coiled twists can lead to traction alopecia. The hair loss associated with traction alopecia typically occurs at the frontal hairline, at the temples or the area of the scalp above the ears. It may also occur at the posterior hairline. http://search.yahoo.com/search?ei=utf-8&fr=aaplw&p=traction+alopecia+naomi+campbell

Example from YA!
"So for a long time I wanted hair extensions. After a lot of research, I decided to get hairdreams hair extensions. I have blonde curly hair that is just past shoulder length, and when I went for my consultation a few days ago I asked if I should get curly extensions. The woman said that she didn't think so, but she could perm them before I got them, but she didn't think she would need to.

I got them put in yesterday, and they straightened my hair to put them in. This morning I wet all my hair and the extension hair, because I wanted to see how it would look curly. Long story short, I have straight extensions bonded into my curly hair. I really don't like the way it looks, I tried scrunching it, I tried everything I possibly could without using heat on my hair, because my hair is really damaged and I don't like using heat on it.

I want the extensions taken out. I really don't like the way they look, I should've thought about it more before jumping right in to getting them put in. Do you think I would be able to get my money back? They were really expensive and I feel like I just wasted my money".

What skin care product/routine do you recommend?

Labels:

Kc

I am 14 and my skin is fair, not white, but pretty darn close. I have white/blackheads all over my forehead and near my eyebrows, and I occasionally get a pimple, but not very often. I do wear makeup, but it's very basic. Neutrogena Skin Clearing Foundation and Physicians Formula Blush. I don't wear concealer because, like I said, I don't usually get giant read pimples.
I'm looking for something that can preferably get rid of the things on my forehead, and I'm trying to do this without completely wiping out my wallet. If I wanted to do that, I'd just go to the dermatologist.
But anyways, I do try and stick to whatever routine I have, but I need something where I can slip up for a day and not pay for it the next day.

Thank you to anyone who tries to help
Except the people who leave stupid answers
...you know who you are
Thank you again!

Answer
I've had the same skin care routine since I was 9 years old. I'm almost 60 now, and I think I'm doing so good so far. Look @ me now!

Good skin care comes from your good genes, good skin care (see below) and all the healthy foods from Mother Nature, not made by man, not beauty products, because they are a billion dollar business, until you wash them again.

Proactive is the most advertised acne products out there. They're even getting paid celebrities to do an informercial. On the radio, they're giving them away with FREE SHIPPING and a month's supply if you call NOW.

Any kind of facial wash, you're leaving something toxic behind, it's not a matter of convenience, it's a billion dollar business that can do more harm than good to your acne.

Take a shower everyday, use washcloth to exfoliate and bath & body wash. Hydrogen peroxide does wonders for acne. Visit their website for more tips & other uses. ONLY $1.

Acne medication could worsen what ever allergies you have, so instead of trying out one product after another, you're actually spreading it around.
The less products you use, the better for your skin. Use a bath & body wash like Suave, Irish Spring, Dove Body & Face wash in the shower, use a washcloth. Treat your face like the rest of your body, take a shower everyday or wash your face everyday.

The secret is keeping your face clean and oil-free. I also don't use liquid on my face for anything, and very little moisturizer, not even a dime size. Since my face is not dry. Good skin also comes from your good genes. Increase your fresh fruits & vegetables 3-5 servings per day. And programmed your mind to do this day after day, for the rest of your life.

The beauty industry is a billion dollar business, they know acne is everyone's problem, but instead of saying soap is drying for you, they have to invent an acne product that can worsen the skin as MANY TEENAGERS have experienced during hormonal change, but as you get older those are completely a waste of time & money!

Sometimes just the oil on your face from make up and lotions, even from your hair can travel to your face causing acne to come out. Others, from stress, hormones & diet or foods.

Other skin care:

1. Staying out of the sun. If you have gotten sunburned before you're 18, you'll have dark spots or brown spots, some get freckles and those will get darker and bumpier as you get older. It's best not to make them darker or bumpy, and staying out of the sun will prevent that. Just from the heat, can make anyone flaky. I use my wide brim hat everywhere I go, and while I'm inside a car as a rider, I use blanket over the window or sit where it's shady. Lotions does not protect you from sunburn, same with cancer and could permanently discolor your skin. Lotions does not protect you from skin disease.

2. Don't go in a tanning bed. You'll aged 10-15 years faster.

3. Bathing or showering in hot water and too much chlorine can make you looking like 'dishpan hands'. Use warm water.

4. Use a washcloth when taking a shower. I use Bath & Body (Suave, Dove, Irish Spring, etc.) wash for body & face. No baths! The less you're in the water, the less you'll get wrinkles.

5. For oily skin, the less you fuss with your skin, the better. Keep your face oil-free & dry from dirt & perspiration. Blot it with a tissue or blotter, and keep them dry. Using powder foundation, blush & eyeshadow is best. Less is best, less product poisoning. Google Elizabeth Taylor when she's 16, then Google her when she's 79.

6. For your hands, wear gloves winter, spring, fall, and wear gloves for every chores you do, so you don't have to wash them often. In the garden, office, kitchen. Thank God for those! Too bad they don't have ones for feet.

7. Google: FIVE FOODS TO EAT FOR BEAUTIFUL SKIN
All the vitamins & minerals you need for good skin care comes from all the healthy foods you eat from Mother Nature.

Any good tips for skin care?

I have fairly sensitive skin, and I have been breaking out a lot lately. I have tried pretty much everything from simply washing with Dove soap to using Proactive, however, I have had no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions or know of a product that works particularly well? Any suggestions or help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Answer
I always used to have skin problems and I also tried just about everything... Some things worked better than others, but most either didn't work for long, or were simply too much effort or money. So, one day I finally decided to go see a dermatologist. The copay was about 60 dollars or something and that was the worst of it. He looked at my face, determined my skin type and what it needed, then prescribed me some medicine. I have naturally dry skin so he gave me a special prescription lotion and also a pill that I take every night. The medicine itself is only around 10 dollars! It was completely worth it... I was zit free after only a week without oily or dry skin side effects and the medicine is light and simple... nothing that messes with your hormones.

Some of the tips he gave me were to make sure I didn't go to bed with makeup on, to not put lotion on my face (lotion actually clogs your pores and causes zits to increase), and to only wash with something simple like dial soap. He told me that it's one of the biggest mistakes people make is to buy all these heavily advertised brands of soaps, lotions, etc to keep your face clean. They come with all sorts of ingredients that only hurt your face.

Dial soap, no lotion, and a cheap prescription from a one time visit to a good doctor will do the trick. Good luck, sweetie!

Light skinned black women?

Labels:

liver

I know that light skinned and mixed black women are treasures to white culture and black men. Can a dark skinned black woman ever find a black man to care for her? Also can a dark skinned black woman make it in a white dominant society? I believe light skinned and mixed women have the easiest time, they dont't have to experience racism and black men worship them.

Answer
Can a dark skinned black woman ever find a black man to care for her? Yes.

Dark skinned black women don't have it as bad as they think. Yes, there are some guys who are like "OH SHE'S TOO DARK" but believe me, one man's 'trash' is another man's treasure. I know some guys who love darker skinned women with "smooth, dark chocolate skin that shines..." etc etc.

"black men worship them" And my bro worships no human, only God.

Believe me, the light skinned black ladies I know have a hard time too. Some are overly sexualized and are supposedly "stuck up" and "cocky". And they further get classified to "red' or "yellow" bone and they have some rivalry going on in there. It's stupid.

Really, the grass always seems to be greener on the other side. But it's not, enjoy what you got. Because there's somebody who liiiikes it! :D
