I have a lot of blackheads on my nose that literally, NEVER go away. Sometimes I have some zits, but there usually not too bad. What skincare/acne treatment is best? I've tried clean and clear blackhead scrub, morning burst, and Clearasil pads (but they all are not very affective).

I am considering Neutrogena Skin ID, has anyone tried this? And is it possible to use just one of the products rather than all 3 of them?

Answer
I kind of have the same problems as you, except my blackheads arnt all that bad, you cant notice them really, but I use Neutrogena Wave. It's great. Although I'm thinking about trying Skin ID. take the test on skinid.com it asks you about your responsibility for being on top of taking care of your face. I would use all three products, at least to start. maybe after your face it basicly clear you can experiment some, but I wouldn't.

What is the best acne facial cleanser for oily skin?

Roryylove

I'm 15. I have tried almost everything. Proactiv/ Clinique/ Cetaphil/ Cera Ve doesn't work.

What has worked for you? Not only cleansers.. like does going on the pill help? exercise.?

I am thinking of trying Goclear Clarifying Cleanser or Dr. Dennis Gross skincare trifix acne clearing lotion. Any thoughts?

I also have bad bacne and acne on my shoulders. Thanks for your help!

Answer
I used to have an acne problem. I tried everything -- Proactive, Clean&Clear, Clinique, Cetaphil, etc. I also tried the pill, but it did not make it better. I only had side effects. Exercise seemed to help a little bit, but did not have extremely effective results. What finally healed it - and what I recommend - was Pronexin. It's not too expensive, and you use it once or twice per day. It's all natural. Over a period of time (I noticed results in about two weeks, but it took about two months to heal fully), your acne will go away.
Also, it helps a lot if you eat lots of fresh fruits. Apples seemed to help a lot, actually. I had one for breakfast every morning for a week and watched what happened. Then I didn't eat them for a week, and my face began breaking out again.
My advice: exercise moderately, eat plenty of fruit, and try Pronexin. it'll really help.
you can buy it at www.pronexin.com

oh, and about the shoulder/back acne, you can use pronexin there also. or you can try using this soap called lava soap, which helped a lot (but which I would not recommend for your face).

Answer
We use to buy this kind of stuff for our business, from some one in Wisconsin. I can't remember the name of the place but maybe you can do a search and found out.

My employer called me on my day off for the second time to see if I can come in is this allowed?

Q. I work at a grocery store at the health and beauty aid section where I have to stock the shelves up and make sure they're organized 3 to 4 times a week. My employer called me on my cell and house phone last saturday when I was off to come in and I did. Today she's called me again on my day off on my house and she asked if I could come in but I couldn't because I wasn't feel good.
It's not really a problem just curious. I would have gone but I was feeling sick from the day before.

Answer
She can ask and you can say no. Why do you think it is not allowed for her to ask????? But if she thinks like I do there is not a damn thing wrong with you, you just did not want to work today and that is fine too.

I'm talking more physical beauty, although the place in your life does tend to creep into your appearance (stress, health, wisdom, experience etc)
But what age do you think women are the most beautiful? In general, and in your personal opinion?

Answer
Well, I would have to say somewhere between 25-35. I like how at that age, you can tell they are really an adult. The maturity makes them seem hotter, without being too old.

It's like still having a youthful appearance, but with added maturity to me. Of course some people start to age really fast, but most still look good at 25-35.

What is the diference between american and german lines of german shepherds?

nicholask

-Is there a huge main difference?
-Is there a difference in appearance and looks?
-Which would you recommend for YOURSELF if you had to choose and why?
-random: What does "gait" mean when referring to a german shepherd?

If you can't answer all of them but some of them, I will still be grateful. Thanks you guys.

Answer
********Is there a huge main difference?

Essentially, there are 3 main lines among the German shepherd breed:

You have your American show lines, which you commonly see in Westminster shows and of course, in the AKC show ring.

And from Europe, you have the West German show lines, which are seen in the SV (the German shepherd breed specific club) show rings, and also commonly referred to as "high lines".

Then there's the German working lines. The working lines are actually split between the West German working lines and the Czech/DDR German working lines. The working lines are, for the most part, the dogs you find among the police force, the army, and working as bomb or drug detection or SAR.

If you want to talk differences regarding temperament, yes, there is a great deal of difference. American show lines, in my experience, tend to lack in working drive, and many in the show ring do not have the bomb proof nerves I favor myself.

The same goes for the German show lines. The intent is that they are a compromise between the working dog and the show dog - a line with both correct conformation and ideal working drive. Unfortunately, many dogs among the high lines do not live up to the standard, and the working drive and temperament in the majority of those dogs are not as excellent as they appear to be.

And as for the German working lines, despite their working drive and usefulness among the police and army, many will declare that they are too much "dog" to handle, and are unable to become a perfect family pet. There are others stating that the focus on working ability makes a breeder turn a blind eye to conformation faults, and thereby creating "ugly working vicious German shepherds".

However, what is important is the individual dog and breeder. A truly reputable breeder will not look to breed for extremities, and will ALWAYS breed a perfectly healthy dog with a correct, stable temperament. A great deal of health and temperament faults are a result of breeders who's practices are not reputable or responsible..

Many examples of excellent working American and German show line German shepherds can be found. A great number of American show line GSDs compete in agility and are herding instinct tested. And for the German show lines, the Kirschental dogs are a fantastic example of the working show line GSD. And all of those reputable breeders will produce German shepherds with a true, fearless, GSD temperament.

********Is there a difference in appearance and looks?

Yes, there is. American show lines mostly consist of black and tans, with a lighter bone structure. Among them, are the dogs with a sloping back, whom many may call the "ski-slope back".

The German show lines are usually a deeply pigmented black and red, with a heavier bone structure. Among them, are the dogs with a curved back, which many refer to as a "roached back" or a "banana back".

It should be noted, though, that these roaches and slopes and so called "extremes" may also be a result of the way a dog is stacked. A handler could easily present a dog in a way that over stretches or makes a GSD look overangulated, simply to appeal to the judges, when in fact, the dog has a perfectly straight back.

The German working lines are harder to characterize as far as looks, seeing that they are not bred for the conformation ring. They tend to have a straight back and sable seems to be the most common coloring, although there are many bi-colors, all blacks, black/tans, etc. among them. The East German working line are often distinguished by a blocky head and "stocky" body structure.

The show lines give the German shepherd the look we love, and the working lines give the German shepherd the working ability. It's a combination of beauty and brains that creates the breed we admire so much.

********Which would you recommend for YOURSELF if you had to choose and why?

I would personally choose a West German working line GSD, as I already own two and wouldn't trade them for the world. It is of my opinion that they exemplify the ideal German shepherd, because I personally place working ability over conformation to standards. I value their drive, their fight, their tough, die hard, in-your-face attitude they have, and their fearlessness. I value their ability to work with me in the sport of Schutzhund, and the way they keep me on my feet.

Yet, I also recognize the fact that these are not the dogs of choice for everyone. Someone who does not want a dog that's always reading to "work work work", or someone who wants a dog with the conformation to compete in the show ring may not choose this line. What's important is knowing what you want, and communicating that with a reputable breeder.

The individual dog is more important than the lines, in my honest opinion.

********random: What does "gait" mean when referring to a german shepherd?

The gait is, as already stated, not just referring to a German shepherd. However, the German shepherd may just be the most "famous" for their gait, which is to appear to be a "flying trot". When they gait, they are to have far reaching strides and have the appearance of flying (not literally, of course) across the ground.

I hope I was of help.

Can Kids Get Their Hair Permanently Straightened?

Ellla

Hi I'm at a young age below thirteen and I just wanted to ask is it okay to get your hair permenanetly straightened because i hate my hair, and i like it straight better, and I'm going to a salon in the nyc this weekend, so if u know good ones, that do ur hair amazing. and if its bad, what else can i do to make my hair straight?

Answer
Mothers have been doing that to their KIDS EVEN AS YOUNG AS GRADE SCHOOL for decades!

They're not permanent, that's $300 - $800 each time you get them done. It is a trillion dollar business, and they do not give money back guarantee for damaged hair or hair loss due to 'abuse', in this case, cancer.
Hair straighteners are known as hair relaxers, keratin treatments and hair-smoothing products. They work by breaking and reforming the chemical bonds in keratin, which is the main protein that gives shape to each hair.

Google: keratin treatment warnings. About 2,620,000 results (0.36 seconds) 6-24-12.

The FDA has previously received complaints that the products cause adverse reactions, including nervous system problems such as headaches, respiratory tract problems, nausea, chest pain, vomiting and rashes.
12-12-12

Hair-straightening products are allowed to contain small concentrations of formaldehyde (0.2 percent). But several hair-straightening solutions have been found to contain well above the allowable limit. For example, one popular hair-straightening product that advertised itself as âformaldehyde-freeâ actually contained 6.8 percent to 11.8 percent formaldehyde.
Another example: Fourteen women, including two from North Texas and one from Houston, are suing Unilever, the maker of a product they claim caused permanent damage to their hair.
"It transforms frizzy, unmanageable hair into hair that's sleeker and easier to style," said the commercial for the Suave Professionals Keratin Infusion 30-Day Smoothing Kit, which is no longer being sold
When she began looking online for more information about the product, she said she found some people who said it worked, but more who said it damaged their hair.
She discovered a Facebook page devoted to angry consumers, and there are multiple postings on YouTube. I've been warning people about relaxers since 2009 and people are giving me thumbs down!
BTW: A variety of hair-straightening products used in professional salons can expose both hairdressers and their customers to formaldehyde. The results show that three professional hair-smoothing treatments labeled "formaldehyde free" can produce the cancer-causing chemical at concentrations above the occupational exposure limits set by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. They tested four products: Coppola Keratin Complex Blonde Formula, Global Keratin Juvexin Optimized Functional Keratin, La Brasiliana Escluso Keratin Treatment with Collagen, and Brazilian Blowout Acai Professional Smoothing Solution. While ChemRisk tested four popular brands of hair straighteners, THERE ARE HUNDREDS on the market. Nov. 11-11

By contrast, beauty salon owners and stylists generally lack a scientific background and don't have a keen awareness of the danger of working with products that contain formaldehyde, experts say.

Watch: Good Hair a documentary by Chris Rock 2009 on BET or HBO. According to Tyra Banks, 80% of the black population are part of the billion dollar hair industry. Clips on youtube videos, also.

Chemicals can enter the body through the skin.

SET YOUR HAIR in plastic curlers, or use round pro brush and hair dryer on low heat.

What are the best ways to deal with foot infection?

Serious

A friend of mine hurt his toe. He has diabetes, and the toe is not healing. He hurt another toe and had to have it cut off because it got gangrenous.

The doctor is giving him ointment, which is not working. What are his other options?

I've already tried to read about it, and I've discovered tissue salts, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and alkaline water. I'd like more suggestions along these lines.

Answer
Plain ole' Honey is last resort for diabetic sores.Jennifer Eddy says honey therapy can save diabetics from amputations cures diabetic ulcer wounds.

Spreading honey on a diabetic ulcer could prevent the need to amputate an infected foot, researchers say.

A doctor at the University of Wisconsin who helped about half a dozen of her diabetic patients avoid amputation has launched a controlled trial to promote the widespread use of honey therapy.

Diabetic patients usually have poor circulation and decreased resistance to fight infection and ulcers developed, become hard to treat. So, as a result the wounds develop rapidly, to prevent further development they have to amputate the affected portions. On an average an amputation is performed every 30 seconds in the world because of this problem.

Dr. Jennifer Eddy, a professor at the Universityâs School of Medicine and Public Health tested this theory whether honey helped diabetic patients and prevents amputations and found some interesting results. The therapy involved by applying a thick layer of honey on the wound after dead skin and bacteria were removed. This bacteria have become more resistant to normal antibiotics rendering them ineffective and amputation is the only means to prevent further its growth. The honey on the other hand kills bacteria because it is acidic in nature.

Dr. Eddy said this study will be verified with further controlled trials and experiments and if they find the same results, it will be a significant and can help prevent many amputations across the world. It is also available in plenty in nature, so anyone can use it without the worry of high costs in treating these diabetic ulcers.

"If we can prove that honey promotes healing in diabetic ulcers, we can offer new hopes for many patients, not to mention the cost benefit, and the issue of bacterial resistance. The possibilities are tremendous."

In New Zealand, Honey therapy is already used to treat bed sores and is also being using as an alternative medicine in Europe, but in the US, it is not being used widely for health care purposes.

Prof. Eddy tested this idea after she heard this in her medical school from a professor, who commented that honey worked better compared to other ancient remedies in a laboratory situation.

Dr. Eddy wouldnât have used honey, but she had to as a last resort to cure a 79 year old diabetic patient, who was close to amputation and didnât respond to standard medications and treatments. He was almost at the verge of death, so she started applying honey therapy for him and his wounds rapidly healed after.

She is going to do more trials and said the results will be published in 2008 or 2009.

It is great news, because many diabetic patients develop these wounds quickly, so instead of amputation, they will definitely welcome such natural remedies. Hope she confirms it with the trials and if so they should give her a Nobel Prize along with her Professor for developing this remedy for diabetic ulcers.

Good luck

Answer
ALL that will damage your hair, AND the formaldehyde in the relaxers can cause cancer. The sew in if you have it in too long can make your hair thinNER. So that will be triple risks you're taking.

The hair industry is a billion dollar business, they sell products that cleans & condition the hair. They also sell products that damage and causes hair loss. They also DO NOT give money back guarantee for damaged hair or hair loss due to 'abuse'. Mechanical, chemical, or thermal styling. Hair straighteners and relaxers top the hair products pose the greatest risks. Hair relaxers, related products marketed heavily to African-American women, are dangerous because they may contain powerful chemicals such as lye, a toxic substance also used in drain cleaners.

Reps for the company swear itâs all a misunderstanding. And the product labels itself âno formaldehydeâ and âformaldehyde free.â The company has until September 12 to get its affairs in order, or risk having its product seized by the FDA. âWe have been tested countless times by OSHA,â the companyâs CEO Mike Brady told NPR. âAnd we have never exceeded a safety standard ever.â Right now, they are fighting with the FDA, but will continue to give what customers want,. Answer
FOR LONG/OVAL FACE:

You want to cancel out narrowness with tousled curls, lush waves, and dense bangs," says Garren a master hairstylist. A good rule to go by: "The fuller the hair, the fuller the face will seem."

Celebrities with oval face shapes:  Jennifer Aniston | Cameron Diaz | Mariah Carey | Cindy Crawford | Jewel | Heather Locklear | Sharon Stone | Uma Thurman | Julia Roberts | Courtney Cox Arquette | Elle MacPherson | Tyra Banks

Google them and see if you can find how they cut & style their hair, so you have an idea.

Your hair is envy from us stick straight haired girls! If you know how to care for your hair type, you won't have this problem. Melina Kanakaredes, Keri Russell are examples who has hair like yours and they've got beautiful wavy hair. Google them.
Shampoo. Condition. Towel dry, scrunch with gel like Samy, or hand lotion, blow-dry using a diffuser briefly, tousle the hair, finger comb, shake your head & you're good to go. If you don't have a diffuser, use a blow heat dryer on low for 5 mins. Give it a final rinse with carbonated or sparkling water. Sparkling water reduces frizz because of its low pH level. This is a good treatment if you often let your curls air-dry because it will help to eliminate the frizz caused by humidity.
When you wake up, instead of shampooing again, keep a bottled water filled with water/conditioner and spray on your hair. Scrunch, finger comb and you're good to go! Hi, i have THIN hair, and i know that gnc sells a lot of pills that are good for your hair, nails, skin but the problem is that it contains gelatin. i can eat gelatin but it can only be fish, or vegetable...

so does anybody know any "kosher"? pills that work for all 3 (hair/skin/nails)

Answer
Beauty products don't make nails grow.

You really are what you eat. If you're eating all the healthy foods from Mother Nature - not made by man or woman or supplements from GNC, your hair, nails, teeth, and the rest of your body will benefit too. You get all your vitamins & minerals from your diet.

Save your money instead of buying hair growth products or supplements. Vogue Dec. 2010, Vogue Feb. 2011 issue has a section on biotin, supplements, fish oil, etc. . Fish oil for example: Read the labels if they state that it contains: "one or more of the following: Cod, English Whiting, Shark."

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) doesnât have to approve supplements â no agency in the United States does. Because of inadequate quality control and inspection, supplements contaminated with heavy metals, pesticides, or prescription drugs have been sold to unsuspecting consumers. And FDA rules covering manufacturing quality donât apply to the companies that supply herbs, vitamins, and other raw ingredients.
Beginning in February 2008, they experienced one symptom after another: diarrhea, joint pain, HAIR LOSS, lung problems, and fingernails and toenails that fell off. FDA has received numerous reports of harm associated with the use of these products, including stroke, liver injury, kidney failure, heart palpitations, and death. 3-15-11

If you're eating healthy foods from Mother Nature, your nails, hair, skin, body WILL BENEFIT more than man-made products.

Google: MSN "Vitamins Can Do More Harm Than Good." Google: FIVE FOODS TO EAT FOR BEAUTIFUL SKIN
All the vitamins & minerals you need for good skin care comes from all the healthy foods you eat from Mother Nature.

According Dr. Melissa Piliang, a dermatologist at the Cleveland Clinic. Americans spent an estimated $176 million on hair loss products last year, and chances are some of that money was not well spent. Donât let charming salon owners, seductive ads or fancy gimmicks convince you otherwise.

CNN, Slate, Consumer Reports, MSN, YAHOO have posted them online for years how people spend $20 billion per year on vitamins and supplements.  According to Everyday Health, here's an article that will tell you why . . . those PRODUCTS by any other name do NOT WORK.  It is false advertisements. Best advice from Hollywood's well known hairstylist in the 80's once said: "Keep foods in your mouth and hair products on your hair."

If you've straightened your hair in the past, it may grow slowly or none at all.
Google: "Foods for Healthy Hair" - Your hair may be the fastest-growing tissue in the body but, unlike the skin, it cannot repair itself. That is why getting the right balance of vitamins and proteins is imperative. Don't expect to look like you've stepped out of a hair commercial the day after you've changed your diet. It is likely to take at least three months before you actually see tangible results.

Growing healthy hair doesn't come from a bottle or pills and hair products do not speed hair growth. Any hair oil, is another form to keep hair moisturized, nothing more. If you're in HS, your hair & nails should be growing normally, and as healthily as possible, since you're eating healthy foods. But when hair isn't growing as fast, it's because they've been tampered with: chemicals, hair straightening, etc. . .

How often should you dye hairpieces?

R

Hi, I have a human clip in hairpiece that I dyed about a month ago. I have natural red hair, so it's hard to match my color. The piece is starting to look strawberry blonde and not like red hair (there's a difference!). I know that hair color fades slower on hairpieces because you dont wash them as often as real hair, but I was just wondering how often I should dye it. I paid A LOT for these so I dont want to dye them TOO often, because I want them to last as long as possible. Also, it costs around $70 to dye them and Im a broke college student so I can't afford that too often either. Any help you could offer would be great!!

Answer
ONCE or never is best!
First of all, your hair extensions or wigs do NOT HAVE LIFE, meaning it's not attached to a living thing, person, or animal.

Wigs from synthetic or real hair, are like hair accessories. They can not be damaged, by using heating tools or chemicals. If they do, you'll need to BUY A NEW ON.

Your hair extensions, or wigs can not be repaired like clothes or go back like the real hair on your head.

Example from Jennifer Aniston: "It was about 100 percent humidity, so the frizz factor was through the roof. I brought along Living Proof products with a healthy skepticism. I wore a half-wig on this film, and the girl who was washing the hairpiece wasnât using my shampoo. So we would go outside and the rest of my hair would be totally tame and perfect, and the top [wig] part â which I called my toupee âwould just start to look like pubic hair. It would take on a whole new texture of its own.â

She (the model with hair loss) paid a tons MORE money than your hair. I
do not recommend them, specially if you've got thin or thinning hair, trying to grow hair or Afri-Amer. They will only make your hair thinner or hair falls.

May 22, 2011: Model and businesswoman Katie Price, who was formerly topless model Jordan, is demanding compensation from a top Los Angeles hair salon after she spent $17,000 on hair colourings and extensions that she claims were botched, leaving her hair so damaged it began falling out.

"Hair extensions can cause some damage to your real hair," says Placid Braganza, a design artiste. "Since they are attached using thermal heat, knotting, braiding or gluing, they can hamper hair roots or even break, split or burn hair strands if not done carefully," he adds.

Published 8-10-12: Even supermodels have bad hair days, but from the looks of this recent photo, Naomi Campbell appears to be dealing with something far worse.
A photo of the 42-year-old beauty vacationing in Ibiza earlier this week shows what appears to be a receding hairline.
Florida hair surgeon Dr. Alan Bauman, who has not treated Campbell, said the former supermodel appears to be suffering from traction alopecia â hair loss due to extensions.
âExtensions, weaves, anything artificial hanging on hair â no matter whether you attach it with glue, special magnets, tape â itâs going to cause damage over time,â Bauman told ABCNews.com. âAnd unless you give your hair a break from those extensions, it wonât rebound.â

Clip-on hair extensions give you a change of look without damaging your natural hair. "They are easy and quick to apply; usually taking five to seven minutes," says beauty expert, Sylvia Chen. "Moreover, in case you're not very comfortable, you can immediately pull them out," she adds.
Red flags: These clip-on hair extensions need to be removed before you go to bed. You cannot sleep or swim with these. So you may not want to opt for them if you're planning to wear them on a daily basis; you'd have to follow the routine of attaching them every morning and removing them before sleeping. Moreover, they may also lead to hair breakage while removing the clips; some even tend to tangle and fall apart after a few days.

Traction alopecia is hair loss that occurs as a result of continuous pulling of the hair. Pulling may occur from hairstyles such as tight cornrows, plaits or braids with or without extensions, weaves, ponytails or even hair rollers or curlers. Natural hairstyles can also lead to traction alopecia as well. Long heavy locks and tightly coiled twists can lead to traction alopecia. The hair loss associated with traction alopecia typically occurs at the frontal hairline, at the temples or the area of the scalp above the ears. It may also occur at the posterior hairline. http://search.yahoo.com/search?ei=utf-8&fr=aaplw&p=traction+alopecia+naomi+campbell

I have little tiny bumps on my upper arms on the sides, sometimes the bumps dry out. Are there any ways to make them less noticable or curing it?

Answer
Hi, here is what you have:
Keratosis pilaris is a harmless skin disorder that causes small, acne-like bumps. Although it isn't serious, keratosis pilaris can be frustrating because it's difficult to treat.

"Keratosis pilaris results from a buildup of protein called keratin in the openings of hair follicles in the skin. This produces small, rough patches, usually on the arms and thighs. Though quite common with young children, keratosis pilaris can occur at any age.

Many people are bothered by the goose flesh appearance of keratosis pilaris, but it doesn't have long-term health implications and occurs in otherwise healthy people."
from: Mayoclinic.com

Here are some treatment options for it:

Sometimes Keratosis pilaris clears up on its own, sometimes not, so the products on the website above are good options. Good luck!

Long story short: I looked in the mirror the other day and thought "Dad?". Yeah. I'm getting older.
I would love to hear some tips for skin care that's ingested. Food, drink and supplements, etc.
One thing I don't require is topical skin care tips. I have my lotion and sunblock that I apply daily. I'm good with that.

Answer
Take Cod Liver OIl Tablets & Vitamin E Tablets daily.
Eat lots of veggies and fruits for essential vitamins.
Drink a glass of warm water with lemon juice squeezed in it once a day to detox
No fizzy drinks/processed foods. Eat lots of fish & pulses like lentils.
Work out daily, even if its a walk or lifting some weights for a few mins.
Try making your own 'super juices' with veggies and fruit juices mixed up. Try aloe vera juice shots.
Use natural products on your face such as sweet almond oil, or coconut oil. If youve got spots of blemishes use tea tree oil.
Drink green tea daily - as many cups as poss. (6cups per day is recommended).

Has the standard treatment for gonorrhea and syphilis changed?

Labels:

serious skin care xr image

The standard treatment was Penicillin- G, very large doses. Dosage depended on the stage, or length of time the person was thought to have the illness,
the age and weight of the person, stage of the illness.

Both these conditions are curable.

If untreated syphilis will kill. It causes dementia eventually. It goes into hiding,
silently destroying one's nervous system. It is easily detected by a simple blood test.

Gonorrhea is treatable. It can become systemic. It can cause serious damages to females and males. It is easily detected, and curable.
It is not uncommon for a male, single, or otherwise to come home from overseas and give his wife or girlfriend gonorrhea when they thought they were treated. It is a shame to not get treated. I am not interested in the
holier than thou hooplah. It happens.

Herpes II is not curable. It can be treated to reduce outbreaks and reduce pain. Herpes II is transmittable at all times , even when a person is not having
an outbreak they are contagious. Protection must always be used for
sexual activity, and exchange of body fluids should be avoided.
If a person has their Herpes II under control, limited outbreaks, and they
are exposed to someone with a more virulent case, they will take on the more contagious case. That was the last thing I read.

How to win this war? Prevention: Education: Care not to transmit these to someone else:Safe sex: Knowledge: Caring. He who rules others is strong,he who rules himself, rules the world. (his world) (her world). My goal is to control myself, take care of myself and not get or communcate anything like this to anyone else. If I have helped someone else with this information great.

I read a book about WWI and II nurses. The book related stories of how
truck loads of prostitutes were taken to front lines and to the troops by
the people. The troops became severely infected with syphilis and gonorrhea.
Well...I hope they were all treated. They came home, had sex, with people who had sex with people of all ages, and so forth. IF they were not treated, and if they had enough treatment.

I think the entire world should go get treated for syphilis and gonorrhea
whether they have it or not. Checked for Herpes II and HIV, taught in classes. Think it should be mandatory, all of this, all over to protect the
weak and the children. It could be done, city by city. Reduce illness and health care costs in the long run. Ounce of prevention is worth a pound of
cure.

Answer
Treatment of Gonorrhea:
Cipro® XR 500 mg a single dose, or
Levaquin® 500 mg a single dose, or
Tequin® 400 mg a single dose;

Syphilis
Syphilis is easy to cure in its early stages. A single intramuscular injection of penicillin, an antibiotic, will cure a person who has had syphilis for less than a year. For people who are allergic to penicillin, other antibiotics are available to treat syphilis
Tetracycline, erythromycin, and ceftriaxone have shown antitreponemal activity in clinical trials; however, they currently are recommended only as alternative treatment regimens in patients allergic to penicillin.

The tragedy is for those not diagnosed when they contracted the disease or were born with it, never tested. Transmission can occur to a foetus even during the latent period
The infection-causing organisms have continued to grow for years. Pockets of damage, or lesions, affects various tissues such as the bones, skin, nervous tissue, heart, and arteries. These areas are called gummas, and are very destructive.
It can result in permanent damage to the brain, nervous system, heart or large blood vessels (e.g., the aorta inflammation or an aortic aneurysm). Tertiary syphilis can affect the skin, skeletal systems, eyes, respiratory tract, and gastrointestinal tract (as well as the cardiovascular and central nervous system).

So innocent people were condemned to die. It usually surfaces in the middle years for such unfortunate patients.
I agree that all people should be checked for both.

perfect health and beauty 4 all image

herfern22

I am a artist/student without much money, and so I can't go the professional route. Naturally, I have light brown/ honey blonde hair, but I have had it professionally and unprofessionally lightened and darkened many times over the past few years. It is now medium to dark blonde. It is already mildly damaged. I would like it to be platinum. Any suggestions? Colorwise? Healthwise?

Answer
Hey Lady,
I just went way blond. I Started with slightly damaged brown and black hair, and now my hair is a whitish lemon and quite manageable and healthy. I processed it 4 times (on the cheap) in a period of 1.5 months using Clairol 7th stage powder bleach with the 7th stage double drabbing activator and 40 volume developer. If your hair is already a bit blond, I'd recommend a 20 or 30 (at the highest) developer.
The Secret Recipe (per process)
3 packets Clairol 7th stage lightning powdered bleach ($.99 ea, at beauty supply stores);
1 bottle Clairol 7th stage double drabbing (MUST BE DOUBLE DRABBING TO ACHIEVE WHITE BLONDIE) activator (around $4);
20 or 30 volume developer (a 5 oz bottle costs around $2.50 and you will need about 4 oz. per process)(always have a few extra oz on hand)

Mix those items into a consistency similar to that of ketchup. To stop the burn you can add 1 (ONLY ONE< MORE WILL WRECK THE FORMULA) packet of Sweet n Low. No one knows why it works but it does. They also sell a product for that purpose at beauty supply store for around $0.55. You can pretty much apply the bleach whatever way works for you, though try to avoid too much skin contact, apply to the back of your head first, and NEVER EVER use a scrubbbing or scratching motion when trying to achieve all over coverage.

THE SECRET TO PERFECT ALL OVER BLONDE:
After applying the bleach, work about 2 oz of left over toner into your hair to keep it moist. IF THE BLEACH DRYS OR COMES INTO CONTACT WITH WATER THE BLEACHING ACTION WILL STOP AND YOU WILL BE LEFT WITH TOXIC MUSH FOR HAIR.

Rinse with cold water after about 45 min. to one hour, shampoo with about half the amount of shampoo you usually use, and condition with a reconstructing conditioner (EVEN IF YOU ARE GOING TO PROCESS AGAIN, DO THIS STEP AND BLOW DRY YOUR HAIR ON LOW HEAT, HIGH AIR UNTILL BONE DRY.)

YOU WILL EXPERIENCE SOME BREAKAGE. DOn't panic, just routinely rince your hair with apple cider vinegar. To also preserve the health of your hair adn make it more manageble, work a small amount of your daily conditioner into hair before styling.

good luck.

Any recommendations of a good European tour?

chulo's mo

I'd like to take my 59 year old father to visit Europe next May and July. He has never been to Europe before and I would like to take him on a grand tour. One that covers Spain, France, Italy ect. He's in great shape so I'm sure he could handle a 3 to 4 week tour. Can anybody recommend a company? Or share some expeiences? Thanks!
I'm a law student and have finals in late April and early May. The tour would have to begin no earlier than mid May. I'm hopeing to plan this for 2008

Answer
I'm afraid 3 to 4 weeks is not sufficient time to cover some of the major sites and places of interest in Europe, even with a limited itinerary.
One other factor is what things will both interest you.
Assuming you come from the States, Spain or France can be your starting points.
Respectively, two days in Madrid will just about cover Prado Museum (a must) and a tour of the city.
Two days in Barcelona (visit Los Carracoles-memorable) city tour and rest, then one day more in Granada (Alhambra), one day in Seville.Spent a night by the river and the bars and restaurants there.Spain, with the between traveling is just about a week and a half.
France is the city most admired by Americans and they are quite right. A full week is enough to savor the colour and beauty of it and any other city you care to visit. Problem with English though, few people will decide to speak it.
A journey memorable, especially if the weather is good, is from Paris to Milan by train through Switzerland. Arrange for day passage on the Swiss segment. I did it three times and each one was better than the previous. A couple of days in MIlan are more than enough, then on to Rome and Naples. On to Venice for a day or two and the ferry from there to Patras Greece. Two day journey and about three hours drive to Athens. Two to three days will cover enough sightseeing and possibly a small cruise to nearby islands. The next place of visit is Vienna Austria, also of two to three days stay and then Praque in Czech Republic. May is the perfect time for it. Two to three days. If you have Jewish interests then Poland is a must and is a couple days stay. Last but no least, is Amsterdam in the Netherlands , two more days?
I left England out since you did not suggested it, but certainly a must in a European visit. Main places of interest at least three days. If you have some Irish in you, then the green island of St Patric waits for you.
I wish I was going with you, but although I am your fathers age, health problems are a major drawback. I hope you enjoy your trip which ever wat you plan it and that it can be memorable to you and your father.

Why are so many foods carcinagenic?

Brianna

Sugar, fries, fried vegetables, stevia, orange skin, aspartame, saccharin, meat, carrageenan, and many more. I'm doing my best to be healthy but I keep messing up. I eat a lot of sugar, high fructose corn syrup and gmo soy. I can't find foods to eat. I know fruits and vegetables but what if orange skin isn't the only thing that's carcinogenic. Why are there insects in food. I sometimes feel like there is nothing at all i can eat. I am vegan so I eat more veggies than most people. I was in the hospital last year and I'm terrified that I'll get cancer and need to go back. And there are those terrible statistics saying 1/3 of people will get cancer in there lifetime. I don't know what to do. I dye my hair but use only ppd and ppd derivatives free resorcinol free vegan cruelty free hair dye. I'm 13 so no one else my age seems to care about this. I just feel like I can't eat anything without something bad in it. I can't just eat fruits, veggies, nuts, and beans because at my age it's basically impossible to ever eat somewhere with friends like that. How can I avoid all of these foods
It's the dye on orange skins that's bad. And being in the hospital was a year ago due to a neck injury unrelated to my diet.

Answer
I am 60 years old and don't care about it either.
Whats the point?
What ever is considered carcinogenic today will have health benefits tomorrow when more tests are done.
Eat as healthy as you can.
You know, worrying so much about this stuff isn't healthy either.

I'm being serious don't say stuff like "Put a bucket load of frog sliem on your face and wait til it dries then wash it off" that's really not helpful i need serious answers things like:
Spot remedies
Applying natural make-up (for olive skin)
what time to get beauty sleep
how to get perfect skin etc
Thanks

Answer
Cleanse and moisturize twice a day (no more than this).
Use products tailored to your skin eg. for oily skin or dry skin etc.
Exfoliate twice a week either with an exfoliating sponge and normal cleanser or with actual exfoliating cream.
Use a mask once a week (this might aggravate your skin the first time but with continued use it will do wonders, especially if you use pure clay).
Personally I think all natural products are amazing and deliver results. Depending on where your from try your local health food store they most likely stock natural products or if your in Australia try perfect potion.
For spots try tea tree oil. It works!
Whatever you do dont fall pray to proactive/harsh chemically based products they deliver short term only and are expensive.
Depending how much coverage you want with make up try mineral make up or tinted moisturizer or clinique foundation.
For a 14 year old I think foundation and eyeliner/mascara is plenty.
You should try to get 8 - 9 hours sleep.
The best thing for clear skin is plenty of water and a good diet.

The best regime is going to be different for everyone obviously but this is what works for me :)

How can I convince my mum to let me be vegan?

Nahtaliee

I would generally be buying the majority of my own food (I'm 16 and have a part time job). I guess I would learn how to cook it to, but she thinks it's bad for your health and stuff. Is it really bad?

Also, what are some tips for when you first turn vegan? Thanks :)

Answer
the best way to convince your mother is to be well educated about the subject, learn as much as you can and bombard her information such as complete proteins from vegetables (if you don't know what are the types of essential amino acids that humans need you have a lot of work to do), read up on nutrition and what are the essential vitamins and minerals that you can get from plants, you should also need to inform your mother that your lifestyle is going to be much better than your previous lifestyle. its like going to a board room meeting with all the top executives and you need to convince the executives (this case your mum) that the product you're about to market (being a vegan) is better than the previous one (being an omnivore). you also need to keep in mind that she's your mother and all she cares about is your well being and bringing you up to her healthy daughter, ergo you need to give her a talk that will convice her that your vegan lifestyle is healthy and it has a lot of benefits. you have to tell her that youre going to be a vegan for 3 months (after that you'll have enough proof that this is not just a fad and youre accustomed to the lifestyle and will never come back to eating meat). Being a vegan also carries a deep moral and ethical attachment, you need to prove yourself by being well informed, well read and well fed. and if youre not a vegetarian yet, i highly advised to tackle a gradual progression, which means you need to be better at it every day like knowing what to eat, what not to eat, whats good, complex carbs, simple carbs, complete proteins, incomplete proteins, dha, epa. theres a lot of work to do in your part to be a vegan, its not just a diet, its a lifestyle, its a way of life.

TIPS: I started as a vegetarian (no meat no eggs no milk but i wasnt well informed enough to know everything i was 14, i didnt know what gelatin was after a month of gradual progression i knew almost everything there was to know about being a vegan) most important tip gradually take out foods out of your diet (diet means youre eating habits, what you put in your mouth) so that you wont relapse because youre going to crave your old favourite foods since your body havent adjusted to the vegan regime, once youre finally comfortable of being a vegetarian (3 months of no meat should be your gauge, unless you are pesto-veg) you will start to crave for vegetarian foods which is great. then its time to up the ante, go vegan after that but during your vegetarian phase you should read up on what NOT to eat (gelatin, glycerine, milk, eggs, made from a factory that manufactures milk/eggs,meat products) learn how to read nutrition labels, learn what products are vegan approved and was not tested on animals, remember wearing leather is just as foul as eating meat (ripping an animals skin is not better than cutting it nor eating it)

RECAP: 1. Take a gradual progression approach (3 months vegetarian/taking meat out of your diet)
2. Be well informed (start with goveg.org)
3. Be morally and ethically aware on whats going on (peta.org)
4. Being a vegan is not just the way you eat, its a lifestyle, its a way of life
5. Keep learning new things about veganism everyday, the beauty about life is you cannot out evolve your lifespan, there are enough levels to move up. Dont stop and say "i have arrived now", take that mentally off and be humble because you will learn new things about the lifestyle everyday or atleast execute it well enough
6. Personal resolve, youre incharge and youre having an impact wether its one of your priorities or not, youre saving the planet, you reduce greenhouse gasses, youre ethical and moral standards should be at par with your ideoligies as a vegan
7 HAVE FUN, if youre not having fun and youre not happy about it, that means youre not doing it right and its not for you

Hi can someone please tell me if I buy small amount of skin care products from India and ship it to Malaysia, will I be taxed. I s there any tariffs? What are the procedures? Can I just buy and ship it over? Can someone please let me know how it's being done? Where can I get more information about this matter?

Answer
Hello, Mr//Miss/Madam:

Before you proceed with importing any goods or items from overseas, please call a forwarding agent or shipping agent and ask them what is the tariff code for skin care products. Also ask them what is the import duty and any sales tax? Before you import the goods, whether small amount or large amount, you need to take along samples go to Pharmacy Section at the Health Ministry situated at Jalan University ( Opposite Islamic International University). Submit your samples for approval. Ask the pharmacy department whether you can do online application for the approval for the product. Once you get the approval, then you contact the shipper in India to let you know the CIF ( Cost+Insurance+Freight) Charges. The cost depends whether you want to be imported by courier, Air Freight or Ocean freight. Is this small amount of skin care product for your personal use or you planning to import and resell? If it is for personal use and small quantity, then you ask the shipper whether hey can oblige o send you the sample under their expenses. Sometimes, shippers accept or agree o it.

I already have a mini hoard of products that have not worked out so trying something new makes me nervous, i'm afraid i'll end up wasting more money.

Answer
Consider a combination of AHA's and BHA's. Glycolic acid, lactic acid, hyaluronic acid, etc are all great and highly effective natural exfoliants for the skin. My favorite skin care line with these ingredients is Peter Thomas Roth. His products have literally improved my skin so much it's changed my entire life.

You can purchase them online from his website directly or at almost any major beauty retailer (Sephora, Ulta, Amazon, etc).

Also, a Clarisonic is essential! They have different brush heads designed for every type of skin - even the most sensitive.

Good luck!

At what age should you start using anti-ageing cream?

Answer
Hi Red Rose

Anti-ageing (spelled like this the american way) uk is Anti-aging. But who cares-its still the same frightening question.

Anti ageing is really all about prevention. I believe that anti ageing starts with using a good sun protection from day one, and this can start at a very early age. Then as soon as you start wearing make-up you should use a cleanser an eye cream and a moisturiser no matter what your age.

Choosing a good skin care range can be a minefield- at the age of about 20 you should start introducing products with active ingredients - I recommend taking the time to understand ingredients and their function in your products-this is not as complicated as it sounds. Use products with peptides and anti-oxidants and hyaluronic acid, but make sure these ingredients are right at the top of the ingredient list.
