Is it a realistic goal to become a hairstylist and move to NYC?

If you're good, would you make enough to move to and live in the big apple?
I have a part time job and am saving up, almost out of high school, and plan on going to beauty school as soon as possible. I'm going to save up a biiig hunk of cash for when I first move there. Is this even a realistic goal, or am I just wasting my time? It's always been my dream to become a hair stylist, and it's always been my other dream to live in New York City. I'd work my *** off for a couple years to get to that point, I don't care.
But I just want to know if this sounds completely childish. What other steps should I take? Ugh or just tell me your thoughts, opinions on this, anything!!

Answer
Always have a fall back plan.

Also, what shall you do for Health Insurace and Dental? Women are more susceptible to ailments than men, unfortunately, so you may need these services later on and your sole practitioner income may not meet these need especially if you are renting a salon of your own and not out of your residence.

You could also become a hairstylist for a salon (or even better... a spa) then have your services on the side like on weekends or day off from work.

Women are always happy to get married in New York City and want to look good so your services will come in handy. If you look through the "discover" section, you see request for good shops and spas.

Good luck on your endeavor.

Book(s) on beauty/health?

Labels:

What's your opinion on some of these self remedy books and can or would you recommend a good book to me? Thanks!

Answer
Don't bother purchasing books. There is so much information for free online. www.naturalnews.com and www.mercola.com are excellent, trustworthy sources. Byron Richards has a good site too, but I don't know what the URL is. If you type his name into a browser it will come up. It's Health and Wellness Resources, I think.

What's a good name for a beauty/health blog?

Shelby Rae

I'm starting a beauty and just general health and feel good type blog. Makeup, nails, eating health, hair, reviews, maybe a workout here or there or something. What would be a good name? My name's Shelby. And the only idea I've had so far is Black Rim Beauty. Because I wear black wayfarer glasses and they're like my trademark. But IDK. I'd like it to be short. And something you can remember easily. Any ideas?

Q. Nothing to do with games and stuff like that I mean like tips on beauty and hygiene and boys etc. any help girlies?:)

Answer
try answerology on seventeen.com, you can get advice from other girls

or just go on seventeen.com they have tons of beauty, fashion, and health tips.

Beauty tips anyone?????????? Help!?

Q. So I'm a teenage girl, don't wear makeup, and was just wondering what tips or daily routines you have that help make you look great. it could be something to do with your skin, eyes, whatever. Just curious to know what works!

Answer
Hi there!
Here are some of my favorite beauty tips!

HAIR:
-When I'm in the shower, I mix some apple cider vinegar with my shampoo. And then I mix olive oil with mu conditioner! The apple cider vinegar helps to really clean my hair, and it also makes my hair super shiny! And the olive oil helps to hydrate my hair, and it also gives it a healthy glow!
-At night, don't let your hair loose, because when you roll around in bed, your hair can break. Also, you don't want to tie your up too tightly, other wise your hair can't breath. SO, a nice loose braid or bun it perfect for at night while you sleep!

SKIN:
-Every night, I give myself a honey facial! I simply put plain honey on my face, and then I gently massage the honey into my skin, using my fingertips. I then leave the honey on for 20 minutes, then I rinse it off with warm water. Honey is amazing for the skin! It's moisturizing, soothing, healing, and antibacterial. It's great for ALL skin types, and works wonders for getting rid of acne and wrinkles!
-Having a healthy skin care regime will ensure that you have beautiful skin! Simply make sure you cleanse, tone, and moisturize your skin twice a day, and wear sunscreen in the day time!
-Rosehip oil is great for the skin! It makes it glow with health and beauty, and supplies the skin with needed antioxidants! Apply rosehip oil on under your moisturizer, twice daily. It will give your skin a healthy glow.
-I take weekly buttermilk baths! I fill a tub with warm water, and add about 2-3 cups of powdered buttermilk! I also add a few drops of lavender oil. Then I soak in the bath for about 20-30 minutes. Buttermilk will make your skin SO soft! It also has lactic acid, which will help sloth off dead skin cells and exfoliate your skin. When I get out of the bath, I rub my body in olive oil.

EYES:
-To help get rid of puffy eyes, apply black or green tea bags to your eyes. Black and green tea are full of antioxidants that are great for tired eyes! Leave the bags on for about ten minutes. Then use a moisturizing eye cream.

NAILS:
I like to soak my nails in olive oil! It makes my nails super soft and shiny! It's also great for strengthening them. Simply fill a small bowl with olive oil, and soak your nails for about 10 minutes. You can do this twice weekly!

Those are just some of my beauty tips and tricks! I hope I've helped. :)

13 year old skin care..... Please Answerrr. 5 stars best answer...?

Labels:

Q. Ok what at most should a 13 year old girl use for skincare? I would like to use more then just a cleanser, toner, and moisturizer. I would like to use as much as I can but only if it benefits me. I am afraid that if I use higher end products like bobbi browns hydrating face cream or MAC products then my skin will grow "immune" to the products and wont work for me when I am 20 or 30 when I might really need it.
Ok here is a list of skincare products. If you think it should be in my skincare then just type the number beside it. Or you could spell it outt.......
Also, please leave your opinion on this. And try to give me reason of why you think this!!! Also Im not stupid.....I wont put wrinkle "helpers" or anything having to do with wrinkles.

List:
1.night moisturizer ( basically a thicker moisturizer like bobbi brown hydrating face cream)
2.moisturizer (day)
3.body moisturizer
4.neck moisturizer
5.eye (treatment) ( usually consists of eye rollers or anything thats not an eye cream or gel)
6.skin booster ( Things like MAC Fix+ or Sprays, Gels and creams that contain healthy properties )
7.Baby Wipes
8.cleanser
9.clarisonic mia
10.toner
11.mask(s)
12.exfoliator
13.lip balm
14.acne gel or spot treatment
15.eye cream
16.skin serum

Ok thxx if you actually put in effort for this question!!!
wowwww.... I do eat healthy
I dont actually use all of this!! I honestly just use a cleanser a toner and a moisturizer!. And 2 masks every week or so. I am just curious on how much I should take care of my skin.. I am not by any means OCD but thats how I think i sorta feel with skin and hair etc. I just really like pampering myself!!

Answer
Everyone has different skin tone so I can't really tell you what you should use. Skin tones Like oily or dry skin, Easily irritated skin, etc... So I advise you to go a beauty clinic store. I go to sephora and they helped me and my Sis a lot. We tell them what our problem is or what kind of skin we have and they recommend products that fits to your problem/skin. And they give you samples if you want to try it first. You can find a sephora store on google or other search engines. Hope I helped :)

Google celebrities laser skin resurfacing.

My dermatologist do not recommend them. Talk to your dermatologist.

Topping the list of factors you can control is no shocker: Sun exposure is agingâs greatest accomplice. âYou hear it over and over again, but thatâs because itâs true,â according to New York City dermatologist David E. Bank, MD, FAAD, âThe sunâs rays break down collagen and elastin in the skin, causing wrinkles.â

Number one rule: stay out of the sun. Like Mario Lopez, he's a Mexican descent, but he won't even stand outside in the sun to do a photo shoot for a tanning lotion. Julianne Moore is one of those, who like to protect her skin from AGING. She walks in the shade. I grow up in Asia for 13 years, so I was dark, but it took more than 13 years to the color I have now. My neighbor only do errands after the sun had gone down.

Best sunscreen: wear denim clothing, floppy hat, or umbrella. They were invented to protect us from the elements.

I've been protecting myself from the sun since I was 9.

1. Because I don't want to look like a farmer.
2. Because I get too hot.
3. I want to look like movie stars & models, they have blemish-free skins.
4. I don't want to look like an old prune or get moles on my neck & face like my aunts.

No matter, I still got Discoid Lupus (Google it), caused from the sun. It took 12 years for them to fade. Tried all kinds of lotions that were prescribed to me, and none of them worked. More & more now I protect myself and I take my wide brim hat everywhere I go, or use an umbrella. Floppy hats are back in style. In Asia, they use umbrella all the time. Here in the States, people started to catch on, and I see people walking w/umbrella, they are used on the beach, and they sell patio umbrellas. It was invented for a reason and also to protect us from getting skin cancer. Wear long jackets, or denim a lot. Even inside a car, the heat alone from the sun can tan anyone.

RE SKIN LIGHTENING:
The FDA have banned 23 more whitening products. Google it. About 17,600,000 results.
The reason cited for the proposed ban is that studies in rodents show "some evidence" that hydroquinone may act as a carcinogen or cancer-causing chemical, although its cancer-causing properties have yet to be proved in humans. Hydroquinone also has been linked with the medical condition known as ochronosis in which the skin becomes dark and thick. Dome-shaped yellowish spots and grayish-brown spots also are observed in ochronosis among black women and men in South Africa, Britain, and the U.S. Ochronosis has been observed in conjunction with hydroquinone use even in persons who have used hydroquinone-containing cosmetics for a short time. Some studies also report abnormal function of the adrenal glands and high levels of mercury in people who have used hydroquinone-containing cosmetics. For these reasons, hydroquinone has already been banned in Japan, the European Union, and Australia.

Any skin-lightening products containing hydroquinone would be considered new drugs, according to the proposed FDA regulations. The products would require FDA approval before being sold to the public and would only be available with a doctor's prescription.
Skin Creams, Soaps and Lotions Marketed as Skin Lighteners and Anti-aging Treatments: May Contain the Toxic Metal, Mercury.

One YA poster used lemon on her skin: "i use 2 put lemon on my face mostly my chin area, and wat happend it dried it out and actually made it look darker and now looks discoloredâ¦"

Makeup, skin care, how can i continue?

watup?

im really interested in makeup and skin care, is there some type of "education" that i can pursue, i want to make it into my "career". i want to be able to do other pples makeup and travel, how can i pursue this?

Answer
I'm not sure where you're from but There's many school that offer Aesthetics so you could always pursue it that way. I worked for Clinique for quie some time and if skin care and make-up is what you want to go into, I'd suggest applying at a Clinique counter. They are #1 across North America and really teach you ALOT about skin care and make-up. I learned so much more that way then going to school for it (which I did) and actually got certified in make-up artistry. Now I do freelance for weddings and such. They really are the best comapny out there and working with prestige make-up really gives you and upper hand.

Skin care help!?

I need some help/advice with skin care. Please tell me anything that's working for all you prego's out there. I'm trying to stay away from the salicylic acid and benzoil peroxide products, but my skin is a wreck! Any product info is appreciated....safe and approved by your doc!

Answer
Pregnancy skin care for pregnant women is really essential; skin care and pregnancy go hand-in-hand. In order to maintain a pregnancy skin care routine, you'll need to focus on the basics of skin care. Follow these easy pregnancy skin care tips.
Pregnancy Skin Care: Cleansing
Start with a gentle cleanser. Dr. Amy Newburger, MD, a Westchester dermatologist, recommends using a nonresidue or glycerin-based facial cleanser. If your skin is ultra dry, then she suggests washing with a soapless rinse-off cleanser that's mild and moisturizing. Wash your face no more than twice a day to prevent overdrying.

Pregnancy Skin Care: Moisturizing and Sun Protection
The most important addition you should make to your skin-care routine during pregnancy (and beyond) is a moisturizer with at least SPF 15, and with broad spectrum protection (that works against both UVA and UVB rays).

Dr. Newburger explains that during pregnancy, elevated hormone levels trigger the multiplication of pigment cells, which can cause facial blotchiness, or "the mask of pregnancy." Using sunscreen daily â rain or shine â is the best way to avoid this discoloration. If you know you're going to be out in the midday sun or at the beach, protect yourself with a sunblock of SPF 30 or higher. Look for lotions and creams with the ingredient Parsol 1789 or Avobenzone on the label.

Pregnancy Skin Care: Acne and Oil
If your skin is oily and/or acne prone, you'll probably experience your worst breakouts during the first trimester of pregnancy. The safest way to treat these breakouts is with a product that contains glycolic acid, alpha hydroxy acid, topical erythromycin (prescription only), or witch hazel.

Generally, most dermatologists don't recommend the use of topical retinoids (such as Retin-A or Differin) or salicylic acid â check product labels for ingredients. While these ingredients haven't been linked with birth defects, when there's no conclusive evidence one way or the other, it's best to err on the side of caution.

Pregnancy Skin Care: Quick and Easy Makeup
When it comes to wearing makeup during pregnancy, stick with the less-is-more philosophy. It's faster and easier. All you really need to put your best face forward are few multipurpose products.

A foundation stick that doubles as concealer is great for covering under-eye circles and blemishes, and for evening out skin tone. Chubby pencils are foolproof for smudging on eyes, lips, and cheeks, and they won't take up much room in your bag. If you're the kind of person who won't leave the house without lipstick, make sure it's moisturizing and contains sun protection. For a polished look, finish up with a coat of washable, waterproof mascara and you're ready for the day.

Dry skin care problems.?

Zach L

So I have very severe acne on my face chest and back.
I'm on Acutane (medication in a pill form that gets rid of acne and prevents further breakouts) to try to remedy this but the medication has harsh side effects.
Dry peeling skin
dry cracked lips (painful)
both of these to the extreme.
Now this is the second time I've been on it (first time was for six months)
But this time the dry skin and lips are much worse than the first time.
I'm usin Blistex lip balm and while it works kinda, it only lasts a short time before it wears off.
It also rubs off on everything (food drinks hands clothes ect.)
It makes my lips very shiny if I put enough on, if I don't put enough on it doesn't work.
And I'm not sure if it's the acutane or the blistex my my lips appear twice their normal size(I look like a clown)
If any one has any answers as to effective alternatives to bothersome blistex, or a fixer for my clownish appearence
PLEASE HELP!
thanks
I get a perscription for the medication fro a dermatoligist. He told me to expect the dry lips and to use LOTS of lip balm, I was just wondering if there was a better solution out there.

Answer
I had that problem maybe a month ago but because I overwashed it trying to get rid of blemishes but they ended up getting worse and with dry cracking, flaky skin.....
You have to exfoliate to get rid of dead skin cells so I couldnt stop exfoliating so I stated exfoliating less harshly and more gentle exfoliation. I moisturized my skin with thicker lotions made specially for dry faces and did it more often. I kept reapplying all day whenever it started losing moisture. My lips werent horrible but they were cracked and dry so I rubbed olive oil on them and again kept caramex on them. But the one where you put it on with your finger one cause that one is more thick and the other caramex are more glossy
But what I think helped out my dry skin the most is water. I drank TONS of it. No kidding I would drink it all day. I would sip it once in a while but I would take big drinks all day. Its true what they say about water it does great things for your body. Appearance wise it cleared my skin so it was moist and blemish free and just great skin overall.. Hope I helped you a out a bit and GOOD LUCK!!

how is the market for herbal, natural skin care products in switzerland.?

Labels:

business in formation

Answer
Well Switzerland is the best for natural skin care products right now the idea to provide skin care products unparalleled in quality and effectiveness developed in Switzerland in 1975, when one man, Petter Mørck, together with a group of leading bio-chemists, biologists and herbalists, fulfilled his vision and founded Arbonne.

Arbonne's skin care products, based on botanical principles, became a reality in the United States in 1980 and are now shared throughout the world through Arbonne's network of Independent Consultants. Building on these same founding principles, Arbonne's product line has since grown to include both inner and outer health and beauty products that are unparalleled in quality, safety, value, benefits and results!

The Arbonne Institute of Research and Development, or AIRD, is a research and development facility located in Switzerland. The purpose of this institution is to coordinate the efforts of master formulators as they research, develop and finalize Arbonneâs exclusive skin care products. These proprietary formulas are owned by Arbonne and represent botanically-based products based on cutting-edge technologies and the latest advances in skin care science.

Pierrre Bottiglieri coordinates the development of Arbonneâs proprietary skin care formulas at AIRD in Switzerland. In this capacity Pierre brings his own expertise and the best minds in the business to the development of new formulas. The blending of Pierreâs extensive experience, global technologies, plus Arbonneâs commitment to rigorous research and development, creates a winning formula of pure, safe, beneficial products.

Pierre Bottiglieri is a renowned scientist and has 35 years of experience formulating products for several Swiss-international companies. Pierre has been a member of the Swiss Society of Cosmetic Chemists (Swiss Society Cosmetic Chemists) since 1972 and has played key roles in the IFSCC (International Federation Society Cosmetic Chemists) since that time.

The wonderful thing about Arbonne is that it's not just about great products, it's also about great people. The Arbonne family is made up of thousands of individuals working to make their dreams come true. Through sales incentives and rewards, travel opportunities, a generous SuccessPlan and great products, Arbonne offers a unique opportunity that can help make anyone's vision for the future a reality. Benefits of pale skin?

Relina

I have very pale skin, golden blonde hair, and blue eyes..I'm a little bit self conscious about my pale skin. I don't find it very attractive..i don't think guys do either. What are some benefits?

Answer
There are people who love skin like Coco (Google her and see what her skin looks like you can see the close up of her skin on TV Ice T loves Coco a reality show) and there are people who love flawless skin (Michelle Pfeffier, Adele, Nicole Kidman) all have pale skin.

Which side do you like?
To get super tan you will have to be tanning for @ least 60 years, George Hamilton & Tom Jones are two examples, who ARE super tan! Google them.
Tanning comes & go, unless you do them everyday 24/7 for the rest of your life. But in the end the only thing you'll benefit is either moles, freckles or discolorations from sunscreens, lotions, etc. and the more you do, the more they get larger, darker & bumpier. My nephew had a membership in a tanning bed salon for a year. After it expired, he stopped, now he's as white as before he began.

Tanning, is a result for 'damaged skin' and no products can reverse you from skin cancer or damaged skin, may prevent you from pre-mature aging, but that's part of the billion dollar beauty industry.
A new study conducted by the Indiana University School of Medicine Department of Dermatology has found that tanning bed exposure can be dangerous when tanners self-diagnose skin problems and use the radiation to treat skin eruptions. The study specifically found that a tanning bed user that used the radiation to treat a mild skin rash caused by an ibuprofen allergy developed a much more severe reaction called toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN). When left untreated, TEN can be fatal.
March 5, 2011 2:28 PM:
Melanoma is the leading cause of death from skin disease. An estimated 68,130 new cases of melanoma were diagnosed in the United States during 2010 and about 8,700 people died from the disease, according to the National Cancer Institute. Two million people are diagnosed with skin cancer in the US each year, according to the EPA's Sun-Wise Program. That's more than breast, colon, lung and prostate cancer cases combine!
Lotions does not protect you from nasty, painful burns. Lotions does not protect you skin cancer. Lotions does not protect you from skin diseases. Lotions does not protect you from discolorations - permanently. And lotions does not protect you from skin tags, freckles, moles, they will only get larger, darker, and bumpier as they are exposed from UV.

This year, 56,900 new cases of skin cancer will be reported; most of these people (not so coincidentally) don't take care of their skin when out in the sun.

Google: Warning in Tanning beds: About 9,150,000 results (0.25 seconds)

Google her and see what she looks like 2010.
"Plastic Week: Lisa Gastineau On The Dangers Of Tanning Beds"

She had 2-3 melanoma moles removed, one by her nose. She had nose surgery just to get her nose straighter, so she can breath again. She got those moles from a tanning bed.

I DON'T think you can predict your future.

Who cares if you have white skin, at least you will look beautiful when you get in your 50's, and girls with whiter skin will look YOUNGER looking in their 50's if you know how to preserve your skin.
I came from a vacay in Ireland, and many of the people there working in the profession (luxury hotels and banks, etc.) have beautiful white complexion!

I've been protecting myself from the sun since age 9, but no matter, I got Discoid Lupus. Google that one. It was like someone punched my chin and it gave a purplish mark. It took 12 years for that to fade, so now I'm using a wide brim hat or umbrella for protection. Gene Simmons & Shannon both have been seen hold an umbrella during an event. They were invented before beauty products, for a reason. Google also Bullous Pemphegoid another skin disorder. My husband's aunt recently got MELANOMA IN HER LUNGS, and in hospice now. When only last Christmas, she was behaving and very happy like she's 35 again! She's almost 84.

HOW OLD DO YOU LOOK . . . REALLY?
Blame genetics all you want, but it's really about how you've treated your skin. Dr. Michael Roizen, M.D. internist & author of the RealAge books, to quantify the effect your habits have had. The quiz is designed with a 28yrs. old in mind. Damage is cumulative, so if you're older or younger than 28, the number on the right would be slightly higher or lower.

Take your age and add the number of years listed on the right for every 'yes' answer.
1. Have you had more than 10 bad sunburns in your life? + 25 years
2. Do you have red, itchy eyes from allergies: + 25 years
3. Are you a regular smoker? + 2 years
4. Do you live in a highly polluted city? + 25 years

Now subtract the number of years on the right for every 'yes' answer.
1. Do you cleanse your skin every day? - 1.5 years
2. Do you get seven to nine hours of sleep each night - 1.5 years
3. Do you wear sunscreen regularly? - 1 year
4. Do you have dark brown skin tone? - 1 year
5. Do you regularly wear moisturizer? - 1 year

Looked Fake - Posted By: Anonymous 2008-12-06
I bought this at the same time that I began us ing Nucelle skin care treatment products for my skin. I tried wearing this product with and without Nucelle under it. Each time, this make-up looked fake and pigmented. It was easy to apply and very silky but didn't look very natural on me.

http://luvcosmetics.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/Healthy-Skin-Care-Products-300x289.jpg

How? Honestly, I would give a leg too have skin like this for my confidence.

What product would the lady be using?
What moisturizers would you use?
Would you need a healthy diet?
Does sleep have an affect on good looking skin?

So many questions, but i'd love the answers.

Thanks in adavnce!

Answer
The best way to get good looking skin, I find, is to drink a lot of water and try not to eat sugar. Yes, try to get a healthy amount of sleep. Use a simple cream moisturizer and exfoliate your face, then follow up with a cream cleanser. Remember, you are what you eat, so if you love greasy potato chips and candy, your skin will reflect that. Smoking and drinking also have an effect on the way your skin looks. Good luck getting healthy!

Aging skin????

Any good advice to avoid skin aging.......i know about sun protection......any other ideas??

Answer
http://www.doctorgoodskin.com/ds/agingskin

Anti Aging Skin Care At Home

Anti-aging skin care is a concern for all people. All of you are growing and your skin will show that you are aging. But you desire younger-looking skin. Science helps to fight the signs of aging skin in many ways. Surgical treatments can make you look young in a short time. But formulations that you can use at home can give equally satisfying results, if you begin using them from an early age.

There are many products that help you look young - AHAs, retinoids, copper peptide, vitamin c, etc. The problem that you will face is different- which product/products should you use? You cannot use all the products that are available, so you have to decide a skin care regimen that helps fight your skin problems and gives you optimum results.

Along with this, you have to consider the use of the products based on science and not their advertising. You will find many formulations of vitamin c in the market. But will that vitamin c enter your skin, since vitamin c is a highly unstable molecule? You would not like to spend money on products that won't work. You will have to discuss these issues with your doctor.

Similarly, if you propose to use retinoids, you have to first find out about your skin. Using retinoids on dry skin may dry the skin further. You have to thus look at skin care from both sides- your skin type and your need and the product, its effects and side effects. Once you arrive at a balance, you can make a regimen that will surely help you look young for a longer time.

How to properly care for skin?

lola

Besides washing my face, what can I do to have the healthiest skin possible? Any tips? Thanks

Answer
The best defense you have to care for your skin and to keep it looking as young as possible as long as possible is sunscreen. (Each and every day, even in the winter!)

Of course, keeping your skin well hydrated, a good balanced diet and sufficient sleep are also important.

For beginning a skin care regimen start with a gentle cleanser, like Aveeno which has a soy base so it doesn't dry the skin. (Unless you have very oily skin most people only need to use a cleanser once a day).

Find a toner with antioxidants as active ingredients like vitamin C, spin trap or copper peptides. Then use a glycolic acid gel with a concentration of between 8% to 10%. Glycolic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid, (AHA) which is a chemical exfoliant and will get rid of the dead skin cells that collect on the surface of the skin. If your skin tends to be oily try a 1% to 2% beta hydroxy acid (BHA) instead. They are both also a great blemish preventor as well. Spot treat any blemishes with OTC treatments.

Next, find a moisturizer with a vitamin A (retinol) active ingredient, and last apply a sunscreen. (Anthelios is the newest one just approved by the FDA and is non-greasy, light, and absorbs well.) Since it isn't as cheap as some others, you can use it only on your face so it lasts longer.

The antioxidants will help protect your skin while helping it to heal and the glycolic acid and retinol will help prevent acne outbreaks and even out your skin tone while addressing any hyperpigmentation and other signs of aging skin.

Once or twice a week use a microdermabrasion scrub after giving yourself a facial steam for a deep pore cleansing.

At night, after toning again, use a rich nighttime emollient moisturizer. If you are interested in firming your skin, look for one with DMAE as an ingredient.

With dedication to a simple skin care routine, your skin will look wonderful well into your elder years...

good skin care routine for a 14 year old?

Labels:

Mia

what is a good daily/weekly and monthly skin care routine for a 14 year old girl?
i have combination skin with an oily t-zone and the rest of my skin is dry/normal.
any advice?
names of products will be nice too :))

Answer
Cleanse and moisturize twice a day (no more than this).
Use products tailored to your skin eg. for oily skin or dry skin etc.
Exfoliate twice a week either with an exfoliating sponge and normal cleanser or with actual exfoliating cream.
Use a mask once a week (this might aggravate your skin the first time but with continued use it will do wonders, especially if you use pure clay).
Personally I think all natural products are amazing and deliver results. Depending on where your from try your local health food store they most likely stock natural products or if your in Australia try perfect potion.
For spots try tea tree oil. It works!
Whatever you do dont fall pray to proactive/harsh chemically based products they deliver short term only and are expensive.
Depending how much coverage you want with make up try mineral make up or tinted moisturizer or clinique foundation.
For a 14 year old I think foundation and eyeliner/mascara is plenty.
You should try to get 8 - 9 hours sleep.
The best thing for clear skin is plenty of water and a good diet.

is there a skin care regimen for 8 year old girls?

I am an avon rep and am looking for a skin care regimen for 8 to 12 year olds for girls

Answer
I think thats a bit young to be starting a skin care regime, but i would advise always to use a mild cleanser and a mild alcohol free toner followed by a light moisturiser like nivea for a young skin
