What's your beauty/health routine to prevent you getting wrinkles?

Labels:

bobo_doll

Answer
A good quality wrinkle cream. The source below outlines the key ingredients that you should look for in a anti-wrinkle cream.

What is your daily beauty routine survey(5 stars)?

Holly Goli

Please be specific on the products you use, and the exact placings of the steps. I am using this for an article, and comparing women's beauty routines to find the most successful products, and the most common steps.

Either Morning and Night or just one of the two is fine, but please tell me which one you are describing.

Routines include even the simplest things like showers, what soap and shampoo/conditioner you use, lotions, how you do your hair/make-up, and even brushing your teeth.

Questions I Need Answered: (please:)

1. How long have you been doing this routine?
2. Has it improved your looks? How?
3. Do you feel better about yourself since you've started this routine? Explain.
4. Out of everything you do, which one do you feel is most important to your overall health?
5. Which product is your favorite?
6. If you had to get rid of one step which one would it be?
7. Would you, or have you recently made any major changes in your routine, and what did it change from and to?

This would be GREATLY appreciated if you did this for me in details. I will give 5 stars to the most detailed routine and answers to the questions above.

Thank you :)

Answer
Morning routine:

1. Take a shower-Dove Cherry Blossom body wash, VS Beauty Rush Body Drink Lotion in Slice of Heaven, VS Body Spray in Amber Romance

2. Get dressed.

3. Wash face-Neutrogena Pore Refining Cleanser

4. Apply foundation(MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NC20. I wear Loreal's Pore Refining Serum underneath the foundation as a primer)

5. Apply powder(Physician's Formula)

6. Put on eyeshadow, eyeliner, and mascara

7. Flat iron or curl hair, depending on what I feel like doing that day.

8. Brush teeth

Your questions:

1. How long have you been doing this routine?
-About a year

2. Has it improved your looks? How?
-Yes. My makeup looks less cakey and more natural due to using better products.

3. Do you feel better about yourself since you've started this routine? Explain.
-Yes, it makes my makeup look nicer.

4. Out of everything you do, which one do you feel is most important to your overall health?
-Either taking a shower or brushing my teeth

5. Which product is your favorite?
-MAC foundation

6. If you had to get rid of one step which one would it be?
-Doing my hair. It's so thick and curly...takes FOREVER.

7. Would you, or have you recently made any major changes in your routine, and what did it change from and to?
-I used to not wash my face or use a primer before putting on my foundation, which resulted in breakouts and cakey makeup. Now my makeup looks very smooth and natural, and my skin is in better condition.

What are good facial skin care products?

Labels:

I really want good skin. I get an occasional pimple. I have combo skin. Normal forehead, oily nose, dry everything els. My skin is sensitive. I was thinking of getting the neutrogena one step facial cleanser and the alcohol free toner. I also have the wave, the neutrogena pink grapefruit wash, burts bees soap bark and chamomile cleansing cream, burts bees peach and willobark scrub. Also if you know any really good scrub for dry sensitive skin then please say:)
I don't use all of the products it's just what I have

Answer
Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser - Its specially formulated for sensitive skin so it works wonders on all skin types and can be used daily without worry. Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser will not dry out the skin and actually leaves the skin feeling soft and clean at the same time. It cleanses well, rinses off perfectly and isn't irritating. It does slightly (very slightly) dry my skin out but not that tight dry feeling you get with some other cleansers. I have also not developed any clogged pores or breakouts while using this, and I'm *very* prone to clogged pores!

Cetaphil also has a moisturizing cream that I think is even better than the cleanser! It's not greasy, absorbs quickly and leaves no shine. There's no fragrance to irritate my sensitive skin or nose. My dermatologist also told me that it was developed by a drug company that wanted a product that doesn't interact with their prescriptions, so it's chemically inert.

Queen Helene's Mint Julep Masque, this minty-scented clay mud masque comes in either a tube (love the tube) or a tub (not such a big fan of the tub, but it is more economical). My "secret" to keeping my complexion eternally fair and clear as the weather forecast for heaven. It just sucks up all the **** and leaves pure, fresh, clean skin behind.

Skin Care Products?

Mochi

Is it necessary to switch to different brand of skin care products once a while?? If so, how often?

Answer
Hi. It is not necessary to change skin care products. What is important however, is that you find a skin care regimine that contains no mineral oil, which acts like liquid saran wrap on your skin and can actually cause acne and no alcohol which can strip your skin of natural oils and cause dryness, also, that is pH correct, then stick with it. As a matter of fact, I'm an Independent Consultant for a health & wellness company & the retention rate since 1985 of clients that use our products is 90%.

I have heard of Proactiv solution, but it is too expensive. What do you think? are there other similar things that can help me to have a better complexion and close my pores? thanks

Answer
Heck yes! I work for the cosmetic company Shiseido, but I am CHEAP! I cant afford those things either! In my experience and knowledge of the skin, the true things that will give you great skin are simple, and inexpensive.
Tip 1: Wash your face daily with a facial cleanser, not bar soap. You can get great over the counter, i.e. Target brand, cvs brand, whatever facial cleansers, some of whice are meant for acne prone, oily skin.
Tip 2: EXFOLIATE!! exfoliation is teh best thing you can do for minimizing pores and making your skin healthy. Exfoliation keeps your skin healthy by sluffing away the dead layers of skin promoting new skin growth, which in return keeps acne at bay and helps lesson the appearance of pores. A great inexpensive exfoliater, St. Ives Appricot scrub, like $4
Tip 3: Moisturize with only OIL FREE produtcs
Tip 4: Use only OIL Free cosmetics, Nutragena makes great products.
Tip 5: Cosmetic counters at dept stores will give you samples, ask for them.

Teen girls with clear skin, what are your tips?

Answer
When it comes to skin care regiments many people seem to have a "no pain, no gain" sort of philosophy and will think that face washes, scrubs, toners and other products that burn or feel uncomfortable are "working," when in fact, they are almost always terrible for your skin. You want to be very gentle and avoid using harsh products that will strip your skin of the moisture it needs or otherwise irritate it. Cetaphil, Purpose, Desert Essence Tea Tree Face Wash, Kiss My Face cleansing creme are less abrasive but effective cleansers. If you've been having problems for a while, try using a wash labeled as being for sensitive skin to see if your face simply needs time to calm down.

~ Splash warm water on your face to help open the pores, and then gently and carefully wash it in slow circles moving upward on your face. Rinse the wash off throughly with the coldest water that will come out of your sink to close your pores, and then pat (do not rub) your face with a clean towel. Apply a moisturizer while your skin is still slightly damp and dewy. Even if you have acne-prone skin you need to light, oil-free moisturizer to prevent your face from becoming so dried out it produces even more oil to compensate.

~ Do not overuse products. You need to wash and moisturize your face in the morning and at night, and twice a week exfoliate. Once a week use a good mask. If you have spots use a very low dose of Benzoyl Peroxide. Do *not* use anything with more than 5% BP or you'll dry and irritate your skin. You do not need more than 5 products or so at any given time for your skin.

~ DRINK WATER. Have at least eight glasses of water or green tea per day, preferably with sliced lemon squeezed in to help purify your skin and give it a healthy glow. Red tea (also known as Rooibos) is also phenomenal for your skin because it is packed with antioxidants that will help to rejuvenate your skin. The Republic of Tea makes an excellent red tea called Get Gorgeous, but it's a bit pricey and hard to find. You can find other brands of red tea at most grocery stores.

~ Wash your brushes three times a week or more with antibacterial dish soap mixed with a tiny bit of olive oil to help prevent them from drying out. Clean brushes are of vital importance if you wear makeup.

~ Go for lighter-weight foundations and powders rather than the full coverage ones that can clog your pores. ALWAYS wash your face before you go to bed.

~ In the winter time you need to exfoliate three times a week to help slough off the dead skin from the dryer, colder weather. The rest of the year you only need to once or twice a week. A simple at-home exfoliator is olive oil mixed in with sugar, or manuka honey and sugar.

~ Wear SPF every day - whether it's cloudy or not - all over your face, neck and hands, and avoid ones made with helioplex because it can break you out.

~ Wash your pillow case every two to three days. Fragrance-free laundry detergent for sensitive skin is the best.

~ Exercise daily, including facial stretches such as puckering your lips like you're blowing a kiss and taking a deep breath and alternating the air from one cheek to the other. This helps to keep your face tone and stimulate blood flow.

~ Clean off your cell phone every day.

~Don't pick at your skin. Try to touch your face as little as possible.

~ Keep plants in your room to help purify the air.

~ Avoid consuming too much dairy, and if you absolutely must have it, try to have organic milk and cheese that haven't been pumped up with as many toxins. The hormones from a cow will be passed on to you when you drink its milk, and they can interfere with your own hormones.

~ Smile and keep your chin up.

: )

Peace

Do I have a medical issue or not?

James Gird

So I have been to the doctors today and was an absolute waste of time. I am none the wiser and it is as if he didn't care and it was almost as though I was holding him up.

For the past month I have been 'diagnosed' with stress and anxiety' with slight breathing difficulties, sleepless nights, headaches.

Have not seemed to get worse or better. Recently I have had full body aches and pains, dull aching pains, in one knee, then toes, then foot, the hand, then side of hand, then side of foot, then ankle, then hip, then arm, then back, then head, the fingers, all over really, on and off every few minutes. Not to the point of agony, but to the point of "Ow, what was that".

Slight dizzy feeling when standing up after sitting down, laying down, getting up quick, coming out of hot bath. Knees and ankles have been especially aching, like an arthritic feel. Warm knees, no inflammation. Elbows ache sometimes too.

Still sleeping problems, possibly due to internet and looking at all the illnesses under the sun, although they all seem to have the same or very similar symptoms.

Back ache for a week - only thing I can put it down to is using a rowing machine without warming up - even though for only 5 mins, cycling to work everyday and back - 20 mins max each way.

I am 19 years old and male, I have never been the fittest person weighing 14 stone last year - mostly fat - to 10 stone this year after much hard work and exercise. Still quite flabby on stomach and chest area, but my mum says i am bony - mainly because my shoulder blades are prominent.

Seems that i have weak muscles, or find it hard to put muscle on, forearms and wrists are quite bony, no real tone there as for the biceps. Legs have always been quite stocky, strong, lots of cycling. Have never really tried to put muscle on as in gym.

Work is mostly physical, ranges from pulling down trees old style to gardening, woodwork, painting, any odd jobs really. Have had a new 'desk' job for about two weeks, which is when these problems seemed to begin - pain problems, still trying to get over stress and sleeping issues.

Could it be transition from outside to indoors? 10 hours a day 5 days a week - now reduced to 8 hours a day 3 days a week so I do not die!

Like i said, today doc seemed totally unhelpful, asked to do refelx tests and any simple test that may check for coordination, etc but said nothing much really, could be due to sleep loss maybe? I dont know.

Have looked briefly into Fibromyalgia, Multiple Sclerosis, other illnesses with similar symptoms, can be anything, I don't know. I have never really felt like this before, There was a time when i was around 5,6,7 or 8 cannot remember when I woke up but could not move - paralysis, eyes wouldnt open, mum had to get me up then I seemed fine.

Had terrible migraines and sickness for about 4 years, maybe couple of times a week, due to school work and stress, was told I am a sensitive person.

I DON'T KNOW!

I just feel that there are links with these symptoms, whether it is because I have always been anxious, or worried or depressed whatever. But I always - look on the black side - I suppose. I mean could it be one of the major illnesses like MS, or other muscle weaknesses????

What other symptoms are there, have looked at most and tick the boxes on some but like i said they are all so similar, depression, anxiety, stress, sleep problems, muscle problems, headaches.

last few days just been lethargic feeling, tired, heavy eyes, heavy headed, slight loss of balance, only occasionally. Not constant aching but on and off pains,
slight problems swallowing,
sleeping still,
stiffness in hands in the morning
muscle weakness and tightness.

Thats about it, I do not know what is mild or bad, to me it is just noticeable as I am not used to it, so it makes it seem bad.

Any ideas, please shed some light.

Many Thanks

James Girdler

Answer
Hello Mr Girdler,

I think the problem of the doctor not taking you seriously, is best dealt with by taking a friend or relative along with you, and asking if they can come in too.

I think it would be no skin off your doctor's nose, for him to run a few blood tests. I would suggest a full blood count, (an FBC), and definitely either an ESR, or a C-reactive protein (CRT) test, with it. This should establish whether you have any inflammatory process like arthritis, going on inside you.

There are special arthritis blood tests, - "R.A. latex," and "Anti-nuclear factor," are 2 examples.

You have written and a helpful length, thank you, but I don't quite see whether you have some other stress in your life, apart from your health and weight problems. You must know what worries you have, - that is all that stress means, really, - - are they big enough at the moment, to be causing a lot of muscle tension?

Even if you think yourself over-anxious, you still need blood tests, - because as well as the above, you should have thyroid function tests, - because excessive thyroid-gland activity can cause over-anxiety.

I think that this period at a desk, might have given time for your joints and muscles to stiffen up. You don't say how long it will be before you get working again, but this may be what you need.

The dizziness on getting up is probably what is called "vaso-vagal syncope," (pronounced VAYE''- zo VAYE'' - gul SINN'' - koe - pee), - that is where your blood all collapses into your feet on standing up, so depriving your brain of blood for an instant. It is often associated with anxiety because that makes the "vagus" cranial nerve over-active, - hence the name. 'Syncope' is the medical name for faintness or fainting. One remedy is to get up from sitting much more slowly.

I wonder what goes through your head when you can't sleep, - it that these worries? It's better to try and solve the worries, than to take tablets for anxiety : )

There is no shame in being a sensitive person, if you are, - I am one myself. That shouldn't prevent you getting a proper doctor's opinion, an examination, and some precautionary blood-tests.

I hope this is of some help.

Best wishes,

Belliger

How to treat my skin?

HI... I live in a tropical country where the sun shines brightly 12 months around the year. So it is possible to get tanned even if you are out for an hour. And I attend an army school where we have to do march pasts all year round. So I am really badly tanned but not sun burnt. My face is oily and I use a sun block with SPF 50 but it doesn't help much. Moreover, I have huge amount of breakouts and pimples on my forehead. I do have a bad diet though.I have dandruff which I am trying to treat but won't go away.
So please help me to treat both my tan and breakouts. Thanks a ton!! :D

Is beauty relative?

nonoseknow

How can a beautiful object, building, person, thing be recognized? Is it desire or envy that defines what we find beautiful? Can one observe something beautiful without also wanting it? Why do museums sell copies of their collection and why do we buy them? Is our belief in physical human beauty a qualitative survival strategy? Do we extend that onto objects, buildings, poetry, vistas? Is beauty measurable (by tracking the release of brain chemicals or by other physical means)? Do different cultures have rules for what is beautiful? Are these rules relative or universal and a function of being "human"? Do we define an object, painting, song, line of text as beautiful simply because it survived through the ravages of time and taste? If we bought or now own something, did we consider its beauty in deciding to keep it? Or is the randomness of surviving enough to define an object as beautiful? Why do we preserve some things and destroy others?

Answer
(Nice one, nonoseknows! ;)

There are two types beauty: the "artistic" and the "biological", but the distinctions is not easy to make.

The biological beauty is not relative. There are certain characteristics that are appealing to us despite our cultural background. The most important one is symmetry. We find symmetrical things calming, easy to observe, appealing, so to a certain degree beautiful. It doesn't matter if the symmetry is found in a living being (an animal or a human) or in an object (a vase, a car, tree). This has its roots in natural selection: symmetrical things are better survivals. Symmetrical horses ran faster. Human runners with highly symmetrical ears are better runners that runners with less symmetrical ears. High symmetry of the body is related to good health and indicates higher probability of "good" genes.

Artistic beauty is relative. In part it is founded on the biological beauty, but is strongly influenced by the culture to which it belongs. Things which are beautiful to a certain culture maybe considered ugly by an other. For example: blackened teeth were at one time in Japan considered beautiful, white teeth are beautiful to the modern western culture. And the times and preferences change too: a full, downright fat woman was considered beautiful in the 17th century paintings, but in the late 20th century it was fashionable to be thin, thin, thin. Or the sun tan: to be pale or not to be? In short, things change and the reason behind the change can be very complicated.

Feelings too define beautiful. Beautiful is good, healthy, generous, holy, lovable, forgiving, gentle, loving, forgiving, protective etc. This is one factor of relativity: you may think that a song A is horrible disco junk from the 80s, but to me song A maybe beautiful, lovable, because it is a hit from that summer when I first fell in love. So an object of aesthetic valuation can be made beautiful by an association. Or ugly: you think that dogs are the most beautiful creatures in the world. I think they are ugly, an abomination since I was attacked by one when I was a kid. Feelings of nostalgia tend to make things beautiful.

I think that to an average man the most meaningful factor in defining an object beautiful are feelings, but that it requires a long and thorough explanation why a certain person considers certain object beautiful. There are general cultural principles and general biological principles and a set of individual preferences based on that individuals personal history. Beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder.

As to your question whether desire makes something beautiful I would quote a novel i once read: "Oh sire! Earth which is molded into a new form by the hand of man, is no longer particularly beautiful. But that, which you leave to be even though you could touch it, retains its beauty. And that, which you cannot reach, is the most beautiful of all." (The translation is my own, so...;) I think that the rarity of an object makes it more desirable and desirability can make object more beautiful. In part this is because the human eye gets used to an object that is seen often or constantly (a break from the rule- principle). A blond Scandinavian in Italy is exotic and vice versa and what is exotic is often considered beautiful. In ecological point of view this maybe because it promotes breeding with a very distant gene pool ;)

Certain fields of aesthetic action have their own codes of beauty. A dog breed has its standards that are (possibly) unique to it. Sometimes these codes are not considered relevant by the outsiders (modern and contemporary art!). What is considered beautiful by a group may not be beautiful to the general public. Interestingly cosmetic surgeons have templates for beautiful faces.

When we buy a copy, a poster etc of a museum piece, we buy the image, the idea, the memory of that object. Museums make them to make money, we buy them to remember and in a symbolical way to own a piece of an object that moved us aesthetically.

How to get a flawless skin on face and body? Skincare and makeup without buying extra skin care products?

Labels:

Singeress

I have super oily skin, and in some mirrors my face looks rough and my skin gets oily every 1/2 hour. Anything I can do without buying any extra skin care products, (I was told not to or else my severe acne would come back). But acne is not a problem though, my skin is fine. Plus, I'm kinda insecure about my skin when I'm out in the sun and under flourescent light. I want my skin face and body skin to look flawless. Smooth, beautiful skin.

Answer
Have you tried Nerium? It's an all natural organic night cream. It makes your face very smooth! Some people saw results in 5 days but to really make your face flawless, reduce any wrinkles or dark spots, I would use it for 30 days. If you research this cream, the results are remarkable and especially since the ingredients are organic (all natural!). Let me know if you have questions. I can provide you with more information. Hope this helps!

I have extremely oily skin and dark spots how do i get rid of it please i need help!!?

The more you tan, the more you lose that 'glowing' skin. Tanning, is a result for 'damaged skin' and no products can reverse you from skin cancer or damaged skin, may prevent you from pre-mature aging, but that's part of the billion dollar beauty industry. If you Google the meaning for 'tan',. hides with tannic acid so as to convert them into leather.

To get super tan you will have to be tanning for @ least 60 years, George Hamilton & Tom Jones are two examples, who ARE super tan! Google them.
Tanning comes & go, unless you do them everyday 24/7 for the rest of your life. But in the end the only thing you'll benefit is either moles, freckles or discolorations from sunscreens, lotions, etc. and the more you do, the more they get larger, darker & bumpier. My nephew had a membership in a tanning bed salon for a year. After it expired, he stopped, now he's as white as before he began.

A new study conducted by the Indiana University School of Medicine Department of Dermatology has found that tanning bed exposure can be dangerous when tanners self-diagnose skin problems and use the radiation to treat skin eruptions. The study specifically found that a tanning bed user that used the radiation to treat a mild skin rash caused by an ibuprofen allergy developed a much more severe reaction called toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN). When left untreated, TEN can be fatal.

Melanoma is the leading cause of death from skin disease. An estimated 68,130 new cases of melanoma were diagnosed in the United States during 2010 and about 8,700 people died from the disease, according to the National Cancer Institute. Two million people are diagnosed with skin cancer in the US each year, according to the EPA's Sun-Wise Program. That's more than breast, colon, lung and prostate cancer cases combine!
Lotions does not protect you from nasty, painful burns. Lotions does not protect you from skin cancer. Lotions does not protect you from skin diseases. Lotions does not protect you from discolorations - permanently. And lotions does not protect you from skin tags, freckles, moles, they will only get larger, darker, and bumpier as they are exposed from UV.

To get the level of SPF you see on the label, you have to spread the lotion on like a layer of vanilla frosting; that's the thickness used in Food & Drug Administration tests. "So your SPF 30 is really a 10." says Steven Q Wang, M.D. director of dermatologic surgery and dermatology @ Memorial Sloan-Ketterng Cancer Center in Basking Ridge, NJ and author of Beating Melanoma. So don't skim: Frost that cupcake!"
~ Vogue May or June 2011. Glamour May 2012.

This year, 76,259 new cases of skin cancer will be reported particularly among women in their 20's & 30's, and that's 6,020 more than 2011; most of these people (not so coincidentally) don't take care of their skin when out in the sun.

I've been protecting myself from the sun since age 9, but no matter, I got Discoid Lupus. Google that one. It was like someone punched my chin and it gave a purplish mark. It took 12 years for that to fade, so now I'm using a wide brim hat or umbrella for protection. Gene Simmons & Shannon both have been seen hold an umbrella during an event. They were invented before beauty products, for a reason. Google also Bullous Pemphegoid another skin disorder. My husband's aunt recently got MELANOMA IN HER LUNGS who was a perfect during Christmas until she got sick 2 weeks after, died 4-15-12... When only last Christmas, she was behaving and very happy like she's 35 again! She's almost 84. She was a golfer and did stained glass.

1. Long black hair that falls to her elbows in ringlets. Dark brown eyes, very tan skin (naturally that way, she doesn't tan constantly) Exotic-looking. Has a tiny nose-stud piercing. She's quiet and intelligent and very beautiful. She's a great big sister and is very kind.

2. Bottle-blonde. She flat-irons her long hair. Perfect pale skin, blue eyes. Shops exclusively at high-end stores. She's tall and thin, pretty and popular, but she's really mean. A back-stabber.

3. Long light brown hair. pinkish-pale skin, with a smattering of freckles across her nose. Green eyes, she has braces. She wishes that she had a sister, and tends to get lonely.

4. Long brown hair that she usually wears in a ponytail. Pale, freckly skin and bright blue eyes. She has a good sense of humor and is really good with her brothers and sisters. Very athletic, she's a track star at school.

5. Medium-length dirty blonde hair, light skin. Blue eyes, small and slight build. She likes to ride and has her own horse.

6. Dyed-black hair, empty brown eyes. Super-pale skin. Average height and weight. Depressed and doesn't care about school. Though she's not dumb, she's failing every class but art. She's very artistic and cares a lot about her art.

7. Very short and thin. Long, wavy brown hair nearly to her lower back. Bright green eyes and a ready smile. She's smart, pretty, and athletic. She's very popular, but she's super-kind to everyone.

Staph infection caused by a fly?

just me

Has anyone ever heard of a staph infection being caused by a fly? My daughter's baby's other grandmother says that is how she got the staph infection but I have never heard of this. She says that there are alot of people getting sick where they live caused by flies. They live in Kentucky so it isnt like it is some 3rd world country or anything. This woman is very well known for her crack use and the infection is on her face but I dont know where all else it is. I have searched the newspapers for their county and surrounding counties and there has been no mention of it. I have also tried to google it but still no mention. Does anyone know of this or know where I can go to research it? Please only serious answers.

Answer
We all carry staph around on our body. On the skin and in our nose & throat. The cause of the infections would be by direct ivasion of a staph germs that's not our own. Staph can cause disease in most of our organ sysytems and the skin, like burn patients. Flies do not carry or spread staph aureus. It likes nice warm moist people to live on. I live in Nashville, and some of the wild and looney stuff doesn't suprise me,I hear worse everyday at work in the ER. .Lots of info at webmd & Google so you can print some stuff & show them yourself. Drug addicts are very prone to skin infections caused by staph, and other infections due to their generalized poor health.Take care SW RNP
