Some Natural Oils You Can Use For Your Hair

Labels:

Some researchers in Scotland found that for patients who were suffering from great hair loss, and from conditions like alopecia nervosa, massaging with essential oils like rosemary, thyme, cedarwood and lavender caused a dramatic reduction in their hair loss.

However, other experts do say that no matter what oil you may use to massage your scalp, it is the quality of the massage that will help your hair more than anything else.

Experts advice that you must use circular movements and only the tips of your fingers to massage oil into your scalp. This will promote hair growth and give one a feeling of well being and also bring relief from mild headaches.

Try not to use too many chemicals in your hair; they may be harmful and may cause irreversible damage to your healthy hair. Instead, use fresh natural oils for massaging your hair everyday. Here are some natural oils for you:

  • Mix chamomile in a glass of warm water. Use this solution as a final rinse after you wash your hair. This will act as a natural conditioner for your hair and let it stay in place. Additionally, chamomile has the advantage of giving golden highlights to your hair.

  • You can use rosemary instead of chamomile for the same effect, although rosemary is in fact generally recommended for treating oily scalp and dandruff.

  • Almond oil can be combined with raw eggs to be applied to the scalp. This will cure infections such as dandruff and dry scalp. It will help get rid of itching and dryness of hair.

  • Use a teaspoon of basil mixed into your usual oil. This will help you get rid of your oily hair, and promote new growth of hair, especially if you are aged above fifty.

  • Clary sage oil can be used to treat dandruff, and experts say that this is one of the more effective remedies for the problem. Similarly, myrrh, if available, can deal with dandruff and lice, if used regularly, and if massaged with the technique described above.

  • On the other hand, peppermint oil can be used to fight dry hair. It conditions your hair and gives it a luster.

  • Tea tree oil, which is readily available in all stores, can be used on oily hair, and to fight scalp infections, itchiness and irritability.

Remember; find out whatever you can about the natural oils mentioned above before you start using them. Everything does not suit everybody, and you must exercise caution before using them, especially if you suffer from any sort of scalp infections or hair dryness.

What Is Eyelash Transplant Surgery And How Is It Useful?

    Labels:

Recently, my friend, aged fifty, told me, “I really need to get something done to spice up my life.

Since I don’t want to go in for things like face lifts or tummy tucks, how does an eyelash transplant sound to you?” Frankly speaking, I was astonished! I was not even aware of the existence of such a thing!

What all a human being can think of to become beautiful! My friend’s question prompted me to research a little into the topic, and here is what I found:

This is a cosmetic surgery, done for people who either wish to augment their looks, or who really do not have any eyelashes for a number of different reasons, and want to have some.

People who do have eyelashes tend to dismiss eyelash transplant surgery as stupid or a complete waste of time, but one may not be able to understand the feelings of those people who have lost their eyelashes due to infections or burns, or congenital malformations or some other reasons; they would give anything to own a few eyelashes.

The only problem with this procedure is the fact that these eyelashes will grow, just like natural head hair will. Therefore, these eyelashes will have to be trimmed every few weeks; otherwise they will keep growing…

The costs for eyelash transplant surgery would come to about $3000 per eye.
The typical recovery time after eyelash transplant surgery may be about a week or ten days, and the new eyelashes will start to grow from six to eight months after the surgery date.

    • Remember; these eyelashes will gray once the head hair starts to gray!
Older people use this surgery to restore their thinning eyelashes.

No matter what the age, if one desires to be beautiful, without the complications of eyelash extensions and so on, one can opt for this surgery. There can be no doubt that long thick eyelashes that frame one’s eyes will look gorgeous, and can do wonders for one’s self esteem.

Please consult a qualified doctor however before you opt for the surgery

How Do You Style And Tame Your Curly Hair?

    Labels:

It is easier to manage curly hair than you may think. I have this friend who has a wild looking mane of curly hair, and she always moans at her fate, saying, “I wish my hair was straight or something. Why can’t someone find a method to style my hair type?”

    • That prompted me to find out how exactly people with curly hair manage it, and what styles they use to look good.

Here are some of the things I found out:
    • First and foremost, curly hair is a blessing: it does not need constant maintenance like straight hair does. People with curly hair have to simply wash their hair, use a little bit of styling gel, and walk out cool and poised, while the rest of us struggle to style our hair, a style that never stays anyway unless expensive gels are used.

    • However, curly hair needs to be cut and styled well. If you have long curly hair, remember that your hair will be weighed down by the curls, while if you have a shorter hair cut, your curls will be released. Experts say that it is a good idea to have a layered style.

    • Curly hair is generally dry hair, and therefore, you will not need to shampoo your curls too often. Your conditioner will keep your hair clean, while at the same time keeping it moisturized.

    • Whenever you comb your curly hair, use a wide toothed comb, because this will takeout the tangles. You can then use a styling gel or mousse to keep your curls in place.

    • A hair expert recommends this styling method for curly hair: first, separate your hair into one or two inch sections. Then, twist your hair so that it forms more ringlets. Walk out stylishly and make waves!

    • It is always a great idea to remove excess moisture out of your curly hair before you step out.

    • Air drying is a better idea for curly hair than blow drying, as it can dry your hair even more.

    • Spend some time over your curls; don’t take it for granted. With the right hair cut, style, styling gels and moisturizers, there is no need for you to feel jealous of the other girls around who have a gorgeous head of straight hair. Your hair too can look as attractive, if not better, so keep trying!

How To Make The Best Facial Cleansers At Home?

    Labels:

It is indeed possible to spend less, and get more. Yes, I am talking about skin care products and facial cleansers.
Some of the best facial cleansers you can use are readily available right at home, but most of us do not know this, and we end up spending extravagant amounts of money on them.
Why, even the great Cleopatra used home made facial cleansers to keep her skin looking beautiful and glowing at all times!
Here are some tips on how to make the best homemade facial cleansers:

    * Alpha-hydroxy acids form the main ingredient in most facial cleansers, and this is something that is readily available in most of the food stuffs that we use at home. Milk contains alpha-hydroxy acids, and apparently, Cleopatra indulged in milk baths everyday!
Lemon juice, oranges, blackberries, grapes, and tomatoes all contain this important acid, and what they do is to exfoliate the skin, so that the dead skin cells that stay on the face long after they are dead are removed, to leave your face clean and glowing.

Remember, when the top layer of skin is removed, it helps the natural emollient oils in our body to reach the rest of the cells, especially those on the surface, thereby moisturizing the skin and leaving it fresh and moisturized.

    * Since honey is one of the main ingredients used in skin care products, you can use fresh honey masks made at home to cleanse your face. What you do is this: use a warm cloth on your face to open up your pores, smear some honey on your face and leave it on for fifteen to twenty minutes. Wash it off with warm water, and finally, use cold water to close up the pores. Repeat at least once every week for glowing skin.

    * My aunt swears by sugar as one of the best facial cleansers available at home! What you do is this: pour some of your usual facial cleanser on your palm, add a few spoons of sugar into it, and then use it in the usual way. The sugar will remove all the dead skin on your face, leaving it clean and fresh! You can even add sugar into your bath very once in a while, but be gentle and do not scrub too hard.

*Salt too can be used as an effective facial cleanser. Wet your face, take some table salt and rub it all over your face. Salt serves as an excellent exfoliater!

Ask around, and I assure you that there are hundreds and thousands of such recipes that can be used as facial cleansers. Try only a little at first, and then use a lot. Be careful though, do not be too daring!
