can someone help me sort this problem out..
I used to have spots but they have gone and left scars on my face....i wash my wash daily with soap and my skin looks great and clean afterwards...the thing is if i dont wash my face with soap or use cream (palmer's coca butter lotion) then my face looks awful :(
can someone tell me how to look after my skin? should i use soap or not? and any creams which can help my skin to be more cleaner and fresher?

well if the soap helps, then you probably dont need to switch. you could try covering it up with physicians formula makeup. its supposed to help your skin while giving a natural, even-toned look. or you could always use bare minerals

I don't want to spend 10+ years of my life in school studying for a career in dermatology. I'm interested in hair and skin care but I'm not interested in cosmetology. I like learning about what products cause aging and giving other people advice on what products to use to keep their hair safe from breakage. I also like nutrition and keeping your body fit and healthy. Have any ideas of any careers that fall into my interest?

This sounds like Cosmotologist and/or Esthetician.

There are lower level nutrition programs that teach you the basics and it's up to you to keep up to date from there.

And I want to clarify, schooling for a physician, any physician, is 8 years (other than a few specialized compressed programs). 4 years undergrad and 4 years med school. After that, you are off to residency where you are basically doing paid on the job training. For Derm, it's 3-4 years. So, yes, it's more education, but the pay is about 10 times more ANNUALLY.

why does itching everyday after shower?

Is there solution for this problem? everday after shower start itching for approximiatly 1/2 an hour specialy on both hands and legs? but there is no spot or seed on skin visualy just creat thrill for itchy? what it is the matter? or i must disclose with skin care physician? i would be glad have an good suggestion.thanks.

The soap you use in the shower not only removes any dirt but it also removes the natural protective oils that keep some moisture in your skin. As a result your surface skin dries without your just lost surface oil protection which you cannot see - AND your skin then itches more as it further dries. One way to reduce the itching would be to use a moisturizing soap, and then after the shower, apply some moisturizing body lotion to the parts that itch. Good luck!

I am very interested in studying Dermatology after high school and a little while ago I came across this website of a certain skin care clinic and I looked at the biography of the doctors that worked at the clinic, some of them had a diploma in dermatology and others in practical dermatology or both. One of the doctors didn't have a diploma but a certificate of competence in aesthetic procedure. However, it said that they were all Aesthetic Physicians, so now I am confused as to whether a aesthetic physician is the same as a dermatologist.

To be a Board Certified Dermatologist takes intensive training (a residency) and passing the Board examination. Aesthetic Physicians, according to their web site, practice "a discipline within medicine that does not require formal residency training or a fellowship and can be practiced by a licensed physician of any specialty."
There are also Plastic Surgeons who help make people look better. If you're going toward a specialty, you're best off heading toward one that actually requires a residency and that is recognized--Dermatology or Plastic Surgery, depending upon your interests and abilities.

I read somewhere that skin care produts for your face can recede your hairline (on a male) or cause a type of hair loss. Is this true? I use Neutragena and Clean and Clean. Please help.

I doubt that those specific products will cause any serious hair loss for you, you can always check the labeling or online to see if there are any major side effects that come with usage though. Also, if on the off chance you do begin noticing significant hair loss, I'd suggest scheduling a free consultation with a Bosley physician at one of our many regional offices (all listed on our website).

What kind of doctor to go to remove two nodes of skin down below?

I originally went to my primary care physician, who told me not to worry - the two little growths were not dangerous, but she wasn't the type of doctor who could remove them. (I can't recall what she referred to them as.) They're about the size of a zit and located one on a labial flap and one near the opening of the anus. (Sounds disgusting, I know - but true - and I want to get rid of them! lol) What kind of doctor should I go to?

I think you should start with a gynecologist who can tell you exactly what they are. And, they'll be very comfortable looking at your vulva--- they've seen LOTS of them. =-)

Ask her for some advice. She may refer you to a dermatologist to have them removed and biopsied, or she may be able to do it herself.

It depends where you live and what the local or state requirements are. In some states, you only need to work under a doctor's supervision and don't need an esthetic license, which I find a bit scary. I would never want to go to anyone who does not have appropriate education. Esthetic license should get you in anywhere. There are advances esthetic courses you can take as well since many physicians want people who are experienced on the machines. Each machine is different though, and some states require direct education from the machine's manufacturer before allowing estheticians to use it.
