I'm really pale and never tried to tan before. I usually wear sunscreen so I don't really know how easily I burn. I want to get a tan before Memorial Day. What SPF should I use and how long should I lay out for everyday to get a tan?

Answer
Pale people don't tan, they burn.

Tanning comes & go, unless you do them everyday 24/7. But in the end the only thing you'll benefit is either moles, freckles, skin tags or discolorations from sunscreens, lotions, etc. and the more you do, the more they get larger, darker & bumpier, even skin diseases like Bullous Pemphegoid or Discoid Lupus. Like exercising, your muscles will sag, when suddenly you stopped, same with getting a tan, they will fade.

Tanning, is a result for 'damaged skin' and no products can reverse you from skin cancer or damaged skin, may prevent you from pre-mature aging, but that's part of the billion dollar beauty industry. To get super than you will have to be tanning for @ least 60 years, George Hamilton & Tom Jones are two examples, who ARE super tan! Google them.

Melanoma is the leading cause of death from skin disease. An estimated 76,259 new cases of skin cancer will be reported particularly among women in their 20's & 30's, and that's 6,020 more than 2011, people died from the disease, according to the National Cancer Institute. Two million people are diagnosed with skin cancer in the US each year, according to the EPA's Sun-Wise Program. That's more than breast, colon, lung and prostate cancer cases combine! Now however, a recently published study suggests that those people with ginger hair and fair complexions face a much higher risk of developing dead skin cancer even if they are completely protected. Nov 2nd, 2012.

Oregon has the fourth highest rate of death from skin cancer in the United States, according to Dr. Brian Druker at the Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. KATU.com 2-12-13

To get the level of SPF you see on the label, you have to spread the lotion on like a layer of vanilla frosting; that's the thickness used in Food & Drug Administration tests. "So your SPF 30 is really a 10." says Steven Q Wang, M.D. director of dermatologic surgery and dermatology @ Memorial Sloan-Ketterng Cancer Center in Basking Ridge, NJ and author of Beating Melanoma. So don't skim: Frost that cupcake!"

Watch Mirror, Mirror when the evil queen played by Julia Roberts wanted to look as fair as the princess played by Lily Collins. I came from a vacay in Ireland, and many of the people there working in the profession (luxury hotels and banks, etc.) have beautiful white complexion!
This is what beautiful flawless skin looks like:

Google Liv Tyler. http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=liv+tyler&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8
Or Google Catherine Zeta Jones - she's 42 with beautiful skin.
Watch The Duchess - Keira Knightly has flawless complexion - a natural beauty.
Taylor Swift is another starlet with beautiful skin, in her 20's.
Nicole Kidman has flawless skin (barely wears makeup) or Julianne Moore, who is 7 yrs. younger than me! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2325045/Cannes-Film-Festival-2013-Nicole-Kidman-protects-big-hair-umbrella.html

I've been protecting myself from the sun since age 9, but no matter, I got Discoid Lupus. Google that one. It was like someone punched my chin and it gave a purplish mark. It took 12 years for that to fade, so now I'm using a wide brim hat or umbrella for protection. Gene Simmons & Shannon both have been seen hold an umbrella during an event. They were invented before beauty products, for a reason.

What makes a porn ( star )? What makes her different from all the other women?

Sam

I'm thinking about heading into porn, but I don't want to tarnish my name if I am not going to have a certain level of success. I wondering what I could do to set myself apart from other women, or is it just having "star quality"? Something you're born with?
* in response to that question, being in playboy or a magazine would be some kind of dream come true for me, I would be very proud

Answer
Please don't listen to Eoghan g, auditions my rear. Firstly, before I start, I want to tell you I respect your wishes. Its very lovely that you haves hopes like this, no matter how degrading it is in some peoples' eyes. And also, please be careful. There are many scammers and perverts out there who may claim to get you into stardom and big bucks, but it could end up big trouble!

I'll start by being honest. You have to have at least some kind of sexual appeal to people. A seductive voice, large breasts, full lips, whatever feature that can make you can stand out in your benifet. Though, I'm sure, there are some porn stars out there that lack the slightest amount of appeal or beauty without makeup or extreme dieting and surgery.

You're going to need a massive amount of patience and willingness. I don't doubt that you're going to be asked to do something you don't want to do or something extremely queer in your position.

Some skill in acting would help. You're not going to go many places just by going "Oh baby. Yes. More. UHH!" Try to tune your voice and expression.

I would recommend you get insurance. Health, life, whatever. How many STD's and infectious diseases there are in the porn buisness is beyond me.

Experience may help just a bit.

Sexual tolerance. Again, I'm not QUITE sure, but in certain roles and parts of a porn flick I'm sure the director and fellow actor(tresses) won't appreciate a sudden orgasm before you even have your top off.

Like I said, I respect your wishes. But take in mind that like modeling, the career as a porn star can only last so long. It CAN tarnish your reputation and interfere with future careers and jobs. You can't stay in the porn buisness forever. You will age and you WILL lose something of significance. I think some of the answers here have stressed enough some of the consequences! So I won't go on.

You can either pursue your dream as a porn star in a professional manner or you can remain ametaur. I think the ametaur path will be a more suitable and less-tarnishing way, seeing it is not an actual job to post your own little videos on XTUBE or YOUPORN. But you may just get your own little fan club!

Good luck!
