Why is it that teenage girls today wear shirts that should be women 10 years older?

My mom and grandmother was telling me the other day that when they were teenagers, they were wearing t-shirts that weren't skin tight, or cleavage showing. Why is it that it's like, mandatory that girls in my school wear sexy shirts? I know it has a lot to do with the media, but isn't it ridiculous that back then teenagers wore what 8 year old kids wear today? Opinions?

pop culture changes constantly, what the media portrays as beautiful constantly changes. humans have always wanted to be accepted and loved. Women and men will both go to extremes to be noticed and loved. Unfortunately the attention they get is usually negative when they promote their sexuality instead of their other qualities. Its unfortunate that people feel sex is the only thing they can promote, but really its because we as a people don't care about the other qualities.
The day we as a society are able to look passed these things then and only then will they no longer be important
