What skin care and vitamins should I be using? I'm a 30 yr old woman. Should I be using anti wrinkle creams and things for prevention?
Answer
It is never too early to start taking care of your skin.
First, you should get proper sleep every night, and try to sleep on your back.
Second, you should eat more fish, along with more vegetables and fruits. Nothing is worst for skin than greasy, fatty foods.
Third, keep your skin clean, but don't over wash it. Especially avoid tap water.
Finally, consider adding a few topical items to your skin care line. a good collaen cream, while not permanently getting rid of wrinkles, can smooth out your skin and prevent the wrinkles from forming deep creases. A good Vitamin C serum can als do wonders for the skin.
Here are a few good ones.

What skin care should a 30 year old woman be following?

I'm almost 30 and I'm worried that I'm not doing as much for my skin as I should be. Especially my face. What type of cleansers and lotion should I be considering? Should I start wrinkle prevention now?
Answer
At the very least, use sunscreen on your face and neck. That's something you will regret later if you don't. Sun damage isn't pretty.
Your skin care routine should depend on your type of skin. Generally it consists of cleanser, eye cream, and moisturizer. I don't think toners make a difference really unless you have very oily skin.
At 30 you likely don't need much in the way of moisturizer but should be using something. What you need to know first is if your skin is oily, normal, combination, or dry and then get a set of products related to that skin type. It doesn't have to be expensive, drug store brands are fine.
Whatever you decide to use, don't forget to include your neck and under your chin.

Skin care at 26 years of age?

I'm 26 years old and I'm looking to start a long term skin regimen. What are some options that aren't too extreme yet? Should I start a wrinkle cream or wait until I'm 30? Obviously I know that wrinkles will happen eventually but would like to do what I can to keep my skin looking great. What products have you used?
Answer
Skin care regimines are important, but there are nessicary steps to take to make sure your skin will respond properly.
First things first, take a look at the products your using now. If your cleansers, moisturizers, or treatments are working, why throw them out? At you age, no wrinkles are not a big concern but you may, if desired add a wrikle reducer.
If you c hoose to swich out all the products in your current regimine here is how you do so.
First, throw everything away, or give it to a friend who may be able to utilize what's left. Next go to the store, of your choosing, and purchase a sensetive skin or gentle cleanser and an oil free, non codmegenic, fragrance free, light moisturizer. These will be your new best friends for the next 2 weeks.
It is very important to give your skin resting periods to properly adjust from one product to the next. Hence the sensetive skin cleanser and moisturizer.
After a week with just your new cleanser and moisturizer replace one of them with your new, and personally chosen skin care product. After another week, replace the other. After each following week add what ever other products you may be using, serums, lotions, sprays etc...
It is also suggested you only use your new products once a day or every other day. You dont want to over work your skin while its adjusting to your new products. Slowly over time you should be able to use them as directed.
Next, the following is suggestion for a basic, but safe, skin care regimine for your age group, and concern.
1) exfoliate. Exfoliation should only be done 2 to 4 times a week. Exfoliating will help remove built up dead skin cells, make up, oils, and dirt that can clog pores or addvstress to the skin causing wrinkles. My two favorite exoliating 'friends' if you will are, A) clarisonic mia, available at sephora, it is the perfect automatic facial scrubber. 2) mineralize volcanic ash exfoliator by mac, made with minerials volcanic ash and sugar crystals this will clense the face with out over drying, leaving your face smooth with a healthy glow.
2) Cleanse. This should be done daily, or even twice a day if needed, once you have fully adjusted in to your new routine. There are a myriad of cleansers on the market targeted at various skin care concerns. AHA/BHA are common in cleansers for reducing fine lines and wrinkles. I would suggest Murad or peter thomas roth brands for your cleanser. They are both amazing and most important, effective.
Step 3 is conplicated as your treatment serums lotions spray etc... should used in order of thickness. For the sake of keeping some order to this list, lets pretend your treatments are lighter(more liquid like) than your lotion.
3) Treatments. After cleansing you made add what ever treatments you have chosen for your self. DO NOT OVER DO IT!!! One or two treatments is acceptable, anymore and your face is a chemical war path. I am quite fond of a couple different anti aging products a) mineralize charged water eye cream by mac, soaks right in to the skin and reduces fine lines, wrinkles, puffiness, and even dark circles over time. B) ole henricksen truth serum. Best anti aging gel I have ever tried. Perfect for every day use. This can be added all over your face, or to just the areas you feel it would be needed, like marionette lines or over your forehead.
4) Lotion. Hydrated skin is key to keeping your skin healthy young and glowing. Even if you dont have blemish prone skin, I would suggest going with an oil free lotion, as this will soak in to the skin faster and easier. Again I would go with murad, ole henricksen, or peter thomas roth.
Next! Healthy younger skin isnt all about the products you use on the outside, it also come fron the way you treat yourself.
1) eat right! Im jot saying become a health nut, as I myself enjoy taco bell, but treat your body every once in awhile to a treat, something with everything you really need, like protien, vitamins, minerals, carbs (the good kind). Believe it or not but even treating your body to something good once a week can make all the differance.
2) WATER!!!!!! Our bodies are 70-80% water, and yes I am guilty myself of not drinking enough, but your body craves it. Keep your skin hydrated from the inside, itll start looking better on the out side. Hate the taste of plain water? Yea me too, try adding some fresh lemon or lime for a little tasty zip.
3) Sleep. In todays fast paced world sleep, and I mean good sleep, is hard to come by. Dont be afraid to catch a cat nap, or go to bed alittle early some nights. Our bodies do most of the healing and rejuvenating while we are in REM(Rapid Eye Movement) sleep. More sleep allows your body to fix what's wrong, including your skin.

A good Vitamin C serum can als do wonders for the skin.

smooch!
I need to know how much it would be for someone to take photos of my skin care line and post them online, it is so the public sees a picture of the product they can buy. I would appreciate your help.
Answer
This question all depends on the photographer, and the quality that you are willing to spend to get (let's face it, quality costs some money).
I'd probably charge $1500 and that would include all the photos, with post-processing/editing so that they look their best, and you would get all the images as 8x10 print quality, with rights to use the images for promotional websites and print info.

What is a good skin care regimen for high amounts of sun exposure?

Got2getby
I teach tennis six hours a day everyday except Sunday. I apply sunscreen before I go out (spf 30 or 50) and I wear a hat or visor. I am still getting sunburned on my neck and shoulders and my skin feels like it is not taking all of this sun so well. What can I add to make a good skin care regimen that fully protects my skin and prevents further damage? I am 23 with combination skin.
Answer
30 spf means it is 10 x 30 =300 minutes before burning . so when it expires as u think, reapply it. it also fade when there is water such as raining, sweating, swimming, etc.

I need to find good quality skin care products?

Amelia as
I need help i need to find a great an amazing skin care 3 step product for morning and night, Any suggestions please reply.
I also need a hydrate skin lotion that gets rid of oily skin...
I would also need a good quality lotion, I also need a suggestion of a good quality shampoo and conditioner and chopstick (Lip balm).
Answer
I would recommended clinique's "3-Step" Skin care. There are 3 products you use morning and night everyday, and i love them. Plus, i would suggest using clinique's "Acne Solutions Clearing Moisturizer Oil-Free" if you are trying to get rid of acne. But if you just have oily skin you should try "Olay Regenerist Regenerating Serum." But if you still want to moisturize, use "Eucerin Everyday Protection Face Lotion with SPF 30." This will moisturize your skin and protect it from the sun, while it is not greasy either. For your hair, any Paul Mitchell shampoo would be a good choice, but it depends on your hair. If you want a hydrating shampoo, try any in the Tea Tree collection. If you're looking for something else, visit their website and browse through the products. There are shampoos for more body, smoothing your hair, and a lot more. It would be a good idea to get the matching conditioner to whatever shampoo you choose. And finally, go for a Burt's Bees chapstick along with any of clinique's lip glosses. Hope I helped! :)

What's a good skin care routine to achieve smooth, healthy, and flawless skin?

I have couple blackheads here and there, along with some whiteheads. My skin type is a combination of dry, and oily. I'm tired of having acne, it's so frustrating to deal with. My confidence level has dropped down a lot. I need help. So, what's a good skin care routine to achieve smooth, healthy, and flawless skin?
Thanks for answering!
I'm 13 by the way.
Answer
**I had a hypersensitive, fair skin in my early teens. My skin was dry and severely flaking, had severe sun damage, discolorations, blotches, large pores, many blackheads and whiteheads, pimples and scars. I found cause was mainly harsh soaps and also shampoos that gave me severe flaking scalp and harmed facial skin. I switched to hair and face washing with a mild natural bar soap with no additives, no colorings, no fragrances and healing started. Healing was very much hastened by vigorous massaging with essential oils. To do vigorously first tighten face by opening mouth 3/4" and pulling lips firmly back against teeth. Do a forward and back massage with tips and front and sides of fingers and palms, depending where on face applying. Circular massage is not effective. Gradually build up to vigorous as skin has to adjust. Initially face and hands may ache but also quickly adjust. If do a daily 30 min massage(can be in two or more sessions) you will get dramatic results. In first few days blackheads, whiteheads and pores will vanish or greatly diminish. Skin will quickly become smoother, softer, tighter and look and feel revitalized and develop a healthy glow. Keep it up and It will become totally blemish free. Oils are perfect moisturizers so do not remove. Lightly wash off excess with water and dab dry with tissues.
Treatment also cured skin hyper sensitivity.
We are always being told that high spf sunscreens are bad for skin. After massaging with oil, apply sunscreen on top of oil. The oil acts as a barrier. Surprisingly it is equally if not more effective. I often spend many hours a day in blistering Mexican sun with just one application of spf 15 and never burn.
OILS: I had great results with olive. Best for some acne prone skins are lavender, rosewood, bergamot. They do not clog, cause breakouts and they lessen skin's production of oils. They are strong and need diluting 25/75 or 50/50 with grapeseed, almond or olive oil.
Many have benefited on Answers from treatment. Here is a report from one of them.
wannabeblue28: "Hi Mukunda M. I have just been rubbing my face and neck with the ridges of my fingers and hands. It has made a HUGE difference in my complexion after just one night. ...... my skin looks so much tighter and i no longer have bags under my eyes! Thank you so much for your post, I have been suffering with acne and under-eye circles since i was young."

What's the difference between sunscreen and SPF? And SPF 30 and SPF 15?

Monica
I was reading up on sunscreen protection and I'm a bit confused. I'm not sure if its because I'm over thinking it or what, but here's what I don't get. What is the difference between sunscreen protection such as brands like banana boat and coppertone to brands like neutrogena and Olay moisturizing skin care lotion with SPF 30 in it? Why can't people just use sunscreen/ sunblock and apply a moisturing lotion over or under it for their skin needs. Isn't SPF already in sunblock as well as UVA and UVB.
Also I'm confused with the whole SPF 15 and SPF 30. Why the different numbers?
I ask cause I want to take better care of my skin now and do prevention.
Can't you wear sunblock even when your not going to the beach or go tanning?
Answer
SPF refers to the ability of a sunscreen to block ultraviolet B (UVB) rays, which cause sunburns, but not UVA rays, which are more closely linked to deeper skin damage. Both UVA and UVB contribute to the risk of skin cancer.
The SPF rating is a measure of the time it would take you to sunburn if you were not wearing sunscreen as opposed to the time it would take with sunscreen on.
"SPF is not a consumer-friendly number," says Florida dermatologist James M. Spencer, MD. "It is logical for someone to think that an SPF of 30 is twice as good as an SPF of 15 and so on. But that is not how it works."
According to Spencer, an SPF 15 product blocks about 94% of UVB rays; an SPF 30 product blocks 97% of UVB rays; and an SPF 45 product blocks about 98% of rays.
