Is there a list of ingredients that I should avoid when purchasing skin care or make-up products, etc?

Labels:

Q. And are parabens really that bad?
I just want to feel safe in the knowledge that what I'm putting on my face will not do me any harm.

Answer
You want ingredients? Go to cosmeticsinfo dot org.

Avoid chemicals as much as you can. There's toxic everywhere we go, everything we eat including fresh fruits & vegetables which are supposed to be good for us? UNHEALTHY FOODS: 10 Dirty Fruits & Vegetables

You want more info, visit the FDA, they have all topics everything under the tree.

Number one is right outside your door. Mr. Sunshine, use your floppy hat or umbrella each time you step outside. Sunscreen sold @ the stores does not protect you from sunburned, cancer, or other skin diseases, or skin tags, moles, freckles. Take the Skin Picture Quiz - Identify These Common Skin Conditions on MedicineNet.

The hair & beauty industry sells a lot of toxic that are killing us, it is a billion dollar business. The hair industry for example they sell products that cleans & condition the hair. They also sell products that damage and causes hair loss. They also DO NOT give money back guarantee for damaged hair or hair loss due to 'abuse'. Mechanical, chemical, or thermal styling. Hair straighteners and relaxers top the hair products pose the greatest risks. Hair relaxers, related products marketed heavily to African-American women, are dangerous because they may contain powerful chemicals such as lye, a toxic substance also used in drain cleaners. The beauty industry sells products that prevents us from getting acne, but the fact is they're just being spread around increasing more acne to develop elsewhere.

Relaxers contain formaldehyde causing cancer. I've talked about it since 2009, and it was recently banned by the FDA in 9-12-11, now they're asking to have warning labels on them.

Don't worry about all that icky stuff. I buy the cheapest shampoo - Garnier for Normal Hair.

It's what you eat, and how you style your hair that will damage your hair or not grow normally.

The FDA believes that in low concentrations (up to 25%) parabens are safe for topical use. Most cosmetics have a concentration of 0.3% paraben or lower. In addition, studies on mice, guinea pigs and humans have shown that parabens do not remain in the body but exit rapidly in your urine (example: âSafety Assessment of Propyl Parabenâ Food and Chemical Toxicology 2001). This means that they are not building up in your system but are moving through and out of your body.

Parabens are known endocrine disrupters that are not only detrimental to human health, but also destructive to animal hormones and development. Studies have found higher levels of parabens in tumors from human breast tissue, but, because the potential damage to the endocrine system has yet to be proven, the controversy surrounding the toxicity of parabens is still being debated.

Even the air we breath is full of toxic. There's no stopping is there? Right after it rains, you just want to get in the shower & start all over again. The gel body wash & toothpaste is made of gel. Gel can harm your nerves.

Today, the FDA have recalled another product. BEEF STEW MIX.

If we believe everything about it, we won't have a life, would we? Anything man-made that's WHAT we need to look out for. But less is best, less product poisoning, as long as we do the right thing, we'll be OK.

Whats a good skin care routine?

:)

I don't wash my face every day because when I do it gets red, dry and irritated. But I want my acne to go away! My face can be oily if I don't wash it, but if I wash it regularly then it gets dry. So I don't know why my skin type is and I don't know what to use for it

The first thing on personal skin care routine is âCleansingâ. The three main ingredients of a cleanser are oil, water and surfactants (wetting agents). Oil and surfactants extract dirt and oil from your skin and water then flushes it out, thus making your skin clean. You might have to try a couple of cleansers before you find the one that suits you the best. However, you should always use soap-free cleansers. Also, you should use Luke warm water for cleansing (hot and cold water, both, cause damage to your skin). Take care that you donât over-cleanse your skin and end up damaging your skin in the process.

The second thing on the personal skin care routine is exfoliation. Skin follows a natural maintenance process wherein it removes the dead cells and replaces them with new skin cells. Exfoliation is just a way to facilitate the skin in this process. Dead skin cells are not capable of responding to personal skin care products but still consume these products, hence preventing them from reaching the new skin cells. Thus removing dead skin cells is important in order to increase the effectiveness of all personal skin care products

Next thing on personal skin care routine is moisturizers. This is one of the most important things in personal skin care. Even people with oily skin need moisturisers. Moisturisers not only seal the moisture in your skin cells, but also attract moisture (from air) whenever needed. Use of too much moisturiser can however clog skin pores and end up harming your skin.

The last thing on personal skin care routine is sunscreen. A lot of moisturizers (day-time creams/moisturisers) come with UV protection â so you can get double benefits from them
