Answer
Please save yourself A LOT of money and bypass those private overpriced for-profit beauty/tech schools such as 'paul mitchell, the school', 'aveda institute', 'toni guy', 'marinello', 'regency' and others. Please instead consider the more affordable County Vo-Tech school (or Community College) as long as the program is accredited within the industry. It might take the cosmetology graduate a couple of years to 'get a book' (of regular customers) before Possibly making a decent salary. Then the person may be struggling to pay for rent, health and car insurance, other expenses while trying to repay all of those student loans. An individual may go to the more Affordable school and then continuing education classes which is usually a requirement anyway :)

These consumer sites have negative posts by former students about those private $$ for-profit beauty/tech schools:

- http://www.complaintsboard.com and can type into search.

For US colleges: http://www.utexas.edu/world/univ

General career info: http://www.bls.gov/oco and can search 'barbers and cosmetologists' or such.

Are any of Madame CJ Walkers beauty products still around?

hair care, facial products

Answer
Can I purchase Madam Walker hair care products?

"The original Madam C. J. Walker Manufacturing Company was in business from 1906 until 1985 when the Walker estate trustees sold the company. Since that time distribution of the products has been limited. Today Madam Walker's legacy in the hair care industry is celebrated in the success of the American Health and Beauty Aids Institute, a consortium of black-owned hair care products manufacturers. Many AHBAI members manufacture products similar to Madam Walker's original line of products. For more information contact www.ahbai.org"
