Answer
My whole life I've been oily and I've tried every possible thing out there. In the long run, there is nothing you can really do to "prevent" oily skin; you're just made that way.

I think it's important to know how your skin works. So first, if you're a girl, this piece of info might be helpful:
"Previous studies have shown that the oil duct opening on the skin was smallest in days 15 - 20 of a 28-day cycle, increased in days 21 - 26, and decreased again in the two days before menstruation. On average, premenstrual acne flares were found to be the worst on day 22 of the average 28-day cycle."

This info tells us that 1) do not count on your complexion to always be perfect, because it goes through changes in a monthly basis, and 2) you look better during certain times of the month--when the pores are smaller and secrete less oil.

Secondly, skin is a live thing, so it reacts to the environment. Friction causes pore enlargement, and this inevitably leads to more oil secretion. Wash your face gently, try not to rest your face on your palm or on dirty clothes, and do not rub. Best yet, try not to touch your face so often, as this stimulates glands.

Another thing to keep in mind: you are what you eat. This doesn't mean that eating greasy food will make your skin oily, like what some people believe; your body breaks down fat, so the fat does not go directly to your skin. What I mean is food that is healthy and easy to digest would engage better circulation and supply nutrients for cell production. You know what this means.

What I find extremely helpful is when I get to exercise and sweat off the oil and the toxin stored in your skin. This is one of the best internal cleansing there is: inside-out waste elimination. Your skin glows after heavy sweating. Going facial is a waste of time and money when you can do so much better yourself; just hit the treadmill.

Lastly, for external care, the common sense is that you avoid extra oil production by not overdrying it. I use Effaclar gel, and it works wells on my skin. Good luck. Be thankful for oily skin; oily skin ages slower, as there's always oil coating the skin from harsh environment.

What order should skin care go in?

Kayla

At night.. I have ponds cold cream, make up cleanser, blemish ointment, and an acne wipe. What order should these go in?
I have dry skin, and frequently get blemishes.

Answer
cleanser(whole foods store), tone (look on michelle phans page for the rice toner)r, blemish ointment (put this on t zone and chin all over these places or where you get the most breakouts because this will help prevent more if needed i got mine form proactive its the step 3) and then put 100% pure aloe on you face all over. My skin was them same but i started doing this everyday and my skin is like clear and mousturized! yay!

These are really cheep two. and try using all natural and organic becuase peopel told be that and i was like yeah rite but i tried it and it work like in the first few days! except for the proactive, it works to prevent breakouts

Omg! yay! luv my skin now!
