Basically more feminine but not pink glitter girly(if you get what I mean) I want to have class and poise and dress like that also. Suggestions on what type of clothes to wear? How my hair and makeup should be? What kind of perfume and shoes I should buy? Assesories? Etc. I just need advice, thanks

Answer
{Clothes}
Figure out what your style is, then shop accordingly for that style. Look around on fashion sites, magazines, and even Google Images to get an idea of what you like. Which trends do you like? Which celeb's style do you admire? What kind of clothes do you like when you see other girls wear it in school? Get inspiration from everywhere.

When I first wanted to create my own style, I knew that I liked edgy, kind of rocker-ish clothes. Stuff like leather jackets, plaid shirts, fishnets, and combat boots is what I loved. I love the style of people like Taylor Momsen. I also went on a lot of street fashion blogs and got ideas from those. All of these I used to fit into what I liked and created a style all of my own. :)

Here's a good article to get you started with creating your style. I always suggest it because it's straight-to-the-point, and it's basically like what I did:

Here's some stores I recommend. You briefly mentioned to wanting to dress more chic and feminine. Well, these stores can have what you're looking for. :)

And if you want to look at some fashion sites:

Magazines I recommend would be Seventeen (if you're young), Marie Claire, Vogue, and Nylon (if you have a more eclectic style).

{Hair}
Really, it is personal choice what you do with it. Me, I'm not really a hair person. I just leave my hair down. I try to keep it in good shape, condition it, and what not.

If you're not like me, try new hairstyles like waterfall braids, halo braids, messy buns, top knot buns, sock buns, and side ponytails. You can get a lot of inspiration for hairstyles on sites like Pinterest. Sometimes they have how-tos for complicated hair styles as well.

If you wanna, check out my Pinterest hair board. Yeah, it's ironic. I don't care much for hair, but I love people with interesting hair lol.

Don't limit yourself to my board, though. Search around on Pinterest, Google images, Tumblr, etc.

{Makeup}
Keep it natural. Some mascara, a little eyeliner, and nude lip looks fresh and great! Of course, if you want to go wild, that's your choice as well.

Again, search around on Pinterest, Google images, and Tumblr. Lots of good makeup ideas on those sites.

I have a Pinterest board for makeup as well. Check it out, if you like. But again, don't limit yourself to just my board. Pinterest is awesome. Go crazy there, and look around. :)

{Perfume, shoes, accessories, etc. etc. etc.}
This is all YOUR personal choice. For example, I personally prefer a sweet, candy or fruity-smelling perfume over a flowery one. I like scents that smell like vanilla, citrus, cotton candy, and coconut. Go to a perfume shop and test a few scents out and see what you like. You can get stuff at Bath and Body Works, Victoria's Secret, or Macy's.

Shoes, same. Choose what you like. If you have a beachy girl style, go for the laid-back shoes, like TOMs, flip flops, and Sperrys. If you have a girly girl style, flip flops, ballet flats and wedges. If you have an edgy style, go for Doc Martens and Converse. It all goes back to what style/trends you like, and who inspires your style.

Accessories, same thing. Personal choice. Go to Forever 21 if you want to get some cheap.

And lastly, most important, be yourself and be confident in your skin. That's a big part on how people will see you. Love who you are, and others will see it and admire you. Want to wear something you don't see too often on other people? Wear it! Don't be afraid to stand out. Also, take care of yourself. Eat right, get plenty of sleep, drink plenty of water, exercise, take care of your skin (exfoliate and moisturize)... All of that good stuff will benefit you in the long run and keep you looking your best. Sit up straight, and walk with your shoulders back. Don't slouch! It makes you look tired and lacking confidence.

That's all of the tips I have. I sincerely hope this helps you out a lot! :D
Sorry that it is looooong lol. Just wanted to be thorough. :]

What Clairol Natural Instincts hair color should I use to achieve natural Asian hair color again?

Frozen M

I have lightened hair from bleaching a year ago and would like to dye my hair back to its original color again. I usually use L'oreal but took interest in the Clairol's Natural Instincts line. I originally planned on buying Natural Instincts Ebony Mocha/Brown-Black but read from reviews that the color was actually darker than what is shown on the box. So, I chickened out because I didn't want my hair turning too dark or black. I have a similar hair color to this celebrity:

What other color from the Natural Instincts line would you recommend to achieve the hair color in the photo? or...What other ammonia-free/semi-permanent color and brand would you recommend?

Thank you in advance!

Answer
Going back to its original color just takes you longer to get there, if you add another layer of hair dye on your hair.

Celebrity wears two-tone hair dye all the time, trying to grow out their dye. They call that the ombre style.

Style meets chemistry meets biology: We're talking hair coloring.

Playing with chemicals is not like playing with clothes, or doing a manicure, there are penalties for playing chemicals in the lab. Even hair color experts at the salon are not rocket scientists, they do a bang up dye jobs to their clients or their own hair.

Chemicals can enter the body through the skin.

London, Feb 20, 2013 I've been saying that since 2009.
Hair dyes, which include home hair colouring kits and those used at pricey salons, are linked to deadly cancer-causing chemicals, warn scientists. In 2009 the Mail revealed that women who used hair dyes more than nine times a year had a 60% greater risk of contracting blood cancer.
A year later the European Commission banned 22 hair dyes which put long-term users at risk of bladder cancer. < < < <â¨

The allergic reaction was caused by a well-known brand of semi-permanent hair dye Chloe used to turn her hair black for a Halloweâen party. . . . . called for beauty bosses to ban hair dye chemical PPD (para-phenylenediamine) from the shelves. 11-04-11

The chemical is not new and is present in a number of brands of dark hair colours, acting to help adhere the dye to the hair so that it doesn't wash out. Itâs made from coal tar and is used in both permanent and semi-permanent hair colours. Itâs well-known to be a cause of serious allergic reactions -- including something called contact dermatitis which can lead to rashes, blisters, and open sores.
PPD is sometimes added to black henna tattoos and that using them is not safe. Allergic reactions usually begin within two to 10 days following application. One bad reaction can lead to sensitivities to other products such as hair dye, sunblock and some types of clothing dyes. Oftentimes, it's using the product a second or third time.

Skin specialist Najjia Ashraf reveals that there are barely any dyes that donât contain this toxin; even the ones who claim they donât, are not being honest. âBig brands often escape the blame by suggesting they are ammonia-free. However, ammonia and PPD are two very different things and PPD is present in nearly every dye because it is what gives off the colour,â she explains.

Google: A 38-year old mother left in a coma after using hair dye. SHE DYED HER HAIR MANY TIMES BEFORE, USING THE SAME BRAND. The British woman who went into coma after a reaction to hair dye has died after a year. Updated 11-25-12. The woman suffered a heart failure, struggled for breath and became unconsciousness. Her family blamed paraphenylenediamine, a chemical found in hair colour. Her family has now called for paraphenylenediamine to be banned from home dye kits. In 2000, a 38-year-old Indian-origin woman from Birmingham, Narinder Devi, died after an allergic reaction to hair dye.

Permanent black hair dye is linked to causing leukemia and lymphomas.
