skin care hawaii
Q. I have acne and dull skin, im interested in using organic products no products that have peroxide etc help just irritates my skin. What do u think about Jurlique and Kora Organics by Miranda Kerr? Which one is better product?
Answer
Neither.
Check expiration date, I bought KORA in Hawaii, when I got home they were expired months in 2009.
In the beauty industry, there is no industry-agreed meaning for terms like 'organic' or 'natural'. Unlike the food industry, these terms are not regulated for cosmetics which means companies can use these terms pretty freely.
Also, products like shampoo, conditioner and body wash are mostly made of water so therefore are mostly natural (because water is natural, right?). So if a shampoo is 90% water, then a company can simply claim "90% organic or natural" and be telling the truth. Certainly, this isn't in the spirit of what people believe organic to mean, but it is within the law.
Don't believe the hype: "For skin care products, 'organic is not enough,. Some organic products are fabulous, and some are not." ~ Dr. Lisa Chipps , M.D. specializes in removing skin cancer & repairing the resultant wound (laser therapy whiz) in Rodeo Drive.
"Organic skin care products are trendy, but that does not mean nonorganic ones are dangerous," Wendy E. Roberts, M.D. past president of the Women's Dermatologic Society.

Japanese secret skin care ? HELP?
asiank
I went to hawaii, i saw every single female Japanese there have flawless skin, poreless , even out skin tone, natural pink blush, they are so pretty, does anyone know what japanese secret skincare they use, help me please..., any idea what to do to have their skin like that?
Answer
I'm half Japanese and have always been asked since moving to North America why my skin is so flawless. I lived in Japan until I graduated high school and grew up with a Japanese diet. I always drank A LOT of water and ate healthy foods (fish, rice, soy, seaweed, etc). Seaweed was something I ate everyday, whether it be in miso soup or sprinkled on rice...I still munch on dry seaweed as a snack.
Well, it seems that seaweed is a pretty huge factor in having great skin. Just look up "Phytessence Wakame" and see what type of articles show up. You'll find a lot of interesting articles regarding seaweed and how it contributes to great skin.
I don't have a specific skin care regime, but just try to drink lots of water, eat less fatty foods, and eat a bit of seaweed every day and see if that helps. Not only will it be healthier for you but your skin may improve as well :) Hope it works for you!
