Facial skin issues, possibly allergic?

Labels:

So as a general rule I've usually had pretty good skin with the exception of a few pimples. More recently within the past two months I've been having bad breakouts, and taken on a skin care routine to try and calm the pimples down. The larger more noticeable ones are now almost completely gone, but now in place of smooth skin and a few pimples, I am having very rough skin and tiny little bumps. They are hardly noticeable to anyone but myself, but I feel very uncomfortable touching my face anymore and it makes me upset.

About two weeks ago I took on a facial care routine that consisted of Aveeno Skin clarifying cleanser, a toner made of eight parts water and one part apple cider vinegar (i read it would work very well!) and loreal refinish moisturizer+clinique dramatically different moisturizer.
In addition, my hands have also become very dry and flaky.
As far as I know, I am not allergic to anything, but could this be a possibility?
Could my toner be the problem? I have also heard less then glowing reviews from clinique, and after abandoning their facial soap and toner I am concerned that the moisterizer could be a problem?
Are there any foods I should try cutting out of my diet? Or any recomendations as to products I could try (nothing to exspensive please! I really prefer homemade/natural products!)
Should I just stick it out? I've read that sometimes it takes time for certain products to pull dirt out of your skin and as a result you get pimples but if you wait it out it goes away?

My skin just feels horrible! It reminds me of people with oily skin who have had severe acne!
Thank you so much for all of your help!

Answer
It might be your moisturizer if it has any scents in it then it could be irritating your skin. I really like Eucerin skin creams. I use vinegar to clean my skin to but another idea is to make a beverage with it twice a day that will help clear any allergens in your body, or try a rice water toner. Here is links for articles on both.

my freind bleaches her skin please help me!!!?

simon

hi.. ok so.. recently ive noticed my freind natalie (who is a mixed girl ) has somewhat reddish looking skin... when i asked her she said she got a sunburn from a pool party so ... i said ok...but when we were spending the evening at her brother's apartment..i saw her using something that had 'skin bleaching cream' on it... i asked her and we talked about it and she says she's been doing it for a while and she even cried. i felt so sorry for her. she says she doenst like her skin and feels it is too dark. but she isnt even black or anything, she's tan-like.. i researched it and it said that those things cause skin cancer and what not and i read about something called " ochronosis" where the skin gets darker than before and thats what i used to discourage her from doing it!! but she's barely even listening to me and im so scared for her.. she said shes doing it for almost a year now, and im shocked cause i had no clue before. i feel so stupid. anyway is it too late for her? is her skin damaged?? she just looks reddish and not like the pics i saw online but i am so worried she may have skin cancer or something and not know god please someone advise me on what to do.... i really care about her she is like my sister.. sorry its so long i just care about her.. i will give 10 points

She probably doesn't have skin cancer now, I think it's more of a thing that hits you later in life, not in the moment. It is a really stupid thing to do though, most things dealing with trying to change your skin color are. So if you've already talked to her and she didn't really seem to bother doing anything about it, I think you should really try again, and of course in person. Just try telling her again how serious it is, and how badly it could affect her health. Make sure she knows how serious you are about it for her. You might want to try saying to her in a friendly way to that it's only making her red skin, so would she rather be really red or a tad bit on the dark side? Just make sure she knows how serious you are, maybe show her some research you found on the topic. Hope this helps :)
