Q. I'm looking for a new skin care regimen for my acne. I'm planning on going to the dermatologist in several months but I just want to know what brands doctors like and what brands they say to stay away from. Price is not really an issue so feel free to name any product.
Answer
When I have been, they have recommended Cetaphil but I don't remember it working that great for me. But here are ones that did---
Here are some good acne kits that you can buy at the drugstore (if you can't I listed where they are sold). I have used all of them in the past and can recommend them. They are usually around $15-25 and usually last for a month or so. A lot of times if you go on the brand's website there is a $5 off coupon.
1. Clean and Clear ADVANTAGE® Acne Control Kit-$19.99

2. Neutrogena-Complete Acne Therapy System-$19.99

3. Pro Activ-you can order online or go to a little stand that they have in a lot of malls to buy it $29.95
http://www.proactiv.com/order/select.php
4. Clinique Acne Solutions Clear Skin System Starter Kit-$32.50
http://www.clinique.com/product/CATEGORY4913/PROD11813/Skin_Care/Acne/index.tmpl
It is more expensive but a lot of the times you can get a gift with purchase (you get around $60 worth of free products-some full sized and some samples-here is a link to one)

5. Murad Live Clearâ¢. Acne Complex® Starter Kit-$33

Hope this helps!

What is the difference between skin care and cosmetics, can they be categorized together?
Q. I wanna know if i can say that skin care products are the same as cosmetic products.
Answer
Cosmetics are more of a "cosmetic" approach to Beauty. Like making whats already their naturally, look even better.
Skin Care is the treatment of what is already given to us naturally, our skin, an then making it healthier.
Usually cosmetics has nothing to do with skin care but more with Beauty. So you'll generally find skin care in a different category than cosmetics.
