I don't really wear makeup. Almost never. But I know I don't take proper care of my skin. I'm youngish still, 22. What should a basic daily skin care routine look like? Wash, moisturizer, toner??? Any advice on routine and products is more then welcome :)
Answer
Morning:
1.) gentle foaming cleanser
Purpose gentle foaming gel cleanser and is for sensitive skin and removes makeup
2.) alcohol free toner
Swanson Tea Tree Oil Toner. It is 99% natural (toner is optional, but I use it to restore ph balance of my skin and control my oily skin. Never use a toner with alcohol because it is irritating and drying!
3.) natural oil free moisturizer
Try Pristine Brallywood Butta Intensive Creme. This is an all natural lotion and it is awesome. CHECK THIS ONE OUT ONLINE! YOU WONT REGRET IT! > <
4.) natural mineral sunblock
Try Jason Natural Mineral Sunblock $6.89 at swansonvitamins.com and retail price is $13. Works for sensitive skin) Avoid sunscreen with oxybenzone(hormone imbalance) and retinol(wrinkles). Use avobenzone, titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, and antioxidants.
Night: gentle foaming cleanser
1.)alcohol free toner
2.)Serum (Jeune D' Age Organics Hydrating, Firming Anti-Aging Serum. OMG BEST NATURAL SERUM EVER! $30 for one month supply. contains 30 packs.)
3.) Use same moisturizer as you use in the day time. Make sure it doesn't contain Spf!

I'm literally so confused with what to do on the whole skin care section. I have oily skin and I'm barely starting to get products to take care of my face. What I wanna know is what I need to have (cleansers, toners, moisturizers, etc) And what really helps to keep the face clear of acne blah blah I'm new at this so YEAH LOL
Answer
I will try to keep it basic. Eveyone's skin is different. Just having oily skin is a vague description. I can't give you the most detailed answer because your skin can be completely different from mine or anyone elses. Certain products could give negative results, it all depends. For the most part, finding the right products for yourself is having to go through trial and error personally. You need to know how your skin works. Whether it's completely oily or combination oily. Skin care has so much in depth information that it can be a little confusing. If you're completely unsure either have a consultation with your dermatologist or set up an actual exam. The only thing I can help you with is some recommendations. I have combination/oily skin type. Meaning I have an oily T-zone and normal cheeks. I've set up an morning to night routine for myself. I also use different products depending on what season of the year it is. I'm going to state my CURRENT skincare products for summertime. But I'll try to keep it simple and basic.
The first step is always cleansing the skin. It is also the most important. There's nothing really to say about cleansing other than it cleans the skin (pretty obvious). I use two different cleansers for morning and night. For the morning I cleanse with Cetaphil Daily Cleanser for normal to oily skin. At night I use Aveeno Clear Compexion Foaming Cleanser. I rinse with cold water to tighten my pores. It prevents any bacteria entering your pores after cleaning them.
The second thing I do is go over with toner. For me toner is used to get rid of any excess soap or dirt from my pores. I only use toners during the summer time or when I am just lazy. At the moment I am using Dickinson's Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner. This toner also helps with any acne spots. Since the main ingredient is 'Witch Hazel' it is used as a natural astringent. This will also help shrink and constrict any remaining open pores.
After I use any treatments at this time. Such as acne spot treatments or anything similar. It can include Salicylic Acid or Benzoyl Peroxide. I use a cotton swab and gentle apply to any spots. If I don't have any I will just skip to the next step.
The next step is Eye Cream. Eye Cream is great for all ages to include in their skincare. Either if you're looking for anti-aging properties, moisture renew, or even aging prevention. You can use any eye cream that will help with what you need to focus on. Personally, I suffer from dark circles since I am always up late at night on my computer (right now). So I use ROC's Retinol Correxion Eye Cream. This helps visibly reduce dark circles, puffiness, crow's feet, and any wrinkles around the eye area. So I also get some added benefits as well.
The next and last thing I do is moisturize my skin. I use Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel all over my face. This basically just gives me moisture... that's it.
Even if you're skin is oily it's best to still moisturize because your skin will naturally create more oil to make up for the lack of moisture. Hope this helps and wasn't as confusing.
