I was wondering if anyone had some G-R-E-A-T skin care tips. I have LIGHT skin and I really want to get darker WITHOUT looking orange, OR getting burnt. How can you get raid of that annoying dry skin??? and breakoutz? What are some good skin care lines I could buy??? and is it true that if you take a bath in milk it's good for u???

Before I say anything.. let me just point out that no matter how hard you work at the gym and no matter how long you stay at the gym, it will get you NO WHERE unless you stick to a healthy diet plan. You can do 1,000 crunches a day for all I care, trust me it won't do anything; you first need to remove the layer of fat that's hiding your muscles.
If you want to lose ANY amount of weight, you shouldn't eat any man-made/ processed foods (like dessert, fast foods, fried foods, etc.) This is not the end of the world.. in fact, you will actually start to feel a lot more energetic and feel lighter. Trust me, once you start, you will not WANT to go back to your old ways, since eating healthy and organically will improve your skin, mood, energy, confidence, and will tone your body. If you crave sugars and carbohydates, let them be derived from fruits and vegetables. You also want to eat protein foods for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (like egg whites, nuts, chicken, fish, etc.) Try to make breakfast your largest meal since it will not make you crave foods later on during the day. Also make sure to drink plenty of water.
Once you reach your goal weight, THEN you can slowly and moderately start introducing a slice of cake here and there. But remember, not two or three slices of cake, but ONE serving size or smaller. At first, you will count down the days until you can eat "normally" again... but as I said before.. turns out you won't want to put the unneccessary crap in your body.

Now that we have the diet out of the way, and pointed out its significant importance, we can move on to the workout plan. Do strength training 2-3 times a week, not everyday since your muscles need time to heal. You can do upper body on Monday, abs on Wednesday, and legs on Friday. And don't forget... cardio cardio cardio! You can do any type of cardio for 30-45 min a day 5-6 times a week.

From my personal experience, do NOT stare at yourself in the mirror looking for results the day after you begin! Results will come from inside first.. then they will start to become visible. Set a LONG-term goal, like say next summer.... because if you set it until let's say next month for a wedding, the pressure will be on and you won't do as great as you want to. Try not to screw up, but if you have your slips here and there, just remember that tomorrow's a brand, new day and you can start where you left off. Good luck!

How to get 6 pack abs possibly without equipment?

ok i am 5'4 150 lbs. i'm willing to workout and motivated to keep doing it. what are good exercises and what should i eat. when do you think i will start seeing results (just to know if i am going towards the right direction). so i really need to lose weight to be fit for h.s. basketball..........btw i play basketball and do taekwondo.

Ok should i get a 3 step skin care "system". Or just a good cleanser and something to use as spot treatment. And Which stuff? What should i use???

I highly suggest three step systems.

cleansers are often very drying to the skin and remove natural oils your skin needs.
toners remove excess cleanser residue, left over dirt in the pores and restores the pH balance in the skin instantly (it takes about 30 minutes without a toner.)
moisturizers are essential. don't ever skip this step. .. EVER.

Pimples can form if your skin is dehydrated (which also can be why your skin is oily). If your skin is dehydrated it will overproduce oil and clog the pores. The best regimen for healthy and hopefully clear skin:
1. Wash with a gentle cleanser (don't overwash though)
2. Tone with a moisturizing and alcohol free toner.
3. Moisturize with a product that is either oil free or non-cosmodegenic with a SPF.
4. Exfoliate 2 or so times a week.

My regimen:
1. Proactiv solution in the evening when my breakouts are more intense. (but doesn't work very well on small whiteheads or blackheads)

OR

1. Origins Get Down Deep Pore Clay Cleanser (really good for white heads! got rid of the small bumps on my face in about a week. clay cleansers or masks are really good for the skin, but can be slightly drying if it's a cleanser)
2. Origins A Perfect World Toner. this is an alcohol free toner that has white tea in it which is great for hydrating the skin and preventing environmental damage.
3. Clinique dramatically different moisturizing GEL. I use the gel even though I have dry skin because it is oil free.
4. 10% Benzoyl Peroxide as a spot treatment. This you can get from target but it might be more expensive. I get mine from Kaiser Permanente for about 5 dollars, and it's not a prescription. It's very drying so use it in small amounts or just continuously moisturize when it's flakey. I apply this three times a day on the problem area, my acne goes away in a couple days.

Recommended Drug Store Products:
1. St. Ives Apricot Scrub (I use gentle)
2. Nivea Moisturizing Toner
3. Oil free or Non-cosmodegenic moisturizer with SPF. (Neutrogena / Dove / Cetaphil / Garnier )

Exfoliate with an electric toothbrush (like a crest one -- even if that sounds weird) VERY GENTLY across your face with an exfoliating scrub. I do this with L'Oreal Men's expert anti-roughness scrub.

Everyone's skin is different. Whatever you do, don't freak out and rotate your products like crazy. I've done that and it damaged my skin.

I know for a fact that women obsess about stretch marks a lot more than guys do.

I worked security at a strip club for a while, and I would say that MOST dancers I've seen have stretch marks to some degree...that said, even those who have quite visible marks did not earn less than those that weren't quite as visible.

My advice...don't sweat them.

By God's Grace none in our family is starting Chemo now. But we had enough and have the experience. To educate you I give below how to prepare for Chemotherapy -

Before You Begin Chemo for Breast Cancer-

Your life, with all its joy, complications, and small annoyances, will go on regardless of your chemotherapy treatments. But it's a good idea to take care of a few detailsâmedical and personalâbefore you get started.

Get a complete dental checkup and cleaning. The risk of infection is greater during chemotherapy, so you'll want to take care of your teeth before you begin. If your doctor requests any heart studies (like an echocardiogram), get those, too.

Chemotherapy can also make your Pap smear (the screening test for cervical cancer) abnormal. See if your doctor will do your Pap smear before you start chemotherapy. The last thing you need when you've gone through treatment for breast cancer is another abnormal test result!

With few exceptions, chemotherapy will cause your hair to fall out, a condition called alopecia. Some medications cause partial hair loss, and some cause complete hair loss. To prepare for hair loss, read about wigs, turbans, hats, scarves, or just going bald in our Hair, Skin, and Nails section.

Make arrangements for extra help around the houseâcleaning, car pooling, and grocery shopping can be delegated to others for a while.

Talk to your family and friends, and help prepare them for your treatment.

Find a support group. Your oncology nurse can help you. Be sure to check out the Community Knowledge Exchange on breastcancer.org to connect with others dealing with the same issues. No chemo hair loss? is it possible?

My mother has been claiming she has some mysterious life threatening disease for years now, but she has never made it clear what she has. She has a giant cocktail of prescriptions that she takes that she never talks about what they're for. Recently she's been claiming she's been undergoing chemo for 4-5 months but she's hasn't lost ANY HAIR (She has waist length hair also).

Is it possible to not loose any hair during chemo?

This may be the one lie that we can use to get her to admit she's faking it.

I'm not going to comment on whether there is a faked illness here ... I'll just stick to the chemo hair loss question. I was treated with 8 months worth of ABVD (Adriamycin, Bleomycin, Vinblastine, & Dacarbazine) chemotherapy for Hodgkin's Disease and I finished treatment with enough hair to pull back into a ponytail. Other Hodgkin's patients lose every bit of hair they have with ABVD.

(By the way, I've been in remission for over a year. I had stage IV disease at diagnosis and if ABVD didn't work, I wouldn't be here typing this right now.)

Some chemo regimens will cause nearly 100% hair loss. Others rarely cause hair loss. Some others are like ABVD and commonly cause hair loss in most people, but some people only get some thinning like I did.

You can look up drugs and learn whether hair loss is a common side effect. For example, it is a common side effect with Adriamycin. It is not as common a side effect with say Gemzar.

I have normal skin that doesn't break out a lot, but I need an easy skin care regiment that I can afford. (I am a college student.) I have fair skin and red hair. I don't always have time to do something detailed because I am an education student and I have no time in the morning and I usually crash at night, and don't take a lot of time to "prepare" for bed except brush my teeth.

Alright, well some easy ways to keep your skin clear and clean are to make sure your hair isn't touching your face. Pin back your bangs if you have them when you don't need them (if you're at home, this is a good opportunity). Wash your face in the shower with a gentle cleaner, and buy a moisturizer. Dry flaky skin is not as fun as it sounds. Also, try not to touch your face with your hands, it'll help to not spread dirt and oil. If you do break out or need a little help, I find Clearasil products both inexpensive, convenient, and they work great. Good luck!

Q. I just discovered there are skin care specialists. I want that to be my job. As well as writing a book. It makes sense, to me, anyway. I love makeup and beauty and stuff, I'm always looking for new skin care treatments (Tip: Take a squirt bottle of green tea, spray your face when you when up and when you go to bed. Thank me later) and it interests me. I don't know if this is normal for 13 year olds, but I can never imagine myself in a "normal" job. They just don't interest me. But beauty? Love it. S, what are all the careers that have to do with that that you can think of?

There are several beauty related jobs.

Beauty Advisor:
A beauty advisor is someone who learns a lines specific products ( mac, clarins, clinique, etc) and teaches people how to apply those products, helps them find the best products for their skin type, and sell them the product. You are responsible for sales goals and reaching sales quotas. This is a good money making job if you don't mind retail hours and are good at sales. Beauty advisors are not makeup artists because they lack professional training, you are trained by the brand only to do makeup and skincare their way to sell more product.

Esthetician:
Estheticians are licensed skincare professionals. To become an Esthetician you go to cosmetology school and take their esthetics track. (fyi estheticians do skincare, cosmetologists do hair). The hours you must have varies by state. It can be anywhere form 400 to 1200 hours. This career path has you working in spas giving facials, waxing, eyebrow shaping, and doing body treatments. If you are more into skincare then makeup then this is the career path for you.

Para-Medical Esthetician:
This is an advanced level esthetician. You must first be licensed by your state as an esthetician then you can go for additional schooling to perform more advanced skincare like high level chemical peels, laser facials, laser hair removal, and anything else new at the time that is considered more advanced. These estheticians usually work in med spas under the guidance of a dermatologist. You work more with plastic surgery patients (giving them lymphatic drainage massage after surgeries, or helping them heal their skin) and patients who want dramatic anti-aging or skin correcting results. If you are interested in the medical side of skincare but don't want to commit to being a dermatologist then this is a great career path.

Dermatologist:
This is a specific skin doctor. You must be a licensed doctor who then specializes in skin in med school. These doctors cover anything from anti-aging to skin diseases and skin cancers. Dermatologist are typically the ones with enough medical background in skin to write books on skin and are the ones who really set the tone for the skincare industry since most skincare must be dermatologist tested or approved. This one requires a large commitment in the schooling area. It takes anywhere from 8-9 years of college to get this degree but in the beauty industry this is the highest paying job for those interested in skincare.

Professional Makeup Artist:
Professional Makeup Artist deal with skin in the aspect that they must know the basics of skin to know how to cover and deal with skin issues when working professionally but other than that their specialty is really the art of makeup. Makeup artists attend professional makeup schools such as MUD in Los Angeles, or Complections in Canada. You work on anything from movie sets to runways to weddings. If you are artistic and love color, people, and all things makeup then this is a good career path.

Things to remember with your schooling so you don't waste valuable education time:
Dermatologists go to Med school
Estheticians go to cosmetology schools
Para medical estheticians go to cosmetology schools then sign up for additional advanced level classes after graduation to receive their Para Medical certification.
Beauty Advisors are trained by the makeup counter and do not attend schooling.
Makeup artists attend makeup school (not cosmetology schools because they usually only teach a day or a week of makeup courses by non professional artists )
Cosmetologists do hair and attend Cosmetology schools as well.

Your use of heightened vocabulary ("harkened", "lurch", "stamina", etc.) contrasts oddly with the rest of the poem's vocabulary. With this rhyme scheme, I would recommend that you heighten the rest of the vocabulary to improve the epic feel of the poem.

Also, avoid contractions in poetry that contains heightened vocabulary. The syntax begs for more formal language.

All in all, very good use of rhyme and I really enjoyed the terseness of each line. Your imagery is good and I would like you to use more!

Get ready, makeup -and its vocabulary, tools, etc.- is another diverse universe of its own, I hope I can be the slightest of help, love. :)

Powder: Powders are used to hold concealers and foundations on, which are inclined to mess themselves up in the slightest gesture. For example, after you apply a concealer under your eyes, it is quite smart to press some darker colored powder on to hold the concealer together. For normal skin, use powder where you need it, which is generally forehead, nose and chin, the 'T-Zone'. However, if you have oily skin, you must apply powder everywhere on your face to make sure your makeup does not go off.

Concealer: It's name pretty much speaks for it, concealers conceal. Most common uses of concealers is to lighten those dark-purple, dreaded circles in your eye. Concealers have creamy texture because they must blend into the skin perfectly. It is very important to always use a brighter-yellow shaded concealer than your skin tone if trying to hide dark tones, because it creates brightening effect.

(P.S for concealers: There are concealers to hide everything, from under-eye circles to pimples, to broken veins. To hide red patches, green and blue concealers are used instead. Purple tinted concealers make unnaturally-yellow faces rosy.)

Primer: No, no and no, primer's not just an option. Primer literally turns the face into a perfect 'canvas' for makeup application. Your face is full of fine lines and pores which would even more defined if foundation was applied first. They generally consist of waxes and special polymers that not only hydrate your skin but can make your makeup dissolve better and stay longer on you. Sephora's Smooting Primer is a great one.

Bronzer: Bronzers are for giving you a bronze complexion, and they are usually formed of more than one colors to imitate the true loveliness of sun bronzing that shout fresh, beautiful and healthy.

Lipstick: Applying a lipstick may sound easy to the ear, but when applying a strong color, such as a vibrant red, you must use a special lipstick brush to apply it good enough. Never ever use a lipstick on chapped lips, always moisturize and care for your lips by gentle exfolation followed by generous amount of lip balms. Dior's 'Serum de Rouge' is my absolute favorite for lip care.

You should also know about foundations and tinted moisturizers, I believe.
Foundation evens out the skin's tone and texture. The goal of applying foundation is to achieve smooth and clear skin, and the color perfect for you must dissolve right into your skin, the wrong shade will change to color of your face and make a disaster. Use it on your forehead before buying a foundation: if it works on your forehead, it can work pretty much everywhere else.

Tinted moisturizer is also kind of a foundation, but is more innocent and natural. They usually come with SPF and they hydrate your skin, which makes it an on-the-go favorite. Clinique makes great tinted moisturizers.

Threading is the newest trend, cost $15 @ the mall.

NO MATTER which hair removal you used, as long as your hair continues to grow, you'll be doing that for the rest of your life. None is easier or faster, or PERMANENT.

If done incorrectly, the hairs can break. If hair is broken from an inexperienced threading professional, hair re-growth will show up much quicker.

The discomfort is similar to tweezing, but the process is much, much quicker. Some people say they have very little pain from threading, but it has a lot to do with the skill of the technician. Use a warm compress to relax the hair follicle for an easier exit, and apply a numbing spray prior to service if you have a low tolerance to any discomfort.

The chemical is not new and is present in a number of brands of dark hair colours, acting to help adhere the dye to the hair so that it doesn't wash out. Itâs made from coal tar and is used in both permanent and semi-permanent hair colours. Itâs well-known to be a cause of serious allergic reactionsÂ -- including something called contact dermatitis which can lead to rashes, blisters, and open sores.
PPD is sometimes added to black henna tattoos and that using them is not safe. Allergic reactions usually begin within two to 10 days following application. One bad reaction can lead to sensitivities to other products such as hair dye, sunblock and some types of clothing dyes. Oftentimes, it's using the product a second or third time. Skin specialist Najjia Ashraf reveals that there are barely any dyes that donât contain this toxin; even the ones who claim they donât, are not being honest. âBig brands often escape the blame by suggesting they are ammonia-free. However, ammonia and PPD are two very different things and PPD is present in nearly every dye because it is what gives off the colour,â she explains.

I was around four years old. I lived with my grandmother and my late grandfather. My cousins Benny and Joey were coming to my house, so I was restlessly waiting. They were the people with whom I spent most of my life. We were the best of friends, and they were coming at 8:00 AM so that we could go swimming in the backyard. When they finally arrived, I was ecstatic. I anxiously waited for Benny and Joey to get their floaters on. Benny was always very jumpy, shaking his hands, talking to himself, and I loved him. He wasn't like anybody I had ever met, but my innocence didn't make anything of it. Benny had gone running around the house and so I started playing with Joey.
We were busy having a screaming contest, and all of a sudden we heard the most satisfying words any four-year old could hear, "Go get Benny and you can go into the pool," my aunt said with a smile. We ran to go get Benny with more excitement than you could imagine. He wasn't in the living room, the bedroom, or the kitchen. We grew more anxious. We just wanted to jump into the pool. We called for him a few times, but there was no answer. We came across the bathroom door, and it was closed with a light on. We called in there, but no answer came back. We opened the door but he wasn't there. We informed our aunt that we couldn't find him, and that we just wanted to go swimming. At the sound of hearing that her son was missing, she frantically screamed his name. She ran left and right, but Joey and I thought that she was screaming so frantically just because she knew we wanted to get into the pool. She literally started to run, so fast, that we realized that she probably didn't care that much about us going into the pool anymore. Then it dawned on us that there was something wrong. We searched for Benny everywhere. I went to my bedroom and searched everywhere for him. He wasn't under the bed or in my closet. He was nowhere to be found.
At the tender age of 4, I didn't really think that much could happen to him, but all the tension in the house made me realize something grave may have taken place. All of a sudden, the doorbell rang. I breathed a sigh of relief, Benny had come home. I ran to the door demanding an explanation, except when I got to the door, it wasn't Benny. Actually, it was who I least expected it to be, a police officer. He asked me if any adults were home, so I told him that they were very busy looking for- my grandma rushed to the door and lead him to the backyard. I followed by in curiosity. On the sidewalk next to the pool, I witnessed something I didn't understand at the time. My cousin Benny was sleeping, face up, next to the pool, his mother yelling to him, and patting his face. She was pushing his chest up and down. My cousin Joey and I were standing next to each other. I remember looking at his face, plainly staring at his brother's ordeal. Moments later, EMT rushed in and starting pumping his chest. I noticed Benny's skin was as blue as the water. My grandmother then abruptly took Joey and me into the house and upstairs, where I was filled with questions. I saw an ambulance pull out of the driveway with Benny in it. My Grandmother would attempt to decipher the hysteria to us in her broken accent. I was frightened. What was going to be a day in the pool, turned out to be a day of confusion and heartache. I didn't know what to think, but over and over again, I heard the sentence "He will be alright." A couple days later, Benny came home with a Cookie Monster sticker. I was overjoyed and relieved when I saw him. It was then when I realized that autism was a real problem that Benny had to cope with.
Since then, I have been very sympathetic to the mentally challenged. A few years ago, my best friend introduced me to a camp that his brother attended. His brother, too, had autism. The name of this camp was Camp R.O.B.I.N. My friend Sami and I have spent many great days volunteering at this camp. I love watching these children discover things through experiments that they do at camp. The camp also takes the kids to places like PETCO. They all get so excited when they see even the simplest of things. One boy saw a clown fish, and he screamed "Nemo!" All the kids watch the fish in amazement. I think more people should be as simple as these children because they notice things that most people take for granted, and they are so much happier for it.
I'll never forget the looks on their faces during the talent show. They practiced dance routines throughout the entire summer, and on the last day of camp, they headed to the high school and performed their dances. At the end, all the parents clapped for them, and

Over 30 skin care routine?

I need a skin care routine that deals with combination skin over 30, more prominent wrinkles around the eyes and mouth, and quite a few blackheads on the nose. A step-by-step routine with product suggestions would be appreciated!

Combination skin can be tricky and one of the best ways of dealing with it is to use the method which the German skin guru Dr Hauschka advises. It's very simple, effective and cost efficient: only moisturise your skin during the day and leave your skin bare of any products at night. By leaving off your skin cream, the skin will produce its own natural moisture and in so doing, balance your skin better. It may take a couple of weeks for you to see a difference and any dry areas may feel a little tight to begin with but persevere and eventually, you'll find that your skin balances out better.

Because you won't be moisturising at night, you can be generous during the day. For combination skin, I recommend you use Mir products which are rich in anti-ageing ingredients but light on the skin and non-comedogenic (which means they won't clog your pores or aggravate your blackheads). Part of the product line is argan oil but don't be alarmed, this is not a greasy or clogging product, it goes on silky smooth and your skin will absorb it easily. Everyone I've recommended it to raves about it and has seen a difference in their skin in a matter of weeks. You simply mix a drop or two into Mir moisturising cream. Alternatively, try the Mir Skin Silk lotion which already contains argan oil so it's been pre-mixed for you.

Eye creams are a con - a way for cosmetics companies to sell more products so don't waste your money. But you do need an ultra gentle, high quality product that will not cause your eyes to puff up - which is usually a reaction to the chemicals in skin creams or eye products. Mir skin products are so gentle that they double up as eye creams so you can use a single product over your whole face.

Cleansing is of vital importance and there is a beauty secret to achieving perfectly clean skin, free of blackheads but without drying it or stripping it. Toner is not necessary if you cleanse correctly but if you want to use one, Mir do a good toner for combination skin which contains natural rose water - this is a gentle but effective astringent for combination skin but won't dry the skin out. Caudalie do a very nice toner for sensitive skin too (which you can use to remove eye make-up gently) but if you use a microfibre cloth, you won't need toner or an exfoliating product as the cloth will do all that for you and will help balance your combination skin. Exfolation is very important, especially in clogged areas (where you have blackheads). A micro fibre cloth will exfoliate your skin like nothing else and will do it ultra gently without any risk of damaging the skin.

Finally, to prevent further wrinkles, wear a high sunblock every single day. SPF 15 in winter and SPF 30 in summer. And don't forget to pat it around your eyes to stop any further crows feet. 85% of skin ageing is caused by the sun so an SPF is your skin's best friend. They can clog pores so only use mineral powder (the best is Jane Iredale and she does a mineral sunblock, you'll find sources for Jane Iredale products on my blog) or try the Australian brand Invisible Zinc, as recommended by Elle Macpherson, Jerry Hall and Georgia May Jagger.

I don't sell anything, these are simply my own recommendations based on experience. I'm almost 44 and I don't have a single line or wrinkle on my face so trust me, my method works!

I have horribly oily skin, and i have to wash my face AT LEAST 3x per day. My skin (in terms of pimples) is not THAT bad but its been a while since it's been completely pimple free. It always seems like when one is going away I get another one. Are there any creams, ointments or even vitamins that I could use, that have worked well for someone you know? I've gone on accutane 5 years ago (taking the lowest dosage 1x day) and because the sideaffects are bad I'd rather not take it but if that looks like my only option then I will do it. Anyone have some suggestions?

Skin-care products made out of sake, soy milk, natto (fermented soybeans), and other common Japanese fare are now all the rage. Their popularity is thought to be an outgrowth of heightened public interest in healthy living. Facial cleansers and other skin-care products have become a focus of particular attention because they are applied directly to the skin. The trend is also being fueled by the ready availability of these goods at neighborhood drugstores and over the Internet and by their low cost.
Natural Moisturizers
In Japan, it has long been said that The hands of sake brewers who handle rice bran every day are white and youthful, so the beautifying effects of this part of a rice grain are common knowledge. Even before the present trend took shape, some Japanese washed themselves with a bath mitt filled with rice bran or poured a bit of sake into their bath water in place of bath salts or powders.

Rice bran, which is the outer part of the grain, is rich in vitamins and minerals but is removed when brown rice is milled. A huge amount of bran is generated in the process of manufacturing sake. Over the past few months, one sake maker after another has entered the skin-care market, intent on making use of this valuable byproduct by creating its own line of goods.

The trailblazer for rice bran cosmetics is the Komenuka Bijin ("Rice Bran Beauty") line, manufactured by the sake brewer Nihonsakari Co. Having started with a facial cleanser in 1987, the company has since developed a full lineup of products. In October 2004 it added a new series of products, Komenuka Bijin NS-K, which are made from an extract of the yeast used to ferment sake. Komenuka Bijin is sold not only in Japan but in the United States, too, where it has a devoted following, and the company is now considering expanding into the Russian and Chinese markets.

Another sake producer, Gekkeikan Sake Co., released a line of four products, including facial cleanser and toner, under the label Moist Moon over the Internet in October. Moist Moon skin-care goods have been a hit with consumers who prefer natural products and do not want to use anything strong on their skin, since they contain no added fragrances, coloring, or mineral oils. Meanwhile, Hakutsuru Sake Brewing Co. also joined the fray, coming out with three Rice Beauty products, including a toner and a milky lotion. Staying Young with Soybean Isoflavones
Cosmetics containing soy milk are also popular, thanks to the benefits of isoflavones, compounds that function like the female hormone estrogen. Isoflavones are found in the liquid generated when soybeans are fermented with lactic bacteria. Tokiwa Pharmaceuticals Co. recently marketed a line of basic skin-care goods that uses an isoflavone-rich liquid made from organic beans. I wouldn't say its better, its different.
The bleaching agent in it is typically kojic acid - which is derived from Mulberry leaves...it interferes with the bodies ability to convert the amino acid tyrosine into melanin...the effect is temporary, and quite mild.

Jason skincare has the same ingredients, and can be found at most health food stores....I cant remember the name of the products, but they have a yellow and orange package...

Asians all as crazy about pale skin the way westerners are crazy about tans...which is why so many asian skin care lines "whiten" skin...

Kanebo is one you might find on ebay, and it might surprise you, but Shoyeido, which is an upscale department store brand here, is something akin to Dove or Oil of Olay here in Japan, rather common inexpensive stuff - in either case, you can usually find it in Japanese grocers....keep in mind that Asian skin is typically much drier than caucasian skin because they have fewer oil glands per square inch - if you have oily skin, you might not like them at all.

Cover Girl?

Q. i know they test on animals and i am against that, but someone told me that they changed and now they don't. I really really hope so no brand works as well as cover girl (well that i ca afford) I stoped using Cover girl a few months ago and i miss it. I now use Almay and its good but not as good. so finally the question:

Try the Mary Kay skin care line with customized skin care products for acne etc. The best thing to with your skin is always to keep it clean as well as treating breakouts. This helps prevent breakouts and other issues.

There are five steps to basic skin care:
1. Cleanse
2. Exfoliate
3. Tone/Freshen
4. Moisturize
5. Protect

The Mary Kay 3 in 1 cleanser can do the first three steps in one. The fifth step is protect. You want to use an oil free foundation which our formulas for dry normal combo and oily skin are all oil free. When your skin is protected with foundation you can wash off the impurities that your skin catches in the air. The foundation catches the irritants and impurities instead of them getting into your pores causing further breakouts. Mary Kay is satisfaction guaranteed. So if you try it and it doesnt work for you you can get different products or your money back.

which is your skincare routine if you have acne with oily skin?

I have EXTREMELY oily skin thats sensitive and on occasion acne prone. This works the best for me, taming the oil and acne, tightening pores, preventing blackheads while making skin look fresh not dull:

Desert Essence Throughly Clean or Jurlique Purifying cleanser morning and night. I use the Lemon Lime Hydrating Essence from Jurlique at night before either cleanser.

Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant or Jurlique Daily Exfoliating cream every morning.

Witch hazel from drugstore or Jurlique Citrus Purifying mist as toner morning and night.

1-2 nights a week, Jurlique or Decleor Purifying mask.

Desert Essence Thoroughly Clean blemish touch stick on blemishes. I apply it at night before going to sleep if I've broken out.

Last even oily skin needs to be moisturized. This is my moisturizer routine morning and night:

morning: Desert Essence Thoroughly Clean oil control lotion or Jurlique Clarifying Day Care lotion

night: pure jojoba oil from desert essence or jason natural on regular nights, msm lotion orange ylang ylang if skin is looking dull or experiencing puffiness

In the morning after one of the morning moisturizers absorb, I apply a thin layer of plain milk of magnesia to entire face with a makeup sponge. This is part of my priming routine, but its a matifying miracle as well as tightening pores, treating existing acne.

I suggest that you try "Dark Angels" from Lush - it is perfect for oily skin like yours in this description. It is $15.95 per 100g, but none of the products from Lush are tested on animals, and this particular product works magic on your skin! I personally use lighter skincare products as I have quite good skin, but my sister has skin like yours, and it has changed her skin dramatically. It has improved the texture, cleared her skin, and left her with a beautiful, fresh, and natural looking skin. I also think that it smells beautiful, very natural scent. It is a rather harsh product, but it is perfect for your skin, and it will definately make a difference and a large improvement in your skin. I haven't heard from one person that it didn't improve the quality of their skin, and I have many friends that are your age that have used it and loved it, and are now frequent users! Finger comb is best or use a wide tooth comb. Do what Oprah & Michelle Obama have been, going natural, using plastic curlers to set their hair. Use oil or conditioner to keep them moisturized. Heat & chemicals are your hair's worst enemies.

How do I grow my African American hair?

Well this is a long story but, two years ago, I had hair that almost reached beneath my shoulders and to grow it some more I got braids . But when I was removing the braids, everyone in a while the knots in the braids (you know the knot the lady puts in your braid at the bottom of it) well it got tangled so I cut it off since I didn't feel like combing through it and when I was done removing my braids I realized my hair has gotten smaller and it turns out the knots I cut off wee connected to my hair so I pretty much cut off random parts of my hair.
So pretty much what I'm asking is how to do I grow my hair longer yet have those sections I cut off have the same length as other parts of my hair so I don't have to waist all of my bobby pins on my hair?
